the hotel is really nice but at this activity they dont give you enough food. small portions and everyone gets the same food. the entertainment is ok but definitly not worth the price. the fire dancer is only 5 minutes long. ours was inside, that was disappointing as we thought it would be outside. overall find a different activity or a different luau.

I had seen the fireworks from Aloha Tower before, so I wanted to change things up, and I had always wanted to ride the Star of Honolulu, so I decided to participate.

Initially, I imagined that there would be some not-so-great food served, and we would just wait for the fireworks while drinking. However, the food was not only plentiful but also quite tasty, and there was a show to keep us entertained from departure to arrival. I think it lasted just under three hours, and I had a great time.

As for the scenery, the sunset was nice, but the night view of Honolulu was beautiful, and I was satisfied because I could see the fireworks well.

If I had to mention a downside, it would be that it was quite cramped due to the number of people, and most of the participants were Japanese, which made it feel a bit lacking in local charm. The woman sitting next to me seemed to be seasick, so those who are prone to motion sickness might want to be cautious.

アロハタワーからの花火は見たことが有るので趣向を変えてみてみたいと思っていた事と、一度はスターオブホノルルに乗ってみたいと思っていたので参加しました。
当初想像としてはあまりおいしくない食事が少し出て、後は飲み物でも飲みながら花火が上がるまで待つのかなと思っていましたが、料理は量もさることながら味の方もなかなかでしたし、出港から帰港までショーで盛り上げてくれて3時間弱だったと思いますが楽しく過ごせました。

又、景色ですがサンセットもそれなりに綺麗なのでしょうが、夜景のホノルルの町も綺麗で、花火も良く見えた事から満足しています。

難点を言えばかなり詰め込むので窮屈な事と参加のほとんどが日本人であまり風情が無い事でしょうか。私の隣の席にいた女性は船酔いをしている様でしたので乗り物に弱い人も少し注意した方が良いかもしれません。

What an amazing evening! The Makani was fabulous and fun, and the staff fantastic. Hawai'i Events were incredibly helpful and professional and it was so worth every penny.

We were the closest boat to the fireworks and had the very best seat in the house...well, ocean.

Thank you for an excellent experience, and for all my friends and family who come visit- this will be a "must do" activity!!

On the last day of our trip, we decided to book a dinner cruise. I thought about wrapping up our time in Hawaii with this, and it turned out to be the perfect choice! The Royal Hawaiian, which I've always admired, was right in front of us, and we had the best location in the front row.

By the time we arrived at the hotel, there was already a line forming, and I was really glad we splurged on the premium seats. The show and the food were amazing, and the all-you-can-drink alcohol made us feel so happy! I definitely want to participate again the next time I go to Hawaii!

We had a wonderful evening at the Royal Hawaiian Luau!!! Beautiful hotel and grounds (took my breath away when we pulled up in the taxi) and beautiful evening. We were the very last ones to arrive (someone stole our taxi!) and I was very upset fearing that we would be seated in the rear. I had paid for the premium seats (forgot I did that, and recommend doing so), however, and they walked us right up to our front row table. It was fabulous. The food was wonderful and authentic, not too much to make us feel stuffed, and not too little that we were hungry after dinner. The entertainment was fantastic, we especially enjoyed the woman doing the emceeing (I'm sorry, I forget her name), the fire dancer and the woman playing Wipe Out on the yukelele. What a terrific night. The entertainment was first rate, the night beautiful, and the drinks were lovely and yummy! We highly recommend. Photos are from my phone, so not the best quality.

We attended the family gathering the night before my second son's wedding. The meal was a proper course dinner, and the luau was of quite high quality, leaving everyone very satisfied. When I told the host of the show that I was getting married the next day, he introduced me to everyone, and I received applause and blessings from them. It seems to have become an unforgettable memory for the couple.

I was thinking of leaving feeling very satisfied, but when I went to pick up the photos taken by the photographer, I was charged $20. Since it was free two years ago, I felt quite disappointed.

Aside from this, it was a wonderful luau, so I recommend it. However, please note that it only takes place on Mondays.

次男の結婚式前夜に家族で参加してきました。
食事はちゃんとしたコース料理、ルアウはかなり質が高く、それぞれ満足度は高いものがあります。
ショーの司会者に「翌日結婚する」と伝えたら、皆さんに紹介してくれて、皆さんから祝福の拍手をいただきました。次男夫婦には忘れられない思い出となったようです。

The cruise was filled with Japanese people, so it didn't feel like I was in Hawaii. When I watched the countdown fireworks from the deck, there were a lot of people, and everyone counted down together, which was very exciting. The food wasn't particularly delicious, but the atmosphere on the deck was nice. The fireworks viewed from the deck were better than those seen from the beach in Honolulu.

We splurged and reserved premium seats, and on April 30th, we attended with my wife and our nephew. When we arrived at the meeting time, there was already a long line, but we were prioritized and guided to the front row table. It seemed that those with general seating were being directed to the front row seats in order of arrival, so I recommend arriving early.

The table we were shown to was a round one right in front of the stage. The backdrop of the oceanfront stage featured Diamond Head, making for a fantastic location. Even though we had premium seats, those who arrived after us were seated with their backs to the stage and Diamond Head, which made the benefits of the premium seating feel a bit diminished.

The meal was served as a course rather than a buffet, and the staff frequently came to take drink orders, so we didn't feel any frustration. Since we were in Waikiki, it felt like there were overwhelmingly more Japanese guests. At our table for nine, aside from the two Americans at the neighboring table, everyone else was Japanese.

I have experienced several luau shows, including those on the outer islands, but this one was not the type where the audience participates with a lot of chatter; it was a well-structured entertainment show to watch. The fire dance, in particular, was the most impressive I have ever seen.

I was glad that the show coincided with my stay in Waikiki, as I was able to enjoy a very luxurious time. Thank you very much.

　私たちが案内されたのは舞台の目の前にある丸テーブルの席でした。オーシャンフロントの舞台の背景にはダイアモンドヘッドがあり、最高のロケーションでした。同じプレミア席でも私たちの後から来た方は舞台とダイアモンドヘッドを背にする席でしたのでプレミア席の＜メリット感＞が少ないようにも感じました。

　食事はビュッフェスタイルではなく、コースのお料理が順番に席に運ばれてきました。飲み物は席の係の方が頻繁にオーダーを聞きに来てくれていましたのでフラストレーションは感じませんでした。
　ワイキキですので、印象としては私たち日本人が圧倒的に多く感じました。私たち９人席のテーブルも隣の席の米国人おふたり以外は日本の方でした。

　離島も含めてルアウショーの経験はいくつかありますが、観客が＜ワイワイガヤガヤ＞と参加するタイプのものではなく、全編がしっかりと構成されたエンターテイメントを＜観る＞というものでした。取り分けファイアーダンスは今まで観た中でも圧巻でした。

　今回、週に一回のショーの開催日と私のワイキキ滞在日が合って良かったと思います。とても贅沢な時間を過ごすことが出来ましたから。ありがとうございました。

I participated in the romance dinner, and the jazz performance was wonderful, with all the food being delicious, which made my family happy as well. The only disappointment was the bus transportation; I understand it was New Year's Eve, but the waiting time for both the outbound and return trips was quite long, and I hope for improvements in that area.

I wanted to ride the Star of Honolulu again after my last trip to Hawaii, and while searching, I discovered a fireworks viewing and countdown course on December 31. Since it was a special countdown, I decided to sign up for a more extravagant and memorable experience.

The Star of Honolulu is not just a simple dinner cruise where you enjoy a meal and the night view; it’s a meaningful experience where you sing and dance with the staff. We welcomed the countdown on the deck, and we were able to see fireworks from both the Ala Moana area and the Kahala area, as well as fireworks from various other districts, making for a truly luxurious time.

I also ordered champagne, but when I requested to change it to a non-alcoholic option (Shanmeri) on-site, they handled it without any complaints, and the staff was very kind and helpful. I would love to participate again if I have the chance.

前回の渡ハの時に乗船したスターオブホノルルに再度乗りたく思い、探していると12月31日の花火観賞＆カウントダウンってコースがあるのを発見。
折角のカウントダウンなので、ちょっと豪勢に、そして記憶に残るカウントダウンにしたくて申し込みました。
このスターオブホノルル、ただ食事をして夜景を見て楽しむ単純なディナークルーズではなく、スタッフと一緒に歌って踊ってこそ意味のあるコースです。
カウントダウンは、デッキで迎えた訳ですが、アラモアナ地区であがる花火とカハラ地区？であがる花火を両方（その他色々な地区の花火も見える）見ることができ、とても贅沢な時間を迎えることが出来ました。
追加で、シャンパンを頼んでいたのですが、現地でノンアルコール（シャンメリー）に変更をお願いしたのですが嫌な顔ひとつせず対応してくれましたし、スタッフも親切で助かりました。
また機会があったら参加したいと思います。

My husband and I went on this sail last year in Hawaii, and it was by far the best time I had while I was there. The catamaran is really beautiful and I loved just chilling out on the nets at the front of the boat. The hubby and I just snuggled and sipped our drinks while watching the fireworks and the skyline. All of Waikiki was sparkling and being on the water was the BEST way to see the fireworks. I know that back at home, it can get really crowded on the shoreline so not having to deal with the mess of people was a fantastic perk. A great big thank you to the captain and crew and we will see you again soon!

I had a great time. Perhaps because it was crowded during the summer season, I thought I would have a seat a bit closer... I think the show would have been even more enjoyable if I understood English. I wonder if it's easier to get seats if you arrive early? The food was delicious and served as a course. I enjoyed chatting with an elderly couple at the same table, and the time flew by. It was a fun experience since shows like this are quite rare in Japan.

The show and dinner were all great, although the difference between booking premiere and regular show seems only to make sure that you have a front table. I was very lucky to sit with a family from Canada who were very friendly and welcoming. This show has seating at large round tables, and so as an individual realize that you are going to be sitting with someone else.

The show itself was first rate and the singers and dancers put their all to it. There is a small part of the show at the beginning that really didn't make sense where they played like to the were doing work in a village....they should let the dancers and singers rest and abandon this part.

This is an expensive but on Waikiki event, no bus to ride on, but let me share with you if you are in the restaurant right next to the show, or are on the public beach behind the show you could see the whole thing for free!

I definitely had a great time, by far the BEST! Nice location with a spectacular view of the sunset, the nice green color of the famous Diamond Head, great dinner, and the entertainment was just awesome! You can’t ask for more.
Typical luau is on a buffet style dinner and sometimes you have to wait in a long line before you get your food but with Aha Aina, everything is conveniently served to your table, delicious appetizers, filling main entrée, and multiple choices of beverages. Their servers are fast too, very friendly and accommodating. I can only say good things as I totally enjoyed it! I'll be sure to go again.

Gotta love the open bar! Had a great time and the food was very good. The fire dance was cool as well and the MC was very friendly and you knew all the stories he was telling were true. A true Hawaiian experience! Oh, for only another 20 bucks i'd recommend the premium seating so you are right up in the show!

This is far from any traditional luau experience where the typical and expected food and Polynesian show has been conceptualized to provide a very unique Hawaiian culinary and entertainment experience. The narrative is centered around history rather than mythology, unusual for a luau. They moved us indoors because they thought it was going to rain. The food was tasty and filling, service was good, show excellent and informative and the ambiance of this pink hotel was magic ... oh and it's open bar too!!!

I try to come to Hawaii as often as I can, and I have been to a lot of different luaus, and the Royal Hawaiian is without a doubt the best I have ever attended.

The food is utterly mouthwatering and they have the perfect combination of traditional and modern cuisine. I must say that the MC was great and had a fantastic way of intertwining stories about the food and the entertainment together. The dancing, singing and of course the fire knife dance just blew me away. So glad that I decided to do this!

This is a new show being offered by the Royal Hawaiian. I had attended their old show several years ago and enjoyed it so much that I thought I would check out this one. I was not disappointed! This is a great show with a wonderful easy to follow storyline. The performers were extremely talented and appeared to truly be enjoying what they were doing. I should comment that this show is designed for a more adult/senior audience where the recommended dress is less casual and the menu is very extensive and in a more formal type dining atmosphere.

This time, we added a window-side seat with a bottle of champagne as an option. Since the surrounding guests were mostly couples, it seemed unusual to have two women, but I recommend a couple's seat since you will be seated at a round table. The meal was luxurious, featuring a whole lobster! We were able to enjoy a wonderful countdown while watching fireworks rising towards Waikiki. Additionally, the hula dance show was impressive, and I wished I could have watched more. Alan.1 offers tours at lower prices compared to other tour companies. They accommodated us at a lower price this time as well due to such circumstances. I have posted an article about the cruise on my blog. I hope it conveys some of the fun we had. The seat we were guided to was right next to the stage!
In front of us was the ocean, and we could see the diamonds.
It was the best location.

We were blessed with good weather, and we thoroughly enjoyed the sound of the waves and the gradually darkening sky!
Of course, the Polynesian show and fire dance were amazing!

The welcome from the admired Lei, the band, and the hula, along with the Tahitian show, was incredibly satisfying!

The show was wonderful, but the scenery was also amazing! The buffet had a variety of local dishes, and I felt like I could fully enjoy Hawaii on this tour.

There were few Japanese participants, mostly Americans, but I was able to enjoy the meal happily.

In the background, there was Diamond Head and Waikiki Beach dyed in the sunset! It was so beautiful. My first Polynesian dance was truly wonderful and moving!

I really felt like I was in Hawaii, and it became a great memory.

My husband and I, had such an enchanting evening! Aha Aina is different from your typical "hula hula" type of luau. This event is authentic and very respectful. You have a wonderful storyteller "Uncle Joe", telling his stories about the hotel and his life growing up in Hawaii and how times have changed. You have tasty, mouthwatering appetizers that melt in your mouth! Delicious fruit drinks made upon your request with servers eager to assist you. This was such a wonderful change from those typical luaus that you would attend around the islands..such grand entertainment, succulent food and exceptional service! I would highly recommend this dinner show for people who want to experience what Hawaii actually has to offer!

Last year, I watched the New Year's Eve fireworks on the beach in Waikiki, and this year, I signed up to see the fireworks from the sea while enjoying delicious food. Upon entering the main entrance of DFS Galleria, I was greeted by a staff member in uniform. I was guided by bus to Aloha Tower, and there were guides at key points, which made me very excited about the upcoming cruise. Once on board, I was welcomed with champagne, and on the tables were props like hats and whistles to enhance the atmosphere, building up the excitement. Inside the ship, lively band music filled the air, and songs from various countries were performed upon request. Dishes were served on plates at the tables, and although I dislike meat, the lobster dish was more than enough for me. After a fun time with a dance segment for newlywed couples, the hula dance began. As various hula dances concluded, the countdown started, and fireworks and sounds echoed from Ko Olina and other places. Finally, a grand fireworks display began from the ship in front of Aloha Tower. Overwhelmed by the magnificence of the fireworks up close, I offered words of gratitude for the past year and prayed for a good year ahead for myself and my family, enjoying a wonderful moment. I sincerely thank everyone who made this amazing experience possible.

　昨年ワイキキの浜辺で大晦日の花火を見て、今年は、美味しい食事を食べながら、海から花火を見ようと申し込みをしました。DFSギャラリアで、正面玄関に入っていくと制服を着た方が出迎えてくれました。アロハタワーまでバスで案内されましたが、要所要所で案内が立っており、これからのクルーズが、とても期待が持てました。船内に入るとウエルカムシャンペンをいただき、席には、帽子や笛など会場を盛り上げる小道具が置いてあり、いよいよ雰囲気が盛り上がります。船内では、軽快なバンドの音が鳴り響き、リクエストに応じて各国の歌が披露されていました。プレートに盛り付けた料理が卓上に置かれ、私は、肉が嫌いでしたがロブスター料理で十分でした。新婚さんカップルに対するダンスタイムなど楽しい時間の後、いよいよフラダンスの始まりです。さまざまなフラダンスが終了し、カウントダウンが始まるころコオリナや各地で花火や音が鳴り響きます。最後にアロハタワー前の船上から盛大な花火が始まりました。間近で見る花火の盛大さに圧倒されながら、過ぎゆく年に感謝の言葉を捧げながら、本年も私や家族にとって良い年でありますようにとお祈りしながら、楽しいひと時を過ごしました。素晴らしい時間を経験させていただいた皆様方に心から感謝申し上げます。
