I participated in this tour in early February 2023. One of the things I wanted to do in winter Hawaii was whale watching, and since my hotel was Aulani, I joined this tour departing from Ko Olina Marina.

It takes about 25 minutes to walk from Aulani to Ko Olina Marina, and about 5 minutes by car. The tour included four alcoholic drinks, so I walked there instead of driving, but I was a bit tired on the way back (^_^;).

Upon arriving at the marina, the check-in area was easy to find. I signed in on the list, received a wristband, used the restroom, and boarded the boat. There were about 15 to 20 guests at that time, but we were the only Japanese group. All the explanations were in English, but a young Japanese male staff member came later to explain in Japanese, and he also supported us during snorkeling, which was very helpful!

After the boat headed out to sea, we encountered a mother and baby whale! I was incredibly excited to see the whales spouting water and their tails coming up to the surface with my own eyes! Since it was an evening tour, we didn’t see any dolphins, but I was very satisfied to have encountered the whales.

After that, we went to the snorkeling point and enjoyed snorkeling. During this time, we encountered a sea turtle. I was moved to see it coming up from the bottom of the ocean for air, floating on the surface, and then returning to the ocean floor, all from a very close distance! The water was a bit cold during this season, but I was glad I participated in snorkeling! After snorkeling, it was chilly, so I changed from my swimsuit to regular clothes in the boat's restroom. The restroom was a bit spacious with shelves, making it suitable for changing. There were two restrooms, one on each side at the back.

After snorkeling, we enjoyed dinner and the sunset. The dinner was served on a single plate, but it was piled high, so I was full! The taste was also delicious. The sunset from the boat was absolutely beautiful.

I think this is a highly recommended activity for those staying around Ko Olina!

2023年2月上旬に参加しました。
冬のハワイでやりたい事がホェールウォッチングで、宿泊ホテルがアウラニだったのでコオリナマリーナから出発するこちらのツアーに参加しました。

アウラニからコオリナマリーナまでは歩いて片道25分くらい、車だと片道5分くらいです。ツアーにアルコールが4本かな？含まれていたので車は使わずに歩いて行きましたが帰りはちょっと疲れました(^_^;)

マリーナに到着して受付の場所はわかりやすかったです。名簿に記帳してリストバンドを付けて、御手洗を済ませてボートに乗り込みます。
この時は15名？20名？？くらいお客さんが居ましたが日本人は私たちのグループだけでした。
色々な説明は全て英語でしたが、若い日本人男性のスタッフさんがあとから日本語で説明しに来てくださって、その後のシュノーケルもサポートしてもらえたのでとても助かりました！

ボートが沖に出て少しするとクジラの親子に遭遇出来ました！肉眼でクジラの潮吹きや海面の上に出てきた尾びれを見られてものすごく興奮しました！夕方のツアーなので時間的にイルカは見られませんでしたがクジラに遭遇出来たので大満足でした。

その後シュノーケルポイントに行って、シュノーケルを楽しみました。この時に海亀に遭遇出来ました。海の底から息をにし浮上してくる様子や海面をぷかぷかしている様子、また海の底に帰って行く様子を近づくことが出来るギリギリの距離で見られて感動しました！
この時期の海はちょっと寒かったですが、でもシュノーケル参加して良かったです！
シュノーケルの後は寒かったのでボートのおトイレで水着から私服に着替えました。おトイレは少しだけ広めで棚とかがあったので着替えスペースも兼ねている感じでした。おトイレは後方左右に1つずつ計2つありました。

シュノーケルが終わるとディナーとサンセットを楽しみます。ディナーはワンプレートですがモリモリに盛ってもらえたのでお腹いっぱいになりました！味も美味しかったです。ボートからのサンセットもすごく素敵でした。

コオリナ周辺で宿泊されている方にはとてもおすすめのアクティビティだと思います～。

I thought it would get dirty, but it didn't get dirty at all.
We visited three filming spots.
I was looking forward to the Jurassic Park area, but we couldn't film at the places we wanted to go.
The bus tour went to a different filming location with the buggies. I was a bit shocked, but the fun outweighed that.
I panicked a bit when I mistakenly put on the seatbelt wrong and the speed wouldn't pick up, but the instructor fixed it for me, and after that, everything went smoothly.
I didn't understand the English, but I had a great time.

I participated with my daughter. After dinner, we wanted to see the fireworks at Hilton, and we ended up here after searching for a while. The dining area on the boat had a low ceiling and felt very cramped, which was overwhelming at first, but I quickly got used to it. The waiter's attentiveness was wonderful, and we were able to enjoy our meal. However, the crab legs were difficult to eat, and I ended up leaving most of it. I wished I had a crab fork. The meat was tender and very delicious. The atmosphere during the meal and the show afterward was very lively, and we enjoyed not only the fireworks but also the other activities. Overall, we had a wonderful time. Thank you!

お肉は柔らかくてとても美味しかったです。

I went to the location by rental car since it was mentioned that there was a validation service. When I showed the parking ticket to the staff and asked about it, I was told that the service is not available this year. It seems there was an error in the information provided, which is disappointing.
During the cruise, I was able to enjoy taking photos of Waikiki and Diamond Head from the sea.
As the ship was returning to the port, there was an announcement at 9 o'clock that something would be visible, and the ship moved a bit, but then there was another announcement at 10 o'clock, unfortunately, I couldn't see it. It seemed that many others also missed it. Even if some people were able to see it, it appears that rescheduling is not guaranteed for those who couldn't, which is unfortunate.
It is very cold on the ship, so a jacket is a must.

always wanted to paddle out to the sandbar, but unfortunately picked the gale force wind day of the week to try it. On arrival seeing the white caps and some amateur kayakers struggling to paddle 10ft in the wind, basically paddling in place, I knew that this was going to be a rough adventure. Talking to the young staff girl, she stated that we could get a refund for the inclimate weather and typed it into the notes to the booker veltra. I said absolutely and we'll save this adventure for a different day. Thankyou state park girl, and because of that I would book this again.

You can enjoy a beautiful night view. The floor is divided into three sections, and since we had young children and couldn't eat much, we opted for the buffet. It was incredibly lively, which surprised us, but the menu included salads, yakisoba, and roast beef. The taste was just okay. There was quite a long line. The desserts were very sweet. The other floors seemed to have a more relaxed atmosphere with French course meals. The post-dinner live concert was full of singing and dancing, creating a lively atmosphere. We waited on the rooftop deck for the fireworks, which started an hour earlier while being blown by the wind, but there were fewer launches than we expected. It felt like many people were there more for the party and the night view than for the fireworks. It gets a bit chilly at night, so having a cardigan or jacket would be good.

It was still a bit chilly for swimming, so there were few people, allowing us to fully enjoy the quiet and beautiful waters of Hawaii. The pizza for lunch had a mountain of minced garlic on it, so it might be a bit much for those sensitive to smells. In the afternoon, we went to the city and found many toys and goods from the popular Canadian anime, Paw Patrol, which we were able to purchase.

The day was so fun and easy. The transportation met us at the collection point (and returned us in the afternoon). At the boat jetty, we were welcomed with Alohas. We spent some time on the sandbar to explore, and play a game of volleyball. We then gently motored for some turtle spotting. After that, we were taken to the beautiful coral reef where we snorkelled and flippered around, what a sensation! I thoroughly enjoyed the BBQ and hot chocolate!

I participated in other activities as well, but my high school-aged child said this was the most fun. My elementary school-aged daughter was scared of snorkeling and couldn't get in the water, so she didn't enjoy it as much. I thought it was great to experience various cultures through songs and dances. There were many staff members, so I felt safe participating. I highly recommend this tour.

I made a reservation as a gift for my parents.

The flow of the experience was as follows:
- Welcome dance at the boarding area
- Buffet (you can only take food once)
- Dance show
- Fireworks viewing at Hilton (only on Fridays)
- Show (audience participation)

The buffet was quite delicious, much better than it looked, and I think it would appeal to Japanese tastes.

Additionally, the boat has three floors for seating, but during the dance show, you remain seated while dancers come to each floor to perform. I believe they danced Polynesian and hula dances.

The second-floor seating (for those who chose the buffet) did not have air conditioning, and it felt breezy from the windows, so it wasn't freezing. However, the first-floor seating (for those who chose a better course than the buffet) looked very cold.

Since I boarded after sightseeing at Iolani Palace, I didn't request transportation for the tour and used Uber to return, which cost about $15 including the tip. If you're participating with 3 or 4 people, you might not need to request transportation.

If you use the bus, you can return for $3 one way on the local bus.

By the way, because there are many passengers using Uber, it can be hard to catch one after disembarking, so it's smoother to call for one while on board or make a reservation.

ビュッフェはどの料理も見た目よりもかなり美味しく、日本人の口にも合うと思います。

また、船には客席用に3フロアありますが、ダンスショーは席に座ったままで、各フロアにダンサーが来て踊ってくれるような感じでした。
ポリネシアンダンス的なものと、フラダンスを踊っていたと思います。

私が乗った2階席(ビュッフェを選択した人)は、クーラーはなく、窓から風が吹き込んでくる感じだったので極寒ではありませんでしたが、1階席(ビュッフェよりも良いコースを選択した人)はとても寒そうでした。

イオラニ宮殿などの観光をしてから乗船したため、ツアーの送迎は頼まず、帰りはUberを使ってtip込みで15ドルくらいで帰りました。
3.4名で参加する方は送迎を頼まなくても良いかもしれません。
the busを使うと、片道3ドルで路線バスを使って帰れます。

ちなみに、Uberは乗船客が多いからか、下船してから呼ぶと捕まりにくいので、乗船中に呼ぶか、予約するとスムーズに帰れます。

I thought I had booked a shuttle service via email for the day of the show, but when I checked close to the start time, I found out there was no shuttle. The show was about 50 minutes away from the hotel, and since the cost was around 100,000 yen for four people, I couldn't give up and quickly took a taxi instead.

After arriving, I was worried about getting a taxi back, so I showed the staff a translated message asking if they could call a taxi when the show was over. They said, "OK!" Surfing success! 波乗り成功！

My spouse and I tried surfing for the first time together. Initially, we just hoped to be able to stand up by the end of the lesson, but surprisingly, I managed to stand up on my first attempt. After repeating it several times, I was even able to strike a pose while standing by the end. Thanks to the cheerful and kind staff, we enjoyed this quick activity immensely.

It was also fun to communicate with participants from various countries while surfing (even if you can't speak English, it's fine to go with the flow; they will cheer you on if you catch a wave well). Additionally, there’s an option to have the day's activities filmed (with drone footage and photos), which I highly recommend for taking home memories.

You can store your belongings in lockers, so it's convenient during your travels. I participated right after climbing Diamond Head early in the morning, and it was no problem at all. The area around the surfing lesson has shallow waters with some rocks, so it might be good to have band-aids and disinfectant just in case.

夫婦揃って初めてのサーフィンに挑戦しました。
当初は、レッスンの最後までに立ち上がれるようになればいいくらいの気持ちで参加しましたが、なんと1回目で立ち上がることに成功。
その後も何度も繰り返して、最後の方には立ち上がってポーズを決めることができるまでになりました。
明るく親切なスタッフの皆さんのおかげで、あっという間のアクティビティを楽しむことができました。
色々な国の方が参加されているので、その人たちともコミュニケーションを取りながらサーフィンをすることができるのも楽しかったです。(英語はできなくてもその場のノリで大丈夫。上手く波にのることができたら褒めてくれます。)
また、オプションで当日の模様を撮影してもらうことが出来る(ドローンを用いた映像と写真)ので、思い出に持ち帰ることもおすすめです。
ロッカーに荷物を預けることができるので、旅の途中にもOK。早朝ダイヤモンドヘッド登頂からそのまま参加しましたが、問題なしです。
サーフィンレッスン付近は浅瀬で所々岩があるので、万一に備えてバンドエイドや消毒液があるとなお良いかもしれません。
