I was so impressed. Right off the plane was a girl holding a sign with our names and put our leis on us. They were beautiful. The girl was wonderful. She was genuinely friendly with a huge smile and welcome for us. She then walked us to baggage claim and told us where we were to meet the rental car shuttle. She even took our picture with our camera. This is the Hawaiian greeting I was hoping for but never expected!!! Thank you so much!!! My parents brought our kids a week later and I had the same lei greeting for them. They were pleasantly surprised. I will do this on all of our visits and highly recommend it to everyone!

Since we were staying at a condominium, we gathered in front of the nearest Hyatt Regency hotel and boarded the bus from four different locations, departing with almost a full load. We were the only two Japanese people, so we were instructed to sit in the front row. The explanations were primarily in English, but I could understand the gist from the Japanese notes.
After arriving at Paradise Cove, we had complete freedom after seating arrangements. Although the park is small, if you don't actively participate in the events, it can get boring. However, if you're not very proficient in English, you might find that art activities are often put off, which can be frustrating.
Regarding seating arrangements, generally, the upper class sits in the middle, while the standard class is assigned to the ends, with specific seats designated by bus number and last name.
I enjoyed three Mai Tai drinks from the welcome drink until the end, and they were very delicious. There was also a ceremony, and the rare Kahlua pig was tasty, while the poi was not good, but mixing it with lomi lomi salmon made it enjoyable.
The desserts, including cake, fruit, and coffee, were plentiful. During the showtime, the singer and host interacted with the audience, and there were many opportunities for guest participation, creating a lively atmosphere. Those celebrating a special occasion were invited to stand and be congratulated. There were also mood-setting dance times and audience participation, including Tahitian dance and Hula songs.
On the way back, the bus was waiting at the exit, but if you take your time and look around, you might be able to take photos with performers in Polynesian costumes. The group photo we took at the beginning was not in the exhibition area; the bus guide had it and was waiting for us.
I thought the content was a bit pricey, but if you want to experience an American-style atmosphere, I recommend it.

We attended this tour with our 3 children. Our driver was Garfield and he was the most informative driver we experienced on our whole trip...he gave us a running commentary on everything we were passing on our way to Pearl Harbour and he had a great sense of humour. He was so punctual with time and always ensured everyone knew what was going on all the time. I would rate this tour as the best one we went on while in Hawaii, I can't speak more highly of it. Our 9 year old left the day completely educated and informed about Pearl Habour. It was also great to go onboard the USS Missouri and see what life was like at sea and understand where the signing for the end of the war occurred. Overall we were extremely pleased with the tour.

On the second day in Hawaii, I had a reservation, but it was canceled due to bad weather in Hilo (tears). It was disappointing since Waikoloa had nice weather. Due to my schedule, the only available day was the checkout day, so I rescheduled it as that was my last chance. On the final day, while waiting nervously, I was told it was okay to go today.
For those with flexible schedules, I recommend making reservations as early as possible, and if the tour is canceled due to weather, it's good to have a backup date.
Now, the actual flight was amazing. Unfortunately, the volcano was in a state of calm, so I couldn't see the dynamic lava flows or ocean entry, but I could see lava from a hole in the ground! I also saw black streaks that made me think lava was flowing underground, which was both exciting and a bit scary. It was great to see the charm of Hawaii Island's green lava landscape from the sky. However, since it was an English tour, I didn't understand most of the explanations, but even without them, seeing the scenery in front of me was more than enough to enjoy.
I participated with my 4-year-old and 1-year-old, and the kids were satisfied too!

We first headed to Haleakala. There was a pleasant stop along the way for drinks and snacks. The views were spectacular and there was ample time to see the sites without being rushed. Judy, our tour director and driver, offered interesting facts and other information but appeared to be very bored and tired of the tour routine. She repeated the blurb about taking nothing but pictures about a gazillion times. Maybe it was just an off day for her. We headed to a very nice town for lunch. This was a pricey place, but the food was excellent and the service good. After lunch we headed to Iao and the rainforest inside. It was beautiful and once again we had ample time to see the sights without being rushed. At Iao we were switched to a different van that met us there and headed back home. All in all, a very pleasant day!

I participated with my parents and my three children. Although I can hardly speak English, I signed up as a memorable experience for my first trip abroad. When I requested a Japanese brochure, the bus guide named "Mark" was able to speak Japanese and provided us with attentive service, making our experience very enjoyable. He mentioned he was an elementary school teacher and took great care of the children, going above and beyond.
After arriving, there were events like tattoo painting, palm tree climbing, and beach net fishing, which we enjoyed with the kids. There were probably more people from the mainland United States, as everyone was very lively, and the atmosphere during the hula show was fun. The children also had a chance to dance, and all three of them went up on stage, creating wonderful memories.
We were the only Japanese family there, but it was a fun show that allowed us to feel the foreign culture.
The only issue was that the pickup bus was about 30 minutes late, which made me anxious, so I asked the hotel front desk to make a call for me. (I was worried about not being able to speak English in that situation.)
I would love to go again if I have the opportunity.

Before the luau show, we took a tram tour around the park, which featured various themed gardens and was quite spacious.
As for the food, I would say it was just average.
The main show included not only Hawaiian performances but also dances representing Polynesia, China, and Japan, which added a unique twist. However, for those who are repeat visitors to Hawaii and have seen other luau shows around Waikiki, it might feel a bit lacking. I was expecting Hawaiian and Tahitian hula, so I found it somewhat unsatisfying.
That said, the fire dance was definitely exciting, and if you're visiting Kauai, I think it's worth seeing this luau at least once. It's one of the few nighttime entertainment options in Kauai.
After the show, there are opportunities to take photos with the dancers, but I didn't have a chance to do that here. I ended up buying the photo they took when we entered for $20.

We departed from the Ko Olina area.
There is a shuttle bus in the Ko Olina area, so please check the pickup time with your hotel concierge.
If possible, it's nice to give a tip of about $1 to $2.
It's unclear whether there is a pickup from the tour company. When I asked the concierge, they seemed unsure...
It's a 5-6 minute walk from Aulani.
Since I wasn't sure about the shuttle bus time for the return trip, I returned with others heading in the same direction.
☆ The tour is conducted entirely in English.
There are American jokes, but I found them quite confusing;
If you're looking for a tour in Japanese, I recommend the Polynesian Cultural Center.
☆ For those who can't eat Hawaiian cuisine, the food might be challenging.
The haupia (coconut) jelly was delicious.
I was surprised by the size of the cucumbers in the salad and ended up joking with an American man at a nearby table about "glasses~~" (laughs).
He made me laugh even more...
☆ If you choose a more expensive course for the show, the view might be far and hard to see...
The staff will bring the food to you, but if you don't like not being able to choose your favorite dishes, I recommend the cheaper option.
☆ There are also guest participation shows.
Boyfriends, fathers, and husbands may get pulled up to participate in the show.
I wouldn't recommend it for shy people or those who might get angry. Please participate actively!
☆ The scenery is amazing.
Especially the sunset, which you can enjoy slowly since it's located on the western tip of Hawaii.
☆ Hawaiian experiences include tattooing (non-permanent), crown making, and lei making.
You can participate even if you don't understand the language, but if you take it easy, the next event will start in no time.
☆ Drinks
I got a bit flustered and ended up with one extra ticket;
There are both cocktails and non-alcoholic cocktails.
The preparation is quite casual, so don't worry too much about it.
The alcohol is strong, so you might get quite tipsy...
☆ Photos
They are available for a fee, but how about getting one as a keepsake?
* $15 per photo.
Since various people participate, if you can actively engage, you can overcome the language barrier.

Although it was the main highlight of my trip that I was looking forward to, unfortunately, it rained heavily.
Usually, there is a performance where King Kamehameha arrives by boat, followed by a dinner show under the starry sky, but it was suddenly changed to an indoor show.
We had to wait about an hour in the hotel lobby for the setup, but during that time, the MC kept us entertained with jokes and ukulele performances. Chatting with other foreign tourists also became a nice memory.
We moved to a banquet-like area inside the hotel for the show to begin. The performances of singing and dancing, along with audience participation during the cha-cha dance time, were wonderfully entertaining, and I was very satisfied.
The food featured traditional Hawaiian dishes as the main course. It was quite filling, and while tastes may vary, I enjoyed it very much.
We also had plenty of fun with participatory activities like hula lessons, but the hotel hallway felt a bit cramped. I wished we could have done it outside under the sky on the grass. However, it was such a fulfilling show program that I definitely want to participate again on a day with better weather!
I clearly remember the words, "For those visiting Hawaii for the first time, welcome; for those returning, you are friends (aikane); and for those coming for the third time or more, you are all family (ohana)," which warmed my heart.

On this cruise to Ke'alakekua, not only was there a wonderful bartender, but also a fabulous array of appetizers and a yummy dinner. AND there was a historian, named Boyd, who was able to tell us the history of the areas we were cruising by. Kudos to Boyd!
