Had a great time at the Royal Hawaiian luau this week. It was much more than simply hula dancing and a fire show. The performances were short acts telling the story of the Hawaiian culture and history through song and dance. I could feel the passion for Hawaii in the host of the evening as he was setting the scene for each act. Interestingly, he was one of the actors in the original Hawaii 5.0!

Before the show started, it was fun to learn and actually see the process of how Hawaiian people made the material for their clothing. It was actually made of out sticks!

Food was plentiful and tasty with lots of variety. Highly recommended experience. The setting was beautiful on the lawn with the beach and an amazing view of Diamond Head in the background. A very special evening!

What a wonderful evening. Perfect location, beach front right at the heart of Waikiki, with a beautiful views from Diamond Head. The Royal Hawaiian Hotel is the most tradition hotel in Waikiki, the staff is very friendly and always ready to help you.
Before the dinner and the show start you can learn more about Hawaiian traditions. The buffet has a big variety of dishes and the food was very tasty. The drinks were very good too.
The storytelling of the show is very interesting they talk about Hawaiian history starting when the first Polynesians arrived, passing by the Royalty time and until it became the 50th state. The dancers and the singers are fantastic!
Great evening under the starts, good food and friends. I would definitely come back again and I I recommend Aha Aina Luau to everybody!

I went with three people, and when my two friends stepped away, the people around me kindly spoke to me. Everyone was considerate of me being alone, and it turned into a fun dining experience. The stage was amazing! The food and drinks were excellent! It was a bit pricey, but I enjoyed it thoroughly.

This time, I participated with my parents and my husband, making a group of four. Even my parents, who usually complain a lot, were excited for their first countdown and had a great time.
We reserved a window seat with sparkling wine, and that was a great choice!
The food was also impressive, with a magnificent lobster and tender steak. I was very satisfied!

Every year, I spend New Year's in Hawaii. This year, I decided to spend it on the Star of Honolulu and made a reservation. I chose the most luxurious plan, but when I got there, they packed in too many guests. The view from the front of the second deck was nice, but the amount of food served after 10 PM was overwhelming, and the meat was cold. The service was good, but I could hear the conversations of the people next to me.

The live jazz was great, but the neighboring room on the second deck seemed more casual with its food and had a hula show, which looked like more fun.

About 20 minutes before the countdown, we were guided to a spot where we could see the fireworks easily, but just before it started, there was an announcement in Japanese saying that the view was better from the opposite side. Everyone suddenly started moving to the other side, and when I asked the staff, they said it could be seen from both sides. Since the foreign guests didn't understand the announcement, many stayed put, and in the end, those who didn't move had a great view of the fireworks around Waikiki River and the Rum Fire area.

On the way back, we gathered again for the bus. We waited for about 20 minutes and finally headed home. I feel like it would have been better to watch from Kaka'ako Park.

一番豪華なプランにして、いざ行ってみたら、客を詰め込みすぎ。二階の船の先端で、景色は良いけど食事は22時過ぎから食べきれない量、しかも冷めてるお肉とか。サービスは良いです。席は隣の会話まる聞こえ。
ライブジャズは良かったけど、二階の隣の部屋はリーズナブルな所なのか料理も少しカジュアルで、フラショーなどがあり、そちらの方が楽しそうでした。
カウントダウンの20分前に案内されて花火が見えやすい所を陣取っていたら、直前に日本語で反対から見えます、とアナウンス。一斉に皆反対に行きだし、スタッフに聞いたら反対からも見えますと。外国の方はアナウンスがわからないのでそのままだったりして、結局は移動しない方がワイキキ川、ラムファイヤーのあたりの花火がよく見えました。
帰りはまたバスに集合。20分くらい待ち、ようやく帰路につきました。
カカアコパークから見た方がよかったな、という気がします。

I went with a group of about 10 friends. We are between 21-26. We had a great time there was music playing. 2 drinks of your choice and unlimited champagne. I was wondering if it would actually be unlimited but sure thing I kept my glass and kept going for refills. We had a brilliant view of the fireworks!! We had a blast seeing in the new year. Slightly less time on the boat than expected. But we had a great night!! hau’oli makakiki hou!

I made a reservation for the premium seats and attended with my daughter. It seemed that the seats were predetermined, as we were guided to a seat overlooking the diamond bed at the front row of the stage when we handed over the voucher at the reception. We shared a table with a 50-year-old American woman who was attending alone and a large Chinese family, and it was enjoyable to communicate in broken English. The atmosphere of the oceanfront garden at the Royal Hawaiian was fantastic, and the buffet had a wide variety of dishes that were quite delicious. The price is high, but I recommend it for those who want to enjoy the show in an elegant setting.

The main purpose of this trip was to finally see the Royal Hawaiian Luau show, which I had to sadly forgo during my last visit to Hawaii due to not being able to make a reservation.

Among all the luau shows I've seen, this one had the content I wanted to see the most, and the dancing was wonderful. (I personally take hula lessons, so I wanted to see the dancers up close and observe their movements and steps!)

Typically, when comparing the ratio of hula to Tahitian dance in luau shows, there tends to be more Tahitian. However, this show had a higher proportion of hula (both Kahiko and Auana), making it a must-see for hula dancers. The outdoor setting, with Diamond Head and the ocean as the backdrop, was also fantastic.

I would love to go again! However, since the interactions and story are presented in English, a good command of the language is essential...

前回、ハワイに行った際に予約が取れず、泣く泣く断念したロイヤルハワイアンのルアウショーを見に出かけるのが、今回の旅の１番の目的でした。
今まで見てきたルアウショーの中で一番、自分自身が見たかった内容で踊りも素晴らしかったです。（自分自身がフラを習っており、ダンサーの踊る姿やステップを踏む姿が間近で見たかったのです！）

普通、ルアウショーだとフラとタヒチアンの割合を比較するとタヒチアンの方が多いのですが、こちらはフラの割合（カヒコ・アウアナ）が高く、フラダンサーには必見な内容だと思います。
屋外で、かつダイヤモンドヘッドと海を背景なんて、ロケーションも素晴らしかったです。
また見に行きたいと思います！
しかしながら…英語で会場のやり取りやストーリーが展開されるので、語学力が必須かと。。。

Since there were many guests, the seats were quite cramped. I reserved a window-side table for two, but I felt a bit uncomfortable with the person next to me being so close. I quickly finished my meal and enjoyed the fireworks outside. Everyone seemed to enjoy the singing and dancing together.

We participated as a family of three. The food was delicious, and the show and the group dance were very enjoyable, but... the seats were just too cramped. With someone sitting next to you, it was hard to get up, and when the food and drinks were brought out, there wasn't enough space on the table, so we had to eat quickly, which felt a bit uncomfortable. I wish there was a little more room between the seats in front, behind, and on the sides.

The boat was in nice condition, the crew was fun and friendly, told us about the safety and service when we came onboard. Drinks were great and the view of the fireworks were impressive. Smoth ride and a beautiful evening.... could have been more seats outside. Strongly recommend it if you want a cosy and romantic night. Bring warm clothes. :)

The history of Hawaii was tastefully and elegantly done. The fire dancer was totally awesome. The chance to meet the cast after the performance was great, it allowed me to connect with them on a personal basis.

For those of use who prepaid for the deluxe accommodations the check in process was not good. There was no express check in. I had to stand in line with everyone else who had not prepaid and who was not purchasing the deluxe package! So the check in process totally circumvented what I paid for. Yes, I got to sit closer to the stage and got a different lei but that was it. So I don't know that the deluxe price was worth it.

I actually wanted to upgrade, but there were groups from other countries, so I gave up. The alcohol was all-you-can-drink, and I ended up drinking too much. The show was for adults, but I enjoyed the hula dance show and other performances.

I made a reservation because I wanted my mother, who was visiting Hawaii for the first time for our wedding, to see something truly Hawaiian. Since I booked a standard reservation, we arrived 30 minutes early to line up for seats. We were second in line, so we were shown to a good seat. It was a special night at the only ocean view outdoor stage in Waikiki. The fire dance was amazing. My mother dressed up and said she really felt like she was in Hawaii, which made me very happy. She was delighted when she was stopped by one of the performers when she returned from the restroom. The food was also delicious.

わたしたちの結婚式で来てもらったハワイ初めての母に、ハワイらしいものを見てもらいたいと思って予約しました。
ｽﾀﾝﾀﾞｰﾄﾞで予約したため、席は集合３０分前に行って並びました。２番手だったので、良い席に通してもらいました。ワイキキで唯一のオーシャンビューでも野外ステージで、特別な夜でした。ファイアーダンスがすばらしかったです。

This was my second time participating. The last time (two years ago) was really great, so I joined again. Unfortunately, due to bad weather, it was held indoors, which was a bit disappointing. The fire dance was the only part that took place outside, but the wind was strong, and it was unfortunate to see the dancer getting the flames on their body and face. Since it was my second time, and almost everything was the same as last time, I don't think I want to participate again. However, it did create good memories in Hawaii. I go to Hawaii every year, so I hope more new shows will be added.

Expected a spectacular show with lots of fire and dance. It rained right before the start of the show so it had to be moved inside. Not your fault, but completely deflated the mood. I would rather of been refunded. Too expensive of a ticket to be moved indoors and be satisfied. Very disappointed in the show. Not what we expected.

I splurged on a premium seat.
I was seated in the front row center and enjoyed the show.
However, there were many people from other countries,
and I couldn't say that the conversation flowed with the Americans and Australians at my table.
(It's probably because I can't speak English.)
The luau was wonderful, especially the final fire dance, which was spectacular.
The food was just okay.
I'm glad I decided to participate.

I took my seat at 5:30 PM, but the female host was dragging on with a talk show-like format until the show started, which was boring. Additionally, there were several downpours during the event, and the response for towels and umbrellas was slow, leaving us soaked... Of course, the dishes were also wet... It was disappointing that, despite reserving a high-priced seat, the meal was served later on.

The hula dance show was fantastic. It was great. However, I feel that the Hilton, which hosts events every Friday, had better food, shows, and staff service.

17時半から席に着きましたが、ショーが始まるまで女性の司会がダラダラとトークショーのような感じで時間を繋いでいたのが退屈でした。また、途中スコールが何度も降りましたが、タオルや傘の対応が遅く、びしょびしょに・・・。食器も当然びしょびしょ・・・。高い席を予約したのに、食事も後の方に出てきたのが残念せした。
フラダンスショーは最高でした。良かったですよ。
でも、毎週金曜開催のヒルトンの方が食事もショーもスタッフの対応も良かった気がします。

I read the reviews in advance and reserved the premium seats with less waiting time. On the day of the event, there were fewer participants, so it wasn't much different from the general seating. Since it was a round table, some people couldn't see the stage. The food was "meh," but the show was wonderful. Since it takes place in the courtyard of the Royal Hawaiian Hotel, it was a valuable experience considering the location.

The only thing missing from this Luau was the traditional pig in the ground, but the gourmet menu included pork ribs and seafood, not to mention unlimited drinks. The show was excellent. The grandmother's soothing voice-over and gentle music set a wonderful stage for the dancing and costumes. All live, of course. The historic Royal Hawaiian Ocean lawn has a view of the sea and Diamond Head. The tables and chairs were comfortable. The program explained the food in detail. If you don't want to head to another Oahu coast, this is the luau for you.

I went to see the show with my 9-year-old daughter who is learning hula. According to reviews, it was mostly Japanese people, but perhaps it was just a coincidence, as there were hardly any Japanese attendees. We splurged on premium seats, so we were able to watch the show right in front of the stage, which was truly wonderful. The performance was full of excitement. The content included dances and songs that conveyed the history of Hawaii, and it was so engaging that we were captivated the entire time. However, my daughter and I wanted to see more hula and Tahitian dance, so I deducted one star for that. Still, I think it's the best show to recommend for those who are tired of regular dance performances. Not only the show but also being able to enjoy the luxurious backdrop of Diamond Head and Waikiki Beach was amazing.

The luau was really good.. We went as a family and everyone enjoyed it. I would recommend that you request a middle table. We made our reservation (premium seats) 6 months previously and were seated at the far right table. Some of the people with regular seats had better views than our seats. Although we enjoyed it a lot it would of been nice to have the center tables to the stage especially for the premium price we paid.

The food was great as well as the service
I would highly recommend this luau to all. It was spectacular
