We participated in a tour as a family.
Although the clouds were thick at the summit of Haleakalā and we couldn't see the sunset, we were able to witness a wonderful starry sky.
The starry sky at 3,000 meters on Haleakalā was truly amazing.
The tour owner, Mr. Yamauchi, guided us into the wonderful world of the stars.
Thank you for a very lovely time.
Many people have participated in this tour, and wonderful things and miracles are happening.
I was also able to see a magnificent sight under the starry sky.
I am grateful for such a wonderful encounter.

I attended the Chief's luau with my husband, siblings/spouses, and my elderly parents. A great time was had by all....even got my parents (temporary) tattooed at the event! We enjoyed the pre-show activities and the food was delicious. Chief and his group of entertainers put on an excellent show. This was my first luau, but my siblings had been to others on previous visits and said Chief's luau was their favorite.

First, I was filled with the stars in the sky. The Milky Way was clearly visible, and shooting stars appeared so quickly that I didn't even have time to make a wish; it was a series of breathtaking moments. I was well-prepared for the cold, and at just the right time, warm tea was served, making me forget the chill as I looked up at the sky. The warm bento was delicious as well. I encountered stars I had never seen before, like the red star and the butterfly star. I would love to participate again.

Luau show in heavy rain 大雨のルアウショー

I had heard that the Kona area has little rain, but it seems this year has been quite rainy, and the day we attended the luau show was a disaster (crying).

First, we checked in at the luau desk in the hotel. It was popular, so there was a line, but it was completed smoothly. However, when we went out to the beach, there was a long line. The host was speaking amusingly, but those in the back couldn't hear at all. After entering, I purchased a women's dendrobium lei for $6 and a men's kukui lei for $5. We took a commemorative photo here, but due to the chaos from the heavy rain afterward, photos were not available for purchase anywhere.

We were seated at a table with Americans, greeting and shaking hands. Drinks were free, but since there was only one lady serving, there was another long line. The meal included poi and about three types of meat. The taste was American-style, which I liked.

Just as the meal began, it started to rain... what began as a light drizzle quickly turned into a decent downpour, and everyone was given bath towels to cover their heads. The tablecloth, the trays with food, and everything got soaked from the rain. The drinks were diluted by the rainwater.

Originally, there were supposed to be various activities before the meal, but as the rain intensified, everything was cleared away in about 15 minutes. We couldn't participate in anything. There was no whole roasted pig either. The main show ended up being super fast-paced and finished in no time (laughs). It was supposed to end after 8 PM, but surprisingly, it wrapped up by 6:30 PM, and the band, food, and audience all cleared out immediately.

Despite this disappointing experience, only a few people left their seats, and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves to some extent until the end. I had high expectations based on good reviews, and since it was my first day on the Big Island, I was really looking forward to it, but it ended up being a letdown. I'm unsure if I would want to see it again next time.

まずホテル内のルアウデスクでチェックイン。やはり人気で並んでましたがこれは簡単スムーズに完了。
しかしビーチに出てみると長蛇の列。司会進行役が面白おかしく喋っていますが、後方には全く聞こえず。
入場してから女性用デンファレレイを＄６で購入、男性用のククイレイは＄５。ここで記念写真を撮りますが、この後の大雨のバタバタで写真販売はどこでもされておらず買えず仕舞。

通された席はアメリカの方たちと同じテーブルで、挨拶したり握手したり。
ドリンクはフリーですが、おばちゃん一人で対応しているのでこれまた長蛇の列。食事はポイなどもあり、お肉の種類も３種類ほどありました。味もアメリカンな味で私は好きです。
さて食事が始まってすぐに雨が,,,小雨だったの束の間、そこそこの雨が降り出し、全員にバスタオルが配られ皆が頭からすっぽり白いタオルをずっとかぶってました。テーブルクロスも食事の入ったトレーも料理も全部雨でぐしょぐしょ。グラスのお酒は雨で薄まって水になってました。

本来なら食事前に色んなアクティビティがあったようですが、雨が強くなってどれも１５分ほどで撤収。何も参加できず。豚の丸焼きもありませんでした。
肝心のショーも超早送りであれよあれよという間に終わって（笑）２０時過ぎ終了予定がなんと１８時半には終わって、バンドも料理も観客も即撤収。
そんな散々な内容でしたが、席を立つ人は数名だけで、みんな最後までそれなりに楽しんでいました。

口コミも良く、初ハワイ島初日だったので期待していましたが、残念な結果に終わってしまいました。次回もう一回観るかは悩むなー

After completing the 2012 Maui Marathon, I participated with my important partner. Initially, I was worried about whether I could enjoy it after running, but with Yamauchi-san's excellent guidance and the beautiful sunset, all the fatigue from the marathon disappeared.

Later, I couldn't stop crying at the starry sky, which looked like a treasure chest turned upside down against the pitch-black night sky. Thanks to the techniques of our guide Yamauchi-san, we miraculously got to see Saturn, which was truly amazing!

This was the first time I had such a wonderful experience, and I feel like it changed my perspective on life. I also fell in love with Maui, the sky, and the mountains thanks to the best tempura (laughs) and the fantastic guide. I'm really glad I could share this experience with my important partner. The day after the Maui Marathon, I participated with my husband.

Aside from the sunset, I was moved by the countless stars we could see. We were even shown Saturn and Mars by Mr. Yamauchi, which we could never see in our everyday lives. I believe everyone who joined the tour was satisfied.

Also, there was a group of three lively and powerful ladies from Osaka who participated in the same tour, and it made me think that I want to stay energetic and positive no matter how old I get. Mr. Yamauchi also joked several times, "Osaka ladies are interesting. Is it Yoshimoto?" I fell in love with Maui.

マウイマラソンの翌日に主人と参加しました。

サンセットもさる事ながら、無数の星が見られた事に感動しました。
普段では絶対に見る事ができない、土星や火星も山内さんに見せて頂きました。
ツアーに参加されたみなさん、満足されたと思います。

また、同じツアーに大阪から参加されていたのおばさま三人組の方が気さくでパワフルで、私も何歳になっても元気で前向きにいたいなあ・・・と思いました。
山内さんも「大阪のおばちゃんは面白い。吉本ですか~？」と何度もつっこまれていましたね。
マウイ島、大好きになりました。

If you're staying in the Kailua-Kona area, this is definitely something you should see at least once!

Since I attended with a child under three years old, I was a bit worried about whether it would be okay, but I enjoyed the donuts, appreciated that they had prepared warm clothing for small children, and saw some unique clocks at the shops we visited. The beautiful sunset and starry sky were, of course, wonderful, but the guide's attention to detail was impressive. My child was also very happy.

Personally, I found the information shared during the drive (stories about life on Maui, discussions about Haleakalā, etc.) to be very interesting and engaging. I usually fall asleep in the car, but I didn't have a moment to doze off.

My mother, who joined me and is in her 60s, also said she had a great time. She was surprised by the specialized astronomy discussions (which were very easy to understand!) and the appearance of a professional telescope, as she thought we would just be looking at the stars. I had imagined simply gazing at the night sky as well (which is already beautiful), so I was surprised too.

They provided a Japanese bento box and tea for dinner, along with candy for dessert, making it a truly satisfying tour. Watching the sunset over the 360-degree horizon and the beautiful starry sky made me forget the hustle and bustle of life in Japan, and I felt refreshed.

I think $160 per person (including hotel pickup) is a great deal. I would love to participate again if I have the opportunity. Lastly, I want to thank our guide, Mr. Yamauchi, for all his help. Thank you very much!

3歳以下の子供を連れての参加だったため、本当に大丈夫かなと不安な面もありましたが、ドーナッツを頂いたり、防寒具を小さい子供用にまで準備して頂いていたり、立ち寄ったお店で珍しい時計を見せて頂いたり、きれいなサンセットや星空は無論素晴らしかったですが、細かいところまでガイドさんの心遣いが行き届いていました。本人も喜んでいました。
個人的には、道中、車中での案内（マウイ島の生活の話、ハレアカラ山の話など。。）もとても面白く、興味深くお聞きしました。私はいつもは車中では寝てしまうのですが、寝る間もなかったです。
一緒に参加した60代の母もとても楽しかったと喜んでいました。星空をただ見るだけと思っていたので、専門的な天文学のお話（ですがとてもわかりやすい！）や本格的な望遠鏡の登場には驚いたと言っていました。私もただ星空を見上げることを想像していた（それでも十分キレイですが。）のでびっくりしました。
夕食に日本食のお弁当とお茶、食後の飴まで用意して頂き、本当に大満足のツアーでした。360度の地平線に沈むサンセット、美しい星空を眺めて、日本での生活のめまぐるしさを忘れて、心があらわれるような気分でした。
これで一人160ドル（ホテル送迎付）はお安いと思います。また機会があればぜひ参加したいです。最後になりましたがガイドの山内さん、本当にお世話になりました。どうもありがとうございました。

5 - Decent food for a buffet, some unique Hawaiian dishes. Nothing too fancy. It's not about the food, much more about the experience overall.

It was our first time in Hawaii and our first and only luau. We are happy we went and experienced it on the 2nd night of our vacation. It is worth it to have the luau experience and great fun!

We participated as a family. Since it was about wild dolphins, we were able to see a family of dolphins shortly after the boat started moving. At the front of the boat, we could also see many flying fish several times.

I wanted to see the dolphins a bit closer, but since snorkeling was the main activity this time, we traveled for about an hour.

For breakfast (light snacks), we could freely make our own bread and fruit, and the burgers for lunch were also delicious, along with fresh potato salad and vegetables. Maui chips were available as snacks, which was nice.

We could always have warm drinks, and there were many options for cold drinks. We could also have alcohol for an additional fee.

On the day of the trip, we were the only Japanese people, but the staff kindly supported us, which made us feel at ease. They lent us prescription masks, and the facilities were well-equipped with showers, noodle and glass-bottomed boards to see below. The snorkeling spot had high visibility, and the waves were at a safe height, allowing us to swim comfortably even in deeper areas.

On the way back, we were also able to see a turtle, and we were very satisfied.

朝食(軽食)のパンやフルーツ、昼食のバーガーも自分たちで自由に作ることができ、ポテトサラダや野菜も新鮮でおいしくいただけました。マウイチップスもスナックとしてあり良かったです。

また温かい飲み物は常時飲むことができ、冷たい飲み物の種類も多かったです。追加料金でお酒も飲むことができました。


当日、日本人は自分達だけでしたが、スタッフにやさしくサポートしてもらえたので安心でした。マスクも度付きのを貸出してもらい。ヌードルやグラスで下が見えるビート版等、シャワー完備と充実しておりました。シュノーケルのスポットは、透明度が高く、深くても安心して泳げる波の高さでした。

帰りにカメも見ることができ、とても満足しています。

This was our fourth trip to Hawaii as a couple, and it was our first time on the Big Island. I was really looking forward to seeing an authentic outdoor luau show for the first time as well. Overall, it was excellent.

I had checked reviews beforehand about the need to "line up before entering the venue," so after checking into our hotel (it was the night of our arrival, and we were staying at the King Kamehameha), we took care of the process right away. They gave us a paper with the reception time, but even though we arrived about 30 minutes early, there was quite a line! Most of the audience were Westerners, with only about 20% being Japanese. Normally, it seems that Japanese guests are seated together, which allows for taking photos and chatting, but we were seated at a table with only Westerners, with no Japanese guests at all...

We were seated at one of the end seats in the front row facing the stage, which was very calming. We could see the ocean and the Ahuena Heiau in the background, and we had a great view of the dancers' entrance scenes, which made us very satisfied.

I wanted to experience the traditional imu ceremony at least once, and it was good, but after experiencing it once, I think I'm okay with it... (The smell was quite strong since they steam the pig at high temperatures.)

The food was traditional and served buffet-style, so we could enjoy a variety of dishes. The drinks were all-you-can-drink, which was nice, but since our table was at the front, it was quite a trek to get to the drink station.

They also showcased dances from neighboring islands, which was great. As a fellow hula dancer, I was able to observe from various angles, and it was a good learning experience.

Unfortunately, it started to rain heavily during the show, and it ended quite a bit earlier than scheduled, which was a bit disappointing.

Overall, I was a bit anxious about not having any Japanese guests around, but we still had a great time, so it was very good.

夫婦でのハワイ旅行は、4度目にして、初めてのハワイ島でした。
また、屋外での、本格的なルアウショーを観るのも初めてでしたので、とても楽しみにしていました。
結果としては、◎でした。

「会場に入るまで並ぶ」というのを事前にクチコミでチェックしていたので、ホテルチェックイン後（到着日の夜だったのと、ちょうど宿泊先がキングカメハメハだったので）すぐに、手続きをしました。
受付時間を書いた紙をその場でくれたのですが、それでも、少し早めの30分前位に会場へ行ったにも関わらず、結構並んでいました！！
観覧客はほとんどが欧米人で、日本人は2割位だったかと思います。
また、通常は、日本人は日本人同士でテーブルセッティングしてくださるみたいですが（写真を撮り合ったり、お話したりできるから）、私達夫婦は、日本人がひとりもいない、欧米人のみのテーブルへ通されました・・・

ステージ側の前の方の、一番端の席だったため、とても落ち着き、バックには海とアフエナヘイアウ、ダンサーたちの登場シーンもよく見ることができ、とても満足でした。

伝統的なイムセレモニーは、一度は経験したかったので、よかったですが、一度経験すれば、もういいかな。。。
（豚さんを高温で蒸し焼きするので、匂いがかなりきつかったのです）

お食事は伝統的なもので、ビュッフェ式でしたので、いろいろ楽しめました。
ドリンクも飲み放題で、こちらもよかったのですが、テーブルが前の方だったので、その分、ドリンクの所へたどり着くまでが、とても遠かったです。

ハワイだけでなく、近隣の島々の踊りも織り交ぜながら、披露してくださいます。
同じフラダンサーとしては、いろいろな角度から、観させていただき、よい勉強になりました。

途中で雨がたくさん降ってきてしまい、時間よりもかなり早く終わってしまい、それが少し残念でした。

全体的には、日本人が周りにいなくて不安はありましたが(^^ゞ
それでも楽しめたので、とてもよかったです。

It was a tour full of laughter and emotion. Under the careful guidance of Mr. Yamauchi, we were able to see wonderful scenery. I highly recommend it for solo travelers, families with children, and first-timers!

The cruise was filled with Japanese people, so it didn't feel like I was in Hawaii. When I watched the countdown fireworks from the deck, there were a lot of people, and everyone counted down together, which was very exciting. The food wasn't particularly delicious, but the atmosphere on the deck was nice. The fireworks viewed from the deck were better than those seen from the beach in Honolulu.

クルーズのフロアーは日本人だらけで、ハワイにいる感じがしなかったです。デッキからカウントダウンの花火を見た時は、人が大勢いて、みんなでカウントダウンをし、とても盛り上がりました。料理は特に美味しいわけでもありませんが、デッキでの雰囲気は良かったです。ホノルルのビーチから見る花火より、デッキから見た花火の方が最高でした。

Wonderful Family Experiance

This was a great experiance for our whole family. This was Mine and my wife's second Laua but the first for my two kids who are 7 and 12. I was a little worried about the kids experiance. They both had a wonderful time and cant wait to go back. The service was great and very entertaining. The food was excellant. As far as the entertainment, it was top notch. We learned alot about the differant cultures and were amazed by the talent of the dancers, who also added some good humor to the show. This is definitly a Laua we will be back to.

We participated as a couple and happened to have a private experience with just two other participants. Thanks to Yamauchi's attentive service, we reached the summit joyfully.

Even though there were some clouds making visibility difficult, we were able to move to different spots and enjoyed a stunning sunset and starry sky. The sunset was breathtaking, but the stars were so beautiful that words can't describe it. It was astonishing to see stars that are so different from what we usually see. We were able to see many stars that are rarely visible, and we also spotted several shooting stars. The special stars were truly surprising.

While the stars were amazing, Yamauchi's personality was wonderful, and he was a truly lovely person. His life philosophy and discussions about stars and the universe were captivating and moving. I feel like I can draw strength from remembering Yamauchi whenever I face challenges in life! I heard such great stories.

In any case, I believe participating in this tour is definitely worth it. Considering the content, the price is reasonable. If you're going to join, go with Yamauchi!

This has become the best memory of my time in Oahu and Maui. I definitely want to go again someday. Please continue to show that starry sky to many others, and keep this tour going until the next time I can join!☆

夫婦2人で参加してたまたま参加者2人と貸切状態の参加でした。山内さんの丁寧な対応で楽しく山頂に到着できました。
多少雲があり見にくい状態でも場所の移動などしていただきばっちり夕日、星空を見る事ができました。
夕日も感動的ですばらしかったですが星空はもう言葉にならないほどすごく綺麗でした。ここまで普段見る星と違うのかと。なかなか見れない星がいっぱい見れましたし流れ星もたくさん見れました。とっておきの星はびっくりします。

星も素晴らしかったですが山内さんの人柄がとても良くすごく素敵な方でした。山内さんの人生論や星、宇宙の話などいろいろな話がとても魅力的で感動的でした。これからの人生なんかあったら山内さんを思い出し頑張れる気がします！そんぐらい良い話を聞けました。

とにかくこのツアーは参加して絶対損はしないと思います。内容から考えたら値段も安いと思います。参加するなら山内さんで！

今回のオアフ、マウイでの最高の思い出になりました。いつかまた絶対行きたいです。
これからもいろんな方にあの星空を見せてあげてください。そして次にまた行ける時までずっとこのツアーを続けていてくださいね☆

We were blessed with beautiful weather, and it was the most stunning and wonderful sunset we have ever experienced. We were able to enjoy it thoroughly from a quiet, high place without any noise. Although we had no knowledge of stars, thanks to Mr. Yamauchi's detailed explanations, we felt like we became amateur star enthusiasts. The restroom for breaks was clean and there was a place to change. The hot packs we brought were also useful. It became the best memory of Maui.

Although it was the main highlight of my trip that I was looking forward to, unfortunately, it rained heavily.

Usually, there is a performance where King Kamehameha arrives by boat, followed by a dinner show under the starry sky, but it was suddenly changed to an indoor show.

We had to wait about an hour in the hotel lobby for the setup, but during that time, the MC kept us entertained with jokes and ukulele performances. Chatting with other foreign tourists also became a nice memory.

We moved to a banquet-like area inside the hotel for the show to begin. The performances of singing and dancing, along with audience participation during the cha-cha dance time, were wonderfully entertaining, and I was very satisfied.

The food featured traditional Hawaiian dishes as the main course. It was quite filling, and while tastes may vary, I enjoyed it very much.

We also had plenty of fun with participatory activities like hula lessons, but the hotel hallway felt a bit cramped. I wished we could have done it outside under the sky on the grass. However, it was such a fulfilling show program that I definitely want to participate again on a day with better weather!

I clearly remember the words, "For those visiting Hawaii for the first time, welcome; for those returning, you are friends (aikane); and for those coming for the third time or more, you are all family (ohana)," which warmed my heart.

通常はキングカメハメハがボートに乗ってやってくるパフォーマンスと星空の下でのディナーショーなのですが、急きょ室内でのショーに変更になりました。


セッティングのためホテルロビーにて１時間ほど待たされたのですが、その間も客を飽きさせないようＭＣの方が冗談を飛ばしたりウクレレ演奏があったり。ほかの外国人観光客たちとの立ち話もいい思い出となりました。


ホテル内の宴会場のような場所に移動して、ショーの開始。
歌や踊りのパフォーマンス、観客を巻き込んでのチークダンスタイムなど素敵な演出が盛りだくさんで大満足でした。


料理はハワイの伝統食がメイン。ボリューム満点で好みは分かれるかとも思いますが、私は美味しく頂きました。


フラレッスンなどの参加型アクティビティも十分楽しめたのですが、やはりホテルの廊下では少し狭く、空の下、芝生の上でやりたかったなあという印象。しかし次こそは天候に恵まれた日にまたぜひ参加したい！と思える充実したショープログラムでした。



「一度目のHawaiiのひとは初めまして、
　二度目のひとは友達（aikane）、
三度目以上の人はみんな家族（ohana）」
という言葉に心がほっこりしたのをよく覚えています♪

Fun, food, and educational!

We booked this cruise in particular because it was wheelchair accessible. We were traveling with a friend who is in a wheelchair and we wanted to be able to get her out on the ocean. The crew was fantastic! The ramp was easy and we sat in the front of the boat.
On this cruise to Ke'alakekua, not only was there a wonderful bartender, but also a fabulous array of appetizers and a yummy dinner. AND there was a historian, named Boyd, who was able to tell us the history of the areas we were cruising by. Kudos to Boyd! IN ADDITION to all of this, we were suprised to find out the crew had fishing lines out and caught three large fish! Very exciting for us and also the crew.
This is just a great company with a great crew wo do hospitality right. Loved it all!

This tour was amazing. The donuts were fluffy and delicious, and the makunouchi bento was tasty as well. I started with the food, but Haleakalā was more wonderful than I imagined. On the way to the summit, we entered the clouds and for a moment, we couldn't see anything, but when we emerged, a sea of clouds spread out below us, and I was captivated by the view. I was moved from the very beginning. The colors of the crater, the sunset, and the starry sky were breathtaking. I want to share this wonderful experience, but I feel frustrated that words can't convey it. The guide, as everyone has mentioned in their reviews, loved the stars and made a great effort to share that passion with us, showing excellent consideration. The weather was perfect, the guide was fantastic, and my fellow tour members were great too.

このツアー最高でした。軽食のドーナツふわふわでおいしかった。幕の内弁当おいしかった。・・・と食べることから入ってしまいましたがハレアカラ想像以上にすばらしいものでした。頂上に向かう途中雲の中に入り一瞬何も見えなくなりましたがそれを抜けた時、下に雲海が広がっておりその景色に心奪われました。最初から感動しきりでした。クレーターの色、夕日、そして星空と圧巻の景色でした。このすばらしい体験を伝えたいのに言葉ではつたえられないもどかしさを感じています。ガイドさんも皆さんが口コミされている通り星が大好きで私たちにも一生懸命伝えようとして下さり気配りも最高でした。天気最高、ガイドさん最高、ツアーのお仲間も最高でした。

It was my first time boarding a submarine, and the staff were kind and very helpful. The seabed, which we descended to 100 feet, was naturally filled with fish swimming freely, giving a different impression compared to an aquarium. I highly recommend this activity.
