I participated in the Sunset Dinner Cruise on the Star of Honolulu. The live hula dance show was exciting and a lot of fun. The view of Waikiki Beach and Diamond Head from the sea was also amazing. I'm really glad I joined. My elderly parents who accompanied me also said they had a great time and were able to relax. We used the shuttle bus, and there were no particular issues. One point of concern was that the meat at the buffet was a bit tough, but that's something that often happens at other places, so it's within an acceptable range. Considering the high prices in Honolulu, this tour offers a lot of enjoyment for the price, so I recommend it to those who haven't participated yet and to elderly individuals.

- I booked a 1-star experience. The food was just okay.
- The dance had a Hawaiian vibe and was enjoyable.
- The sunset was visible while we were eating the main dish, and everyone went outside, but our food was taken away while we were out. It would have been great if we could have eaten a little more slowly.
- There is a gentle sway, so if you're prone to motion sickness, it's a good idea to take some medicine beforehand.

To say the Star of Honolulu is a fabulous ship is an understatement!
We were both so impressed the minute we walked up beside her! We really enjoyed everything about our evening! The dancers were so sweet as they welcomed us onboard, our window seats were great, the food was really good, and such a fun atmosphere! Our only complaint was their decision to serve crab legs as part of our meal plan. It was delicious, but just a messy food item to pair with our nice dress clothes & date night. And the views of coastline & Waikiki Beach were phenomenal! I had booked the Friday night cruise, hoping to view the Friday night fireworks off the beach ... but the weather changed those plans on us, which was understandable, we still really enjoyed! This was our first time experiencing a sunset dinner cruise ... and we both said we can't wait to go again on the Star of Honolulu!

Overall, it was good.
It was disappointing not to have a good staff member assigned to us after boarding.
First, they forgot the welcome drink. When I prompted them, it finally arrived. After that, the drinks I ordered didn’t come at all. I was made to wait for 40 minutes. I checked with the staff several times, but there was no apology, just “I’m handling it now.” When they finally brought the drinks, there was no apology either.
The food was satisfactory. It was decent for American standards. However, when they took away the plates, the staff spilled lobster juice on my clothes.
The only downside was the staff member assigned to us.
The food, the show, and the fireworks all received passing marks.

Before boarding, I got excited watching a hula dance performed by four people. The floors of the ship varied depending on the course. It was a buffet course, and the cost performance was excellent. We celebrated the night before our marriage on this event. We were a large group of 27. They accommodated us and sat us all together. The entertainment and the food were excellent. The servers kept everything flowing and joyful. Very organized and fun. I really enjoyed the dancers and singers. They performed in front of us and had them all over so everyone could enjoy them. The only bummer was that I specifically chose to go on the Friday sunset cruise for the firework show. However, it didn’t happen due to the winds. I was very sad. Other than that, I thought it was a fabulous experience.

It might be a good idea to bring a jacket during this time. Although there was an all-you-can-drink option, it was too cold, and I could only have one drink at the start. When the catamaran set sail, everyone started dancing to the upbeat music and stood up to take photos, creating a very cheerful atmosphere. Although Japanese was not spoken, the vibe was very lively.
