The weather was somewhat cloudy, but the clouds were beautifully dyed by the sunset, creating a lovely gradient. The photo-taking and explanations were precise, allowing us to enjoy the experience efficiently in the cold at the summit in a short amount of time. The tour's included down jacket was very helpful. Unfortunately, stargazing was nearly impossible due to the heavy clouds.

After everyone gathered, during the first break, the guide asked everyone where they were from, which made it easy for guests to converse with each other afterward. The second break was at Foodland, where it was great to be able to choose our own dinner instead of having a standard bento. We also had a little shopping time, and I bought some recommended Kona coffee.

The third break for altitude acclimatization was taken at the Clara Lodge, where we had several restroom breaks. We also enjoyed the rest stops as we ascended to 3,000 meters.

曇り気味の天気でしたが、雲が夕陽に染まり綺麗なグラデーションを見れました。写真撮影・説明が的確で山頂の寒い中、短時間で効率よく満喫出来ます。ツアー付属の防寒ダウンがとても助かりした。残念ながら星の観測は雲が多くほぼ不能。
全員集合後、最初の休憩時に全員に声をかけて何処から来たか等の質問をしてくれるので、ゲスト同士のその後の会話が楽に出来ました。2回目の休息はフードランド、夕飯を自分で選べ一律のお弁当でないのはとても嬉しいです。少しの買い物時間も貰え、オススメのコナコーヒーを買いました。
高地順応の為の3回目の休息はクラロッジでとり、トイレ休憩が多く取られていました。3000メートルまで上がるための休憩も楽しめました。

I had been looking forward to the tour even before arriving in Maui! I was also very excited to meet our tour guide, Mr. Yamauchi. When I met him, he turned out to be a very warm-hearted person, and I was really happy with the subtle touches that matched the location. Unfortunately, due to the full moon, we couldn't see the starry sky, but listening to the stories while gazing at the stars felt like a cleansing experience, and I couldn't stop crying... it was quite a challenge. I hope to come back someday to see the star-filled sky again and have my revenge!!

I was really looking forward to the tour, but unfortunately, the weather was bad, and I couldn't see the sunset or the stars (tears). I had been optimistic because I read in various places that "even if the weather is bad at the base, it clears up at the summit, so the chances of clear skies are quite high," but I guess things like this can happen.

I heard that I could have a chance to do it again, but I didn't quite understand the system. Is it similar to the "if you can't see dolphins, it's free next time!" kind of deal that you often see with dolphin watching?

The guide, Yamapi, was just as great as the reviews said, and he told us about various recommended souvenirs. Among them, the organic honey was incredibly delicious and has received great reviews from my family.

The guide was good, and we had a nice view of the sea of clouds, plus there were plenty of restroom breaks, so there were many positives. However, since I didn't get to experience the main event at all, I feel like I don't have much to say about it.

We drove slowly up to the summit of Haleakalā (about 3,000 meters), and while I had some concerns about my physical condition, I reached the top in no time while listening to Mr. Yamauchi's guidance. Along the way, we had a lot of fun shopping for recommended coffee and Maui onion-flavored potato chips at the shopping center and Kula Lodge. Although we couldn't do stargazing at the summit, I would love to try again with YAMAPEE's guidance.

The Haleakalā volcano had great weather, and I was able to see breathtaking views of the sea of clouds, sunset, and starry sky. I could see many stars that I can't see in Japan, filling the sky. While listening to explanations about various stars, we observed them through a telescope. The elementary school children were also moved by the starry sky and seemed to enjoy stargazing while listening to our guide (Yama-chan).

Additionally, on the way to Haleakalā volcano, our guide provided us with information about Maui and recommendations for delicious restaurants, which were very helpful for our subsequent sightseeing. We also stopped at a donut shop, a local supermarket, and a souvenir shop at a farm, so we enjoyed shopping as well. There were restrooms available at each stop, and there are also restrooms at Haleakalā volcano, so I felt comfortable participating since I often need to use the restroom.

I was able to talk with the other participants at the first donut shop we visited, which made me feel a sense of closeness, and that was great. We climbed slowly to the summit while taking breaks, so we were able to reach the top without any issues. I enjoyed listening to the guide's fun stories and personal anecdotes, and I had a wonderful time. Unfortunately, the sunset turned out to be a sun hidden behind the clouds, but the change in the colors of the sky was moving. Thank you very much.

Unlike horseback riding experiences in Japan, after a brief explanation, we headed to the ride course. At first, going downhill was a bit scary. The horse often slipped its feet, but I didn't fall. Once I got used to it, I thought it was manageable.

The weather wasn't very good, but the location was fantastic. In the second half, we went uphill, and there was a part where we dashed, which was thrilling. I am satisfied.

At sea level (below 1 meter), the temperature is 28 degrees. The tour bus picked us up right in front of the hotel lobby. Mr. Yamap greeted us with a smile. From there, all participants gathered at the donut shop. We set off towards the summit of Haleakalā. We stopped at a market along the way to buy sushi and were given tips on Maui souvenirs, and then we headed to the summit! To reach a place over 3000 meters, we took our time ascending with breaks along the way (by car). To get above the clouds, we had to pass through them. In the thick clouds where we couldn't see ahead... I wondered if we would even be able to see anything at the summit. I was filled with anxiety as we climbed. However, Mr. Yamap played music and chatted, seemingly unconcerned about the weather at the summit. Perhaps to match the age of the participants? I’m not sure, but he played songs from the '80s... They were right in our strike zone, so we enjoyed the ride. And finally... the summit! There were no clouds, and nothing obstructed our view. As dusk fell, we could beautifully observe the rare shadow of the Earth, and since it was a new moon that day, while we ate our bento in the car, it seemed Mr. Yamap was preparing telescopes and other equipment. After dinner, when we got out of the car... we were instructed not to look up until we were outside. Since the car lights were on while we ate, it seemed that looking up immediately wouldn’t allow us to see the stars clearly. Once we adjusted our eyes, the starry sky was incredibly moving...! Seriously, it was amazing. Everyone should go. I don't want to promote it too much. It's a sight rarely seen. The number of stars you might only see once in a lifetime. It makes you feel how tiny Earth is... When I saw this starry sky, all my past failures and struggles seemed insignificant...

Lastly... it is really cold at the summit. They can lend you down jackets or blankets, but if you're sensitive to the cold, it's better to bring inner layers or disposable hand warmers even when going to Hawaii. They also serve warm tea.

下界（海抜１ｍ未満）では気温28度。ツアーバスがホテルロビー前までお迎え。山Pさんがニコニコお迎えに来てくれました。そこから、ドーナツ屋さん参加者全員集合。ハレアカラ山頂に向かって出発。途中のマーケットでお寿司などを買い込んで（マウイのお土産とかも教えてもらって）、いざ山頂へ！3000mを超える場所へ向かうには、途中の休憩を入れながらゆっくり上っていきます（車で・・）。雲の上に出るためには・・雲の中を通過しなければなりません。前方も見えないような雲の中で・・・もしかしたら山頂に行っても見えないんじゃないのかな？不安感満載で登っていくのです。しかし、山Pさんは音楽を流しながら、いろいろお話を入れて、山頂の天気のことは特に気にもせず、運転していました。参加者の年齢に合わせたのか？わかりませんが80年代の曲が・・・・。われわれのストライクゾーンの曲だったので楽しく向かいました。そしてついに・・・山頂！そこは雲もなく、目の前を遮るものはありません。夕暮れになり・・めったに見れない地球の影もきれいに観察できましたし、当日は新月で、お弁当を車内で食べている間に山Pさんは望遠鏡などの準備をしていたようです。夕食が終わって、車内から出るときに・・・下を向いて上を見ないようにとの指示。車内は車内灯をつけてお弁当を食べていたので、すぐ上を向いても星がきれいに見えないらしいです。あとは目を慣れさせて見るとすごく感動的な星空が・・・！まじ、やばいです。皆さん行ってください。あまり紹介したくないですね。めったに見れない。一生に見れるかどうかの星の数。地球なんてなんてちっぽけな・・・・・と感じます。
今までの失敗や苦労などはこの星空を見たら・・・。以上

最後に・・・山頂はマジで寒いです。ダウンとか毛布とか貸していただけますが、寒がりの人はハワイに行くのに、インナーとか使い捨てカイロとかあったほうがいいです。暖かいお茶も出してくれます。

As part of the tour plan, we enjoyed Krispy Kreme donuts and coffee, and we also stopped by a supermarket where I could choose my favorite sushi for dinner. The stargazing experience included a romantic touch, making it an unforgettable tour with high added value. I highly recommend this tour as the number one choice for anyone visiting Maui.

Fun time had by all

Everything was great. The instructors made it fun by their sense of humor, but you could tell that they also always had safety in mind. Felt safe at all times.

I was afraid that we would be hiking up a huge mountain or something because the description states you will do a lot of walking, however they take you up the mountain in a van. The only walking that you do is front platform to platform, which isn't much. So we were glad for that.

The views from the ziplines of the ocean were amazing. Would recommend for all.

As forecasted, it was cloudy and very windy. Since light rain was also expected, I requested a schedule change if possible, but I received no response as the tour was confirmed to proceed on the day.

We headed towards the mountain while gradually acclimatizing to the high altitude, and we received some great souvenir information along the way. However, when we reached the gate, it was past 5 PM, and since there were no staff present, each driver had to process the entrance fee (toll) with a credit card, which caused a traffic jam.

In the end, we couldn't see the sunset, and the viewpoint of the crater was dark, so we missed the scenery of Haleakalā, which was disappointing. If we had known about this traffic situation in advance, we might have planned to pass through the gate before 5 PM. Especially since it was clear even to amateurs that the starry sky wouldn't be visible that day, seeing the crater while it was still light would have provided a different kind of excitement.

The guide's personality was impeccable, and their stories were captivating. However, despite the implication that we would be able to see the sunset, there was no mention of it at all...??

当日は催行とのことでお返事はありませんでした。
　ゆっくり高地にならしながらいきますとのことで、お得なお土産情報もいただきながら、山に向かいました。
ゲートのところで、5時を過ぎていたので、係員不在の時は、各車のドライバーが、クレカで入山料（通行料）の手続きをしなければならず、渋滞となっていました。
結局、日没も見れず、火口の展望台も暗くなって見れず、でハレアカラの風景は見れずじまいだったのが残念でした。
もしこの渋滞事情が事前にわかっているのなら、五時までにゲートを通過する計画もあったのでは、と思います。
特に、その日は星空も期待できないのは素人でもわかっておりましたので、明るいうちに火口でも見れたら、また違った感動があったと思います。
　ガイドさんのお人柄は申し分ありませんし、お話も魅力的でした。
ただ、日没は見れるような口ぶりだったのに、そのことについては何も触れられず・・？？でした。

There aren't many places to walk, so you can bring elderly people along. On the way up the mountain, we enjoyed a fun car ride where we were introduced to inexpensive souvenirs at a local supermarket and heard local stories about Maui. The sunset from the summit was a breathtaking view from another world. It was wonderful. The stargazing included easy-to-understand explanations using a telescope and a laser pointer. Unfortunately, we were affected by the moonlight, but it seems that if it were a new moon, the starry sky would be amazing. I'm really glad I brought my mother and children along.

I participated during the waxing crescent moon in December. The starry sky was beautiful, and the explanations were interesting. There were high-performance telescopes that allowed us to see things that are hard to see with the naked eye, making it a great experience. I wish I could have seen the starry sky during the new moon. The sunset was viewed from halfway up the summit of Haleakalā. The scenery was breathtaking. During my visit, there was no option for Grigori Ice, only Krispy Kreme donuts.

I participated on November 19, 2017. Fortunately, there were only four of us: my husband and I, plus an older couple, along with our guide Yamapi's wife as an assistant, allowing for a more intimate experience. After being picked up at the hotel, we drove through the town of Lahaina, hearing about the delicious and not-so-good restaurants there. We made a stop at Krispy Kreme for a break and enjoyed some freshly made donuts.

After that, we bought sushi bento at a supermarket (both the donuts and the bento were included in the tour price), and we headed to our destination. At the Kula Lodge, we purchased souvenirs that can only be found there (though I wondered if they might also be sold at the airport or in Waikiki, the items we bought seemed truly unique). Along the way, we saw a volcanic crater and gradually acclimated to the altitude before reaching the summit.

The initial location we aimed for was very crowded, so we parked in a less populated area, watched the sunset, and after eating the bento we purchased in the car, we enjoyed stargazing. That night, there was almost no moonlight, resulting in a perfect starry sky! Even I, who usually have no interest in stars, was moved. Under the starry sky, I also heard about Yamapi's background. He has faced many struggles to get to where he is now, and since I came on this trip while dealing with significant stress at work, I secretly cried while listening to his story in the dark.

Five years ago, when I went to Mauna Kea on the Big Island, I struggled with the thin air, but this time, I had no issues at all. My first visit to Maui was amazing!!! It might be difficult to return, but I would love to participate again somehow. For those considering this tour, please prepare for the cold!

*By the way, although this tour does not stop there, I highly recommend Ruth's Chris Steak House in Lahaina! Our guide Yamapi also recommended it (there are several locations in Waikiki). Personally, I think it's better than Wolfgang Puck's.

ラッキーなことに客は私達夫婦＋年配のご夫婦の計4人、それにガイドのヤマピーさんの奥様がアシスタントで参加されて少人数で回ることができました。
ホテルでピックアップ後、ラハイナの街を車で通り、ラハイナのおいしいお店・まずいお店をお聞きしながら、休憩兼ねてクリスピークリームドーナツに立ち寄り、出来立てのおいしいドーナツをいただきました。
その後スーパーでお寿司のお弁当を購入し（ドーナツもお弁当もツアー代に含みます）、いよいよ目的地へ向かいます。
クラロッジでは、そこでしか買えないお土産を購入（実は空港やワイキキでも売ってたりして？と思ったけど私たちが買った物は本当にどこにもなさそうでした）、途中火口を見たり少しずつ高所に体を慣らしながら山頂に到着です。
当初向かった場所は大混雑だったため、人の少ない場所に車を止めて、サンセットを見て、車内で購入したお弁当を食べた後、星空観賞です。
その日は月明かりがほとんど無い日だったので、まさに満点の星空！
普段星になんか興味が無い私でも感動しました。
星空の下、ヤマピーさんの今までの経歴なんかもお聞かせいただきました。
とても苦労されて今がある方で、私も仕事で大きなストレスを抱えつつ今回の旅行に来たこともあり、真っ暗闇なのを良いことにこっそり泣きながら話に聞き入っていました。
5年前、ハワイ島のマウナケアに行った時は空気の薄さにヘロヘロでしたが、そんな私でも今回のツアーは全然平気でした。
初のマウイ島、最高でした！！！再訪するのは難しいですが、何とかもう一度参加したいです。
このツアーを検討中の方、防寒準備して行ってください！

※ちなみにこのツアーで立ち寄ることはありませんが、ラハイナのルースズクリスステーキは超オススメです！ガイドのヤマピーさんもオススメしてました（ワイキキにも何店舗かあります）。
個人的にはウルフギャングよりもおいしいと思います。

I was really glad to meet our guide, Yama P. We had a wonderful time discussing not only Maui and Haleakalā but also various memorable topics that touched the heart. I was drawn in by Yama P's background and the inner conflicts he shared, which made me feel a strong sense of connection. Of course, the beautiful sunset and the breathtaking starry sky were also amazing. Weather can be a matter of luck, but I was fortunate to have clear skies and stunning views during my visit.
