I participated in a Hawaiian show in Hawaii that I was looking forward to with my wife.

The meeting place and schedule were as planned, and they provided transportation by bus without any issues.

The local Hawaiian show, including hula dancing and fire dancing, was so much fun!!

However, there was no Japanese announcement on-site, so I couldn't keep up with the vibe. There were hardly any Japanese people there. If I could speak a little more English, I think I would have enjoyed it more and been able to communicate with the people at my table!

Kind of disappointed…

The show was overall good, especially the fire dance at the end. And the chief is quite talented because he needs to run the show, tell jokes and play drums.

Anyway,
This luau is inside the water park, and we use the restroom inside the water park which is a 5 minutes away from the luau place. Before the sun goes down, it’s very hot and sweaty. And we don’t have much space while seating. The experience was not pleasant.

Also, after everyone takes a picture and ready to seat down, they give u a cup of mai tai and takes one of the drink tickets. Don’t take that Mai Tai drink right away, just go to the bar section for the drinks.

And there are one thing I can’t figure it out, before the buffet starts, they showed us a roast pig and said this is gonna be one of the main course tonight. And everyone go line up for the buffet, the only dish pork-related is the pull pork which has nothing to do with the roast pig for sure. And they didn’t cut the roast pig in front of everyone. It looks like the roast pig is one of the actor for the luau.

For the price we are paying, we expect more.

Get there early for sure. Games and activities were fun. Make sure to watch the pig coming out of the ground! Food was good but not great but the show during and after dinner was really good. Left there not regretting spent the money.

The pre-show activities ? None of those happened.
I was really looking forward to experience their culture but NO. When we got there, we were welcomed (speech and all that) then lined up for food and drinks then the show started.

I paid for a VIP royal package expecting my experience will be smooth… The only distinction between VIP and non VIP is the table arrangement and priority line for food but doesn’t apply if you wanna get drinks… which was very inconvenient.

Bottom line, I didn’t get my money’s worth.

I didn't have any concerns about infection since we were all facing the same direction watching the show or eating quietly. When you show your voucher at the entrance, you receive a card. The card has $20 loaded onto it, which can be used for drinks or shopping at the concession stand. You can enjoy some leisurely activities while waiting for the show to start, like riding in a canoe. The teriyaki chicken was delicious.

My daughter and I had a wonderful time at chief’s luau. The Chief was so funny and they all put on a great show! You could really feel the warmth of his personality shining through his speech and his humor made everything great. Tons of fire dancing, singing, story telling, and more dancing all around. Great food and great people to share the experience with. Felt like you were still in paradise. Definitely recommend purchasing close up seats and the lei package so you can get the full experience. Especially if it’s your first time in Hawaii. Totally worth every penny.

The chefs Luau was the best one we have ever attended. Great seats, awesome atmosphere, wonderful food all topped off with a history lesson on Hawaiis culture. Then they threw in a little comedy and it was over the top. Grandkids loved it.

Good show but could be better...

The show was good. The host is very entertaining. Food is as usual, nothing spectular. Upon arrival, only adult received drink tickets which the description did not indicate kids and youth don't get ticket for drink. With the price, the kids deserve soda tickets. It will be better if there are more pre-show activities, such as more photo backdrops and more lighting.

We loved the PCC and all it offered. I still admit the Samoa man Cap, is still my favorite, even after 15 years, he's still there and such a delight. We loved the origami birds also in Samoa. So much to see and enjoy. We love you!!!

We booked a shuttle to and from the Luau and paid for the Standard Package. This set up was perfect. The shuttle boarding was organized, spotless, and new. Our guide filled us in on expectations of the ride and luau. There were funny stories/laughter/entertainment on the bus. The luau was exceptional, professional, very well organized and laid out. Something for everyone. The dancing/singing was fantastic, everyone could see the open air stage from their seats, food was fantastic and lots of it. Drinks were aplenty, beautiful backstage for pictures either by a professional for purchase or your selfie.
I would absolutely take this again and recommend it to everyone!

We had a really great time. From our bus host to the main event. Cousin Tao was our bus host and she made the 45 minute bus ride fly by. She educated us on the culture the tattoos and made us laugh. She talked about pearl harbour, the climate of the island, as well as some of her native language.

We enjoyed the food. The pork was flavorful, chicken was good. Like anyone, I stayed away from what I knew I wouldn't like. Drinks were ok, but we aren't big drinkers to begin with. The main show amazing. Chief was very entertaining. The dancers were authentic. They tell a story and explain each islands culture, while entertaining you. The finale was great with multiple fire knife world champions. I highly recommend this luau! Yeah it's not on the beach, but so what! I learned about the culture, and had great food.
Also at the end of the night we ended up with two drunk strays. Cousin Tao, even though she didn't have to. She could've just said sorry you aren't on the roster and made them get off the bus. She
Called her boss, asked him to come back to bring them back to Waikiki. I thought that was super nice of her. If you want a genuine luau experience go to Chiefs luau.

Had a great time once we arrived

Our arranged bus was 20 min late, but part of the blame was a nearby hit and run (so traffic staggered around the police and paramedics). This caused us to miss most of the pre-show. Can't really fault anyone for that - just wished we had experienced it.
They no longer separate parties by table, so no more actual COVID separation (on paper/signs, they ask people to wear masks when away from their tables, but hardly anyone did so and no one enforced it).
Food was great. Buffet style, both sides of 2 rows of tables. Pick what you want, go back as much as you want. Lines were quick.
Performance was awesome. I wasn't aware that they had world champion fire dancers in the troupe. I personally loved the stories and explanations of each dance.

It was such a beautiful setting much nicer than others I’ve been to. The food was just ok and there was too much pause from the entertainment. They wanted people to spend money at their gift shop and buy a portrait. The band would stop playing during these periods.
