Great entertainment and the fire dance was awesome. The buffet was very good, the entertainment prior to the main show was very good. The show was worth every penny.

It was less scary than I expected, and while flying, it felt like time had stopped, which was a strange sensation. The ocean was beautiful, and it became a wonderful memory of Hawaii. The instructor was very energetic and made it a lot of fun.

Definitely a ‘must activity’ at Gunstock Ranch!

Our guide was cheerful, efficient (this is important when getting novices into a wetsuit!), and informative. She asked us what we wanted to see, and when my daughter said turtles, she took us straight to two turtles after an introductory snorkel lesson. This was my second trip to Hawaii, and I was so glad I finally took a lesson. For the next week, I was able to finally relax, enjoy, and see a lot of interesting sea life. The snorkel at Haunama was spectacular also.

BOB's Hawaii Underwater Scooter Adventure & Turtle Watching Tour

First, allow me to emphasize just how professional and engaged the divers, driver and the captain was on this experience. Seriously these guys were fantastic .. they were always attentive, showed understanding and you felt in very capable hands the whole time. This aspect was important to my wife as she had some very serious apprehensions about doing this ..but being a dutiful husband I badgered her until she agreed :-) .. took a few weeks.

The pre-trip meeting answered any questions we had and explained the workings of the submersible in terms of engaging the motor .. but nothing in regards to steering the vessel which i thought interesting.

We had a big group of approx 20 people so we just all fitted on the small boat. The seas were a little rough so a few people got a little woozy but nothing too bad.

My wife and I were one of the first to try out the scooters and the process to get in them was simple and effective .. no diving underwater to get in them .. this was a relief to my wife. We were in the water almost immediately and already could see fish in the distance. So we were very excited !

Here is where i was a little disappointed .. we had been trained to use foot pedals to engage the motor for the propellor but mine seemed to be a much older model and had the button on the steering column. No big deal i guess except i had an underwater camera with me and hence could not use it while the motor was engaged, which is approx 80% of the time. Consequently i was unable to take many photos .. disappointed.
I now understood why we were not taught the steering of the submersible ..you don't steer it ..there is a diver that holds onto 2 of the vessels the whole time and steers it. This was disappointing as i had no control on where to go.

In summary this was a FANTASTIC experience and again i want to emphasize how good the divers and crew were .. BUT it felt more like an amusement park ride than what the marketing suggests.

Since I was planning to go to the North Shore in the afternoon, I chose this plan without a shuttle service. I arrived by rental car, and although there was no bench at the meeting point "Deli," the local staff were accommodating, so it wasn't a problem. I was worried about whether the tour would proceed due to the rain in the morning, but we only experienced a delay in preparation because of the rain, and we departed 15 minutes later with two boats. Everyone was Japanese, and it seemed that many participants were those who had taken the shuttle from Waikiki. Perhaps there was a Japanese-speaking guide. Despite the rain getting stronger at times, I didn't feel seasick, and we were able to see both sea turtles and manta rays. The water at Sandbar was about knee-deep, but I was very satisfied that we could land there. I didn't have high expectations for snorkeling, but there were life jackets available, so it was completely fine even if you couldn't swim. There were about 40 people swimming in lines along the coral reef, and since the time was limited and we swam the same route back and forth, it was crowded. My child was more concerned about bumping into the feet of the person in front or hitting the coral rather than looking at the fish, so it might have been better to wait on the boat. If there were English speakers present, that behavior wouldn't have happened. However, I have great respect for the local staff who worked hard without showing any displeasure in the rain. It seems there are no showers at the port, so I think it's better to prepare to return in wet swimsuits with towels and warm clothing. You can leave your belongings on the boat, but since there are no waterproof bags, it's also good to prepare for that.

It was raining in the morning, and the venue was changed, making it very difficult for non-staying guests at Hilton Hawaiian Village to find the location! Among them, a family from NJ seemed to be staying in the tower with the ballroom after the change, and although it was unrelated to the show, the concierge we asked at the hotel was not very helpful. The venue felt like a large wedding hall and had a smaller number of attendees, but we had seats in the front center, where we could closely watch lei-making and even get temporary tattoos done by magicians. The children had a great time as well. They came to our seats to take drink orders for three rounds, and we were allowed to go to the buffet first, with both the food and desserts being delicious. The show started quite early, so I was very grateful for the priority seating. I arrived at the meeting place 10 minutes late due to a misunderstanding about the meeting time. Naturally, the bus had already departed, so I took a taxi. It cost about 10,000 yen, so let's make sure not to be late for the bus next time.

The locker fee allows for multiple openings and closings in one day, costing $18 (to be honest, it's expensive).

I definitely want to participate again! It was great to see dolphins and turtles up close. The instructors were all fun, and I enjoyed the travel time as well. This became my favorite memory from my 7-day trip to Hawaii, and I want to recommend it to my friends and participate again.

After snorkeling, I had a great time playing on the slide and dancing with the staff. Everything was wonderful. The day I went was sunny, but it got a bit chilly when I was in the shade after coming out of the water. Since it was an early morning tour, I still had time to play in the ocean afterward. The photo and video sales were about 10,000 yen for one family. They also sold trainer T-shirts on the bus. Thank you to the staff for a fun half-day!

Since it was April 1st, I wonder if the whale season had already passed, as I couldn't spot any. It's disappointing.
However, I was able to see parasailing from the boat, and I enjoyed lunch while cruising, so that was nice.
Lunch was a buffet style, and I made my own ham sandwich, which was delicious along with the fruit.
It would have been amazing to see even a little bit of whales; I'm really disappointed.
