I stayed at a hotel near Kuhio Beach. I changed into my swimsuit at the hotel and took The Bus to get there. There were no particular landmarks at the meeting point, but staff appeared as the time approached. The staff spoke only English. It was a good decision to come in my swimsuit instead of changing there. The meeting point was in front of the restroom, but it was unavailable. There was a restroom on the yacht.

I took motion sickness medication based on other people's reviews, and none of my family of six experienced seasickness. The yacht, with its pink sails against the blue sky, was very beautiful. There were two staff members, who might have been brothers. They were cheerful and very kind. I was a bit anxious about not understanding English, but I felt at ease.

Since I can't swim, I borrowed a life jacket. During snorkeling, we were guided to a spot where we could see sea turtles. There is a rule that you must not approach within one meter, and if you accidentally get too close, you will be stopped. There were many beautiful fish, and I could have watched them forever. After snorkeling, before heading back to the port, we went a little east, allowing us to enjoy the beautiful scenery.

シュノーケリングでは、ウミガメのいるポイントまで案内してもらえました。1メートル以内に近づいてはいけないルールがあり、うっかり近づきすぎると制止されます。魚もたくさんいてとても綺麗で、ずっと見ていたいくらいでした。シュノーケリングが終わった後は、港に戻る前に少し東に走らせてくれて、美しい景色も堪能できました。

I wondered if everything would be okay, but when we arrived at the visitor center, it was cloudy and we couldn't see the summit. Trusting the words of our guide, Shoyo, who said, "The weather at the top is different," we headed towards the summit. At a certain point (around 3000m?), the clouds cleared, and it was a beautiful sunny day. He carefully explained the Palomar Observatory group as we toured around. And then came the much-anticipated sunset. It was a bit cold and windy, but we were able to see the most amazing sunset. After the sun went down, we enjoyed stargazing a little further down. We could see the Milky Way perfectly. It was great to see Saturn through the telescope. The explanation of the constellations was in Japanese, so I understood it well. It was truly a fun experience, thank you very much.

The live music was fun while traveling on the boat to The Sandbar and the donuts were fresh and good. The tubing was an absolute blast! The banana boat was not as fun as the tubing and my wife fell off although we did see sea turtles while on the banana boat. We would definitely do the tubing again. The snorkeling was fun with lots of fish swimming right in front of my face and a coral reef below you while you float on your stomach. The board you can stand on or kneel on and paddle was interesting and challenging. They also had kayaks but everybody wanted to use the boards. Playing volleyball with multiple people out in the water was fun and they also had other toys like footballs and water guns but nobody really used them. Just swimming in the middle of the ocean while standing on the sandbar was a blast. The sandwiches on the way home we're also fresh and good. The only thing that could make this better was if the boat did not have a roof so we can feel the breeze and fresh air while traveling out to The Sandbar. Overall I would definitely recommend this and do it again!

It's definitely important to check the tides. After playing for a while, we went snorkeling, but about half of the group stayed on the boat.

Since all participants were Japanese, it was initially assumed that the communication would be in English, but ultimately everything was conducted in Japanese. The Japanese staff made sure to accommodate only Japanese participants and were considerate right up until the last moment.

One, she had to read off a paper about what happened on Dec-7. many times she lost her place and had to start over! If I couldn' t remember what happend I'd give on my job! Volunteer on Missouri was terrific,older retired military, very good presentation,knew what the hell he was talking about unlike the woman Ranger!

Thanks to the lovely Japanese guide Fuko, who greeted us with a smile, I had a great time throughout the trip. She talked a lot about Hawaii while we were on the boat and brought us drinks; she was truly a considerate tour guide. A pod of spinner dolphins swam around the boat for a long time, jumping and showing off their cute appearances. During snorkeling, we saw several green sea turtles. There weren't many fish, but I was very satisfied!

This was my second participation in 16 years. The weather at the base was bad, but as the guide explained, it was fine at the summit, and I had a wonderful experience. I was thrilled to see a sky full of stars again. I don't know when I'll come back next, but I definitely plan to participate again when I visit the Big Island.

The weather was favorable, and I was able to see wonderful scenery. The sunset over the sea of clouds at the summit of Mauna Kea was truly breathtaking. James, our guide this time, knew all the photo spots and took a lot of pictures for us. It was a great memory.

During the stargazing, we had a guide who spoke Japanese, which made everything very easy to understand and interesting.

The staff were all very friendly and kind, so even if you have concerns about the language, you'll be fine!

This was our first time doing this excursion. It did not disappoint. Wes, our guide was so knowledgeable and very impressive with explaining things in English and Japanese. The views were breathtaking.

This time, I participated in the long-awaited Mauna Kea sunset and stargazing tour on the Big Island. There was a paid shuttle service to the hotel where I was staying, and we started from there. We headed from the Kona area to Waikoloa, picking up other guests along the way, aiming for the summit in a 12-passenger bus. Our guide was James. The main instructions were in English, but he made a great effort to include Japanese for us, and his explanations were very easy to understand as he spoke slowly.

We took a break at the Onizuka Center to acclimatize to the high altitude. At that time, there was fog, and it was uncertain whether we could reach the summit, but thanks to the ranger checking the situation and clearing the way, we were able to proceed safely to the top. Although I didn't feel unwell, I realized the importance of staying hydrated and having light snacks as a precaution against altitude sickness.

The sunset at the summit was one of the most beautiful sights of my life. The view of the sun setting on the horizon and the changing colors of the sky was indescribably moving. James was very kind with photography, using a professional camera to take wonderful pictures. Additionally, there was a Japanese guide on another bus, which was reassuring as we could hear detailed explanations in Japanese.

During the tour, we were served BLT sandwiches and water, which filled us up. There were also jackets and pants available for rent to keep warm, making it comfortable. As night fell, the long-awaited stargazing began. The guide carefully explained the constellations and the universe, and I was able to see the most beautiful Milky Way and a sky full of stars in my life. There were opportunities for photography under the starry sky and hot cocoa service, making it a truly comprehensive experience.

I highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting the Big Island. It was worth more than the price, and it became an unforgettable experience.

今回、ハワイ島で念願だったマウナケアのサンセットと天体観測ツアーに参加しました。宿泊していたホテルまで有料送迎があり、まずはそこからスタート。他のゲストをピックアップしながらコナ地区からワイコロアへ向かい、12人乗りのバスで山頂を目指しました。ガイドを務めてくれたのはジェームスさん。基本は英語での案内でしたが、私たちのために一生懸命日本語も交えてくれ、スピードもゆっくりで非常に聞きやすい説明でした。

途中、オニヅカセンターで休憩し、高地に体を慣らしました。このとき霧が発生しており、山頂まで行けるかどうかはギリギリの状況でしたが、レンジャーが状況を確認し道を開けてくれたため、無事に頂上まで進むことができました。体調不良は特になかったものの、高山病対策として水分補給や軽食を心がけることが大切だと感じました。

そして迎えた山頂でのサンセットは、これまでの人生で一番といえるほどの美しさでした。水平線に沈む太陽と、空の色合いが刻々と変化していく光景は、言葉では言い尽くせない感動でした。ジェームスさんは写真撮影にもとても親切で、プロ仕様のカメラを使って素晴らしい写真を撮ってくれました。さらに、別のバスには日本人ガイドも同行しており、日本語で詳しい解説を聞くことができたのも安心できるポイントでした。

ツアー中にはBLTサンドイッチと水のサービスがあり、これでお腹を満たすことができました。寒さ対策として上着やズボンの貸し出しもあり、快適に過ごせました。夜になると、待ちに待った天体観測が始まります。ガイドが星座や宇宙の解説を丁寧にしてくれ、人生で最も美しい天の川と満天の星空を見ることができました。星空の下での写真撮影やホットココアのサービスもあり、まさに至れり尽くせりの内容でした。
