You don't even get your hair wet, and fish swim right up to you and pick at the bread in your hand. You breathe normally. You can see them perfectly clearly and they come to you. This was really fun. Then you can snorkel around the boat while the other people take their turns, in couples, riding the little underwater scooters. Don't do this if you're prone to seasickness. But if you don't want the hassle of SCUBA, this is the best way to be underwater with the bright little fish.

We had a great time on the boat. Rocket and David were very nice. I snorkeled and David helped out the crew. Our friends had fun too. Hopefully we can see you in Hawaii. Aloha!

We just had to write you and express our thanks for our wonderful day trip to Lanai with you this past June. The pod of spinner dolphins that we saw were spectacular - so graceful and we got to see them up close and personal. We couldn't believe how much they like to jump...we got some GREAT pictures. Thanks again!

We were so comfortable! It was amazing. If you are scared, my dad made it with just one arm and at 74 years young. You can do it too! We will tell all our friends!!

I participated with my parents in their 70s and my family, a total of six people. I was worried about my father, as he has weak legs, when boarding the submarine, but my husband supported him, and he was able to get on. We were also able to see a large sea turtle, and my 4-year-old son was very happy. The staff were very kind, and it became a wonderful memory.

In the morning, I participated in a session with Japanese support. It seems that the waves were rough that day, and many people experienced seasickness on the boat ride to the submarine. However, once we submerged, the swaying eased, and I was able to observe the precious ecosystem off the coast of Waikiki, which was satisfying.

午前、日本語対応の回に参加しました。当日は波が荒かったようで、行きの船から潜水艦へ乗り込むまでに船酔いに遇われた方が多かったようです。それでも海中に潜れば揺れは和らぎ、ワイキキ沖の貴重な生態系を観察することができ、満足です。

Myself and a close friend were visiting Oahu for 5 days, and she decided that we should take the time to go 'swimming with sharks.'

Now, keep in mind that I have a tremendous fear of drowning and also am not too keen on the idea of swimming with sharks, but I was convinced to 'live a little,' and I signed us up for the North Shore Shark Adventure- and I am SO GLAD that I did.

The staff were EXTREMELY helpful, witty, and sarcastic in the right places. They put everyone's fears to rest at the beginning of the tour, and were extremely knowledgeable about everything regarding the tour and more. (Who knew that specific sharks will just bump you with their noses and then leave you alone because they have taste buds on the outside of their bodies?)

For those who don't know scuba diving but yet wish to experience the life under the sea, need to do this. Very nice experience and enjoyed it. Try feeding the fish and you are surrounded by them ... various colors of fishes ... would recommend to those who wish to go underwater and don't know swimming like me. A bit discomfort to the ears at the beginning but gets fine soon. Good Instructors and the divers shall be with you throughout your stay in the water. Go for it!!

What a great excursion! The most challenging part of the experience is getting in and out of the boat -- which really is not that hard. It is so great to see sharks up close. I highly recommend this adventure. My boyfriend was freaked out that I had booked this excursion...and now all he does is brag about it. He has no regrets and both of us would do it again in a heart beat. Don't miss out on this treat.

We slowly moved from the Kailua Pier to the submarine by boat. The coastline of Kailua-Kona is beautiful. Once inside the submarine, I was surprised at how spacious it was; we dove 100 feet (about 30 meters) and could see the seabed clearly. I am generally prone to seasickness, and since I was sleep-deprived after participating in the Mauna Kea summit sunrise tour, I experienced mild seasickness. I recommend that those who are prone to seasickness take medication before boarding the boat at the pier.

潜水艦に入って見ると中は意外に広く１００フィート（約３０ｍ）潜り海底まで見えきれい。
もともと船に弱い方で、またマウナケア山頂サンライズツアー参加後すぐで睡眠不足だったので、軽い船酔いになりました。
船に弱い方は、桟橋で船に乗る前船酔いの薬を飲まれる事をお勧めします。

On May 14, I participated in the Dolphin Encounter package at Sea Life Park. I drove there with a rental car and checked in at the ticket center. There are staff members who understand Japanese, so the process went smoothly without any issues. You can enjoy Sea Life Park just fine with only Japanese. The instructors are also fairly proficient in Japanese.

My session started at 11 AM, and there were more participants than I expected. Since my child is 2 years old, I chose this package, but it seemed like my child wanted to interact more with the dolphins and felt it was a bit lacking from start to finish. They seemed eager to feed the dolphins and touch them a lot.

The activities included touching the dolphins, kissing them, and dancing, with photo opportunities for each. Children under 2 years old are free, so if you want to focus on seeing and touching the dolphins up close, this plan is great. If you want to play more thoroughly with the dolphins, it would be better to choose a higher-priced plan. When my child gets older, I would like to sign up for a plan where they can swim with the dolphins.

パッケージを参加しました。レンタカーで現地まで行き
チケットセンターでチェックイン。日本語のわかるスタッフがいますので特に問題なく手続きが終了しました。
シーライフパークは、日本語のみで十分楽しめます。
インストラクターの方もそれなりに日本が堪能です。
11時から参加でしたが、思ったより参加される方が多かったです。
子供が2歳ということもあり、このパッケージを選びましたが、子供がかなりイルカとふれあいたいみたいで、始めから終わりまで物足りなかったようです。
イルカに餌をあげたり、いっぱいさわりしたいようでした。
内容としては、イルカにタッチ、イルカとキス＆ダンス
それぞれ写真撮影があります。
2歳以下は無料ですので、イルカを近くでみたり、さわったりすることを重視するならこのプランです。
イルカとしっかり、遊びたい？かたは、高いプランを選んだ方がいいです。
子供が大きくなったら、イルカと泳げるプランを申し込みしたいと思います。

This was an outstanding activity that we will talk about for years to come. What an experience. I would do it again. The staff was outstanding to the details.

Definitely a must do when visiting Oahu! It is a once in a lifetime experience! Definitely buy the DVD that is offered so you can enjoy the adventure without having to worry about taking pictures! There were a lot of swells the day we went out & even though I normally never get seasick, I was slightly nauseous by the end of the ride. There were a lot of sharks that day & the boat crew really made the experience worth while! GO DO IT!! You will not regret it!

So we took this cruise on our anniversary and it was a really cloudy and gray day. We didn't see any whales that day, but true to their word they issued a rain check. Luckily, we built in a flex day to our trip and were able to go again on Sunday. We saw three whales that day! It was an incredible experience. I definitely recommend this cruise!

The artificial reefs are arranged to attract fish properly, and I was able to see various fish and sea turtles without getting bored.

Meeting wild dolphins is definitely a different experience compared to seeing them in an aquarium. They were so fast and passed by in the blink of an eye, but there were so many of them that it felt like they were everywhere. I was also able to see dolphins jumping right next to the surface.

At the point where we could see turtles, they came so close that I felt like I could touch them, which was exciting.

However, as everyone mentioned, it was really cold on the boat (in April), so renting a wetsuit might be essential. I wore a rash guard, but it was still chilly even in a wetsuit.

I was very satisfied with the tour, but later I found out that Dolphin University, which is a more advanced version of Dolphin Junior High, was cheaper (there was a limited-time discount), and I felt a bit disappointed about that. I wonder what the reasoning is behind such a strange price reversal...

Overall, I was very satisfied with the content of the tour. Thank you very much to all the staff.

野生のイルカに会うのは、やっぱり水族館で見るのとは感激が違いますね。
すごく早くてあっという間に通り過ぎてしまったけれど、すごくたくさんの群れだったので、あっちにもこっちにもって感じで。
水面ではイルカのジャンプもそばで見れました。

カメが見れるポイントでは、さわってしまいそうになるくらい間近に現れて、ワクワクしたし。

ただ（今回4月の）船の上では皆さんが仰っているようにすごく寒いので、ウェットスーツのレンタルは必須かもしれません。
ラッシュガードを着ていきましたが、ウェットスーツでも寒いくらいなので。

すごく大満足のツアーだったのですが、イルカ中学のランクアップ版であるイルカ大学の方が値段が安かった（期間限定の割引ですが）ってことを後で知って、すごく損したような複雑な気分になったので、その点はちょっと・・う~んマイナスです。
どういった理由でそのような不思議な逆転値段設定なのか・・

ツアーの内容自体は大満足でした。

This cruise was fantastic!! We saw so many whales. The captain did a wonderful job anticipating where they would reemerge. It was fantastic. We initially didn't order the lunch, but we added it, and I firmly recommend that you add it as well. The timing fits in perfectly within the trip and the kids loved eating the plentiful buffet. The activities are fun and there is plenty of room. My daughter made a lei for her mom to wear. Overall a great value and a tremendous time!

The kids loved it. The ride out was fun, we saw several sea turtles swimming alongside the boat. The staff were friendly and helpful. My wife was slightly disappointed that the shipwrecks were all planted by Atlantis, but there were many more varieties of sealife than I expected. Overall, we all enjoyed it. This was our most expensive activity, but I am glad that we included it. We were on the larger, newer sub and the viewing ports were better than anticipated. My kids, ages 6 to 16, all enjoyed it.

We participated as a family.
This was our first time going whale watching.
Since there were few Japanese passengers, there were no staff who spoke Japanese on board.
As a result, all the announcements and explanations were in English.
I couldn't understand the detailed explanations, but I thoroughly enjoyed the whale watching.
With fewer passengers, we were able to move around to various positions on the boat, making the watching environment the best.
I was particularly moved by the sight of the whales breaching.
I couldn't help but scream in excitement.
However, since we were expecting to see the breaching right in front of us, it was disappointing that the moment happened quite far away.
Lastly, perhaps due to the bad weather, the catamaran rocked quite a bit. Even though I took motion sickness medication, I still got seasick.

This was a very time. The guides were a little stiff at first but loosened up enough for all to enjoy it. The sights were fantasitc as was the snorkling. We saw 2 species of dolphins and many whales. The snorkling was great. The raft has a toliet so that too was a plus.

The staff was great and tour was better than expected. We saw lots of turtles.

After whale watching, having a meal while enjoying Hawaiian music on a leisurely cruise is the best. Unfortunately, the whales were only small dots in the distance... However, I was able to see whales up close the day before during a dinner cruise, so I was able to accept it. It's all about timing.

We were able to see a mother and baby whale right after we set sail. I was surprised because I thought we wouldn't see them unless we went further offshore! Amidst the cheers of the people around us, we took lots of photos. Soon after, we spotted more whales... When we returned to the cabin, lunch was already prepared. The meal was just okay, I would say. We also got to participate in a ukulele class with the kids, which was a lot of fun.

On March 26, 2010, I participated with my family of five (myself, my wife, our 14-year-old son, 12-year-old daughter, and 9-year-old son). It was a tour with lunch included but no transportation provided. We took The Bus from Waikiki to Aloha Tower. At check-in, we received a green sticker to wear on our chests, and when we arrived at the ship's entrance, a handsome man who appeared to be the captain welcomed us. I asked if we could take a picture together, but he firmly declined.

There were different entrances for those with lunch included and those without (yellow badge). We, who had the lunch included, enjoyed unlimited welcome coffee (hot) and cold water on the first floor. While seated, a vendor came around selling paid juices, but about half of the guests did not order any. After an explanation in English and a brief one in Japanese, we set sail around noon. During the explanation, seasickness medication was offered for free to those who wanted it. It was mentioned that the lunch buffet would start around 12:30, followed by activities like lei-making and hula dancing on the same floor.

After that, we had free time and went to the observation area on the third or fourth floor. There were several summer beds on the fourth floor where you could lie down. We searched for whales at the front of the fourth floor. However, it wasn't easy to spot them, and before we knew it, it was already 12:30... At that moment, an announcement came over the speaker: "A whale has appeared at 3 o'clock!" The whale spouted water into the air, and the ship erupted in cheers! When the dorsal fin became visible, there was another round of applause, and finally, when the tail fin was seen, there was yet another cheer.

It was past 12:30, and lunch had started on the first floor, but since the whale continued to appear, we decided to postpone lunch and keep watching. After about 20 minutes, we moved to the first floor and had lunch while still watching the same whale. Our seats had been assigned beforehand, and we could see the whale from our seats. Later, an announcement said, "Unfortunately, we must say goodbye to this whale as 30 minutes have passed." We were able to enjoy watching for a full 30 minutes, and our family was very satisfied.

After that, lei-making, hula dancing, and ukulele classes began. After lunch, those without lunch also entered the first-floor area, but I’m not sure if similar classes were held on the second floor. However, someone who came in said, "It's cool in here!" so the area where those without lunch were might have been hot. Additionally, we participated in lei-making during the latter part of lunch.

2010.3.26　家族５人（私、妻、長男；14歳、長女12歳、次男9歳）で参加しました。ランチ付き・送迎なしのツアーです。ワイキキからはザ・バスに乗ってアロハタワーまで行きました。チェックイン時、胸に張るシール（緑色）をもらい、船の入口に行くと船長さんらしき格好良い方がお出迎えしてくれました。そこで、写真を一緒に撮って欲しいとお願いしましたが、きっぱりと断られました。乗船はランチ付きとランチ無しコース（黄色いワッペン）で入口が異なりました。私たちランチ付きコースの人は１階でウエルカムコーヒー（ホット）と冷水が飲み放題でした。座っていると有料のジュースを売りに来ましたが半分くらいの方は頼んでいませんでした。英語の説明と日本語の簡単な説明のあと、１２時頃、出航しました。説明の際、酔い止めの薬（？）が無料で希望者に配られました。説明では１２時３０分頃からランチバイキングが始まり、その後、同じフロアーでレイ作りやフラダンスの催しが行われると言ってました。そして、自由行動となり、３階もしくは４階の展望コーナーへ行きました。４階には寝そべることができるサマーベットも数台ありました。私たちは４階の先頭で鯨を探しました。とはいえ、そう簡単に見つかるわけもなく、あっという間に１２時３０分・・・・。そのとき、放送で「３時の方向に鯨が出現！」。鯨は上空に潮を吹き、船上は大喝采！。そして背びれが見えると、また大喝采！、そして最後に尾ひれが見え、再度、大喝采がおきました。１２時３０分を過ぎており、１階ではランチが始まっていましたが、鯨が継続して現れるので家族でランチを後回しにしてずっと見てました。２０分ほど見た後、１階に移動し、ランチを食べながら同じ鯨を見ました。席は始めに決められており、席からも鯨を見ることが出来ました。その後、放送で「３０分が経過したため残念ですがこの鯨とお別れです。」という放送が流れました。３０分、たっぷり鑑賞でき、家族一同、大満足でした。その後、レイ作りやフラダンス、ウクレレ教室が始まりました。ランチ終了後、ランチ無しの方々も１階のフロアーに入ってきましたが、２階でも同様な教室が開けれていたのかどうかはわかりません。しかし、入ってきた方が、「ここは涼しい！」って言っていたのでランチなしの方が居るフロアは暑かったのかもしれません。また、私たちはランチ後半からレイ作りな

I definitely want to participate again! The boat was fast and it was so much fun. The staff really helped to create a lively atmosphere. The moment I saw a dolphin's fin right in front of me was just moving. From what I gather from blogs and such, it seems like it wasn't a "too wonderful situation," but it was still very touching. The turtles also made an appearance. The blue sea, the coastline, and the sun were just breathtaking. My mother, who can't swim, was with us and she was quite happy. (Although it seemed she struggled a bit after jumping into the sea and drinking a lot of seawater, she didn't say she wouldn't go again; instead, she renewed her determination to go again!) It was that refreshing. You can enjoy colorful fish up close while snorkeling, feeling like you're swimming in an aquarium. I highly recommend it for families with children. While wind protection is necessary on the boat, our family had a great time without needing to rent wetsuits.

また絶対に参加したいと思います!!

スタッフももちろん盛り上げてくれました。
目の前にイルカのヒレが見えた瞬間なんて、もう、感動です。ブログ等から察するに、「素晴らしすぎる状況」ではなかったように思いますが、十分感動します。

あの蒼い海と海岸線と太陽でもう、やられます。
泳げない母も一緒でしたが、かなり喜んでました。
（海へ飛び込んだ際に海水をずいぶん飲んで苦しんだようでしたが、二度と行かない、と言わないばかりか、また行く!!の決意を新たにしていました）
それほどにリフレッシュさせてくれます。
シュノーケリングでも色鮮やかなサカナを間近に堪能できます。水族館を泳いでいる気分になれるくらいです。
子どもさんのいるファミリーにはかなりオススメです。
ボートの上での風対策は必要ですが、私たち家族はウェットスーツを借りることも無く楽しめました。

I think children in upper elementary school and above can enjoy various activities. Interacting with dolphins is something you don't often find elsewhere! I expected it to be larger in scale, but there are so many attractions that you still need more than half a day to see everything properly.

小学校高学年以上ならいろいろ楽しめると思います。イルカと触れ合うなんて他ではなかなかなさそうですよ＾＾
規模的にはもっと大きいところかと予想していましたが、ちゃんと見るにはそれでも半日以上必要なほど見所一杯です。

Diving to the real seabed in a submarine... There are no particularly dangerous aspects or training required, so it's safe for families with small children to participate. On the ferry to the dive point, we even encountered dolphins, which was a nice surprise. The view on the water is great too! 😊

特に危険なことも、トレーニングもありませんので、小さな子供連れでも安心して参加できます。ダイブポイントまでの連絡船では偶然とはいえイルカ達にも遭遇しました。洋上の景色もグーですね＾＾

This time, it was a trial with my 14-year-old daughter, 9-year-old son, and dad. The mom, who loves dolphins more than anyone, decided to focus on taking photos. However, I later found out that all the photos and videos were taken by the park staff from the best positions, so it was fine for everyone in the family to participate without anyone having to focus on filming. Mom was fired up for a "rematch next time!"

Just making eye contact with the dolphin NANI felt healing.

My 9-year-old son was surprised by the mischievous NANI, but he was overjoyed to be able to swim with it on his stomach.

(However, after my son, the dad surprised the dolphin by trying to ride it after the boy, causing it to stop. But after regaining its composure, it properly let him ride and swim.)

It's definitely something that everyone can enjoy with family and friends, so put down the camera and let's try!

今回は、１４歳の長女と９歳の長男とパパがトライ。
誰よりもイルカ好きのママは、撮影班に専念することに。
でも、後で判ったことだけど、写真もビデオも全て、ベストポジションからパークのスタッフが撮ってくれているので、誰かが撮影に専念しなくとも、家族全員でのトライでも大丈夫。
ママは「次回こそは!」とリベンジに燃えていました。

イルカのNANIの目が合うだけで、心が癒される感じ。

９歳の長男も、いたずら好きのNANIに驚かされたけど、お腹に乗せて泳いでもらって大喜び。

(でも、長男の後のパパには、男の子の後に「大きなおじさん」を乗せるのに、イルカも驚いて止まってしまったけれど。気を取り直して、ちゃんと乗せて泳いでくれました。)

是非、家族や友達と全員で楽しめるので、カメラを置いて、Let's Try!です。

I had heard that you can't see them up close on Oahu, so I didn't have high expectations, but I was able to see breaching at very close range!!

At first, I only saw a little bit of spouting and the back of the whale, but suddenly there was a big jump right next to the boat! It was like a scene from a TV show happening right in front of me, and the other guests were also very excited, cheering and clapping.

Even the staff who are on board every day said it's a rare occurrence to see it once every week or two, so I felt really lucky.

Of course, the whale watching was amazing, but the lunch buffet had everything from salads to meat, fruits, and desserts. We also enjoyed hula and ukulele lessons, and a cruise with a view of Waikiki and Diamond Head all at once. I think it’s a very worthwhile tour.

The announcements were in both English and Japanese, and all the staff were friendly, which made me very satisfied!

I definitely want to participate again! ♪

オアフ島ではそれほど近くでは見れないと聞いていたので、
あまり期待してませんでしたが、
至近距離でのブリーチングが見れました！！

最初は潮吹きや背中がちらっと見えたりする程度でしたが、
突然船のすぐ横で大きなジャンプ！
テレビで見るようなシーンが目の前で起こって、
他のお客さんたちも大興奮、拍手喝さいで盛り上がりました。

毎日乗船しているスタッフの人でも
1，2週間に1度見れるか見れないかの珍しいことだそうで、
すごくラッキーでした。

ホエールウォッチングはもちろん、
サラダからお肉、フルーツやデザートまでそろったランチビュッフェ、
フラやウクレレ、レイメイキングのレッスン、
ワイキキやダイヤモンドヘッドが一望できるクルージングがいっぺんに楽しめて
とってもお得なツアーだと思います。

アナウンスも英語と日本語の両方であったし、
スタッフの人たちもみんなフレンドリーで、大満足！

According to the Maui Tourism Board's website, the tour was estimated to take about 4 hours, which made my wife and daughter hesitant due to concerns about seasickness. However, since the tour guides mentioned it would only take 2 hours, we decided to join the Lahaina cruise. In the end, I think 2 hours was just right. Thanks to the season at the end of March, we spotted whales about 15 minutes after departure and were able to see around 20 whales in total, including a mother and calf that we observed closely for about 30 minutes. (Most were just visible in the distance, but I believe the situation wouldn't change much even if the duration were longer.)

I actually intended to bring binoculars but forgot them. Interestingly, neither the crew nor any participants had them either. I thought that since visibility would be limited while searching, there might not be many opportunities to use them.

The boat we were on was a stable catamaran, and while it felt stable when moving, when the engine was turned off to observe the whales, the small width of the boat made it susceptible to rolling waves, which could cause side-to-side motion. If you're prone to seasickness, it might be wise to take some medication beforehand (my wife said she was glad she did).

Additionally, parking in Lahaina can be challenging, so if you're participating by rental car, I recommend arriving early in the morning or a bit ahead of time (there were plenty of parking spots if you moved a little away from the bay).

マウイ観光局のＨＰをみると４Ｈ程度となっていたため、船酔いを気にする妻と娘はしぶっていたが、観光ガイドなどでは２Ｈのツアーとなっていたこともあり、ラハイナクルーズに参加することにした。結果、２Ｈで十分だったと思う。3月末のシーズンのおかげか、出航して15分程度でクジラを確認することが出来、ひと組の親子クジラをじっくり見た30分程度含めて都合20匹くらいは確認出来た。（ほとんどが遠くの海上にいるのが確認できる程度だが、時間が長くても、たいして状況は変わらないと思う）
実は、双眼鏡を持っていこうと思いながら忘れてしまったのだが、クルーを始め、参加者も誰も持っていなかった。探す際に視界が狭くなるのは邪魔なので、あまり活躍するタイミングはないかもしれないと思った。
また、乗った船は、揺れに強い双胴船だったが、確かに、
自走しているときは安定感強いが、クジラを観察するために、エンジンを切っている際には、横幅小さい船だと上下になる波の揺れが、左右の揺れになるので、左右の揺れに弱い人は酔い止めの薬を飲んでおいたほうがよいかもしれない。（妻は飲んで良かったと言っていた）
あと、ラハイナは駐車スペースに難があるので、レンタカーで参加される方は早朝or早めの到着（湾からちょっと離れれば止める場所はいくらでもあった）を心がけるとよいと思います。
