I visited with my daughter and husband. The meal was just okay, but stepping out onto the deck offered a wonderful view and sunset! When we returned inside, we enjoyed a fun hula experience and an impressive show! The pickup was a bit confusing, but on the way back, it was easy to just get on the bus with the designated number. I also thought it would be nice if there was a course without a meal.

We ended with everyone singing and dancing to YMCA, which was a big hit. I wondered why this song, but it was impressive to see all the guests smiling and having fun. The view was absolutely beautiful. Upbeat background music was playing, and there was an all-you-can-drink option (including alcohol) along with some simple snacks. You can choose your seat in the order you lined up, but every seat offers a great view, and you can freely stand up or move around, so honestly, any seat is good. (For those who are afraid of seasickness, the back is the least bumpy.) If you're at the very front, you might get splashed by the waves! The sunset was stunning! Seeing the Waikiki beach hotels and Diamond Head from the ocean was also wonderful! The breeze felt nice! It was the best.

A few days before my reservation, I received an email saying, "We were unable to prepare the optional cake and wine." (It mentioned that they had called several times, but I was worried about high communication costs, so I only lived on WiFi.) It was a crab-all-you-can-eat course, but they didn't bring the crabs quickly, so I couldn't eat much... I was disappointed about that as well.

The departure time is after dinner, which gives you some leeway. First, we boarded the boat and toasted with Mai Tai. After that, we cruised and docked on the Hilton side. The boat stays in a position where you can see the fireworks from either side. If I had to say, the best position is the front right from the beach. At 8:00 PM, the fireworks started. For almost five minutes, you can enjoy the fireworks without anything obstructing your view. After the fireworks, we continued cruising along Waikiki Beach up to the Diamond Head area. It was a wonderful time. However, I noticed that other boats departing from Waikiki Beach had a higher ratio of foreigners, which created a more lively atmosphere, and I really liked that feeling of being abroad!

However, the issue was with the response of the boarding staff from the previous year. Perhaps because they assume Japanese people can't speak English, they didn't approach us at all. On the other hand, they actively engaged with groups from other countries (like the mainland United States and Australia), checking on drinks and snacks. My group consisted of returnee students, so there was no problem with communication in English. It's really disappointing that the quality of service changed due to stereotypes.

We booked a 1-star package with transportation, guaranteed private seating, commemorative photos, and a city lights option.

Upon gathering, we were given stickers based on our booking, which we attached to our clothing as a marker for boarding.

We were seated at a window-side table for two, but since it was on the port side, we could only see the ocean during the first half. On the return trip, we would turn around to view the city of Honolulu, but since the show had started, we didn't have time to enjoy the scenery (laughs). We enjoy having drinks with our meals, but the welcome cocktail included with this course was sufficient, and although we considered ordering additional wine, we ultimately did not. The waiter also did not encourage us to order more.

The two types of meals we ordered were served on one plate. Since my wife does not eat beef, we had requested a change to the chicken and fish course, but I received a plate with beef and chicken, while my wife got crab and fish. It was a mistake, but the combination was still edible, so we went ahead and ate it. I had low expectations for the meal due to previews mentioning the taste was mediocre, but it was actually quite delicious. The portion size was just right. We returned to the port around 7:30 PM, and afterward, only the city lights participants were taken by car to Tantalus Lookout. We had a good view of the city of Honolulu and saw a decent night view. However, since it’s not a very large city, it doesn’t quite reach the level of a spectacular night view. If you participate, I think it’s best to go with the mindset of just having a story to tell about your trip to Hawaii.

食事は注文した2種類がワンプレートで提供されます。私達は妻が牛肉を食べないので、チキンと魚のコースへ変更をお願いしていたのですが、私の所にビーフとチキンが、妻の所へカニと魚のプレートが置かれました。間違っていましたが、この組み合わせは食べられなくはなかったので、このままいただきました。
食事の味はイマイチとのプレビューがあったので期待していませんでしたが、十分美味しくいただけました。量も丁度いいくらいでした。
この食事が美味しくないというのは、期待し過ぎと言うものです。一流ホテルのレストラン以外で食事しない方がいいでしょう。

食事の後、景色を楽しむ為にショーが始まるまでしばらく時間をとっていますが、私達はゆっくり食事をしていたため、あまり時間がありませんでした。
ショーは特にステージなどがあるのではなく、客席の中で行われます。お子さんなどがいるとより楽しめる内容だと思います。

19:30頃に帰港し、その後シティーライツ参加者のみ車でタンタラスの丘へ。
ホノルルの街が一望できてそれなりの夜景が見れました。
ただ、それほど大きな街ではありませんので、素晴らしい夜景とまでは行きません。参加されるなら、ハワイに来た話の種に行ってみるくらいの感覚でいいと思います。

We were the only Japanese people there. Hardly anyone spoke English. Suddenly, there was cheering and applause as everyone teased a man who arrived late. The man stylishly apologized, and even though the departure was delayed, it turned into a fun event! Last time I got seasick on a dinner cruise, so I was advised not to drink citrus beverages the day before to prevent seasickness, and I felt great!

Overall, I had a very enjoyable time. The staff's show was a lot of fun, and it was very engaging for all participants. As expected, the food wasn't very good, but the desserts and coffee were free and delicious.
