Beautiful hike to a Waimea Falls. The botanical gardens were beautiful and.full of history too. Easy hike for my kids Got to swim in the lagoon under the falls at the top. I love that they provided life jackets. Once we came down and changed it was off to the luau. We had a great time participating in some of the cultural activities and learning the Polynesian history and culture. Dancing was amazing and food phenomenal. My family really enjoyed it -especially my 11 year old and 15 year old. Highly recommend!!

This Pearl Harbor tour was more than what I had expected. I expected to just be dropped off at the location of Pearl Harbor to tour it on my own, which would have been ok. But the trolley ride was enjoyable, and the driver was very knowledgeable and informative about the events or Pearl Harbor, and also the history of the island as well. He was very entertaining, humorous and personal able, relating well with his clients, getting them involved in the tour. He assured that we all know what to expect and what was expected of us. We had plenty of time to explore and to pay or respect to the men and the events of that terrible day in history. I would recommend this tour to all I know when they visit Oahu and hope that they are lucky enough to get our guide for this experience.

We were initially skeptical of going to any Luau after a previous experience we had on Maui. We were concerned it would feel like a crowded dinner show instead of an authentic experience. We live on Oahu and had guests who really wanted to go. Tao Luau appealed to us because Waimea Falls is a beautiful setting away from resorts, and it has way less occupancy for the event then the others (200 compared to up to 800!). We were pleasantly surprised at the warm welcome, hands on experience, delicious dinner, and stunning show. We have visitors coming in a week, and more in the summer, and have already booked for two more times!

I lived on Oahu, and have attended many of the popular, industrial, Luaus on the island. Due to Covid, most were closed, so we went with Waimea Valley Toa Luau. I can say it was by far the most intermate, and authentic luau I've ever been to. The "cheaper" tickets still have a great, elevated view. The members/staff/performers are all family and the demonstrations they have are authentic to their history. With the admission to Waimea valley included, you can easily make an entire day of exploring the valley and concluding with the Luau. It truly felt like a family cookout (which is the true spirit of a luau) and not an assembly line of people and mediocre food (as most other industrial luaus are). Homemade coco drink, and no less than 5 fire throwers at once, put Waimea Valley Toa Luau over the top for me. Also, not a coconut bra in sight...

After arriving in Honolulu, we had some time before the afternoon check-in at the condominium, so we chose to stop by Ala Moana Center for some shopping reconnaissance. The lounge was very convenient as they stored our family's four suitcases. It was just before the COVID-19 outbreak, so there were fewer tourists, allowing us to relax comfortably. We had lunch at the food court in the center and coincidentally got to see a hula dance performance, which really got us into the Honolulu spirit from day one. It didn't take much time and everything went smoothly. The place we got off was the check-in counter for flights to the mainland United States, so I unknowingly stood in line for a while. I thought it was strange that only foreigners were in line, and when I asked, I was told that the flights to Japan were on a different floor further ahead. I got off at Ala Moana Center from the airport. At the Roberts Hawaii lounge, I checked my luggage and reserved a shuttle bus from Ala Moana Center to Sheraton Waikiki, departing at 3 PM, and then I went shopping and had lunch. I was worried about what to do if I couldn't make it in time for the 3 PM bus, so it was great to be able to discuss it in Japanese.
