Enjoyed all the performances and the historical/cultural commentary as well. Also enjoyed how the fire dancer interacted with the audience. Beautiful setting surrounding the stage with the fire latterns and ponds. Staff was very friendly and helpful.
The large deck for viewing was definitely a plus from when I was there back in 2007. Just a little disappointing that the frems were so few. I guess that hurricane did more damage to the environment then I thought.
Music was wonderful as always.
Boat ride also pleasant. Guide giving information about the area along the river was very helpful.
As we cruised upstream on a boat along the gentle flow of the Waimea River, it was a delightful moment to wave at tourists kayaking downstream, all enjoying a fun holiday. After climbing the path surrounded by tropical plants and flowers from the dock, we reached a spot where water dripped down and long plant tendrils hung, revealing a dark opening. It is said to be a place that only the Hawaiian royal family could visit, but now it is a power spot where weddings can also be held. The tour lasted about two hours, and I felt a great sense of fulfillment.

On August 18th, I participated in the tour at 3:30 PM. There were only three of us Japanese, but about 70 people were on board, and the benches were about 80% full. After traveling upstream for nearly 30 minutes on a river where you hardly feel any current, we arrived at a small dock. From there, it was about a five-minute walk to the cave entrance. There was a collapse accident over a decade ago, and since then, entry to the interior has been prohibited. It felt like the remnants of a mining site, and the ferns were less lush than I expected. The staff performed songs and hula both in front of the cave and on the return boat. There was also a simple practical lecture, which was in English, and I enjoyed that.

It was a relaxing activity and great for littles, but I could sense the tiredness in the crew because we took the last tour of the day. Best to go earlier in the day. Also, be warned to bring bug spray with you on the jungle walk to the fern grotto! Fern grotto was beautiful, but hard to hear explanations over arguing children. Haha. Maybe it would be easier if thye had a loud speaker or megaphone at the fern grotto?
The staff was amazing and I feel so lucky they shared this magic of their island with us.

My 10 yo and I tend to get motion sickness so we followed their advice and took our meds (Bonnie/dramamine) the night before and the morning of. We had no issues! I think it helped that we were (randomly selected) for the largest of the 3 boats. It was a loooong boat ride. We went about 2.5 hours before we stopped to snorkel and have lunch. There isn't a lot of room but you can bring a beach bag with essentials (I wish I would've brought snacks). The ride was long but also GORGEOUS and fun for kids to look at. We saw a school (?) Of dolphins swimming along with us, monk seals on the beach, and of course the Na Pali coast. Snorkeling was fun and laid back. My 6 yo was able to just use her own goggles (regular pool goggle) and their floaty (similar to a pool noodle). She had a BLAST. My 12 yo and I even jumped off the front of the boat several times. We saw lots of fish and 2 sea turtles. I definitely recommend this tour! If you book - choose the morning ride!!
Captain Kam and Asia were wonderful to our small group. We loved being in the smaller 12 person boat. Kam is a very skilled captain and they both always kept our safety a priority. It was fun, incredibly gorgeous view of the Napali coast. We saw dolphins, turtles, went under a waterfall. The best part was we got lucky with the weather and got to experience a unique cave tour as well.
Food was great too, everything was perfect!

One of the best things to do here in Kauai. It was awesome. We would do it again. We saw turtles, dolphins, caves, waterfalls and lotsa fishes!!!

We had a great time on this tour. Going into the caves was an amazing experience! The snorkeling was great too! We saw dolphins (briefly), turtles, and tons of fish and coral.
While on this trip, we celebrated our 40th anniversary. We took the Wilua river cruise to the Fern Grotto 40 years ago on our honeymoon, and I'm happy to say that the best parts of this experience have not changed.
We were happy with the new decking in the Grotto, I only wish that they had wheel chairs available at the Grotto. My wife was unable to make it all the way to the main platform, so she missed out on the best part. Our main goal was four our three daughters and our grandson to see it, and they did!

Lovely cruise provided by great staff with hula, singing, music, story telling, walking tour, and an overall great time. Bring water, sunscreen and possibly bug repellent. Will do this again next time we are on the island.
This tour was amazing especially if you have young kids. The captain was amazing and we got to see a ton of amazing things. Dolphins, monk seals, sea caves, na Pali coast, mermaids...ok maybe not the last one. The crew was great and had a ton of great knowledge along with tips on great places to check out on island. Overall I would absolutely tour with them if we come back to the island.
We loved this trip. The crew was great, and the whole experience was incredible. We learned so much about Hawaii, and got to see a side of the island few get to experience. We will recommend it to anyone going to Kuai in the future!
The host was excellent!… the location pristine…. The dinner was also excellent…the show was very nice and sadly to say I would it like to see more “traditional show”… not so staged…
Great trip for any one that has problems walking or doing large hikes. Nice boat ride as you see nature along with kayakers . The more adventurous people would probably prefer that method of seeing the area. On the boat they taught a hula dance. Gave some interesting info on the walk. It is an easy trip.
My family went on this excursion to the Grotto because it looked so good in the brochures. The boat ride up and back was the best part in my opinion. The workers on the boat were very entertaining and told the history of the river and the Grotto.
On the way back they let us place our flowers in the river and tell a little about our mother who had passed away just a few days prior to this part of our trip.
My wife and I enjoyed this tour more than all of the others. It was a beautiful, leisurely trip down the river to Fern Grotto. The scenery, and entertainment was wonderful! $30 per person is the best deal on the entire island. Don’t forget to tip.
The sea caves are quite frightening but adrenaline rush!!
