Hawaii
Me and my partner went for the Pearl Harbor trip yesterday with the Missouri battle ship included.
The pick up was a breeze with the bus driver, Larry (from Royalty STAR motorcoach), probably being the highlight of the tour. Not just knowledgeable about the history and language of Hawaii but extremely funny and interactive.
The busses are air-conditioned and has a toilet on board. There is toilets and food outlets when you get dropped off.
Upon doing this trip it really gives you the appreciation of what actually happend.
If doing the trip its really worth consider doing the battleships as well, gives a good feel of what it's like living on those ships.
This is our 4th time to visit Hawaii and we always start by spending several days in Oahu before moving on to another island. The Veltra Deluxe Arizona Memorial Tour and Historical City Tour is a must no matter how many times you visit because we always need to remember the extreme sacrifices made for us by our brave men and women of the military. We've been all over the world and Paradise Cruise is one of the very best tour companies ever! HIGHLY recommend this tour. Our guide was Marlon and he was super!
The tour from was amazing from the start. Larry, the driver and guide, was knowledgeable and very informative. The experience at the Arizona Memorial and the Battleship Missouri was pleasant. We were able to complete both ahead of the time we had originally expected which allowed for us to complete other activities sooner.Larry would give little pointers that would help things go more smoothly for us as tourist. The seats on the bus were comfortable and the ride was smooth. The additional tour of the city was unexpected, but vey pleasant. We learned about the monkey trees and why they are here, the Chinese trees at the cemetery where U.S. Soldiers are buried. We would definitely recommend!
I was pleasantly surprised by this tour. Since I am really not a history buff, I was not sure I would enjoy it, but I am so glad that we went. The trip was very well organized and our driver, Larry was fabulous. He was a wealth of knowledge and he explained a lot about the local history and he provided an entertaining vocabulary lesson. He also kept us in schedule and provided specific directions as to where we needed to be and the timeframes we had for each area. The tour itself was very detailed and I highly recommend the Arizona tour as well. The film prior to the tour was contained actual footage of the attack and painted a realistic picture of the magnitude of the attack. All of the guides were very knowledgeable and took time to answer all of the questions. The battle ship was amazing and you can pretty much go through the entire ship. I would recommend tennis shoes as the ladders can be tricky in flip flops. We have done several excursions over the past week and I highly recommend you include this one as a must do!
Took the Hidden Oahu doors off flight with Jim. It was AMAZING!!! Jim is fantastic and the views are amazing. If you're going to take a helicopter ride, you definitely want to go Doors Off!
We would like to thank the staff of veltra for their outstanding services with helping making our dream vacation a reality, we really enjoyed the whole adventure - it took us awhile to choose which to do but I am so glad we picked this one - the staff at each event were very knowledgeable.
Thanks Again
Would recommend this for everyone. It was something to see. and remember.
Loved every second of it. Highly recommended!!! If you want the best experience then look no further.
Margo was awesome. The flight was so much fun and exillerating. I highly recommend this company
My husband and I would highly recommend this excursion to everyone that's considering it. We liked that once we arrived at Pearl Harbour, our tickets were ready and given to us. There was no waiting in lines only to tell us our tour time would be many hours later!!! (If you go on your own, your ticket may instruct you to come back 3 or more hours laters since it books up daily). Booking through this company kept from having to deal with all of that! We had enough time to tour the grounds before our show and ride to the Arizona Memorial. Then, we traveled by bus to the USS Missouri. We decided to take the guided tour and still had time to explore the extras on our own before we had to meet for the bus for our return trip. This excursion was very informative, and we would do it again!
Without doubt the best experience we had while here. Doug the pilot was full of knowledge, funny, great with the kids on board and made the tour even better if possible.
Everything from booking to the flight was smooth and professional.
Can not recommend this enough. It's simply a must!!
It was such a great experience! I booked it as a surprise for my mums birthday and she loved it. It's greatly priced especially for it going for 45mins - usually that time frame would cost nearly double that.
The pilot (Margo) did a wonderful job, she pointed a lot of things out, she was funny and made us all feel completely safe :)
I highly recommend it to everyone! Loved every minute of it.
We really enjoyed our tour. We were given a good amount of time to explore each area. Would have like a little more time on the Missouri. Loved the information all the history. Highly recommended.
Our driver -Keow (certainly misspelled)--made the day. Picked up promptly from our hotel---the days schedule was laid out for us. Pearl Harbor is a solemn and reverent place. We did the USS Missouri tour also---excellent. Keow (?) was fantastic---he was knowledgeble and funny and entertaining. He even sang some Elvis---pretty well too! Pearl Harbor is an amazing place---they do a great job . Great day--great company.
This was the final activity of our week in Oahu for our 10yr anniversary and WOW!! Talk about ending with a bang. The views were awesome, the pilot was a nice guy and the ride was smooth. For me the best part was the view of pearl harbor, we went and visited the Arizona Memorial earlier that week but to see the aerial view was simply stunning, the emotions were ones that will never be forgotten, thanks to Makani Kai Helicopter Tours.
Daniel, thank you very much for your great review. I'm happy that you so thoroughly enjoyed your tour. Come back sometime and try our Doors Off tour...it's a gas.
This was the most beautiful way of seeing the island! This is my third year spending the summer with my family on Oahu, I have been blessed to be able to spend so much time on this beautiful Island and seeing it from above brought a whole new perspective. Margo was wonderful!! Thank you so very much! I only wish our video had come out.
Of everything we did seeing the Arizona & USS Missouri was our favorite. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and courteous. We learned so much history and was just at awe to get to see Pearl Harbor!
Wonderful experience. Disappointed that we didn't get to go on memorial due to maintenance but overall loved it. Bus driver should get a raise. My favorite part of whole week there was listening to her talk about the culture and her family. Loved it.
The tour was excellent! Our driver Michael was very knowledgeable and pointed out plenty of landmarks. Adequate time was allotted for each part of the tour. Highly recommended!!
Was a totally awesome experience and Pilot Jeanette was great as well. Loved it.
Historically speaking - it was great
Emotionally, however, the feeling of disappointment that the Arizona Memorial was not opened and still under construction was overwhelming. And, the price for the One Day Passport was not reduced for this inconvenience.
The activity was well worth the price as my nephew is a history buff an enjoyed the tour.. There was just one problem, two of the elevators were down on the USS Missouri and my nephew was on crutches and he could not cover the whole ship. My nephew still happy and enjoyed the tour guides knowledge.
This is one activity NEVER come to Wakiki and DO NOT GO TO. Even though we could not board the USS Arizona due to construction We got to go out in Nave vessels close as we could and being a veteran of Vietnam era I find it extremely touching each time I encounter this attraction. In 6 trips I have 6 visits.
I had 4 ladies youngest 69 oldest 86 wanted to do a helicopter ride and hoped to see Tom Selleck (Magnum PI) but settled instead for what they described as a fantastic view of Pearl Harbor from an aerial perspective.
Our first time in a helicopter and it was a fantastic experience. Seeing the island from this perspective is a must. Our pilot, Jim, was absolutely the best. He was highly informative and so funny. His piloting skills were phenomenal. If we are fortunate enough to make a return trip to the island, we will be flying again with these folks and we will definetely be requesting Jim as our pilot.
Jim, our pilot, was seriously great. From the moment Peter picked us up, I wasn't jittery. And I get jittery. But everything was calm and relaxing and the tour was great! Jim was hilarious and knowledgable.
Thanks, Ardi, for taking the time to write. A good review is like catnip to our folks...they love getting feedback. I'm glad that you enjoyed your experience.
My family and I went to this tour for the very first and we had fun with our experience. We were able to visit one of this historical sites in Hawaii but also our tour guide named Cody was a very jolly person and entertained us while we are on the bus. I would recommend this tour to my other families and friends as well. :)
Had a fantastic time. Cuzin Kimo was an outstanding host and tour guide. Totally recommend it, couldn't ask for a better day. Thanks again.
Nothing compares to see the whole Island from above.
Definitely must-do for every visitor.
Take Eco-Star it is quiet and you feel like on the flying carpet.
Our day at Pearl Harbor was poignant and thought provoking about one of the United States' greatest experiences with man's inhumanity to man. It made us proud that we persevered and eventually won this horrible war, but saddened and overwhelmed that so many lost their lives in this effort. As for what could be improved in the commercial experience, I would recommend fliers accompany the headsets we rented for the Arizona tour to provide better information regarding how to work them. We had difficulty working these, and turned them in early before realizing how they should work. We arrived late for our tour time due to rental car issues, so it is possible this criticism is unfair as we had to rush to make the start of our tour. Aside from that it was wonderfully educational and I would recommend it to everyone. It's a great place simply to sit and contemplate what might have been.
