I made a last-minute reservation here because another company (a Japanese one) had already closed their bookings. After making the reservation, I received a confirmation email stating, "Hotel pickup is 3.5 hours prior." I thought that was early, but considering I didn't know the road conditions and they would be stopping at other hotels, I figured it was reasonable.

I was fully prepared and waiting in the lobby, but the van took a while to arrive. I started to doubt whether they would come to call me in the lobby, so I waited by the roadside in front of the hotel. While waiting, it was confusing because large buses and vans that didn't have "Roberts" written on them were stopping nearby.

The confirmation email mentioned, "If they don't arrive in 10 minutes, call us," and I hesitated, thinking, "It's about time to call... (but I wouldn't understand if they spoke in English)." Finally, around 15 minutes later, the van arrived. After stopping at a couple of other hotels and passing through the domestic terminal, we arrived at my flight's terminal 2 hours and 40 minutes before departure.

Since I don't understand English, I thought that next time, I should consider having Japanese support as one of my criteria, just in case.

予約確定メールに「10分経って来なかったらTELを」と書いてあり、「そろそろTELを…(でも英語で言われても意味分かんないし)」と躊躇していたところ、15分過ぎた頃にバンが到着。その後2か所くらい他ホテルを回り、国内線ターミナルを経由し、私のフライトのターミナルに到着したのはフライトの2時間40分前でした。
英語が分からない私は、次回は、万一の場合に日本語対応可であることも選択基準のひとつにしようと思いました。

I had some trouble with the departure procedures, so I hurried to the meeting place. However, my fellow passengers ended up gathering 15 minutes later. I waited there, zoning out, but since it was a trip where there was no rush, it wasn't a problem.

We stopped at four hotels, and I was the last to get off at the fifth stop. I think this service is good in that regard because if there weren't a rule limiting it to five stops, there could be a possibility of more people being crammed in. I'm also grateful that it can be used without tipping.

It was a truly wonderful place. The untouched nature was incredible. The road to HANA was winding and very narrow, especially when encountering oncoming cars. However, the views from the car along the way were absolutely breathtaking.

In the tour, we were the only Japanese participants. Honestly, I understood only about half of the English, but I managed (laughs). Moreover, during the East Maui tour, we didn't encounter any other Japanese people at all. It's a completely different experience compared to Honolulu, even though it's the same Hawaii. The banana bread we bought along the way was warm and delicious too. However, I was surprised that we passed right by Hasegawa General Store. I wanted to check it out a bit...

I highly recommend experiencing the untouched nature and power of East Maui!

I use this service every time between the airport and the hotel. This time, I waited for the bus at the airport for about 30 minutes for the first time. Also, it took an hour to reach the hotel due to the hotel drop-offs (since I was the last one). As someone who knows the roads in Honolulu to some extent, I have some doubts about the route taken to drop off at the hotels (like passing the same roads multiple times and going past hotels where people were getting off). A bit of a rocky start as we were to meet group picked up at Waikiki at airport. Group was late and no contact with Veltra guide had us nervous for a while. Once settled and arrived at Hilo, 'Captain' Bob took over as our guide. Our group of 10 toured all sites as mentioned and Bob was an excellent guide throughout. He made the tour much more interesting with his extensive knowledge of the island history, geography, plant and animal life, food, climate, etc. He also shared quite a bit science knowledge related to the volcanoes. All was delivered with humor and was very enjoyable. Keep in mind Hilo is known for the amount of rain received - you are advised to bring appropriate clothing.

This is an excellent idea and I'd highly recommend the lei greeting! As promised, the representative was waiting just outside our gate with our leis. The hospitality didn't end there as our rep walked with us to baggage claim, secured a porter for us and then found our hotel transfer van for us. She waited with us until we were on the van to our hotel. She would not accept a tip saying it was her pleasure to help. The leis come with a gift bag containing chocolates and care instructions for the leis. We kept ours in our hotel refrigerator and after 12 days we were able to take them home to show others....they still were beautiful and fragrant!

A small van for about 10 people arrived nearly 10 minutes late. The voucher mentioned to call the company if it was more than 10 minutes late, so I was starting to think I should make that call. I thought I was the last passenger, but we then went back to pick up a couple in the Waikiki area, and we arrived at the airport just 10 minutes before check-in closed. I was anxious since I knew the check-in closing time, but the other passengers (all foreigners) were cheerfully chatting away.

The driver also seemed a bit rushed while driving, so I think he was aware of the check-in closing time.
