Maui
The only way to hike in Hawaii with young kids! We went on this hike with our 4 boys - ages 7, 4, 2, and 5 months. We had a blast, and most importantly - so did the kids! They were so into the treasure hunt and loved hiking through “the jungle.” Highly recommend to anyone traveling to Hawaii with kids and wanting to experience it all!
How wonderful to hear that. Mahalo for sharing your awesome experience with others :-) A hui hou!
The captain does a great job of finding the whales and creating opportunities to let the whales approach. Very friendly staff made us feel welcome. The only thing I have concerns with is the lack of ability to social distance or avoid touching high traffic handrails due to safety, but luckily we brought our own hand sanitizer (which I recommend). Overall a great trip, and everyone in my group had a great time.
It was a great day of snorkeling and whale watching on the Aqua Adventures. The captain was knowledgeable and funny. He was clearly enjoying what he was doing and went out of his way to make the trip truly enjoyable. The staff was super helpful. Kudo to Aqua Adventures for a memorable day. Thank you guys! Cheers.
We had a family excursion and it was perfect. As we had 2 elderly family members, we loved that the boat was double decked so there was always shade for them. We also liked that the excursion has a ton of great photo opportunities of the ocean and mainland, so we got some awesome family photos. The best part of the trip though was the fact that parts of the revenue goes towards funding researchers who are working on studying the whale populations, which makes you feel good at the end of the day about the purchase, even if you don't get to see the whales up close.
I went on this trip with my family (6 adults, 2 of whom are a bit older). It was something we could all enjoy. The best part of the trip was seeing a close up whale breach, but it does come down to luck... I imagine some people might only end up seeing fins during their excursion, but even though we got to see an up close breach on our trip, the captain invited us to stay on for their second outing that day in case we missed it so we were guaranteed to be happy (super nice of him).
Recommend you to definitely bring sunglasses and a cap as its really bright out and fatigues the eyes.
Overall, I thought it was very good. Crew was nice and professional. They served lunches and accommodated *most* dietary restrictions. Seeing turtles was really cool. Unfortunately I picked this tour for where it said we were snorkeling. The crew made a last minute decision to change our snorkel spot due to winds.
Aloha and thank you for joining us on the Four Winds!
We had a great tour of the pineapple plantation on our last day in Maui. Our guide was Ken and he was fantastic. He provided so much information and history that it really made the tour worth it. The tour is only 1:30 hours which makes it quick and easy in case you have other activities planned that day.
We enjoyed the fresh cut pineapple samples from the field and seeing the different stages of pineapples throughout the fields.
Well worth it. We had a great experience
Me and my daughter both enjoyed our evening. We learned a bunch of thing about Hawaii and food was yummy too.
We did the full day tour with Isaac, a semi-retired local who knows the ins and outs of the island of Lanai. We're glad we took the full day tour otherwise you only get to see a glimpse of the island. Don't expect a beach day here, you'll rather get a ride all aroud the island with the history (old and recent) of the place on top of the usual sites: garden of the gods, shipwreck beach...
Years ago, we were looking for a simple sunset cruise with some drinks and apps. We did not want a big boat. We did not want a big dinner because there are so many special local restaurants to try on Maui. Then we stumbled upon Sea Maui. It is perfect. A relaxing ride on a catamaran. Taking in the sunset. The staff is always friendly and accommodating. The apps are still filled with local foods. Every time we go to Maui, we try to book with Sea Maui. it was just what we were looking for and more.
How could we vacation in Hawaii without going to a luau? We were in Maui during winter break, so things were very busy. This luau was the only one I could find with openings. The show itself was very fun and interesting. It gave us some background about Hawaiian culture and history. The food was just ok. All drinks are included (even alcoholic ones). It’s definitely pricey, but overall it’s a fun Hawaii-specific experience.
The boat ride went off without a hitch. Seating was comfortable. Crew was polite and respectful while reminding everyone there is a face mask mandate.
I so wanna do it again!. You will definitely like this experience! There are also free soda drinks. Guys, enjoy!
Despite the horrendous weather forecast; we had an amazing experience with Air Maui. Out pilot transported us to a different world, seemingly untouched by human hands. With a calm and knowledgeable voice, we were given an incredible tour of Molokai and the dormant volcano in West Maui.
Incredible. Would highly recommend to anyone visiting Maui.
It couldn't have been any better. The crew was fantastic. We visited two sites to snorkel and snuba. The extra cost to snuba is worth every penny. They accommodated my son's disability and made his trip fantastic. The captain's sense of humor kept you smiling. Everything we did felt safe so it was easy to just relax and enjoy the experience. The Aqua Adventure is the crew to go with.
Excelent tour, the guide (Gustavo) was very nice, really complete tour, I really recommend it.
I was disappointed with our overall experience at the luau. The food was mediocre and the show seemed “cheesy” although we did have great table side service. I would say save your money. The most exciting part of the show were the fire dancers, but they performed at the end of the show and only for a few minutes.
This was one of the highlights of our trip to Maui. The adventure began about 7 AM, on time, and we were shuttled to the boat in a small dinghy with the boarding of the small shuttle being an interesting and fun experience. The captain and crew provide everything that is needed to have a great time including snorkel and mask and fins. Wetsuit tops are available. Flotation devices were available if needed. In fact it is best not to bring too much equipment since boarding the dinghy may cause some of your belongings to get a bit wet. Willow, the captains mate, gave us a safety talk and off we went on our adventure to Lanai. The two dive spots were wonderful. We were able to do some spectacular whale watching on our way to the dive spots and on our return trip. Snacks and drinks were perfect. All in all this was a well run adventure and one of the high points of the trip was Willow with her bubbly personality and friendly demeanor. My spouse and I recommend this trip highly for both experienced snorkelers and beginners. At the end of the journey we left a well-deserved gratuity since we were so impressed with the entire operation. We are sure that, if you take this trip with Kaanapali ocean adventures, you will be thrilled with the entire experience just as we were. As a final note, the adventure begins early in the morning. There is parking available at every hotel that is free and is identified as “beach access parking“. There are only about 20 spots available at each hotel but, since the adventure begins so early in the morning, we had no trouble finding these free parking spots. If you park in the parking structure the cost of a days worth of parking is around $40. In addition, the organization will send a text the day before the trip to inform you of items you need to bring and specific instructions on where to meet.
The crew for Aqua Adventures was spectacular. I'm disabled, I can walk with a brace but mainly use a wheelchair. They helped me on to the boat and carried my chair on to the boat. They made sure I was included in every activity, including the bonus whale sightings we have seen. One crew member helped me get fin on and off each time and made sure that I was able to find the turtles during the coral city visit. The captain was upbeat and had wonderfully bad jokes but made sure everyone knew exactly was going on and safe in their Adventures. The food was great too!
Fairly new boat. Open bar with beer and cocktails. The crew served you as much as you want. The sail was 2hrs. It was mostly powered. They did open up a small sail in the front which was cool. They served a Kalua pork sandwich. The sandwich could have been warmer. The sunset was beautiful and it was worth the money to see that from on the ocean.
We had so much fun at the luau everyone was so friendly and food was really good the drinks were also our waitress and the the staff were terrific will definitely come back again I really liked that our food was served to us and not buffet style kudos to the performer they all did an excellent job
Our tour got cancelled the day of so we only took the ferry over then hung out at the beach We really wanted to see the shipwreck beach, cat sanctuary and Lanai City, it would have been nice to have seen more of the island .
I had my whole family out, and it was great for everyone. We have been on a few sunset cruises. This one takes the Cake. Was great for my whole family, including my 18 month old daughter. We saw plenty of whales, the service on the boat was on par with a private charter. I would highly recommend this one.. Aloha!
The crew were all very nice and knowledgeable but there wasn’t much wildlife to see. Mostly just coral. Wish I could’ve seen some turtles.
I was pleasantly surprised with the temptation tours luxury road to Hana experience. Although it was a bit pricey, I felt the entirety of the tour was well worth the amount. I saw everything on east maui that I wanted to see and some more. The tour guides were personal and informative. I was very happy I booked a full guided tour instead of doing a self drive. My partner and I got the full day we dreamt of when visiting the island of Maui!
My partner and I had a wonderful time visiting Haleakala national park! The breakfast was okay, continental option. It was surprisingly cold so pack an extra jacket for your stay. But it truly was an unforgettable experience, I know I will have to return and share this with my children as well one day.
Mahalo Catherine, Thank you for joining us on the Sunrise tour. We look forward to seeing you in the future with your family. We hope you enjoyed your stay in the Islands.
A Hui Hou!
We got to the terry just in time (arrive early even at 6:30 you’ll be searching for parking). We rode it to Lanai stayed in lanai 30 minutes then got back on ferry and returned to Maui. So for cost of ferry we got to go to more than one island on our trip to Hawai’i.
Boat was clean and comfortable everyone who worked for ferry was courteous and nice. Great trip. We saw a couple of whales and a pod of dolphins.
You should try it.
They are still telling you to west a mask outdoors. The girl taking tickets was very aggressive about putting your mask on. I was on the dock in the open air without my mask, which is totally legal and I stated to her, that when I go to get on the ferry I would be happy to put my mask on.
Really? Enough with the bullying.
She could have been so much more pleasant to everyone.
Our family thoroughly enjoyed the whale watching adventure with Captain Heather! We were able to spot whales within the first 5 minutes and actually saw multiple humpbacks and dolphins! The crew was so wonderful and knowledgeable!! I would definitely recommend 1000 times!!!!
I'd suggest to arrive early to get free parking on site. They have a wheelchair accessible facility so easy to maneuver to your table and seating. Staff was very friendly and informative on explaining the meal and the different ingredients used. It was a nice warm evening in early December when we attended. Loved the entertainment. They do a few dance numbers during the early courses of your meal. Once dinner is served and cleared, the final floor show begins about an hour before closing.
