I participated on April 17, 2013. The weather was great, and I was able to swim with over 100 dolphins! I also saw about two sea turtles, and to my surprise, I was able to see a whale from the boat, which I thought was out of season. I felt like I had been saving my luck for this moment since I hadn't been very lucky lately.

One group probably had around 20 to 30 dolphins, and I went into the water three times, encountering them twice. I swam with four or five groups, so there might have been around 150 dolphins in total. It was just so lucky.

Our guide, Minako, was very clear in her explanations and had a bright personality, which was wonderful. I forgot the name, but Captain Papa? also took us accurately to the points, and during the whale watching, he kindly waited on the spot from when we dove until we surfaced.

My mother, who was with me, decided to stay on the boat at one point, saying, "I don't want to go in the water anymore today," but Minako frequently encouraged her not to push herself, so she was able to rest without hesitation. Since it was a tour with many entries, quite a few people chose to rest on the boat during the second session (snorkeling at the tropical fish and sea turtle points).

Even though the weather was nice, we had been snorkeling for quite a while, so it got quite cold, and the warm tea we received on the boat was much appreciated. The snacks were also quite delicious. I devoured a cinnamon pastry and cheese. I was a bit concerned about the calories in the cereal bar, so I took it home.

I really had a great time. I definitely want to take my husband, who stayed home this time, with me next time.

ウミガメも2頭ほど見ることができ、おまけに時期が終わったかと思われたクジラも船の上から見ることができました。最近何かとツイていなかったので、「このために運をとっていたのか？」と思うほどでした。

ひとつの群れがたぶん2,30頭で、3回海に入って2回遭遇、4、5グループと一緒に泳ぐことができたので、もしかすると150頭くらいかもです。とにかくラッキーでした。

ガイドのミナコさんの説明はわかりやすく、明るい人柄でとても良かったです。お名前を忘れてしまったのですが、キャプテンパパ？もポイントまで的確に連れて行って下さり、ホエールの時も潜ってから浮き上がるまでその場で待機してくださるなど、親切でした。

同行の母が途中、「ちょっと今日はもう水に入りたくない」と船上に残っていたのですが、無理しないで～とミナコさんが頻繁におっしゃってくださっていたので、遠慮せず休むことができました。エントリー回数の多いツアーだったので、2時限目（熱帯魚やウミガメのポイントでのシュノーケル）はさすがに船上でお休みされる方が多かったです。

良いお天気と言えども、結構な時間シュノーケルしていたので冷えてしまい、船上でいただいた温かいお茶はありがたかったです。スナックも結構おいしかったです。シナモン系の菓子パンとチーズぺろりと食べてしまいました。シリアルバーはさすがにカロリーが気になって持ち帰りました。

本当に楽しかったです。
今度はお留守番してもらった夫もぜひ連れて行きたいと思いました。

This is my sixth time in Hawaii! I've wanted to join this tour for a while, and I finally participated this time.

Once we arrived at the port, we put on our wetsuits and immediately boarded the boat. The water temperature is low during this season, and the boat is fast, so being exposed to the wind the whole time was quite cold. Renting a wetsuit for $10 was definitely the right choice. By the way, everyone in the group rented one (laughs).

We set sail and searched for about two hours. Ultimately, we headed north up to just before the North Shore, but there was no sign of dolphins, and everyone was getting tired.

At that moment, we encountered a whale! It's rare to see one at this time of year. Everyone was thrilled by this unexpected encounter.

So, what about the dolphins? We received information from another boat that they were near the port! It was a case of "right under the lighthouse." We quickly headed south and managed to meet the dolphins. Depending on the day, there can be hundreds of them, but there were only a few on this day. However, I was really glad to see them clearly with my own eyes and to swim close to them.

After that, we moved to a snorkeling point and got to swim with about five sea turtles. They came close enough to touch.

The staff's energy was incredibly high throughout, so if you're not a fan of that kind of lively student-like atmosphere, it might be a bit overwhelming. Also, it's quite intense, so I don't think it's suitable for those who lack physical stamina or for older individuals. It really drains your energy.

I wonder if it varies by day? I've heard there are days when they can be found easily, which might make it easier. We had quite a struggle finding them. When we finally spotted them, it was like "Let's go!" and everyone jumped in at once (there were also people from other companies), so it got crowded, and I ended up getting kicked by someone’s fin.

But it all became a great memory.

港についたら、ウェットスーツを着用しすぐに船に乗り込みます。

そんな時に、クジラに遭遇！この時期にいるのは珍しいとのこと。
思わぬ出会いにみんな喜んでいました。

で、イルカ先生は？仲間の船から、港の近くにいるとの情報が！灯台下暗しですかね。
いっきに南下し、なんとかイルカ先生に会うことができました。
日によっては何百匹といるそうですが、この日は数頭でした。
しかしこの目でハッキリと見ることができたし、近くで泳ぐことができて本当に
良かったです。

その後はシュノーケルポイントに移動して、亀大教授と泳ぐこともできました。
５匹くらいいましたよ。触れるくらい近くまで来てくれました。

スタッフのテンションが終始バカ高いので、そういう学生ノリの賑やかなのが苦手な方は苦痛かも？
しかも結構なスパルタなので、体力に自信のない方、高齢の方には向いてないと思います。ものすごく体力を消耗します。

日によるのかな？？すぐに見つかる日もあるらしいから、そういう日は楽チンなのかも。私達はなかなか見つからず苦労しましたからね。
みつかった瞬間、それいけーーーーって感じで、みんなが一斉に飛び込み（他の会社の連中もいるから）混みあっていて、前の人のフィンで蹴られる始末です。

でも全部がいい想い出になりました。

I also do diving, but it's hard to get close to them in the ocean.

This was awesome!!! We not only saw dolphins but we saw humpback whales at the end of their migration. They also took us to a reef where we snorkeled with a sea turtle and saw tons of tropical fish. The girls on the boat crew were awesome. Highly educated about the ocean environment and the sea creatures. This was definitely one of the highlights of our Hawaii vacation. Don't miss this activity. Especially if you can do it during the whale migration season. Also, Domingo, our shuttle driver that picked us up from the hotel was a great tour guide as well.

The guides were knowledgable and friendly. They were attentive to the needs and comfort of the passengers. My 8 yr old grandson was given the cushioned seat in the center (also the safest) and they even provided a life jacket. We saw a Humpback family group that breached numerous times. It was great! The disclaimer says it is not for those with mobility issues or bad backs, etc - believe them! Seating is on the side pontoons and would definitely be very uncomfortable for someone like my husband, who has 2 hip replacements (he did not go with us). I definitely recommend this activity!

We went with 4 kids, 2 grandmas and an aunt- hoping to see whales. What we had was a humorous and informative host, as well, amazing videos and pictures of a full 90 min whale adventure. The captain took us to a few spots, but we were lucky enough to see everything from tail splashing, diving under our boat, fin waving and blow hole splashing. We all had a great time!

Fortunately, the weather was nice (though the wind was really strong), and we were able to see a few whales. However, it was indeed difficult to capture them with my iPhone. In the photos, they appear distant, but in reality, they were a bit closer. Filming was also challenging because it was hard to predict where the whales would appear. I missed several opportunities to actually see them because I was so focused on filming. At first, there were announcements indicating the direction to look, but by the time we were heading back, there were no announcements. Just before we arrived, we spotted a whale near the shore, but it's unclear how many people noticed it. There were free activities like lei-making and ukulele lessons on the first floor of the boat, so most people participated. My sister and I didn't join and were on the second or third floor, just gazing out at the sea. I think it was mentioned that the Star of Honolulu tends to sway, but I didn't get seasick. Since the meal wasn't included, we freely ate what we had bought at the supermarket. To be honest, I wished I could have seen more whales jumping out of the water. Lastly, I believe the shuttle service would have cost an extra $12, so we took The Bus number 19 to the event location. On the way back, there was a bus stop very close by, so we were able to return smoothly. (The return bus also had signs indicating stops at Ala Moana Center and Waikiki Beach.)

幸い天気にも恵まれ（風は凄く強かったが）クジラも少しみれた。ただiPhoneで撮影するのはやはり難しい。写真で見ると離れて見えるが実際はもう少し距離が近かった。ビデオ撮影もどこから出現してくるかわからないので、撮影が厳しかった。また撮影に夢中で実際に目でみる機会を何度か失ってしまった。始めのうちはアナウンスで何時の方向に見えると教えてくれるが、帰る頃はアナウンスがない。到着間際に岸の近くにクジラを発見した。ただ気づいた人がどれだけいるかは不明。無料でレイ作りやウクレレなど船の1Fで開催していたので、大抵の人たちが参加していた。私たち姉妹は参加せず2Fだったか3Fだったか?!にいて、海をぼーっと眺めていた。スターオブホノルル号は揺れやすいと掲載されていた気がするが、船酔いもしなかった。食事付きでなかったので、スーパーで買って来た物を自由に食べていた。欲を言えばもっとクジラが海の上に飛び跳ねてる姿を見たかったのが本音です。最後に送迎付きだとプラス$12くらいするはずだったので、ザ・バスの19番に乗って開催場所まで行った。帰りもすぐ近くにバス亭があるので、スムーズに帰れた。（帰りのバスもアラモアナセンターやワイキキビーチ行きとバスに表示が出ていたはず）

They pick you up at your hotel and drive you to the west side. They gear you up, they advise you not to touch or chase. You get on the water and if you're lucky, like us, you spot a pair of hump back whales. Then when they locate the dolphin herd, you get to swim among them for about an hour. Then you get to spend almost as much time over a reef, where you can swim with sea turtles and other fish. It was just terrific.

Then you get a decent sandwich and a drink, because you will be hungry after a full morning. Then they drive you back to Waikiki.

Excellent photo disk available to chronicle your trip, at a good price, if you wish. 400 photos of your trip + bonus file with great pics of dolphins, whales, and the area.

Only negative was no changing facility, public restrooms only. Also no bathroom on the boat so be prepared.

Definitely worth the price for this experience.

I was constantly excited to be so close to wild animals.
I got to see dolphins, of course, as well as sea turtles and whales.
From the exotic boat, I watched dolphins and chased after escaping sea turtles, haha.
Thanks to the captain's arrangements, or perhaps his keen eye, we spotted a whale and even saw it spouting water.
It's an experience unique to traveling abroad that you won't understand until you try it.
I also think the cost performance is quite good.

The distance to the dolphins was far, and the snorkeling experience to see the dolphins was quite short, lasting less than 10 minutes, which was disappointing. The staff members were very kind.

Overall, this place is mainly about interacting with dolphins. It is well thought out, and if you love dolphins, I think you'll be very satisfied. The scale as a marine theme park is not very large, so you might find yourself with some free time before the bus departs. If possible, visiting by rental car might help you make better use of your time.

You can't bring cameras into the dolphin interaction pool, so you'll need to purchase photos and videos, but they take beautiful pictures, making the seemingly high cost of the photos feel worthwhile. However, it is still expensive.

However, the underwater scenery from the submarine wasn't as impressive as I had hoped. The staff were all friendly and pleasant. After the tour, I was informed that there was a free shuttle to Ala Moana, which I decided to use, but it came with the condition of visiting a coral jewelry store... If you're interested in coral jewelry, it might be worth it, but if you're not, it's better not to take it to avoid wasting time.

On March 29, 2013, I went with my family of three (10-year-old boy). We were able to see quite a few spouts here and there and encountered more whales than we expected. Thanks to the captain searching for various spots, we were able to see them frequently, which was moving. Of course, we were also able to take pictures of tails and jumps. I brought my EOS Kiss X6i with a 135mm lens, but for more impactful photos, a 300mm lens might be better.

It was quite windy on the water, making it very cold, so a jacket is essential. The boat also swayed a lot, so preparation and readiness are necessary. However, my wife, who usually gets seasick, was able to enjoy the tour without any issues. We drove directly to the meeting point (Lahaina Dock) with a rental car. There is free street parking for up to three hours, but considering our plans to explore Lahaina afterward, we parked in a public lot ($16 for 2-6 hours). Since it was an early morning plan, both options were available, but it might be difficult to find parking nearby if you go later in the day.

キャプテンが色々とスポットを探してくれたせいか、ポンポン見れる感じで、感動しました。

EOS-KissX6i+135mmのセットを持っていきましたが、迫力ある写真を撮ろうとすると300mmくらいあったほうが良いかもしれません。
海上は風があって、かなり寒いので、上着が必須なのと、かなり船が揺れるため、準備と覚悟が必要です。ただし、船に弱い妻も、船酔いすることなくツアーを楽しむことができました。
我が家はレンタカーで直接集合場所（ラハイナドック）に行きました。
３時間まで無料の路上Pもありますが、その後のラハイナ散策も考慮して公共Pに車を駐車しました。（2-6Hで$16）早朝プランだったので、どちらも空いていましたが、遅い時間だと近場に駐車スペースを見つけるのに苦労するかもしれません。

It was very good. We used the shuttle from Aulani on February 27 with four children and three adults. We had a lot of fun. I recommend it. There were only two Japanese families, and the rest were foreigners. The instructor's English had a thick accent (Yankee-style speaking), making it difficult to understand. I could only grasp about half of the meaning. Still, it was not a problem. We snorkeled for about 30 minutes to an hour off the coast of Waikiki. Since we had elementary school children with us, we brought life jackets, snorkels, masks, fins, and marine shoes from Japan. We encountered fish and turtles (honu). Bringing a waterproof camera is the best.

We departed in the morning, and the weather was cloudy with occasional sunshine, so it was cold on the boat after snorkeling. Especially with wet swimsuits and rash guards, it was chilly. It's essential to bring a thick bath towel from the hotel. Foreigners seem fine being naked, though.

After that, we went sailing towards Kahala. It was nice to see the Waikiki Beach hotel group from a different angle offshore. The group photo taken at departure was about $15, roughly the size of B5. It turned out quite nicely. This tour might be a bit tough for children under kindergarten age.

In summary: It's impossible for toddlers to be in the sea without being able to touch the bottom, just with a Styrofoam stick! Life jackets are essential. Bring a bath towel for warmth. And it costs $15.

出発時に撮ったグループ写真が確か１５＄。Ｂ５くらいの大きさ。　なかなかきれいに撮れてましたよ。幼稚園児以下はこのツアーは少々きついかも。
総括：足の届かない海に発砲スチロールの棒だけで幼児は無理！ライフベストが必須です。

We participated as a couple during the New Year holidays. Having joined various tours on overseas trips and met Japanese staff, I can say that the female staff here were incredibly attentive and made everything feel perfect, resulting in a very enjoyable tour.

When the sea turtles were not surfacing and I was feeling cold and ready to give up and head back to the boat, one of the staff encouraged me to wait a little longer, assuring me that I would definitely see them. Thanks to that, within 20 seconds, the long-awaited sea turtle swam right in front of me.

Did you see it? You saw it, right? They celebrated with me.

Additionally, although there were mostly foreigners and only about ten Japanese guests, during lunch, they arranged for us to be in the best position and at the best timing, allowing us to be first in line and enjoy our meal.

I truly appreciate all the help we received.

見た？見れたね？一緒に喜んでくれました。

それに外人だらけで日本人の客は10人弱だったけれど、ランチの時はベストポジション＆ベストタイミングで並ばせてくれて、お陰様で1番で並び、食べる事が出来ました。

本当にお世話になりました。

The lunch was delicious, and the afternoon workshops, including ukulele, hula, and lei-making, were fun and enjoyed by everyone.

At the end, they asked if there were any birthday celebrants or newlyweds, and when the honeymooners gathered in front, they sang Hawaiian songs with a guitar, creating a wonderful time for everyone to celebrate.

Since it's close to the hotel, we chose to depart from Ka'anapali Beach. I was wondering where to board since there wasn't a pier, but you actually get on the boat from the beach. It feels a bit like a fun attraction, which is enjoyable. I sat in a hammock seat, so it felt different from usual, and there were some people lounging around.

You might be able to see whales up close depending on luck, so it can vary each time, but I recommend it for those visiting during this season!

Also, please be cautious as there are places where you might get wet.

My family is in town visiting so we decided to take a trip to North Shore for the day and found an awesome whale watch tour to partake in! Once we left the harbor we saw a few whales breaching out in the distance, but unfortunately we were not going out that far.

We stayed in about a mile or two offshore and let the whales come to us, and we saw quite a few up close. While none were jumping or dancing too close, there were a lot out that day and we could see some on all sides of the boat enjoying the sunshine, like us! All in all, a great day and a fun time on a beautiful boat, the perfect way to show visitors the aloha spirit.

We went as a family. We decided to go because we could interact with dolphins, and it was a wonderful experience. We departed from a certain hotel’s meeting point, and it was easy to find the designated bus. However, the information on the bus was mostly in English, so it might be a bit challenging for those who are not comfortable with the language. Once we arrived at the site, there were staff members who spoke Japanese, so you can feel at ease. The pool was deeper than I expected, and although we wore life jackets, younger children from kindergarten to early elementary school may not be able to touch the bottom, so they need to be supported by an adult. The instructor provided very thorough explanations in mostly English. They let us interact with the dolphins, and it was a lot of fun. The kids were thrilled. I definitely want to go again.
