We found out at the last minute that our reserved sunset cruise was not available due to Independence Day, so we hurriedly signed up for this plan instead. It was quite a bit over our budget, but in the end, it was definitely the right choice. We were able to watch the Independence Day fireworks from the boat, and my parents were absolutely thrilled.

The three-story Majestic. The dinner course was on the lower floor, but the light meal course was served on the third floor from the beginning, so we had the best position for watching the fireworks. The staff also mentioned that this was the best spot. Indeed, the dinner course guests came up later, so we occupied the good spot, and those behind us had to peek from the back. It was a great deal, and we had a fantastic view—nothing to complain about.

I reserved a 5-course meal at Celebration. The dining areas are on the 1st to 3rd floors, and we had a window-side seat on the 3rd floor! During the meal, we could freely go out to the hallway or the rooftop to take pictures and enjoy the view. It was amazing to see a rainbow, watch the sunset, and enjoy the Independence Day fireworks. Towards the end of the meal, we watched a dance show, and at the end, everyone in the audience danced together. It was fun from the moment we boarded the cruise until we disembarked. We also received photos as a gift, which made for a great keepsake!

After completing the check-in and going to our assigned seats, there weren't enough seats for our group. When I communicated this, I was instructed to wait a bit, but we were not guided to our seats for a long time until I checked in again. Ultimately, we were forced to sit in a cramped space, which left me feeling a bit disappointed even before the event started.

After finishing our meal, we had to wait a very long time until the fireworks started. I heard that the fireworks were scheduled to begin between 8 PM and 9 PM, which is quite different from Japan's schedule. If only the staff had been a bit more accommodating, we might have been able to enjoy the wait without feeling frustrated.

Considering all of this, the price felt high. Even if there is a next time, I won't participate.

The Independence Day fireworks were beautiful, even though I didn't expect much since I was in a foreign country. They lasted a full 15 minutes and were really stunning. The final crew and staff dance performance felt a bit over the top, but it was fun.

I had such a wonderful time on the Star of Honolulu Independence Day Fireworks Cruise on the 4th. Everyone on the ship was very professional, nice, friendly and did everything to make sure your night and experience was a good one! The food was very good also, you never know until you try it, but it was great. The entertainment was great and I was on the first floor and staff entertained us very well with good food. The fireworks was the highlight of the evening and the 15 minutes of fireworks was sooooo nice and great to see with other ship mates. I definitely recommend the Star of Honolulu for any night or occasion while visiting the city. Lots of good memories from my last night in town while on the Star of Honolulu!

My wife and I participated together. We enjoyed welcome drinks and appetizers on the top deck, and after taking a commemorative photo with the captain, we were guided to our seats. The staff was very polite and accommodating in Japanese, and the course meal was excellent. When we went out to the deck during sunset and fireworks, the staff kindly took photos for us. I think this was the best optional tour we've participated in during our time in Hawaii. I highly recommend it to everyone!

My husband and I were recently married in Oahu and stayed for our honeymoon for 2 weeks. We wanted something really unique to do for the 4th of July and while I was online booking another activity, this fireworks, catamaran sail popped up. I never in a million years thought we would get tickets in time, considering it was the saturday before the 4th, but I placed my order and recieved a confirmation within 24 hours confirming our date for the 4th. It was such a low price, that we really didn't have extremely high expectations. When we arrived on the catamaran the staff were so friendly and educated everyone on the boat. They also went around and took pictures for those who wanted them. We sailed arounf the bay in Wakiki for a a few hours and then when dark hit we sat in the bay and watched the fireworks. We took our family on this cruise, and are happy we did. Every year we never seem to know what to do about going to Fireworks shows. We have two kids, and I am always a little worried to have them around a huge crowd of people. I don't want them to get scared and also, just safety concerns and feeling so hectic and in the middle of the Waikiki hub bub...we had to find an alternative.

This cruise was the perfect solution. We just showed up, and were greeted by hula dancers which my kids thought was so great! And then we were served a great meal, that even the kids ate. The fireworks started and we were able to enjoy all the thrill of the Magic Island show, without being stuck in the middle of that crazy crowd of people. We would do this again next year for sure.

My wife and I took this cruise and had a great time!

Being new to the area, we asked for some suggestions and several people mentioned the Star of Honolulu to us. So we gave it a shot, and we are so glad we did.

It was easy to get to the pickup point right from our hotel, we actually walked! And then the dinner was great. I am a big eater, and a self-professed food snob, but that lobster and five-course meal was truly amazing. Fireworks capped off the night with a bang, and it was just wonderful.

It started with a sunset while enjoying dinner, and I had the main dish of lobster. My hands got a bit messy, but it was delicious. I wish there had been a special spoon for crab so I could have eaten everything. It would have also been nice to have extra napkins. I thought a finger bowl would have been even better. The steak was a reasonable size and very tasty. I reserved a window-side seat, but during the fireworks, everyone gathered on the right side, and only a couple of groups were seated to watch. Luckily, I was able to join one of those groups. I enjoyed the night view of Honolulu and was able to watch the spectacular fireworks while seated, making it the best night ever. The entertainment until we returned to port included Hawaiian and jazz performances, and we all got excited dancing together at the end. The traffic on the way back to the hotel was as expected and took a while, but compared to the traffic in Tokyo, it wasn't too bad. The fare was nearly double what it was on the way there, but I was able to get some great information from the taxi driver during our conversation.

First, it was quite challenging to get on the bus to the port. The staff made a mistake with the passenger list, so we couldn't board right away. There were mostly Japanese people gathered, but there was someone who could speak English, which was helpful for conversation.

Since it was a one-star experience, my wife and I had our meal at a shared table, reminiscent of a school trip. The food was simple, but I wasn't concerned since I didn't have high expectations for the meal from the start. The waiter was the same person who made the mistake with the bus list. Overall, the service felt a bit casual, or you could say it had a homey atmosphere.

During the meal, a show and live performances started, but with the sunset, about half of the guests got up to take pictures outside or enjoy the view from the ship.

Since it was a large ship, it didn't sway much, which was nice.

As night fell, the Independence Day fireworks began. The ship docked right in front of the launch site. I had heard from locals that the fireworks were smaller compared to those in Japan, but perhaps because it was the 50th anniversary, they were quite satisfying.

In higher classes, there might be a dress code, allowing for a more relaxed dining experience while watching the fireworks.

On the way back, there was a tremendous traffic jam. It usually takes about ten minutes to get back to the Marriott Hotel, but it took over an hour. If you are in a group, it might be nice to walk back while enjoying the scenery.

食事はシンプルなものでしたが、最初から食事に関して期待していなかったため気になりませんでした。
担当ウェイターはバスの名簿を間違えた人でした。接客は全体的になぁなぁな感じで、よくいえばアットホームなとでも言えましょうか。

食事中にショーやライブが始まりましたが、サンセットも重なり半分くらいの人が席を立って外で写真撮影や船上からの景色を眺めたりしていました。

大きな船ということもあり、さほど揺れもきになりませんでした。

いよいよ夜になり、独立記念日の花火大会が始まりました。船は打ち上げ場所の目の前で停泊。花火は日本と比べて小規模だと現地の方から伺っていましたが、５０周年記念ということもあってか、結構満足のいったものでした。

もっと上のクラスではドレスコードもあり、ゆったりとクルージングディナーをして座りながら花火を観ることができたのですかね。

帰りがものすごく渋滞して、マリオットホテルまで帰るのに普段１０分くらいなのですが1時間以上かかりました。複数でいたら散歩しながら帰るのもいいかもしれません。

I recommend it for those staying in Hawaii on Independence Day.

I think it would be nice to go a little early, have a meal at Hooters in the Aloha Tower Marketplace, and then join the event.
