This was my third time on the Star of Honolulu. I have wonderful memories from my childhood, and I also used it for my honeymoon, but this time I wanted my children to experience it as well.

Like this, I think there are fewer restaurants in Hawaii with dress codes compared to before, and there are fewer opportunities to enjoy a meal in a stylish, luxurious setting, so I believe it's a valuable experience. The steak and lobster (one per person) were as delicious as I expected. I definitely recommend the course over the buffet, and the Three Star is highly recommended.

The service was also excellent. I believe it will be an unforgettable experience for a lifetime. Next time, I hope my children will be grown up and bring someone special with them.

During the shuttle ride, Yamapi explained Haleakalā in both Japanese and English, providing various tips for the drive. Along the way, he helped us purchase donuts and poke bowls at a supermarket as we headed to the summit. Perhaps because it was a day when the moon didn't interfere, the road was congested, so we took photos with the Haleakalā sign with the people we were with. We managed to catch the sunset and captured a beautifully colored sky. The poke bowl we had at the summit was very delicious, and I can understand why Yamapi recommended it. The Krispy Kreme donuts also tasted better than those in Japan. The starry sky was truly moving, as he explained the constellations clearly and showed us the colors of the stars through a telescope. 送迎の車ではやまぴーさんが日本語と英語でハレアカラの説明や運転のアドバイスなど色々お話をしてくれました。途中ドーナツとスーパーでポケ丼を購入する手伝いをしてくれて山頂へ向かいました。今回は月が邪魔しない日だったからか道が渋滞していたのでハレアカラの看板での写真撮影は一緒に行った人同士で撮影しました。なんとか日没に間に合ってとても綺麗な日の入りの空が撮影できました。山頂で食べたポケ丼はとても美味しかったです。やまぴーさんがお勧めするのも頷けます。クリスピークリームドーナツも日本で食べるより美味しく感じました。星空は星座をわかりやすく説明してくれたり、望遠鏡を使って星の色を見せてくれたりとても感動しました。iPhoneでの撮影の仕方も教えてもらえるので自分の携帯でも綺麗な天の川が撮影できました。満天の星空は是非自分の目で見てほしいです。

The view from the deck was very nice, but that's about it. The dinner, in particular, was of the lowest quality. To be honest, the food court in downtown Waikiki is tastier. There was a long line waiting for the buffet, and if you fall behind, you won't be able to return to your seat for 20 minutes. I attended with a small child. The meal was in buffet style and was decent, but we were able to see Hawaiian dances and everyone was dancing together. The sunset was also very beautiful, and it was moving to see it from the land, which was different from what I had experienced before.

This is my third cruise after nine years. The food hasn't changed much, but the portions are generous, and it includes two drinks, plus coffee at the end, which is more than enough. The shows were interactive, and everyone got involved, making it a lot of fun.

I chose the Friday cruise to enjoy the fireworks in Honolulu from the ship. The dining arrangement was cramped because we were seated together with others, and the welcome drink was not brought to us despite multiple requests. We requested a reservation package that included transportation. Our dining seats were on the second floor at a window-side table. We received one complimentary welcome drink, but the food was buffet style and average. It was my first time seeing fireworks from the boat, but since the ship was quite large, we were a bit far away. It might be better to see them up close. I won't be repeating this next time. The tour price was relatively high, and I was much more satisfied with the East Coast North Tour, which was the same price.

I had a guaranteed window seat, enjoyed a course with lobster and steak, sparkling wine, and photos included. The food was great, and I really enjoyed the little conversations with the staff. Their hospitality was outstanding, and they even took pictures with us.

Taking photos on the deck while enjoying the view of Waikiki Beach, Diamond Head, and the sunset was very pleasant. As we approached the middle of the meal, the show began. Just when the excitement was building, we all danced to YMCA together, and before we knew it, the performance came to an end.

Island Breeze Luau at King Kamehameha Kona Beach Hotel with Show, Dinner & Drinks Included

Pros: pig roast being done onsite, got to witness uncovering and presentation of the pig. (my son hated this portion!). menu and performances were both great! I liked different island nations being represented in music and dance and a little bit of story telling/history to tie it together. performance was good length and sunset was gorgeous! desserts and beverages were also delicious.

Cons: attempted to check in entire luau at one time slot. made for a lot of time waisted waiting in hotel lobby check in line. check in inside and then second check in outside felt redundant. we arrived at 5:22, email confirmation had suggested 5:30 check in, but spent several (20+ minutes) waiting to check in. by the time we arrived in luau area, we missed the 'activities' portion of the luau. we also missed the royal entrance of the luau show. we did however have great seats so first-come-first-seated wasn't an issue.

brief meet and greet with performers after the show felt rushed -- they were spread along exit sidewalk and available for a quick picture but were ushering us along immediately, without any chit chat -- which is a huge difference compared to other luaus.

professional photography of your party was an additional $25 for digital download. fresh lei's were an additional $10 each, which in my opinion were reasonably priced but I've had digital photography and leis included at other similarly-priced luaus.

having dined at this marriott the night before and spoken to several guests in the week it seems this particular marriott has become quite overpriced for the level of service and age of property it's become. it has an outstanding location, but is overpriced for the level of service or hospitality i've experienced at other similarly priced marriotts in the islands. pool and restaurants were crowded and bonvoy perks were lacking/zero. kids meals were reasonable, but got charged $10 each for kids scoop of vanilla icecream.

The seating is way to close they are cramming as many people as they can on the boat . The food was not good the meat was not appetizing looking or tasting . The view from the top deck is nice but they really really need to work on the food if they are going to charge you so much we had to get food after still because we couldn’t eat the food from the buffet
