I'm not very familiar with the climate of Oahu, but I always feel like the wind is strong when I leave Honolulu. This time, especially since it was December, the temperature at Sea Life Park was just warm enough to get into the water, but the strong wind made it feel very cold. It felt like swimming in a pool on a cold day.

Despite the fact that all participants were clearly cold, the program progressed quite leisurely. It might be due to the service, or perhaps they have to provide a certain amount of time for the event, but participants had to endure getting splashed by dolphins multiple times while shivering, and they hardly moved on to the important photo opportunities for kisses and handshakes. We participated with our 6-year-old and 3-year-old, but our 3-year-old gave up before the photo session and couldn't do the kiss or handshake. There were other children in the same situation.

While the instructor was very enthusiastic, I thought it would have been better if they could adapt the program a bit more flexibly considering the cold and the presence of many small children. Our 6-year-old said it was fun even though it was cold, so I think age does play a role.

So, I wouldn't recommend this for those who are sensitive to the cold or for families with small children during the cold season. By the way, the facility does not have hot showers or dryers, so after the event, we quickly changed and bundled up to recover our body temperature.

オアフ島の気候に詳しくはないのですが、いつもホノルルを離れると、風が強い気がします。今回は特に12月だったためか、シーライフパークは何とか海には入れるくらいの気温だけど、風が強くとても寒く感じました。寒い日のプールって感じでした。
そんな中、明らかに参加者全員が寒がっているにも関わらず、プログラムはかなりゆったりと進んでいきました。サービスなのかもしれないし、ある程度の時間催しを提供しなければならないのかもしれないのですが、参加者たちが震えているのに何回もイルカのスプラッシュを浴びなければならなかったり、肝心のキスや握手での写真撮影を全然進めなかったり。うちは６歳と３歳の子どもと参加しましたが、３歳の子は写真撮影の前にギブアップで、キスも握手もできませんでした。うちの他にも、同じ状況のお子さんがいました。
インストラクターの方がサービス旺盛なのはいいのですが、寒がっていて、小さい子が多いとか、もう少し状況によって臨機応変にプログラムを進めてくれればいいのにと思いました。
６歳の子は、寒くても楽しい！と言っていたので、ある程度年齢の問題はあると思います。
ということで、寒い時期、寒さが苦手な方や小さい子連れの方はオススメしません。
ちなみに施設にはお湯が出るシャワーやドライヤーはなく、終了後はとにかく着替えて厚着して体温回復しました。

We participated as a couple with our 3-year-old child. I thought it was a very good program, and here are my comments based on that impression.

It's safer to make a reservation for dates that are expected to be crowded, but the cancellation policy states, "100% of the total reservation amount after 00:00 local time two business days before the participation date." Considering that I had to cancel at the last minute due to my period and ended up just watching from the poolside, I think it would have been better to make the reservation right before going to the facility. Also, looking at the availability board on the day, not all sessions are fully booked, so if you plan to spend the whole day at the facility, it might be a good idea to make a reservation at the experience corner in the morning.

Additionally, while it is more expensive compared to typical dolphin interaction experiences in Japan, one of the attractions of this program is that it allows participation at a young age. However, when we actually participated, my 3-year-old daughter seemed terrified of the large dolphin, which approached her with its mouth wide open, making cute sounds while coming closer. She clung to her father, crying out "Scary! Scary!" with tears streaming down her face. As a result, she ended up leaving early, and her father awkwardly participated alone in a team of mostly women, making for a surreal dolphin experience. I feel sorry that her screams might have disturbed the other participants. It might be difficult for my child to enjoy this experience until she is around 5 years old. I noticed other children of a similar age from Western countries in other teams were also crying quite a bit. Parents of children in the same age group should take this into consideration.

You can purchase DVDs and photos, but as mentioned earlier, the only photos available were of the father awkwardly kissing the dolphin with a wry smile, and since you can't preview the DVD (even if you could, it would just be footage of screaming), I decided not to buy it.

Regarding photography, participants have to change and put their belongings in lockers, and you are required to remove not only cameras but also glasses and wedding rings in the pool area, so you can't take any photos or videos. Even wearable cameras like GoPros are completely prohibited. However, if you don't use a locker and can bring your bag to the pool, you can leave everything on the waiting bench in front of the pool. The waiting bench is accessible only to participants, so it is quite safe, and you can take photos right up until you enter the pool. During the experience, it's natural for the photographer to stay far away for the sake of the dolphins, so I think having one person participate as a spectator and take photos from the bench with a zoom lens would be a better approach, considering the risks involved. I felt that the pricing for spectators might have been set with such considerations in mind after participating.

夫婦と３歳の子どもでの参加でした。大変良いプログラムだと思いました、という感想ありきでの以下のコメントです。
混雑が予想される日程は予約をしたほうが安心なのですが、キャンセルポリシーに「参加日の2営業日前の現地時間00:00以降、予約総額の100%」とありましたので、直前の生理でキャンセルもせずプールサイドで見学になったことを考えると、施設へ行く直前に予約したほうが良かったと思いました。また、当日の空き状況ボードを見るとすべての回が予約で埋まるわけではないので、１日この施設で遊ぶつもりなら朝から体験コーナーの受付で予約するのもアリかなと思います。
それと、日本での一般的なイルカふれ合い体験に比べ高額ですが、低年齢での参加が可能なのがこのプログラムの魅力のひとつ。実際に参加してみると３歳の娘に実物の大きなイルカは恐怖でしかないようで、大きく口を開け頭を出してキュッキュと可愛い声で鳴きながら近づいてくるイルカの姿に鼻水を流しながら父親に抱きついてコワイ！コワイ！と絶叫しておりました。結果、娘も途中離脱し、大半を父親ひとり挙動不審になりながら女性ばかりのチームに参加するシュールなイルカ体験となりました。絶叫がうるさく、チームの参加者に不快な思いをさせてしまったと恐縮しています。うちの子は５歳くらいにならないと楽しい参加は厳しいかもしれません。他チームで同年齢くらいの欧米のお子さんもだいぶ泣き叫んでおりました。同年代の親御さんはご配慮くださいませ。
DVDと写真を買えますが、先の通り、苦笑いでイルカとキスをする父親の写真だけが並んでおり、DVDもプレビューできないので（プレビューできたにしてもどうせ絶叫映像なので）購入しませんでした。
撮影について、体験参加者は着替えてロッカーに荷物を入れてしまい、プール内はカメラはおろかメガネや結婚指輪すら外させられますので写真も動画も撮れません。ウェアラブルなGoProなんかも完全にNGです。ロッカーを使わずバッグを持ってプールへ移動でき、プール前の待機ベンチにすべて置いておけます。待機ベンチは参加者しか入れないので安全性は高い上、プールに入る直前まで写真を撮ったりできます。体験中はイルカのためを思うと撮影者は遠くに離れていて当然ですので、ひとりは見学者として参加して、ベンチからズームレンズで撮影するスタイルが今回のようなリスクも踏まえパフォーマンスが良いと思います。そもそもそういった想定の見学者価格設定なのかなと参加してみてから感じた次第です。

I signed up at the request of my children. I was worried about my 4-year-old and 6-year-old, but they were able to shake hands with the dolphins. They said kissing them smelled like fish, so they didn't do that (laughs). The dolphin pool was deeper than I expected, and since the kids couldn't touch the bottom, I had to hold them the whole time. All participants were Japanese, and we were fortunate to have a Japanese trainer. We were able to enjoy interacting with the dolphins without worrying about the language barrier. There was also an explanation about a rare dolphin-whale hybrid, which piqued our interest even more. During other times, we were able to see turtles and sharks as well. We could purchase photos and a DVD, which helped us create wonderful memories. The DVD contains footage of all participants from the same session, so it was great that we only needed one since we went as a pair.

The Royal Swim itself was very enjoyable and truly memorable! The dolphins were so cute, and although it was my first experience, I was very satisfied!!

However, when I presented the voucher at the initial check-in, I found that my reservation was set for a different date and time two days later. In the end, I was able to experience it at an earlier time than planned for that day, but I felt very anxious about not being able to communicate in Japanese and wondering if I would be able to do it after coming all this way. It was my first visit to Sea Life Park in four years. The last time I came, it was evening, so there were few guests and it felt quiet, but this time it was bustling with many visitors. It was my second Dolphin Encounter, and once again, the dolphins were so cute that I wanted to come back multiple times. There was a family with children in the same group, but it seemed that for the kids, seeing the dolphins up close was scary, and they were crying. I wondered if it might be difficult for children who aren't used to animals. Around noon, there was a dolphin show, and I watched it before leaving. The explanations were in English, so I didn't understand them at all, but the dolphin show was adorable, and I felt like cheering for them. I definitely want to go again.

4年ぶりのシーライフパークでした。以前に来た時は、夕方のためかお客さんが少なく静かなところという印象でしたが、今回はたくさんのお客さんで賑わっていました。2回目のイルカのドルフィンエンカウンターでしたが、やっぱりイルカは、かわいく何度も来たいと思いました。同じグループにお子さん連れがいましたが、子どもにとって近くで見るイルカは、恐いみたいで泣いていました。ある程度動物慣れしてる子でないと難しいのかな？と思いました。お昼頃からイルカのショーがあり、ショーも見て帰りました。英語で説明をされていて全く意味は、分かりませんでしたがイルカのショーは、かわいくて見ていて応援したくなりました。また、行きたいと思いました。

I'll never forget the blunder on our honeymoon...
It was a tour I had been looking forward to since before we left. After the wedding, we were busy moving into our new home, and due to my lack of confirmation, I ended up entering our preferred dates for the tour up to the third choice on the iPhone site. After a while, I received a confirmation email, and I mistakenly thought the first choice date was confirmed, not checking the date. On the day of the tour (the wrong date), we waited and waited for the bus, but it never arrived. Worried, I tried to call, but since it was in English, I couldn't communicate at all. In a daze, I sought help from the HIS Japanese desk, and they kindly made the call for me. The result was that the actual date was yesterday. They had called our hotel for a room call in the morning, but we didn't answer (both of us were in a deep sleep due to jet lag), so it was treated as a cancellation. There was no possibility of a refund or date change. In the end, it was quite a disappointment. Even though it was my mistake, I wish they could have at least allowed a date change! Later, I saw a charge of about 60,000 yen for both of us appear on my credit card.
One day, I will get my revenge!

忘れもしないハネムーンでの失態。。。
渡ハ前から楽しみにしていたツアー。結婚式が終わり新居に引越しドタバタしながらの申し込みだった為、自分の確認不足が原因ですが、iPhoneサイトからツアーに申し込み希望日を第3希望まで入力し、しばらくしてからリメールで確約の内容が返信されました。その際にてっきり第1希望の日で決定していたと思い込み日時を見なかったのが始まり。いざ当日(間違いの日)バスを待っても待っても来ない。心配になりTelをしてみるも英語の為全く会話にならず。放心状態でHISの日本語デスクにヘルプを求め代わりに電話をしてもらいました。結果は、本当の日時は昨日。朝ピックアップの際にホテルにルームコールしてもらったけど出ず(時差ボケで２人とも爆睡)キャンセル扱いになっている。返金も出来ない、日時変更も出来ない。という結果に終わりました。自分のミスとは言え、せめて日時変更だけでもー！！後日2人分の約6万円が見事にカード請求としてあらわれましたとさ。
いつかはリベンジするぞー！

I wear contacts, and when I asked if I should wear goggles, I was told that my head wouldn't go underwater, so it was fine to keep my contacts in, but I was advised not to wear goggles. My child wanted to kiss a dolphin, so we joined this tour. Sea Life Park is about an hour away by bus from Honolulu. The scenery was different from Honolulu, and we enjoyed our time on the bus as well. The experience of kissing and touching the dolphins was fun, and seeing them up close was truly moving. I participated in the 11 o'clock session at the end of January with my 2-year-old child.

Since we rented a car and there was no shuttle service, we arrived around 10 o'clock. At the entrance reception, we showed our voucher and received a wristband to confirm our participation.

By 11 o'clock, we had to buy a locker key at the souvenir shop located deep in the park, fill out a waiver, and change into our swimsuits, so it was quite hectic, so please be careful.

Including other families, the children were surprised by the size, height, and atmosphere of the pool, and some started crying or were reluctant. I had to carry my child and distract them with the dolphins to get in.

We entered the pool with the dolphins and took photos in three different poses, and we were able to touch their backs, bellies, and fins a lot. It was a great experience for my child, and I was satisfied.

In the back, there was a course where we could swim together, and it looked like fun. Once my child is a bit older, I would like to try the swimming course together.

1月末に2歳の子供と11時の回に参加してきました。

レンタカーで送迎無しなので、10時ごろ着いて、エントランスの受付でバウチャーを見せると参加者を証明するバンドをつけてくれます。

11時までにパーク奥にあるお土産屋さんのカウンターでロッカーの鍵を買い、誓約書を書いて、水着に着替えなければならず、結構バタバタなので、お気をつけください。

他の家族も含めて子供はプールの大きさ、高さ、雰囲気にビックリして、泣き出したり、嫌がったりしましたね。そこは抱っこして、イルカで気をそらしながら、入りました。

イルカと同じプールに入って写真を3パターン撮って、背中やお腹、ヒレなどたくさん、触る事が出来きました。子供にも良い経験になって、満足です。

奥では一緒に泳ぐコースをやっていて、楽しそうでした。もう少し大きくなったら、一緒に泳ぐコースをやってみたいです。
