I had heard great things about Kualoa Ranch. I really wanted to explore it on horseback, but since my 7-year-old child couldn't due to age restrictions, we took turns driving a buggy while enjoying the ride with our child, and it was a lot of fun.

I have a Class A driver's license, but I'm not very experienced, and I had no problems driving at all. However, I noticed another group of Japanese tourists seemed to be lagging behind and eventually disappeared from view. Make sure to press the accelerator firmly.

I made a reservation about two months ago for three family members, and it cost just over 50,000 yen, but when I checked right before our visit, it had gone up to around 70,000 yen, so it's best to book early.

We received pink masks to wear around our necks and mouths.

I had a great time talking with the guides. The location descriptions were easy to understand, and even though it was in English, I was able to comprehend it using a translation app on my smartphone. The views were from places I had never seen before, so it was nice to discover new things in addition to familiar spots. The road was bumpy, so I had to be careful, but I enjoyed the downhill ride. The weather was also great, which made it perfect!

The guide was wonderful, and it was a fun 90 minutes. We started with explanations about nature and history, and I learned a lot about the views of the sea. Along the way, we enjoyed some ups and downs in the vehicle, and we also walked a bit to see some beautiful scenery, which made for a fulfilling experience.

Since the course started at 10 AM and the meeting time to return was at 1 PM, I had lunch, bought some souvenirs, and before I knew it, the time flew by. I'm glad I scheduled it for a time when I could still be active in the afternoon.

ガイドの方がとても素晴らしく楽しい90分でした。自然や、時代の説明から始まり、海に見える内容だとかも詳しく教えてもらえました。途中車でアップダウンわー楽しませてもらったり、少し歩いて景色の良い所に案内してもらったりと充実でした。
10時からのコースで、13時に帰路のための集合時間でしたので、持っていったランチして、お土産みたり、ぼーっとしていてらあっという間でした。
午後からも動ける時間帯にしたので良かったです。

Mahalo- First of all this tubing activity was a blast! Safety Equipment was provided-helmets w/lights and gloves - croc water shoes as well if you didn’t bring your own-
All crew members were fun, engaging and helpful.
The tubing experience was a comfortable leisurely ride with a few long rides through several dark tunnels (lights on the helmets made it perfect and added a bit more fun)
Lunch after was tasty, with a self-made sandwich ingredients.
My only negative was the picture taking results - if you are a couple or group make sure you are joined together or you’ll get other guests mixed in with your pictures.

My husband, adult daughter, and I had a spectacular time on this excursion. Our driver/guide/astronomy guru, Maka, was the lynch-pin of the whole experience. After seeing the beautiful sunset at the top, we scurried down to set up for our tour of the night sky. Maka has significant knowledge, a great sense of humor, and an amazing telescope! We all want a laser pointer now!! Fortunately, the three of us experienced only giddiness as an effect of the altitude…the three of us were silly and laughed so much. What a great memory! We had rented a Jeep for our week on the Big Island. Someone had suggested we were wasting our money going on a tour, rather than driving ourselves. But, though the tour was not inexpensive, it was worth every penny for the experience! Highly recommend!!

The buggy only reaches a speed of up to 20 kilometers, so even women won't have trouble driving it. It can accommodate up to 2 people per vehicle. Although it can hold up to 6 people, it's cramped, so 4 people would be comfortable. If you have more than 5 participants, I recommend making reservations for 2 groups.

While driving, the sand dust is intense, so your clothes will get covered in sand, and your face will be blackened! The scenery is magnificent and wonderful, and you can see the ocean as well.

The driving time is just under 2 hours, with stops at 4 to 5 recommended spots along the way, where you can switch drivers. It seems to be a super popular tour, but I was able to make a reservation just 4 days in advance.

The tour guide was kind, and even though I forgot my insect repellent spray, they lent me one. The path wasn't as muddy as I thought, so my shoes didn't get too dirty. We were also blessed with good weather. The lunch at Tantalus Lookout, along with the scenery and breeze, was perfect.

We booked a dream horseback riding experience for the family in Hawaii. The reservation process was easy and went smoothly, but getting there was quite a challenge! It took too long to rent a car in Waikiki, and just when we thought we were cutting it close, we followed the directions and found a closed gate along the way. Just when we were worried we couldn't get in, a kind local informed us that we needed to enter a code, and after a bit of confusion, we managed to resolve it with a phone call. The mountain roads were quite tricky, with many narrow spots.

Although the journey was tough, once we arrived, the friendly staff and the horseback riding while enjoying the breathtaking views made it an incredible experience. The 1.5-hour tour ended up being just over an hour, but since we were riding on rocky paths the whole time, my backside was a bit sore, which was probably just right.

After the ride, we even got to feed the adorable horses. The tour moves at a leisurely pace, so there are plenty of opportunities to take photos along the way.

道のりは大変だったが現地に着くとフレンドリーなスタッフの対応、絶景を眺めながらの乗馬は気持ちよく最高な体験になりました。1.5時間のツアーが1時間ちょいで終了したけど、岩道をずっと乗ってたのでお尻が痛くてちょうど良かったかな。(о´∀`о)
乗馬終了後は可愛いお馬さんに餌やり体験までさせてくれた。ゆっくり進むツアーなので途中に写真もたくさん撮れます。

The scenery was very beautiful, and I felt relaxed from start to finish. The instructor got off the buggy and explained the area thoroughly, but since everything was in English, I had some trouble understanding. However, they were very kind, taking lots of photos and chatting with us.

Even though the buggy couldn't go very fast, it was thrilling and quite bumpy! There was a part where we drove into what seemed like a pond, which was really exciting at the end! A lot of dust gets in your eyes, so it's better to wear goggles or glasses. Your clothes will also get quite dirty from the dust!

The weather was nice, with views of the ocean and waterfalls, and I enjoyed the increasingly long zip line while having a banana. I was worried about not being able to speak English, but they were very kind and made me feel at ease. I believe that even those who don't speak English can participate. The seventh zip line had a rainbow over the waterfall, which was amazing! Moreover, the landing spot was also interesting. He was a knowledgeable about so many things such as the local birds, plants and history of the area. Entering a lava tube that was hundreds of years old was interesting, and fun. Jon made sure our group remained safe and also had fun along the way. One has to experience this activity to really appreciate it! I would definitely recommend this activity.

I have visited the Big Island multiple times and had seen the starry sky from the slopes of Mauna Kea, so I thought there might not be anything particularly new. However, I was very moved by the sea of clouds and the sunset from the summit! I had no issues with altitude sickness, and even though I was lightly dressed in September, the warm clothing provided was more than enough. The warm cocoa was appreciated, and the sandwiches were very delicious as well. I was able to take many photos of the sunset and the starry sky, creating precious memories. The attached photo was taken with a compact digital camera that has a starry sky shooting mode that I brought along. I hope to participate in other tours again someday.

Compared to similar Japanese-speaking tours organized by other travel agencies, the price was significantly lower and felt very worthwhile. It had been a while since I went horseback riding, but the female guide accompanied us and explained various stories, answering our questions, which was great. My friends, who were riding for the first time, also enjoyed it without any issues.

Entering the falls can feel a bit dangerous due to the many rocks, but having shoes suitable for the ocean and a floatation device can provide peace of mind. I recommend this for those who want to see the waterfalls and nature of the Big Island.

Diamond Head Hike & Oahu Island Tour - North Shore, East Coast & Dole Plantation

JUST RIGHT!

My son and I had just a few days, and wanted to see as much as we could without wearing ourselves out. An early morning hike up Diamond Head, and a subsequent tour of the island seemed like a good option, and it was great! We had enough time to climb and enjoy the view from the top, and then the van ride was wonderful. We both felt like it was the perfect balance of riding time and stops around the island at well-chosen locations. We never felt rushed, and never got bored. Our guide, Stephanie, was very friendly and knowledgeable. It was a great day! BTW, the hike is not an easy stroll, but neither is it too strenuous. I'm 68, and didn't have a problem. If you're not in great shape, take the easier trail, and not the demanding stairs when you get to that point. But take the hike. It's worth it!
