It was my first time in Hawaii. It was also my first time trying sport fishing. I was the only one participating in the tour, which made me quite anxious since I couldn't speak the language. On the day of the tour, we were supposed to meet before 6 AM. I thought I could walk from the hotel, but after only checking the map, I felt uneasy about going to a new place alone, so I was glad I arranged for a taxi in advance. The taxi arrived on time and took about 20 minutes to get there. Three young people were already there. I thought they were my companions, but they didn't seem very friendly, and it turned out they were there individually. A little late, a boy around sixth grade and his mother arrived. The weather was a bit cloudy, but I wasn't worried. I greeted them, but as expected, I couldn't understand much of what they said.

As we set off, we progressed into the dark dawn sea. It was more cold than refreshing, and my windbreaker came in handy. After about 20 minutes, the young captain began to slow down as he looked at the fish finder. I started to feel excited, thinking we were about to catch fish, but it turned out we were going to catch live bait. The members on board took turns catching fish that looked like mackerel, about 30 centimeters long. I think we caught around 30 fish. We were ready to go, and my excitement grew as we set off again toward our destination. The boat accelerated, and I thought we were quite far from the island, but after about an hour, the island was no longer visible. Moreover, the sea was quite rough, and the boat rocked significantly, which surprised me.

The boat was professional and exceeded my expectations with its impressive equipment. I had imagined fishing in such a boat, but unfortunately, we didn't encounter the target fish. In the end, we only caught one mahi-mahi. However, I thoroughly enjoyed the experience of serious fishing on a cruiser. The catch or lack thereof is just a matter of luck. I was happy to have had this experience. Although there was a language barrier, the captain was considerate, and it turned out to be a memorable day.

　スポーツフィッシングもはじめて。同行のツアーで、参加するのも、どうやら私一人。言葉もできないし、不安いっぱいで、当日を迎えた。
　当日、６時前の集合で、、ホテルから歩けるかと思っていたが、地図上だけの確認で、一人、初めてのところに行くのも不安だったので、事前にタクシーをお願いしていて正解だった。タクシーは、時間どうり手配されており、２０分くらいで、到着。すでに、３人の若者が、来ていた。仲間かと思っていたら、それほど親しそうでもなく、それぞれの参加だったようだ。遅れて、小学６年生くらいの男の子と、お母さんが、やってきた。天気は、やや曇りだが、心配なし。挨拶をしたが、案の定よく言葉は、わからなかった。
　出発すると、どんどん真っ暗な夜明けの海を進んでいく。すがすがしいというよりは、寒い。ウインドブレーカーが役に立つ。２０分くらい走ったろうか、しきりに、キャプテンの青年が、魚探を眺めてスピードを落とし始めた。いよいよかとワクワクし始めたら、どうも生餌を釣るということらしく、乗ったメンバーが、順番に、３０センチくらいのサバのような魚を釣り上げることになった。３０匹くらいは、釣ったと思う。準備はできた。いよいよと思ってワクワク感は、募っていく。目指す場所に向かって、再度、出発。船は、どんどん加速され、けっこう、島から離れたなあと思っていたのだが、１時間くらい走り続けただろうか、もう、島は、見えなくなってしまっていた。おまけに、沖は、それなりに、しけていて、けっこう、上下に、大きく揺れ、こんなところまで来るのかと驚いた。
　　ボートは、本格的で、私のイメージをはるかに超え、立派な装備がされていたものだった。こういう船で、マリーンは、釣るのかと勝手に、想像を膨らませていたが、なかなか、お目当ての魚に出会うことは、残念ながらなかった。結局、釣果としては、シイラ１匹だけだった。
　　でも、クルーザーに乗っての本格的なフィッシングは、十分堪能できた。釣れるつれないは、時の運。このような体験をできたことが、楽しかった。言葉の壁は、なかったわけではないが、キャプテンも、気を使ってくれ、、思い出深い１日となった。

In December, we went on a trip to Hawaii. Since we wanted to do something special that can only be done at this time of year, we participated in a whale watching tour as a couple. The weather was clear with a beautiful blue sky. We got into the pickup car in front of the hotel and headed to the port. That day, we were the only participants, making it a private cruise. The three staff members were all friendly, allowing us to enjoy the experience with peace of mind. Since the season had just started, there were reportedly very few whales, but shortly after departure, we spotted two whales! Their tails were distinctly whale-shaped, and even from a distance, I was moved to see a whale for the first time. Following the whales, a cute sea turtle appeared in front of the boat. Then, a pod of dolphins showed up! They swam energetically around the boat, having a great time. We were also captivated by the beauty of Honolulu's cityscape and beaches from the sea. It was a very enjoyable cruise. On the boat, there were drinks like juice and alcohol, as well as snacks and fruit, making for a comfortable experience.

12月のハワイ旅行。せっかくならこの時季しかできない事を、ということで夫婦でこのホエールウォッチングに参加しました。当日は快晴の気持ちいい青空。ホテル前から迎えの車に乗り込んで港へと向かいました。その日はちょうど参加者が自分達だけで、まさにプライベートクルーズ。３名のスタッフは皆親切で、安心して楽しむことができました。まだシーズンが始まったばかりだったため、クジラはかなり少ないとのことでしたが、出港してほどなく２匹のクジラが！尾ひれはまさにクジラの形で、遠目でしたが初めて見るクジラに感動しました。クジラに続いて船の前には可愛らしい海亀が登場。さらに、今度はイルカの群れが！しばらく楽しそうに船の周りをバシャバシャと元気に泳いでいました。そして、海から見るホノルルの街並みやビーチの美しさにもしばし感動。とても楽しいクルーズになりました。船では、ジュースやアルコール等の飲物の他、スナックや果物もあり、快適に過ごすことができました。

I made this booking at the last minute because my best friend from Ukraine was visiting Honolulu.

The reservation was made late at night and confirmed promptly by 8AM the following morning.

The 3 man boat crew was very polite and friendly which was fantastic. The boat and the head were clean. No complaints there.

I had made the booking with the obvious intention of viewing whales. But Mother Nature had other plans. We spent the full duration of the ride seeing just blue water, small fish and the occasional airplane flying overhead. Relaxing, but not what we had come to see.

I was very pleased that the company which provides this service has a policy regarding cruises that do not encounter any whales. Because we did not see any whales, the boat captain provided us with a voucher allowing us to take another whale watching cruise with the company at no charge. I will certainly be seeing them again soon.

Enjoyable relaxing time on the water

My wife and I did this as part of our honeymoon. And even though it was a cloudy evening and we didn't get to see the sunset, we still really enjoyed the trip. The crew was very personable and friendly. And even in choppy seas, the ride was smooth and peaceful. Got to see Waikiki from a different perspective, being on the ocean, and all lit up at night. The food was good, but the only thing that I would change is that the food could have been warmer. Overall an enjoyable time and I would recommend.

Our Makani Sunset Dinner Cruise was simply amazing!Everything about this trip was memorable-from checking in, boarding, cruising, and (sadly),returning to port.The wonderful and hospitable staff, delicious dinner, refreshing drinks, and the stunning sunset made this experience the best bang for your buck on the island. The evening started with us boarding the catamaran and choosing a seat next to the captains. We took photos and then assembled for a friendly,but thorough welcome by the small but mighty crew of three. We then fired up the bar and the engines and headed out on the ocean listening to a variety of island vibes. It was so picturesque- Heads bobbing, couples hugging, boat sailing, and the sun slowly going down.And did I mention a bridal shower group on the boat.!We chatted with others (local and first timers) and shared one common theme.....we were on the fun boat. We ate a delicious buffet of rice, colorful pasta salad, islandy tofu rolls, sweet glazed teriyaki chicken, beef and crunchy broccoli, mini egg rolls, and macadamia nut cookies (there was even food left over). The coolest part of the trip came with the sunset. We hung out on the catamaran (trampoline bed) chatting and feeling the breeze. We also took turns passing around our cameras for photo opps. As the sun disappeared into the horizon, we began to feel the 180 of the boat.While the cityscape was absolutely beautiful as it lit up the shoreline, we didn't want it to end. What an excellent adventure! Many thanks to that awesome crew for a lifetime reflection of what paradise really feels like! Mahalo!

The boat rocked, but since I took motion sickness medication beforehand, it was actually enjoyable. The staff was cheerful and fun, and before I knew it, we were flying—laughs.

I think the flight lasted about 10-15 minutes, but during that time, I was just filled with excitement. Everything else became unimportant—laughs.

There was only one other group besides me, so we didn't spend too long on the boat, but I think the more groups there are, the longer you'll be on the boat, so that's a matter of luck.

Also, I bought photos at the end, but when I looked at them after returning to Japan, there were about 30 pictures of someone completely different, which was disappointing. Even though it was on a CD-R, I should have checked during my stay.

For those who will experience this in the future, don't forget to check the photos!

船は揺れましたが、事前に酔い止めを飲んだのでむしろ楽しめる程度の揺れでした。
スタッフも陽気で楽しかったし、何より飛ぶまでの手際が良く気づいたら飛んでました笑

飛ぶ時間は10-15分程度だったと思いますが、飛んでいる間はただただ興奮しっぱなし。
全てがどうでもよくなります笑

私の他に1組だけだったのでそれほど長くは船の上にいませんでしたが、組数が多くなるほど船上での時間がおおくなるのでそこは運かなと思いました。

あと、最後に写真を購入したのですが日本に帰ってから見たら全く別人の写真が30枚ほど入っていてガッカリ。
CD-Rだったとはいえ、滞在中に確認しとくべきでした。

これから体験する方は、写真の確認も忘れずに！！

We headed to the location by rental car, but we were running late. However, seeing that we were in a hurry, the boat staff waited for us a little. Onboard, there were many families, and when the boat started moving, it felt a bit chilly, but once we entered the cabin, it was fine. The fireworks were very beautiful. Although they weren't as powerful as I expected, the view of Waikiki was stunning.

I had a great time on this trip. We were running a bit late due to a road being closed,but that didn't seem to be an issue. I liked that they called to confirm that we were still coming. The crew was great and pretty much left us to just enjoy the ride after they went through safety and other useful instructions.

We went out a decent ways but not too far out to hit the really rough waters (granted I like big waves so I would have been fine with the rougher waters). If there was any interesting wild life, they pointed it out so everyone could see.There's a drink bar. I didn't really use this for anything beyond soda. I did buy one of their cups and still think it was worth it. It's a useful cup. As for space on the boat, there was never an issue with not having enough room to look out over the railing.

Things my husband and I enjoyed about the trip:
> The view - it was quite beautiful
> The fact that it was simple - we really didn't want to do a dinner cruise or be out on a giant boat. All we wanted was to get out on the water and enjoy the view and this was absolutely perfect for that.
> Meeting new people - we had several good conversations with the people on the boat. I rather enjoyed this and it made the trip that much better.
> Sitting on the netting - it was really neat to watch the water through the netting (also comfortable to sit on)

Over all it was a very excellent experience and was exactly what we wanted. I would have been happy spending all day out on the boat. If I ever end back up in the area, I would use them again.

We were the only Japanese people. When we arrived at the location, the small boat was completely different from what I had imagined. And there was a restaurant that looked like a ruin right next to it. At first, I felt really anxious. Is this okay? Is this the right place? But after completing the procedures, it seemed to be correct. Despite my worries, we started!!

The boat allowed us to feel the waves and wind, which was really pleasant! Since there were no other Japanese people, it really felt like we were overseas! It was a fun experience that you definitely can't have on a two or three-story boat. It was like an adventure! We were also able to see the fireworks clearly, which made me very satisfied. It was an incredibly casual night cruise with a great sense of openness. I'm very satisfied!

It seemed like the crew was bored to be there with us, they had no enthusiasm whatsoever. We paid $70/each for this cruise and did not even get to take a swim break. The 1st mate was the only one that would talk with us and that was only when we asked questions. The forward sail was torn and tatered, otherwise the boat was clean.
We were told we could leave items below deck so we would not get them wet. My wife left her shorts below and when we left she realized her lipstick and hand lotion had been taken out of her pocket. We could not beleive someone would steal personal items of no value. Unbelievalbe. Change the crew out find people that are excited to be there and care about your customers.
Luxury Afternoon Sail....no way did they meet their claim

I'll write about the things I wanted to know in advance!

I went with my middle school daughter to enjoy the 130m deluxe slide. We signed up for the 11 AM pickup. There were six pairs (12 people) along with two staff members on the boat, and off we went! Right after boarding, there was a quick explanation in English, and since we were the only ones who didn’t understand, I felt a bit anxious. However, they showed us a written explanation in Japanese. The two staff members seemed accustomed to Japanese guests and were cheerful, chatting with us in broken Japanese, which made it a lot of fun.

Everyone else on the boat spoke English, so they laughed and chatted happily with the staff. The boat did sway a bit, but since I took motion sickness medicine beforehand and was enjoying the scenery, I was totally fine. We took turns jumping off (we were fourth), and as someone who is a bit afraid of heights, watching was scary! But once I jumped... it was amazing!! Up in the sky, it was quiet, and I really felt relaxed. (Everyone said this.)

When we jumped and came back down, we splashed into the sea, which was also a lot of fun! The drop was slow, so even those who aren’t fond of roller coasters would be fine (it doesn’t feel like your insides are dropping). The water was cool and refreshing, just up to my feet or waist, so there was nothing to be scared of.

I couldn’t tell the difference between 110m and 150m jumps just by looking, as I didn’t understand the English and couldn’t see how high others were jumping. The staff offered a photo service for $30, and everyone seemed to order it. Based on reviews, opinions were mixed, but I thought it was great! The photos included shots of the sea, waiting, jumping, and staff photos. Since they took pictures of all six pairs doing the same movements, I think everyone’s photos looked similar.

Payment is made when you get off the boat. I had no idea how much to tip, so I paid $30 plus $10, totaling $40. I still don’t know if that was good, haha. (Three out of the six pairs paid by card.)

I only brought one phone because I thought it might get wet, but it was totally fine on the boat (nothing got wet), and everyone was taking pictures freely. I was wondering what to do with my wallet and valuables, but it didn’t feel like something to worry about. Everyone just put their bags in the storage under the seats.

After finishing, there was no place to change, but the driver was waiting for us to take us back to our hotel, so we just wiped off a bit and hopped on the trolley in our swimsuits. When we dried off a bit, we put on the dresses or shorts we had brought. The trolley was almost empty, so it was totally fine.

The pickup bus was on time, and even without understanding English, everything went smoothly. Overall, it was a lot of fun! The foreigners who rode with us tried to communicate with gestures, saying things like, “Looks scary!” When my daughter said the seats were hot, one of them offered their towel to put down. The two staff members and the driver were all kind, and it was just wonderful! I definitely want to go again! The parachute design is cool with a pirate theme!

2人組が6組(12人)とスタッフ2人で船に乗りいざ出発！
乗ってすぐ英語でばーっと説明があり 英語がわからないのは私たちだけだったのでちょっと不安になったけど 日本語で書いてある説明書きを見せてくれました。スタッフの2人は日本人にも慣れているようで陽気で明るく片言の日本語で話しかけてくれたりするので とても楽しかったです。
一緒に船に乗っていた方々はみなさん英語が話せる人たちだったので スタッフの方の話にさらに楽しそうに笑って和気あいあいと話されていましたよ♪
船はもちろん少しは揺れるけど 事前に酔い止めを飲んでいたし 景色を見ていたら全然大丈夫でした。
順番に飛んでいくのですが(私たちは4番目)高所恐怖症気味の私は見てると怖い！でも飛んだら……最高でした！！
空の上は静かで本当にリラックス出来ました♪♪(これみんな言ってました)
飛び上がって行く時や 戻って来る時に海にぽちゃんと落とされたりするのですがそれもとても楽しかったです！ゆーっくり落ちるのでジェットコースターとか苦手な人でも全然大丈夫だと思うし(内臓ひゅーっみたいにはなりません)海に浸かるのも足？腰？くらいまでで冷たくて気持ちいいので怖いとかは全くありませんでした。
高さは 英語がわかんないし 見ただけでは他の人が何m飛んでるのかわからなかったので 110mや150mとの違いはわかりませんでした。
スタッフの人に30ドルで写真を撮ってもらうサービスがあったのですが みなさん頼んでいました。体験談を見ると賛否両論ですが 私は良かったです☆基本的には海の写真 待ってる時の写真 飛び上がる時から飛んでる時の写真 スタッフの写真等です。6組分いつも同じ動きで写真を撮っていたので みんな同じ感じだと思います。
お金は降りる時に払います。チップは幾ら払えば良いのか全く分からなかったので 30ドルプラス10ドルで全部で40ドル払いました。これは今でも良かったのかわからない 笑
(6組中3組はカード払いでした)
携帯やカメラは濡れるかなと思って1コだけしか持って行かなかったけど 船の上では全然平気で(濡れるようなことはない)みんな好き好きに写真を撮っていました。
お財布や貴重品はどうするんだろうと思っていたけど そんなこと心配するような感じではありませんでした。普通にカバンに入れて 座席下の収納にみんな入れている感じです。
終わって船を降りたらどこかで着替えるとかではなく 私たちのホテルの方面は運転士さんがお迎えに来て待っててくれたので そのまま適当に拭いて 水着のままトロリーに乗り ちょっと乾いた頃に着てきたワンピースとかショートパンツを着ました。トロリーは殆ど貸し切り状態だったので それでも全然平気でした。

お迎えのバスも時間通りだし 英語がわからなくても 勝手に進んでいくなんてことはないし 全体を通してとても楽しかったです♬
一緒に乗った外人さんも私たちに
ジェスチャーとかで 怖そうだね とか話そうとしてくれたり 船の座席が熱くて娘が 熱っ！って言ったら 自分の持ってるタオルを 敷いたら良いよって貸してくれたり スタッフの2人も優しかったし 運転士さんも優しかったし めちゃめちゃ良かったです♬
またぜひ行きたいなー！！

Honolulu Deep Sea Fishing Charter - Full Day Shared Trip

This was our first charter fishing trip both of us had ever taken. It was an unforgettable one at that. Captain Tony and Kelly were excellent guides and shared so much knowledge about both fishing and Hawaii in general. Both Captain Tony and Kelly warned us typically spring time is when fishing is best and summer time is a bit slower,but sometimes the fish surprised them. We ended up catching a Mahi Mahi and another gentleman caught a small tuna. Both catches were very exciting! Captain Tony helped guide us as the fish was being reeled in and most importantly making sure we were safe. If we ever make it back to Hawaii we will most definitely go fishing with them again but make it a full day fishing trip. Even if we had not caught fish it was nice to sit back and relax out on the Pacific.

This gets any star at all because we enjoyed the water and the sailboat. The ad for it is a total scam. It should say "come aboard our sailboat and let Mother Nature wave you around for exactly one hour and forty five minutes. ". It is a misleading ad as it says they have spared no cost in treating us to a lux cruise on board with Bose sound and large screen tv. Really? I think I may have heard a radio and who wants a tv anyway so why advertise it. They give you a drink ticket and when hmm husband ordered a Heineken she passed him some crappy off brand can. The Heineken was only available for purchase once you redeem your free ticket. The ad also talks about wildlife and don't really count on any. It is not a cruise to a specific place where there are known sea life. So, two stars one for the boat even tho the sail had a big rip in it and one star for the crew who showed us how to use a life jacket. The rest of it is the beautiful nature of the water which all of the scammers are taking advantage of as they steal tourists money.

The staff were unique and explained things clearly, even with their broken Japanese, which was great. The wind felt nice, and I was very satisfied.

Since I was in Hawaii, enjoying the beautiful tropical sea, I decided to try the classic activity of parasailing! I went for the extreme ride at 150 meters! It was thrilling when we were deliberately dropped into the sea as we left the boat! The vast blue ocean and the distant view of Honolulu were breathtaking, making me feel at ease despite the height. I highly recommend this experience if you visit a southern island.

However, I was disappointed that the photo service provided by the staff did not include the pictures I was hoping for on the CD-R we received at the end.

Depending on the wind, the parasail can come close to directly above the boat, reaching nearly 110 meters in height; if it drifts, it won't reach that height. During our participation, there was a north wind, so when we returned from offshore to Waikiki, we went higher compared to the members on the way out. However, since it feels like you are "floating" in the air, I don't think you'll feel scared. Since Waikiki is on the southern coast, if you want your face to look good in photos, I recommend boarding when heading out to sea. On the way back, the lighting is somewhat backlit, so your face may appear darker in the pictures. The crew took about 40 photos for a fee of $30, and this price applies whether you are a group of two or four. What I don't understand is the "tip." On the boat, there was a note in Japanese stating that "the fee does not include tips," which I believe means they want tips from Japanese customers. In such services, I’m not sure how much to give, and I ended up giving more than I intended. Many Americans did not seem to give tips, but it would be helpful to know the standard.

I highly recommend this tour for those who are proficient in English or currently studying it! It was the tour where I felt the most like I was abroad, with mostly Westerners participating. It was delightful to enjoy the beautiful sunset with people from around the world. The music playing added to the charm! I found myself enjoying the tunes of Michael Jackson and the Beach Boys, and I ended up drinking a bit too much and getting a little tipsy. Haha!

Parasailing was my first experience, but the staff's instructions were easy to understand and they were very friendly, so I had a great time! There was a service (for an additional fee) that took pictures of me while I was on the ride, which made for wonderful memories!

It was my first time parasailing in Hawaii, so I was nervous, but I was relieved that my broken Japanese was understood and there were Japanese instructions available. There were four groups of participants, and everyone was very kind, waving when we took off and applauding when we landed. The atmosphere was very friendly throughout. It felt amazing while flying too!

I chose the 150m plan. It seems they determine the order of jumps based on the length of the rope, and we were the last of the five groups. The boat swayed a bit, but it was manageable as I gazed into the distance. No one got seasick, perhaps because the weather was nice.
The sky walk allows you to leisurely feel like a bird!
The $30 photo service included 135 photos, including videos during the sea splash! I wasn't too keen on it at first, but I thought it would be a shame not to, and it turned out to be a great decision! The two crew members were very service-oriented. There was no pressure to tip, and they made us laugh with occasional Japanese, making it a fun experience.
I also took photos from the air with a waterproof camera!

It was my first time parasailing!

Unfortunately, the weather was not great with some rain and cloudy skies, which made the view disappointing, but it gave me a reason to challenge myself to try again next time! (laughs)

I had seen reviews mentioning that some people couldn't get on the trolley, so I was worried, but I was able to board the trolley without any issues. The staff mainly spoke English, but they also spoke a little Japanese, and for the important explanations, they provided a sheet written in Japanese, which was reassuring.

The parasailing experience itself was simply amazing! It was a unique experience to look down at Waikiki from above the ocean, which was really great. The boat was quite rocky, and while I didn't get seasick, those who are prone to motion sickness might want to take some medication just to be safe. However, the day I participated, the sea was unusually rough, so it might have been particularly bumpy...

パラセイリング自体は最高の一言！
上からワイキキを海から見下ろすなんて事はなかなかできない体験だったのでとてもよかったです。
船の上ではかなり揺れが激しく、私は酔いませんでしたが酔いやすい方は酔い止めを飲む方が安心かもしれません。
ただ、私が参加した日は現地の方も珍しいという程海が荒れていたので特別揺れただけかもしれませんが…
