Shopping in Waikiki isn't bad at all, but the depth of such a wonderful experience is incredible!! I'm becoming more and more captivated by Hawaii. I previously participated in the Haleakalā volcano sunrise and downhill tour twice, but this time I joined the sunset and stargazing tour with my family, as my younger child is still small. To be honest, I didn't have high expectations. (I'm sorry!) I never imagined it would become one of the top three memories of my life.

First of all, it was my first time on a tour with a Japanese guide, and Mr. Yamauchi's explanations were very easy to understand. I learned so much more and grew to love Maui even more, realizing how deep it is. The bento box was warm and truly delicious.

The sunset was, of course, moving, but the emotion I felt when I looked up at the starry sky... I was reminded that the Earth is surrounded by so many stars, and I realized for the first time how beautiful the universe is. It was a feeling that could only be experienced by seeing it with my own eyes, not through a planetarium or an encyclopedia. Tears just flowed without reason, and I couldn't stop crying even in the car on the way back.

This is a feeling that you can only experience by seeing it with your own eyes!!

私は以前２度ハレアカラ火山のサンライズ＆ダウンヒルのツアーに参加したことがあるのですが、今回は家族連れで、下の子がまだ小さかったため、このサンセット＆星空観測ツアーに参加しました。正直期待はしてませんでした。（スミマセン！）それがこんな人生で３本の指に入るような思い出になるとは思いもしませんでした。

まず、日本人の添乗員が付いたツアーも初めてだったのですが、山内さんの説明はとてもわかりやすく、より多くのことがわかり、マウイって奥が深いなぁ~とますます好きになりました。幕の内弁当もあったかくてほんとに美味しかったです。

サンセットももちろん感動でしたが、星空を見上げたときのあの感動・・・。地球はこんなにも多くの星に囲まれていることを思い知らされ、宇宙とはこんなにも美しいものだと初めて知りました。それはプラネタリウムでも、事典でもない肉眼で見ているからこその感動でした。訳もなくただただ涙が溢れてきて、帰りの車の中でも涙が止まりませんでした。

これは実際に自分の目で見なければ味わうことの出来ない感動です！！

Despite being over 3000 meters high, Yamauchi-san drives smoothly along a road without guardrails or streetlights. Since it's a national park, the focus is on the scenery. As expected of America. Apparently, if someone falls, it's the driver's fault.

From below, it looked cloudy, so I was worried, but once we broke through the rain clouds and emerged above the sea of clouds, it was like a different world. The sunset was beautiful too.

Although there were a few clouds, it wasn't a starry sky, but I was able to see the Milky Way for the first time in a while. I also saw the Southern Cross for the first time. A satellite even crossed our path.

It's a shame I didn't know about such a wonderful tour earlier; I would have loved to participate with my wife, who passed away two years ago. However, my sister, who joined this time, was very happy.

On the way back, we talked about ghost stories and listened to nostalgic songs by Takuro Yoshida and Yumi Matsutoya, and the time flew by. Thank you very much.

３０００ｍを超えているのに、ガードレールも街灯もない道を山内さんは、すいすいと運転していきます。国立公園なので、景観重視との事。さすがアメリカ。転落するのは、運転手が悪いそうです。
下界から見ると雲がかかっているので、心配していましたが、雨雲を抜け雲海の上に出ると、そこは別世界。
夕日も綺麗でした。
少々雲があったので、満天の星空とはなりませんでしたが、久しぶりに天の川を見ることが出来ました。また、初めて南十字星も見ることが出来ました。人工衛星も横切りました。
こんなすばらしいツアーをもっと前に知っていたら、一昨年亡くなった妻と一緒に参加したのに残念です。でも、今回参加した姉はとても喜んでくれました。
帰りは、肝試しの話や、吉田卓郎やユーミンなどの懐メロなども聞け、あっという間に時間が過ぎました。有難うございました。

We are in our golden years, but we went to Maui for our honeymoon. It was my first time in 13 years, and for my husband, it was his first visit to Maui.

We debated whether to go for sunrise or sunset, but since we wanted to see the starry sky slowly from a mountain over 3,000 meters high, we chose sunset.

At 2:30 PM, we were picked up in front of our hotel (Ka'anapali). As we passed through the town of Lahaina, we were given recommendations for restaurants and galleries. After a tea time at Krispy Kreme, we headed to the town of Makawao. We strolled through unique galleries featuring paintings and glass creations, as well as shops selling cowboy products. We stopped by Kula Lodge and bought a lot of souvenirs like jam and coconut candy. There was a wide variety of jams, and we got to taste several of them. They also had tea and herbal products, creating a lovely, soothing atmosphere.

As we passed through a eucalyptus-scented forest, the scenery changed with the increasing altitude. While listening to stories about the flora and fauna of Haleakalā and the spirits, we arrived near the summit just before evening. We enjoyed a 360-degree view from the height of 3,055 meters until sunset. Through the telescope, we could see the Subaru Telescope on the Big Island's Kīlauea. The sunset sinking into the sea of clouds was majestic, and the changes in the sky after sunset were beautiful as well. We were even able to see the Earth's shadow reflected in the sky.

After a restroom break and enjoying a warm Japanese bento, the stargazing began. Looking up at the night sky, it was filled with stars that twinkled quietly rather than sparkling. It made me realize just how many stars surround the Earth. I felt that this night sky was a special encounter made possible by being at such a high altitude. While watching the celestial planetarium, Yamauchi-san's explanations about stars and constellations were easy to understand, and I felt the mysteries of the universe.

It was probably lucky that it was just the two of us participating before Golden Week, but there were additional joys beyond Haleakalā, and Yamauchi-san's stories touched my heart. I didn't feel much cold thanks to my outfit of tights under my jeans and a hot pack around my waist.

サンライズか、サンセットかで迷いましたが、三千メートル級の山で、星空もゆっくりと観たかったので、サンセットにしました。

14時半に、ホテル前（カアナパリ）にお迎え。
ラハイナの街を通りながら、お勧めのレストランやギャラリーを教えていただきました。
クリスピードーナツのお店でティータイム後、マカワオの街へ。絵画やガラス創作の個性的ギャラリー、カウボーイ製品の店など散策しました。
クラロッジに立ち寄り、お土産のジャムやココナッツキャンディーをたくさん買いました。ジャムの種類は豊富で、いろいろ味見させていただき、紅茶やハーブ製品もあり・・癒される雰囲気が素敵でした。
ユーカリの爽やかな香りがする林を通り抜けて、高度が増すごとに、周囲の風景も変わってきます。ハレアカラの動植物や聖霊の話を聞きながら、夕刻前には頂上付近に到着しました。
サンセットまで、ハレアカラ高度３０５５ｍからの風景を３６０度眺めました。
望遠鏡からは、ハワイ島キラウエアのスバル展望台も。雲海に沈む夕陽は荘厳で、サンセット後の空雲の変化も美しいものでした。空に映る地球の影（アースシャドウ）も見ることができました。
トイレ休憩、温かい日本食弁当を食べた後、スターゲイジングの始まりです。
見上げた夜空は、キラキラ星というよりも、静かに瞬いている夜空いっぱいの星々でした。
地球の周りには、こんなにもいっぱいの星があるのですね。３千メートル級の高度だかこそ出遭えた夜空だと感じました。天体プラネタリウムを観ながらの、山内さんの星や星座のお話はわかりやすく、宇宙の神秘を感じました。

ゴールデンウィーク前で、夫婦二人の参加というのもラッキーだったのでしょうが・・ハレアカラ＋αの楽しみがあり、山内さんのお話も心に染みました。
ジーンズ下にタイツ・腰にホッカイロの装備で、寒さはあまり感じませんでした。

This was my first visit to Hana on my seventh trip to Maui. I had heard about it, but it truly is a wonderful place. The road to get there is quite challenging if you're driving a rental car, so I recommend joining a tour. Although there was no Japanese-speaking guide on the tour, I realized that some experiences are beyond words. My husband and I participated, along with a newlywed American couple, making four participants in total. I was worried about the narrow and steep road with many hairpin turns, especially since my husband is sensitive to car rides, but we enjoyed a comfortable drive in a limousine. We were told in advance to wear swimsuits, but there was no swimming. I wondered why, but later learned the reason. I won't write it here as I want it to be a surprise for those who participate. We had a delicious lunch, homemade cookies, a beautiful driver and guide, and enjoyed not only the stunning scenery but also a wonderful day.

After this, something strange happened. When I returned to Japan, I noticed something unusual in the photos I took with my digital camera. If anyone who participated in this tour has had the same experience (regarding the photos), please share your story. It might just be my imagination, so I’ll hold off on writing about it for now. Next time I go to Maui, I want to join this tour again to confirm it.

Maui is a fantastic place with many sights to see. If you have the time, I highly recommend visiting Hana. You will understand why it is said to be "the closest place to heaven." There is untouched, beautiful nature here.

話には聞いていたけど、本当に素晴らしい所です。レンタカーで行くには、大変な道なので、ツアーの参加をお薦めします。日本語ガイドのいないツアーなので、内心、不安もあったのですが、素晴らしいものに言葉はいらないと実感しました。私は夫と二人で参加、一組のアメリカ人の新婚カップルとで4人の参加者でした。片道3時間位の細く険しい道でヘアピンカーブも多く車に弱い夫と一緒だったので心配していたのですが、乗り心地のよいリムジンで、道中心地良いドライブを満喫させていただきました。事前に水着着用と言われていたのに、海水浴はありません。ど~して？と思っていたのですが、後で、そのわけを知りました。あえて、ここに書きません。参加するときのお楽しみとしたいと思います。美味しいランチ、ホームメイドのクッキー、美人のドライバー兼ガイドさん、美しい風景だけでなく、素敵な一日を過ごさせていただきました。
このあと、不思議なことがありました。
　日本に戻ってデジカメで撮った写真に不思議なものが写っているのがわかったのです。もし、このツアーに参加されたかたで、私と同じ体験（写真のことです）をされたかたがみえたら、体験談で紹介してください。私の思い過ごしなのかもしれないので、今書くのはやめておきます。今度マウイへ行ったら、もう一度、このツアーに参加し、確認したいと思っています。
　マウイは素晴らしいところで、観光するところが沢山あります。もし、時間がゆるされるのであれば、一度ハナを訪れてください。「いちばん天国に近い地」と言われる所以がよくわかると思います。手付かずの美しい自然がここにあります。

This was our first time in Maui. It was a bit nerve-wracking since it was our first overseas trip with our 3-year-old child! I was wondering if the "Haleakalā Star Tour" would be suitable for kids, but since it was our special trip to Maui, we really wanted to see the beautiful sunset and starry sky, so we decided to participate!

On the day of the tour, my daughter was so happy with the very kind Mr. Yamauchi! During the drive, when Mr. Yamauchi mentioned, "Sometimes you can see whales around here," my daughter kept asking, "Whales? Whales?" Then Mr. Yamauchi stopped at a spot where we might see whales and helped us look through the binoculars! I was truly moved by Mr. Yamauchi's thoughtfulness!!!

With that kind of experience, we were able to enjoy the wonderful sunset and starry sky at Haleakalā while feeling Mr. Yamauchi's interesting talk and kindness from start to finish. Our first trip to Maui became a very special memory! Thank you so much!

Thank you, Mr. Yamauchi, for your very kind coordination.

Although we couldn't see the sunset and starry sky at the summit due to the rain, the commemorative photo at the 3,000-meter peak will remain a cherished memory. My 85-year-old father and 79-year-old mother were also very impressed.

It was disappointing not to see the starry sky, but more than that, I was completely satisfied with Mr. Yamauchi's warm and thoughtful service throughout the day in Maui.

Just being able to see the countless stars scattered in the mid-mountain was amazing, so I can only imagine how wonderful the starry sky at the summit must be. I definitely want to try again to see the twilight sunset and the starry sky. Next time, I will aim for Haleakalā. I look forward to your assistance again then!

We had a good time at the crater. We were a little bummed because we didn't get to see the sunrise but it is unpredictable and we understand that. It was still a great experience and we did get to see some sun rising behind the clouds.

If we make it back to Maui we would definitely try it again in hopes to see the sunrise the second time!

Thanks so much for showing us so many of the nicest parts of Maui. Charles, our tour guide, showed us around the island, while filling us in on the political and natural history of the area. It seemed to us that this was a wonderful way for first time visitors like us to get an overview of Maui.

Things we especially liked about this tour: being picked up at our hotel promptly at 7am, as advertised; the view from the top of Haleakala; the opportunity to see rare plants and birds on the mountain, such as silversword plants in bloom, and the unique Hawaiian Geese (Nene); our guide's amazing knowledge of the places we saw and their history; the wonderful lunch at Casanova's in Makawao; the beautiful scenery around the park at the Io Needle.

The opportunity to take this tour with a knowledgable guide and driver was wonderful. It permitted us to concentrate on the scenery, rather than worrying about driving on unfamiliar roads and trying to read a map and sightsee at the same t

Initially, I signed up because I wanted to watch the sunset from the mountain with my family, but I was surprised by the experience! I got to see the rare silver sword plant that only blooms once every few decades, and we had the chance to do serious stargazing with a telescope (we even saw shooting stars!). Above all, the explanations provided by Mr. Yamauchi, with his extensive knowledge of astronomy, were truly moving.

The only regret was that the sunset was hidden by clouds, but I had a wonderfully fulfilling time. I've heard that Hawaii is known as a mecca for stars, and it seems like many stars can be observed here. Until now, I only had the image of Hawaii as a place for marine sports, so this was a new discovery for me. Later, when I asked a few Japanese residents living in Maui, it seems that Mr. Yamauchi's stargazing sessions are quite famous.

最初は家族で山からサンセットを見られるということで申込みましたが、参加してみてびっくり！
数十年に一度しか開花しない銀剣草の花を見られたり、本格的な望遠鏡での天体観測ができたり（流れ星も見えました！）、そしてなにより山内さんの豊富な天文知識による解説が感動的でした。
唯一、サンセットが雲に隠れて見えなかったのが心残りですが、すごく充実した時間を過ごせました。
ハワイは星のメッカと言われているらしく、たくさんの星が観測できるようです。これまで、ハワイにはマリンスポーツのイメージしかなかった私には、新たな発見でした。
後でマウイ在住の日本人数人に聞いたところ、山内さんの天体観測は結構有名みたいです。

I participated in this tour through a friend's introduction. It was our first trip to Hawaii as a couple! Since I had made the reservation online in advance, it was easy to confirm everything by phone once we arrived in Maui. On the day of the tour, I went with my family. At Krispy Kreme, I was amazed that I could eat donuts right away, as in Tokyo you usually have to wait in line! After that, we enjoyed ice cream that can only be found in Hawaii, which was delicious!

After filling our stomachs, it was finally time to start our hike (by car). As we gained altitude, the scenery became incredibly beautiful, but the air got thinner and it started to get cold. Thankfully, I was lent a down jacket, so it wasn't a problem. However, being sensitive to the cold, bringing a heat pack was definitely the right choice! It seemed that Takarin didn't need one, though. Along the way, we saw a flower that only blooms once every twenty years! It was amazing!

Finally, it was time for the sunset! It was a wonderful and emotional moment. It was truly beautiful and an incredible experience that you can't see in Japan! I definitely want to go back and see it again! I hope everyone gets to experience this too. I took a lot of photos. The experience was so amazing that I forgot all about the cold!

Satisfied, we were then treated to Chef Yamauchi's special bento! It was incredibly delicious!

Lastly, we had stargazing. We all exclaimed "Wow!" at the starry sky we had never seen before. The Milky Way, constellations, and the Big Dipper... we were overwhelmed by the stunning starry sky! The crescent moon we saw through the telescope was full of craters. I was also moved by Yamauchi's stories! I feel like my emotions have grown (in a good way). I'm really glad I participated in this tour. It was a great happiness to share so many encounters and emotions with everyone and my loved ones. When I go back to Maui, I will definitely join this tour again to see Yamauchi!

今回お友達の紹介でこのツアーに参加しました。
２人での初めてのハワイ旅行！
事前にネットで予約していたのでマウイ島に着いてからは電話での確認のみで簡単でした。
当日はFamilyと一緒に行きました。クリスピークリームドーナツは東京ではまだまだ並ばないと食べれないのに…なんとすぐに食べられました！

Haleakala Crater was just amazing! You don't feel like you are in a tropical paradise because it gets cold up there! It is very spiritual and peaceful there, and we can't believe ancient Hawaiians used to climb on foot. Next time, I'd love to hike the crater.

We were a couple who reserved for January 25th, and we appreciate your hospitality. Unfortunately, due to the rain clouds, our sunset was obstructed by clouds on the mountainside, but the sky turned a beautiful orange.

Finally, we were ready to enter the world of stars—dressed in the warm down jackets provided, we sat back comfortably in our chairs, and the sky above was filled with countless stars. Our thoughts about Yamapi's star were passionately expressed, but then the rain came again. However, with the amazing telescope that perfectly focused on any star, we were able to see Subaru and the admired Andromeda.

On our way down, we stopped the car and caught glimpses of stars during breaks in the rain. Then, we headed home while listening to pleasant background music.

The mountain weather is whimsical, and while the stars were a bit disappointing, there was so much more! The hot and fluffy crispy donuts and the nostalgic taste of the Grigri ice cream were incredibly delicious, bringing back memories of Maui! I wanted to get out of the car and see the relaxed ranch.

At the shop, I sampled a lot and bought Maui-made jams and butter as souvenirs, and the recommended tea from Yamapi was also very tasty! (Next time I come, I’ll buy a lot!) The amazing bento we had in the car, with simmered dishes and tempura, was delicious too!

At the observation deck, thanks to the bad weather, we were able to see the Brocken, and the flowing clouds in the crater were like a mystical world of Dali; I could have watched it forever. Thank you for a wonderful time.

熱々フワフワのクリスピード―ナッツと懐かしい味のグリグリアイスはとっても美味しくって、
マウイ思い出の味に!!!
のんびりとした牧場は車から降りて見たかった。
クラのお店でいっぱい試食してお土産に買ったマウイ産のジャムやバター、
それとヤマピーお薦めの紅茶もとっても美味しかったです！（今度来たら、いっぱい買うぞ！）
車内で食べた、煮物も天ぷらも付いてるすっごいドカ弁も美味しかった！
展望台では悪天のおかげで？ブロッケンを見ることができたし、
雲の流れるクレーターは神秘的なダリの世界で、いつまでも見ていたかったです。

I participated in this activity during my honeymoon. When I thought of Hawaii, I only considered ocean activities, but my husband, who usually doesn't express a desire to go anywhere, said he wanted to join. As a result, we decided to participate, and it turned out to be the most memorable tour among all the activities we did in Hawaii!

The emotion I felt while gazing up at countless stars, to the point where I forgot to breathe, is something I will never forget. (It was worth waiting without rushing!)

During our stay, the weather was not great with many clouds, and I almost gave up at one point, but thanks to Mr. Yamauchi, we were able to see a sky full of stars. The feeling of not giving up is truly important.

I would not recommend driving it yourself, too much to see and the road is unbeliveable - one lane, hairpin corners, all usually on the side of a cliff!
Our driver was fairly new and forgot or didn't know alot of things we saw along the way.

This is my second time participating in the Star Tour, and it was incredibly fun again.

The coconut candy I bought at the shop we stopped at was delicious and received great reviews as a souvenir. Of course, the Krispy Kreme donuts and GURIGURI ice were also really tasty.

I participated on January 4th. This is my second time being taken care of by Mr. Yamauchi.

The sunset at the summit never gets old, and this time it became another amazing memory. Just as Mr. Yamauchi said, "When you talk about shooting stars, they appear," we were able to see beautiful shooting stars, making it a very satisfying tour.

I have participated in various tours in Hawaii, but I believe Mr. Yamauchi's tour is so thoughtfully organized that anyone can enjoy it. I highly recommend it. I definitely want to be taken care of by him again next time.

On November 5th, we participated as a newlywed couple. Originally, we were scheduled to join on the 4th, but there was unusually heavy rain. However, the person in charge contacted us in the morning and said it would depend on the weather the next day. We were anxious about the possibility of cancellation, but despite the heavy rain in Oahu, miraculously, Maui had clear skies, and we were able to participate on the 5th.

The tour had a total of three participants, including one other participant. On the way to Haleakalā, we were taken to have a snack and made some stops along the way, which eased our nerves as we headed up the mountain. The weather that day wasn't great, and we couldn't see the sunset.

As for the starry sky, we patiently waited while enjoying our meal for the clouds to clear, and finally, we were able to see a 360-degree view of a starry sky like we had never seen before! The stories shared were fascinating, and it was truly a heart-clearing experience. I felt it would be great for students and newlyweds.

I want to see it again. If you go to Maui, you absolutely must see it!!! Even now that we are back in Japan, we are both raving about it.

本当は４日に参加の予定が、珍しくも大雨。でも担当の方から朝掛けに連絡があり、翌日の天気次第でという対応をいただきました。キャンセルになる不安もありましたが、天気予報も当日のオアフも大雨の中、奇跡的にマウイは快晴になり、５日に参加ができました。
ツアーは他の参加者さん１名との計３名での参加でした。
ハレアカラに上るまえに、道中、おやつを食べに連れて行ってくれたり、寄り道をしながら、緊張もほぐれて、山へ。
この日は雲行きがあまりよくなく、夕日は見れませんでした。
星空のほうはというと、雲が抜けてくれるのをじっくりとご飯を食べたりしてまっていて、遂に３６０度、見たことのない星空をみることができました！
お話も興味深いものがあり、本当に心が澄み渡るような体験でした。
学生の人や、新婚さんにおすすめだなぁと感じました。
また、見たいです。
マウイに行ったら、絶対に見たほうが良い！！！
と、日本に帰った今でも２人で絶賛しています。

My wife and I enjoyed the Hana picnic very much. Our tour guide's name was Buzz, and he had a wealth of knowledge about Maui and Hawaiian history. He also knew the curves in the road to Hana very well, seemingly by heart, which enabled my wife and I to enjoy the scenery without having to deal with the stress of driving. He also stopped at several points of interest, including waterfalls, a flower garden in the rain forest, and two black sand beaches. Again, for us, the day was excellent and we will probably go again with my wife's parents, who can also appreciate history and culture in addition to the sightseeing.

For the purposes of this review, I will say that we spent a great deal of time listening to Buzz talk about the islands because the weather prevented us from swimming at certain points. Again, my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed this part because we like to learn about knew things and places, but one of our fellow riders got bored at times, and she made sure everyone on

Loved it! Dan was very knowledgable, been on this road twice, driving and this tour. the limo van is the only way to go. Food, sights, and guide phenominal. A nightmare to drive yourself, and too long of a trip for kids or people with little patience. Can not miss road to hana if you go to Maui.

Our guide, Randy was fantastic. I was a little upset with your company that they did not portrait the excursion correctly. It was supposed to be an Eastern Maui excursion going 25 miles down the Road to Hana then to the Garden of Eden. This is not correct. That excursion had been replaced with a more difficult Western Maui location. We did not travel the Road to Hana, nor see the Garden of Eden. This was a more strenuous hike and climb. I have an injury to my shoulder and would have not chosen this adventure if it was represented correctly by your website and your staff that I spoke to. All in all, I would reccomend this escursion to others without existing injuries. Our guide did a great job and was very informative.

Our guide, Mike was wonderful - he was funny, knowledgable, and very helpful to everyone that needed it. We have 14 year old twins (boy and a girl) and I think they might have enjoyed the tour more than us, if that's possible. It was more than we expected and turned out to be the best tour we did in the 7 days on the islands. (we were on a cruise).
