Kauai
Vulker our guide was so nice. We were in a smaller group and were able to walk behind the waterfall for a truly unique experience. I highly recommend.
Great trip! Perfect conditions for this trip. Scenery was jaw dropping and guides were friendly, knowledgeable, competent and funny as heck! Highly recommend for enjoyable family excursion. Definitely bring your bug spray as the mosquitoes love tourists!
The whole experience was fantastic! Adam, our guide, was super friendly and great to talk to. He was very knowledgeable.
For those planning this, the kayak trip was a little work so be prepared for that. My husband and I thought we were in great shape but we struggled a bit. It’s 2.5 miles of fast, no break, paddling. The hike was super fun. Again, be prepared to work a little. You will hike in ankle deep mud in places. It’s slippery so the walking stick (supplied) was a big help. We saw a
lot of people struggle.
The waterfall was breathtaking. Eating lunch there was surreal. Definitely worth doing!
This was so much fun!! So glad we booked this experience.
This is one Adventure we do every time we come to Kauai we have the best time everybody should do it. One of the best parts is when you go into the tunnel and they turn off all the lights and it's so dark you can't even see your hand in front of your face
Beautiful all tge way to the waterfall. Tour Guide was very knowledgeable about the plant life.wear water shoes !! Or shoes ur willing to throw away. Worth every penny.
Aloha David,
Thanks for you 5 star review.
Glad you enjoyed the tour and thanks for making folks aware that some sort of shoes, like water/aqua shoes are a good idea.
Happy Holidays....and thanks for takin the time to share and letting our guides are doing a good job and keeping you informed.

This was a pleasant day with family. Guides were awesome and informative. Would do this again.
We have been to Hawaii 17 times and been on other ATV tours. This is our favorite tour. We live in Colorado, have our own ATVs and ride them in the Rocky Mountains. Kipu Ranch had new Kawasaki Teryx ATVs which were fun to drive with slippery (in spots) hilly terrain. Nice ride. Friendly capable guides.
It was a torrential rain storm when we arrived at their location to check in for our Mountain Tubing Adventure at Kauai Backcountry Adventures. All through getting outfitted and the bus ride to the put in spot, it poured. Once we arrived and stored our belonging, as we about to get into the tubes, the heavens parted, the rain stopped and the sun came out. Staff is friendly and helpful. They do a good job of going over everything you need to know to enjoy and be safe along with what to expect. Their website also did a good job of preparing us for what to expect. We were 2 among 20 in our group and we were all laughing and enjoying the water, the ditch and the company. They take pictures along the way that you can later purchase. Everything about this tour from start to finish was awesome. It was too wet to picnic at the spot so they took us back to their warehouse which worked out great for us. Our guides, Johnny and Ryan were knowledgeable, professional and fun.
If you are looking for a unique thing to do on Kauai, this is it!
I’m not the most in shape person so at first I was nervous about this adventure. I chose a ride with a guide with my husband and it was a great decision. Our guide was incredible and I felt totally comfortable and was able to enjoy everything. I’m so happy I did this adventure and it was a ton of fun, great scenery and a good pace. I highly recommend!
We had a great time! Location was beautiful and guides were very fun!! The guides were able to give information about the island and culture. So many photo opportunities. Highly recommend!!
My friend and I had a blast on this tour! It was so cool getting to tube through the different tunnels and getting to see some of them by only the flashlight that's on the helmet that they give you. Our guides even had us turn off our lights for one so we went through it in the complete dark which was really cool! The sandwiches they provided were really good and we had two amazing guides that made it so much fun for everyone!
We loved this tour! The guides were awesome and very helpful! I was really nervous, but they put me at ease and were very encouraging. The scenery was beautiful throughout the kayaking and the hiking. I would highly recommend this tour!! One of the favorite things we did in Kauai!
Dustin did a great job interacting with all of us and we were a very diverse group (age, gender and skill level)!
He was very knowledgeable of Hawaiian culture. We also learned a lot about the plants and animals of the area. Beware of the wild boar. ;-)
The hike was muddy but not too difficult. The waterfall was spectacular and much colder than expected.
Would definitely do this again! The morning is cooler and may be drier than the afternoon.
We completely enjoyed our water tubing experience! Beautiful location, awesome and informative guides (loved BooBoo and Brittany)!!! The water was warm and the tubing was so much fun.......We will book every time we go back to Kauai :)
This team was awesome! The best experience EVER! I would do it again!!!
Damien and Victor were the best guides !! So much fun. Worth it do not hesitate to book ! Part of the fee goes to the protection of these wonderfull lands which I am glad to be a part of.
This was a fun and interesting experience. Our guide Presley was knowledgeable and kept the adventure running smoothly. The kayak ride and hike takes you through beautiful Kauai country. The lunch was good too. Don’t forget the bug spray!!
Great tour, beautiful scenery. Our guide was amazing. Tree swing was a highlight with the group...a must do on the island
Easy kayaking. The hike is easy but take your time not to fall. Our guide was helpful at crossing all more challenging obatacles. Beautiful falls and swimming area. Nice lunch.
Aloha Amy,
Yes...wise council...go slow. Half the fun is getting there!
Thanks for sharing and glad we were able to share the day with you.
Keep chasing waterfalls.

Overall I had fun. The trip is basically kayak for 2 miles, hike for 1 mile, visit a 100' water fall, and then hike back for 1 mile and then kayak for 2 miles. Since I like physical activity, this trip worked well for me.
Kayaking requires some physical work, and since there are 2 people per kayak, at last one should be in good physical shape.
Hiking was through lots of mud. You will cross streams, ankle deep mud, and will get dirty. Best to wear sandals since sneakers will be ruined. My youngest son loved this part (getting dirty is always fun).
Aloha John,
Thanks for taking the time and for your nice and constructive review on what to expect and what to bring.
If you don't like to paddle and hike this could be wrong tour for some.
Keep active...and thanks again.

Our guide Troy was awesome! Very informative. We had a blast and can’t wait to do there other tours next time we are there
We had a great time on this tour! For our group of 18ish people we had three guides that were constantly working hard to make sure we were having a good time, and being safe. This is not white water rafting- this is a float tube trip. So if you are expecting rapids and fast action, this is not it. We read several negative reviews regarding cancellations due to rain. Yep. I get it. It sucks. But there are points where you are traveling in tunnels, and if it rained too much - you won’t fit in the tunnel. Rain = higher water. We read other reviews about being separated from your party- yep- it happens, but if you ask any of the guides, they will help you join your friends. Our family had a really nice time.
Very safe, fun day for the family. You will get dirty and muddy tho so wear dark clothes or ones that you don’t care about. Lunch was yummy and the guides were top notch. I would definitely do this again.
What a fun day. Everyone was so informative and made us feel welcome. Great for families. Great way to spend a day in Hawaii.
A beautiful, unique, and memorable experience. The guide was friendly and helpful, everyone was able to paddle up the river at their own pace, the river is lined with greenery, but the real treats were the hike along a gorgeous trail with amazing foliage and, of course, the waterfall. Swimming in the pool at the base of the waterfall and looking up at the water pouring over the cliff is an experience like no other. I went with my teenage daughter on a beautiful sunny day. There were no significant recent rains, so the trail was not muddy or slippery and the hike wasn't strenuous at all. I highly recommend this tour!
Aloha Renee,
Glad you enjoyed our Wailua River paddle and hike to the Sacred Falls with your daughter.
Yes it’s pretty classic and you gave a really nice review. Thanks for taking the time and until our trails cross.
Stay paddling and hiking.

Micco
My husband and I had an awesome time with our guides Joshua and Lumbo. They took us on a fun, wild-ride ATV adventure and told us some cool history about the Kipu Ranch, including details about Hollywood movies filmed there. One stop along the route included an opportunity to swing from a rope swing from the same tree (same tree, new rope) Harrison Ford used as Indiana Jones in the movie Raiders of the Lost Ark!
Another stop included a delicious lunch of sandwiches, fruit, chips, cookies, and water. I was impressed with the tablecloths and individually wrapped moist towels (actual towels) handed out to clean off all the dirt on our hands and face from our ride. It was also really interesting to chat with the guides about their lives on the island and pick their brains about Kipu Ranch trivia. Joshua just had his third child last week, and Lumbo has 6 kids!
Our final stop was at a picturesque waterfall where we were all able to swim to the waterfall!
Tips: Wear closed toed shoes you don’t mind swimming in because you must wear shoes in the water. Wear a swimsuit under your clothes if you want to swim at the waterfall or swing on the rope swing into the water. Bring a towel unless you don’t mind air drying. Also, your clothes will definitely get dirty! Keep a change of clothes in the car unless you don’t mind the dirt in your car. In case you’re wondering, the water is definitely cold.
A nice bonus is that the company gives you complementary bandannas to wear over your nose and mouth to keep the dirt out. The bandanna serves as a cool souvenir afterwards! Also, one of our guides, Joshua, was especially gifted at taking cell phone pictures. If you luck out with him as your guide, let him take your pictures!
It was a very relaxing time....the guides we had were very knowledgeable with the history of the water canel and fun to float with...the after float lunch with had hit the spot...
Our tour guides did an amazing job. Great sense of humor and made our adventure so much fun. Great with our youngest 2 and did a great job dealing with our 2 teen girls. Thank you
Loved this place! The sights were great, the guides were super fun. Would just have loved to really rip up the trails in those bad a$$ ATVs a bit more! They need a straight-away where you can really kick up some mud and it would be perfect! Highly recommend!
