I boarded three times before the COVID-19 pandemic. The atmosphere was nice, and there were staff members who could speak Japanese. I was really looking forward to this trip to Hawaii after a long time, but the staff prioritized foreign guests and were not friendly towards Japanese guests. The drinks I ordered took over 30 minutes to arrive, and they didn't even ask if I wanted a refill on the bread. The only saving grace was the beautiful fireworks from Hilton. Overall, I'm just disappointed.

I participated in early November. Since I made a last-minute reservation, I didn't check the reviews or precautions much and joined without sunglasses, but you should definitely bring them! The sun was strong for about an hour from the meeting time, and I got really sunburned, so sunscreen is a must. I took motion sickness medication, so I didn't get seasick, but the boat was quite rocky at times. We got splashed with water in the areas with big waves, but it was exciting and fun. The drinks were unlimited with a cup exchange, and at the end, we even received mini raffles. In our group, there was only one other Japanese couple, and there were more people from Europe and the United States than from Asia. Everyone was friendly, and we were able to take photos together. The strong wind made my hair a mess. It felt a bit pricey due to the weak yen, but the sunset was beautiful, and I'm glad I participated!

集合時間〜１時間ぐらいは日差しが強く、日焼けが凄かったので、日焼け止めも必須です。酔い止めは飲んでいたので船酔いはありませんでしたが、途中は揺れが大きかったです。波が大きいところでは水に濡れたりもしましたが、盛り上がって楽しかったです。ドリンクもコップ交換で飲み放題で、最後にミニのラッフルズなどもいただきました。私たちが乗った回は日本の方が他に1組しかおらず、アジア圏よりも欧米の方が多かったです。みなさんフレンドリーで写真を取り合ったりできました。強風で髪の毛はボッサボサになります。円安すぎてお高めに感じましたが、サンセットもキレイで参加して良かったです！

First, it took too long for the service to bring the Mai Tai after we were seated... We missed the toast (crying).
We were guided to the buffet by table.
The food was neither particularly good nor bad. The sauce for the main roast beef didn't cling well to the meat. I wish there had been more variety in the desserts. I feel like the food was better when I attended before COVID. That said, I did go back for more roast beef (laughs). I think it would have been nice if they had labeled the dishes. Anyway, it was fully booked.

The staff was so friendly and fun, the drinks flowed, and we were dancing most of the time. The rest of the time spent was taking the most amazing photos against a spectacular sunset! Every one of my group of 12 had the best time and wanted to do this again every night of our stay!

I requested a private seat or a window-side seat. The seat was at the very back, right next to the aisle, and close to the restroom, with people constantly passing by, making it impossible to enjoy my meal in peace. Furthermore, the window was partially blocked by stairs and a wall, so there was hardly any sense of privacy or a window-side experience. I was very disappointed, especially since I paid an additional fee to participate. If it had been that seat without the extra cost, I could have accepted it as just bad luck, but given that I paid extra for such a terrible seat, I cannot recommend it... It was very disappointing as it was the last meal of my trip.

I saw it in a travel magazine and decided to include it in our schedule. The weather was a bit bad on the day we went, but when I suddenly looked at Diamond Head, there was a rainbow over it. The sway of the yacht as we moved over the waves, everyone swaying to the music and enjoying drinks, the excitement with people from various countries, and the sunset sinking into the sea was absolutely beautiful. The night view on the way back was fantastic, and it was truly a fun two hours. Thank you to the staff of Nahoku for creating such a wonderful time.

I made a reservation for this day thinking it would be great to see the Hilton fireworks. Before boarding, we were welcomed with a show.

Once we boarded and were shown to our seats... I had the impression that in Japan, it's common for two people to sit facing each other, but we were seated side by side instead. I thought it was a considerate arrangement to make conversation easier, but it felt a bit awkward. In front of us were a child and their father seated in the same manner. Next to us was a Japanese couple seated facing each other... I was a bit confused about the seating arrangement.

Before I knew it, we set sail!! The sun gradually began to set.

The food was served in order after we departed. Honestly, there was quite a wait. We had salad, rice, yakisoba, sautéed swordfish, miso grilled chicken, and the main dish, roast beef. The taste was decent. Personally, I found the roast beef a bit too rare for my liking...

While the food was just okay, I really felt the hospitality from the dancers and staff. The show was a lot of fun, and the staff also showcased their dancing skills!! It was a bit strange, but it really got everyone excited!!

Finally, we returned to port after watching the Hilton fireworks. There were various ups and downs, but in the end, it was a very enjoyable time!!

徐々に日が沈み。サンセット！
料理は、出航してから順番に案内されます。正直、結構待ちます。
サラダ、ライス、焼きそば、カジキマグロのソテー、みそ焼きチキン、そしてメイン(？)のローストビーフ。
味は、そこそこおいしかったです。ローストビーフは自分的には少し生っぽくて・・・ダメでした。
ま、料理はそんな感じでしたが、ダンサーやスタッフの皆さんのおもてなしはすごく感じました。
とても楽しいショー、そしてスタッフも負けずとダンスを披露！！これがなんだか微妙なんですが、とても盛り上がりました！！
そしてヒルトンの花火をみて帰港。
いろいろありましたが、終わってみたらとても楽しいひと時でした！！

About an hour before the gathering, I checked the boat's location, and when I arrived 30 minutes prior, I panicked because the boat was missing. The voucher mentioned that there might not be a boat even at the check-in time, but it also stated that due to sea conditions, the departure could be from a completely different beach. It said they would contact us individually, but since there was no international phone number, I was worried that I might have been left behind. In the end, the boat did not arrive until the departure time, and there was no shade on the beach under the blazing sun, with no restrooms nearby, so arriving too early is something to be cautious about.

However, once on board, I found a bar where you could drink freely, and later it turned into a lively club atmosphere with upbeat music (the passengers on passing boats seemed a bit taken aback), which really made me feel like I was experiencing something international! I would like to use this service again if I have the chance. Shoes are stored away, and it's barefoot on the boat. It gets quite wet, so wearing a swimsuit with a rash guard was definitely the right choice!

集合の１時間ほど前に船の位置を下見して、30分前に行ったら船がなく焦りました。
バウチャーにはチェックインの時間になっても船がないことがあるとは書いてありましたが、海況で全く違うビーチ発になることもあるとも書いてあり、個別連絡するとは書いてあるもの、海外用の電話番号もなかったためまさか置いてかれたのか？と気が気ではありませんでした。。
結局出港の時間まで船は来ず、炎天下のビーチで日陰はなく、近くにはトイレもないので、早く着きすぎるのも要注意です。

ただ、乗ってみたら気軽に飲み放題できるバーと後半はノリノリBGMのクラブ状態（すれ違った船の乗客は若干引くほど）でまさに海外を味わえた気がしますｗ
また機会があったらこちらを利用したいな、とは思いました。
靴は仕舞われ船上は裸足。結構濡れるので水着にラッシュで正解でした！

Celebrating my wife's birthday on the Star of Honolulu! It was organized from the time we were picked up at our hotel by bus to being seated at our reserved table. The ship is divided by what package you purchase (excellent idea). We got a chance to watch fireworks from the Hilton Hawaiian Hotel beach. But was wonderful was the breezes off the ocean in addition to the wonderful sunset while you have your meal. Your meal is brought to your table by the fantastic wait staff. Live music is performed while dining. Later, there is a hula/chaka show. Before you know it, the night is over. My wife received a special birthday cake that was light as a feather and delicious. We ended our stay in Oahu with this dinner cruise. Best time spent. Would do it again just for the sunsets.

Buffet: Simply put, it’s not good. They advertise roast beef, but it’s just tough. I was astonished that they would serve this quality of food for this price. I think it’s better to buy prepared food at ABC Store.

Staff: I believe it’s just a lack of training, but the quality of guidance and service is not good. The waiter was unfriendly, and after disembarking, there was no greeting or farewell atmosphere; it felt like they were just rushing us off the ship and onto the bus.

Show: They are desperately trying to hype things up. Despite that, the singing isn’t good; it felt like they were just trying to create an atmosphere of excitement by getting everyone to dance. At the end, they called out someone celebrating a birthday, but the surrounding atmosphere was filled with a sense of “???” which made it quite awkward.

Tour Company: They are just replying with template responses to experience posts, so I don’t think there will be any dramatic improvements in the future. They write things like “to strengthen customer service,” but I doubt it will get better.

Sunset: It looks great for photos from the ship. I think it’s better to take proper shots with a DSLR or something similar.

Fireworks: It’s nice that you can see them from the ship. Since people start reserving spots fairly early, it’s better to secure a place for the fireworks rather than watching the meal or show.

Overall: If you’re going to spend this much, I think it’s better to choose another restaurant or upgrade your hotel. Unless you absolutely want to see the fireworks from the ship, I don’t think it’s worth participating, especially on a trip to Hawaii.

スタッフ:練度不足なだけとは思いますが案内やサービスの質は良くないです。ウェイターは無愛想、下船後は挨拶もお見送の雰囲気もなくとにかく船から降ろさせてバスに乗せる作業をしている感じでした。
ショー:とにかく盛り上げようと必死。その割に歌は上手くない、とにかく踊らせて盛り上げてる感を何とか作り出したいという感じでした。最後にお誕生日の方が呼ばれていましたが、周りの雰囲気としては「???」という空気感で何とも言えない微妙感満載でした。
ツアー会社:体験談の投稿に関して定型文で返信してるだけなので今後劇的に改善されることは無いと思います。「カスタマーサービス強化のための〜」とか書いてありますが、まあ良くなることは無いでしょう。
サンセット:船上から見るので写真映えはします。一眼レフなどでしっかり撮影した方が良いと思います。
花火:船上から見られるのでそこは良いと思います。ある程度早い時間から場所取りが始まるので食事やショーを観るくらいなら花火を観るための場所取りをして待機しておくくらいの方が良いと思います。
総評:この値段を出すくらいなら他のレストランを選ぶことや宿泊ホテルのグレードを上げる方が良いと思います。絶対に船上からの花火を観たいという人以外はせっかくのハワイ旅行ですので参加するべきでは無いと思います。

I capped off our 20th wedding anniversary with this Sunset Cruise. My wife and I were tremendously pleased with everything from start to finish. From the greetings to fireworks everything was on point. The food was delicious and the wait staff was impeccable. The live jazz music was great. I recommend you get the luxury experience with all the options. We enjoyed the 5 star treatment. It was classy and sophisticated. This will be a very memorable experience.

The staff's service was very good! The food was a bit off for Japanese people, and the only thing I liked was the fruit; the rest didn't suit my taste!

The fireworks were farther away than I expected, and I thought it would be nice to see them from the beach! I wouldn't recommend making a reservation if there were no fireworks!

This was my second time attending, after participating before the pandemic. Previously, there was a dance at the end where all the participants joined in. That was fun in its own way, but this time, the final hula dance show was also great. I happened to have a seat right in front of the main stage, so I was able to enjoy the best show up close.

以前はコロナ前の参加。今回が2回目です。以前は最後に参加者一体となったダンスがありました。これはこれで楽しかったのですが、今回の最後のフラダンスショーもよかったです。たまたまメインステージの真前の席でしたので、近くで最高のショーを楽しめました。

The plan with transportation to the hotel was reassuring. We were able to see a beautiful sunset and took many great photos. The hula show was wonderful, and I was a bit surprised that the ladies serving drinks also participated in the show.
