My husband and I had an excellent time there.
We arrived and the staff was very friendly in directing us where to go. As we got into the tram, we were welcomed but a coupe peacocks flapping their feathers. The tour of the garden was very informative and fun. If you get there early you can walk around and take pictures. The food was delicious! There was a live band and taught us how to do the hula. And the show was very entertaining. We definitely recommend this luau. We love the fact that it is family owned.

Liked it so much we brought our kids to see it

We have gone to numerous luaus with mixed experiences. Sometimes great dancers but average food. Sometimes just a poor experience altogether. We went the the Smith family luau in 2011 when we took our parents for their 50th anniversary. We loved it. Great food with an outstanding setting.
This year we took our son, daughter in law and grandson to Kauai for a week. We decided to go to Smiths luau the night before leaving. If far exceeded expectations.
Come early to walk the garden grounds as they are spectacular. Our son has gone to luaus on Maui and Oahu as well as at Gaylords. He thought this one had it all. Great food a very well done show.
You too will come back.

I finally went to the Na Pali Coast! 念願のナ・パリ・コースト行ってきました！

The only non-white participants were us? We received a humorous explanation in English from the captain (we were given a written explanation in Japanese beforehand) and set sail! The waves were rough, and the boat was rocking quite a bit. Early on, we had a light snack service with drinks and canapés at the counter. I thought I might feel sick if I ate too much, so I only had a little, but the sparkling wine got me excited. (My husband was the designated driver, so he was just taking photos.) Gradually, the Na Pali Coast revealed itself. It was breathtaking! The waterfalls, the unique shadows of the landscape, and we even went through caves! We enjoyed it all the way to the end (is that Ke'e Beach ahead?). As the sunset began, we headed back. Then a rainbow appeared, and a whale slapped the surface with its tail, while a large pod of dolphins accompanied the boat, jumping occasionally! The sun set over Niihau Island. A nearby foreign gentleman proudly showed us the photos he took of the stunning sunset. We were really lucky! After that, we had some Mexican food before docking. The captain shook hands with each of us as we disembarked. I gave a tip as a thank you for the wonderful experience. Just as it was getting dark and we were about to head home, it started pouring rain! I didn’t know how to use the navigation system! I couldn’t see the signs! I got lost and felt like a stranger in the woods! Somehow, I managed to get back, and it turned out to be an adventurous day until the very end. This was the only time we got caught in the rain on the often rainy Kauai Island. (laughs)

After being driven around the Paradise Garden we were left to wander and take pictures until the rising out of the pit of the roasted pig - the Imu. The aroma was mouthwatering, and shortly thereafter we were led to the food area, and invited to take our seats. The food was brilliant and plentisome, I doubt many would have left not feeling truly sated.
After the feast, we walked to the theatre (shame that it rained, but it did not dampen our spirits) we were presented with a show of dancing from a range of Pacific countries. The dancers (in the rain) put on a brave face and gave us a great evening. Certainly recommend this to anyone thinking of visiting a Luau.

Loads of fun! Bumping into other people in their innertubes and spinning with the current as you travel through the beautiful rainforest of Kuaui. Derrick and Shae were great guides! My favorite part of a fantastic vacation!

This 1 1/2 hr activity is really good for those who doesn't have upper body strength to do kayak to get to grotto which is a beautiful mystical place. The whole family enjoyed very much the ride and the entertainment whose voice is the future IZ. The staff were all awesome! Thank you all for making our day great!

After we set sail, I thought it was strange that we were heading south, and we kept drifting further away from the Napali Coast. It seems that the waves were too high, and they changed the destination. I was really looking forward to it, so it's a disappointing outcome. I believe there was probably an announcement from the captain before we set off, but I couldn't understand any of the English. At least one small consolation is that I was able to see a whale in the distance.

We had a fantastic time. Ian, Jeremy and Kama did a wonderful job and took great care of us. The scenery was amazing, and they filled us in on some history of the area. We even got to see some whales breach, accompanied by spinner Dolphins!. Great trip and would recommend to anyone. Holo Holo did a first class job!

We had a wonderful time at the Smith Luau. The site is amazing and utterly beautiful; the connection to Kauai history is impressive and impeccable. We enjoyed visiting and getting to know the other people at our table, even though they were strangers. The food was fantastic, varied and perfectly prepared. We loved the fact that nothing felt rushed or skimpy. The presentation in the theater was exceptionally well performed and really captured the variety of island cultures that have created this Pacific paradise. There was absolutely nothing about this evening that I would have made any different.

AMAZING! If you haven't booked a luau this trip Do THE CRUISE!

When we booked our trip to HI my husband had been 3-4 times already. I hadn't been at all. He convinced me not to book a luau. We really like food and figured we'd save the money for something else. Once we got to HI I was really-really bummed we didn't have a luau on the docket, and it was too late to book anything.

This cruise was amazing and once we did it we weren't so bummed about missing the luau. The cruise is so peaceful. The guide is a smith family member and his family owns the land surrounding the river. He knows so much about the land and has tons of stories he tells while you cruise up and down the river.

You stop at the fern grotto, which is so cool. It's a must see on any trip to Kauai. The musicians on the cruise play songs and play a special song to people who have just gotten married or celebrating anniversaries.

Then on the ride back the musicians play native songs. It's the next best thing to a luau.

Already did it once but will do it again!

Overall me and my wife had a great time at the Luau. The gardens were really nice to walk around in and see all the different types of plants and trees. The show was really nice, they showcased dances from the different cultures that make up Hawaii. The only thing that my wife didn't like was the food. I personally didn't think it was too bad. Definitely a good experience for anyone visiting the island!

Highky recommend this tour, our pilot was the best, we loved the tour it was beautiful to see Kauai from the air, we were able to see the waterfalls, the scenery is breath taking. All I can tell you is book this trip ASAP. And I highly recommend purchasing the YouTube video of your trip you will love it and you can send it to all your friends and family. They will certainly be jealous. If this is on your bucket list, just do it...it's worth it.
