It was a more serious hike than I expected. The ground was muddy from the rain, making it quite slippery, so I had to be careful and could only walk slowly. However, the guide walked at an incredibly fast pace, and I couldn't keep up, so I ended up walking towards the back. They were explaining things along the way, but I couldn't hear anything. I was looking forward to the explanations about Hawaii's nature, so it was disappointing. I also didn't really like the lunch, so I could hardly eat anything.

I participated with my family. The guide spoke only English, and the other participants were also Americans. It was good that the families who joined us could speak English, but I think it would be difficult for someone like me who is not good at English at all to participate alone. For example, during the hike, it would be tough if I couldn't understand warnings like "the rocks are loose, so be careful," or instructions on how to brake and turn while riding a bike. There is a consent form in Japanese, but it would be helpful if there were also a Japanese version of the safety instructions.

I participated in a 2-hour mountain bike course. I was very worried about the weather after arriving in Hawaii, but I was able to join the tour without getting rained on☆

There were three cheerful foreign tour conductors, a foreign couple, a solo foreign participant, a Japanese couple, and our group, making a total of about 15 people biking around the island. Since I wasn't used to riding at first, it was great that they provided ample practice time.

It felt like we were touring movie locations, as there were famous spots used in movies like Jurassic Park and Jumanji, which would definitely excite those familiar with the films! ^ ^

Once we went to a slightly elevated area, we were greeted with stunning views, and the surroundings were filled with nature, allowing us to feel the negative ions!

The tour conductors were very nice, possibly because our group was showing such great enthusiasm! Even if you don't understand English, communication is totally possible! They took a lot of photos for us and were very kind.

The hotel pickup started around 10 AM, and we returned to Waikiki before 4 PM, so we had a lot of fun! The kids in our group also praised it as the most enjoyable part of this trip☆

It's definitely best to wear clothes that you don't mind getting dirty and that are easy to move in! You might want to think that you will get dirty regardless of whether it rains or not. ^ ^

陽気な外人ツアーコンダクターが3人、外国人夫婦？とお一人様参加の外国人と、日本人夫婦と私たちグループで計15名ほどで島をマウンテンバイクで走るというものでした。
最初は乗りなれてないものなので、しっかり練習時間も設けてくれていたので良かったです。

映画のロケ地を巡る感じだったので、要所要所にジュラシックパークやジュマンジなどといった有名映画で使われた跡などもあり、映画をご存知の方であれば興奮度も増すのではないでしょうか？^ ^

少し小高い場所へ行ったらとても素晴らしい景色が溢れていたり、周りが本当に自然だらけでマイナスイオンを感じられます！

ツアーコンダクターの方も私たちのグループがとびきりいい反応を見せていたからか良くしてくれました！
英語が分からなくてもコミュニケーションは全然とれます！
写真もたくさん撮っていただいて優しかったです笑

朝10時ごろにホテルのピックアップが始まり、ワイキキに帰ってきたのも16時前とかだったので、だいぶ楽しめました！
一緒にいたグループの子たちも今回の旅で1番楽しかったと絶賛しています☆

服装は確かに汚れてもいい服、動きやすい服で行くのが1番です！
雨が降る降らないに関係なく汚れると思ったほうがいいかもですね^ ^

Wonderful family adventure. Tour guide on the bus was friendly and entertaining, and the guides were knowledgeable and courteous (they took great care of our five- and eight-year-old children in the tubes on the water so they felt safe and comfortable while my wife and older children could enjoy the adventure). Highly recommended. Kudos to the operators of this business.

Kualoa Ranch Zipline Tour & Jurassic Valley Adventure

This was my first time ziplining and I had a blast! Ka'a'awa Valley (Jurassic Valley) is one of my favorite places on Oahu and the ziplining tour is the best way to see it! Soaring over the trees with breathtaking views of the lush green valley was quite a thrill. All 7 of the lines had amazing views in every direction.

The guides were fun and helped to ease the minds of anyone who was nervous. You can tell they really enjoy their job and are passionate about Hawaii.

On the ride to and from the ziplining base camp at the back of the valley we passed by numerous filming locations. We saw Hurley's golf course from Lost, Godzilla's footprint, the Jurassic Park log, and many others. It was so cool getting to see where so many great movies and tv shows were filmed.

Skydiving itself was very enjoyable, and it provided a sense of freedom and accomplishment beyond my expectations.

I believe it was a partner company of Veltra, but the driver who picked us up at the Hyatt in the morning was Japanese and spoke English. He was very arrogant and had a commanding tone that didn't quite match the vibe of Hawaii.

When we arrived at the airport, I realized he was the only one at that company who could speak Japanese. It seemed like he was relied upon by many people, and since Japanese people tend to be quite reserved overseas, he seemed to be getting a bit carried away. I have studied abroad in America, so I can speak English, but others were in a situation where they could understand but not speak, so they seemed to listen to him unconditionally. He kept insisting that a tip was necessary for the return ride, which felt somewhat unpleasant.

Other than that, I had a lot of fun and think it was an interesting experience in my life. Thank you.

I participated in a 1-hour mountain bike tour! There were 8 of us in total, including 4 others from our group. Before the departure time, we had practice time, and even as someone who rode an electric bike for the first time, I got used to it quickly. The initial uphill was tiring, but after that, I enjoyed riding in the gentle nature. There was a participant whose chain came off, but they quickly fixed it. Since it was a 1-hour course, we had about 2 hours of waiting time until the return bus, which felt a bit long. The 1-hour course felt a bit short, so if I participate again, I would like to join the 2-hour course! 😊

Since it was horseback riding in the canyon, the horses didn't run, and although it was my first time riding, I was able to enjoy it thoroughly.

After gathering at Art Works, all participants took a 4WD down to the canyon. (This alone was quite impressive.) Once we reached the bottom, there was a quick explanation of the horses we would be paired with for the day, and then we started riding. When I participated, two staff members taught us how to hold the reins and operate the horse in English.

The riding time felt ample, and we progressed slowly while enjoying the views of the canyon.

2. Waterproof case to hang an action camera or smartphone around your neck
3. Sunscreen

Along the way, there were puddles and rivers, so I thought it would be good to spray waterproofing on my athletic shoes to prevent mud and water from splashing.

I participated in this activity in mid-February 2020. It seems that until the end of December 2019, access was restricted due to a local demonstration against new astronomical observation equipment, but on the day of my visit, I was fortunate to reach the summit.

Originally, I was considering renting a car to keep costs down, but ultimately, choosing this tour was the right decision. (Looking back, I think it would have been terrifying to drive on those mountain roads, and I probably would have suffered from altitude sickness.)

I was reading reviews, so I was able to listen to the explanations from the famous old man, which were hard to understand, while laughing. When he kept saying "massage," he was referring to the pressure from the dive that makes your body shake. I had requested a cameraman instead of the instructor for the photo shoot, but it ended up being the instructor's wrist instead, so we couldn't get photos from the cameraman. It was apparently -16°C when we took off, which was really cold. I couldn't breathe! They teach you how to breathe. I participated in February. There was a period when access was blocked, and I made a reservation because it was advertised as reopened. I understood that it wasn't the right time and that the weather could prevent us from seeing anything, but it was more disappointing than I expected. This is because important details were not adequately addressed in the tour description.

Guides should obviously know that during winter, access to the summit is almost impossible. On the day of the tour, I was told that last February, they could only reach the summit for three days. While it's understandable due to the season, I believe they should clearly state the probability of reaching the summit. Even if we could go up, the views advertised were not to be expected, and it was just about reaching the summit.

If they are charging nearly 20,000 yen, they should at least specify the probability, and when they tell you on the day that it's better to participate in summer because you can hardly climb in winter, it leaves a negative impression.

Summer might be enjoyable, but winter is not worth 20,000 yen. I'm also unsure about summer. 適した時期ではない事や天候次第で何も見られないことは承知していましたが、想像以上に期待はずれです。
というのも、ツアー詳細に大事なことがあまりに触れられていないからです。
冬場はほぼ山頂に行けないことは、ガイドなら当然知っています。当日も、去年の2月は3日しか山頂に行けなかったと。季節的には仕方ないにしても、それであれば、山頂まで登れる確率を明記するべきだと思います。また、登れたとしても、掲載されている景色は期待できず、登れただけ、ということです。
2万円近い代金を取るのであれば、確率くらいは明記して欲しく、当日に、冬場はほとんど登れないため、夏に参加する方が良いと言われると、ネガティブな印象しか残りません。

また星を見ながら天体の説明をしてくれますが、趣味で天体が好き、程度にも届かない内容だったので、早く帰りたくなりました。
参加してた別の方の方がよっぽど詳しかったです。
以上から、レンタカーでオニヅカまで行き楽しめば十分だったと後悔です。
纏めると、冬場と満月挟んだ前後は回避です。

This hike was wonderful! The waterfalls were so great! It was amazing to walk through all the different vegetation and see the gorgeous flowers and water falls. We had 2 guides that knew so much about the area and were very fun to hike with! We had a couple of asthmatics that did the hike as well so it is a great hike for everyone!

The atmosphere on the tour bus was not very good... The guy who picked us up was nice, but I couldn't hear any of his explanations at all; it was really hard to hear him. Yet, his attitude was quite big.

As a result, my first skydiving experience was nerve-wracking, but it was really amazing! The staff who jumped with us were so encouraging that I felt completely at ease! This feeling is something only those who have experienced skydiving can understand, so I hope everyone gets to see that view and try skydiving at least once! By the way, I already want to do it again!

Above all, witnessing the beautiful sunset was the most moving experience. I felt it would be a shame not to participate if you visit the Big Island. I saw some individuals driving up in rental cars, but I think it could be dangerous for those who are not used to traveling on rough roads. After sunset, the stargazing was incredible, with a sky full of stars, and the explanations of the constellations were easy to understand. They also took photos, creating wonderful memories. My husband and I had a wonderful experience with the Rainforest & Waterfall Swim Hike in Maui! We were able to experience it all: pretty tame trails, swimming in cool waters, and cliff diving from the falls. This adventure is appropriate for families (but I wouldn't take very young children), couples, or solos that desiring a peaceful hike.

Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and friendly the entire hike. He was also very accommodating (I had a shoulder injury at the time) and the hike was still very enjoyable!

There were plenty of times to rest, swim, and eat snacks. Our guide was attentive to our needs and provided other suggestions of what to check out/visit during our stay on the island. I highly recommend!

Pick up was right on time!
Our guide Matt was very knowledgeable and passionate about Hawaii island from legends to Hawaii original plants and animals. He kept entertaining us until his voice got hoarse! My favorite part of the tour was definitely the lava tube. it's really amazing!! The way to and from the lava tube is super bumpy and rough. If you get motion sickness, you should take medication for it. I brought kids (12 and 10) with us and they enjoyed themselves as well. Hiking was very mild so anyone can enjoy this tour, I think.

On February 10th, due to a winter storm, the observatory staff at Mauna Kea had to descend because of the bad weather. The Onizuka Center was also closed all day due to sub-zero temperatures. However, our guide Jin said, "Let's find a hole in the clouds and chase after it. Since it's like this, let's explore the super rare winter storm in Hawaii." Despite being hit by heavy downpours that felt like an automatic car wash, we were able to see the majestic slopes of Mauna Kea, the fantastical cinder cones, the rain clouds changing shape and flowing by, and the massive thunderclouds and lightning approaching from afar. In the car, there was a mood of acceptance that stargazing was impossible on such a day, but Jin was the only one who hadn’t given up. We stopped by a heiau near the harbor and discovered a sparkling starry sky through a gap in the thick rain clouds! We were overwhelmed by the brightness, number, and depth of the night sky. Before we could even take photos, the heavy rain returned in an instant. Such weather is unique to the Big Island, isn't it?

Although we couldn't make it to the summit of Mauna Kea, Jin skillfully listened to everyone's plans and generously shared information about points of interest. I had always wanted to climb Mauna Kea when I visited the Big Island, but I had given up because the summit had been closed since July. However, I heard that the road to the summit reopened in December, so I signed up for this tour.

At the beginning of the tour, I was informed that the summit was closed due to bad weather for three consecutive days, and I arrived at the 2800m Onizuka Visitor Center while praying. There, we took a break to acclimatize to the altitude while eating our lunch. When we got back in the car and the guide told us that the gate was open and we could go to the summit, there was a cheer in the vehicle.

The road to the summit was steep and off-road, and I thought it would be impossible to go there in a rental car. Thanks to the guide's skilled driving, we safely reached the top.

It was quite windy at the summit, and even with the snow gear we borrowed, it was freezing cold. However, the view from there was indescribably beautiful, and I was really glad to see it.

After descending, the guide explained stargazing to us. I was happy to see the starry sky, the full moon, and even a comet.

On the way back to the hotel, the guide told us that a moonbow had appeared and stopped the car. It disappeared in an instant, but I was lucky enough to see the elusive moonbow, making it an incredibly lucky day.

ツアーの最初に、3日連続で天候不良のため、山頂閉鎖されていると聞いて、祈りながら、2800mのオニズカビジターセンターに到着しました。そこで、お弁当を食べながら、高山病に慣れるための休憩をしました。再び、車に乗り込んだ時、ゲートがオープンしているので、山頂まで行けるとガイドさんが教えてくれた時、車内で歓声が上がりました。
山頂までは、オフロードの急な道で、とてもレンタカーで行くことは出来ないと思いました。ガイドさんの熟練の運転で無事頂上に着きました。
頂上はかなり風が強く、貸していただいたスノーウェアを着ても凍えるくらい寒かったです。しかし、そこから見える景色は言葉に出来ないくらい美しく、この景色を見れて本当に良かったと思いました。
一旦下ってからは、ガイドさんから天体観測を説明してくれます。満天の星や満月、そして彗星を見ることが出来て良かったです。
また、ホテルに帰る途中にはガイドさんからムーンボウが出たと教えてくれて、車を止めてくれました。あっという間に消えてしまいましたが、幻のムーンボウまで見ることが出来て、今日はすごくラッキーな一日でした。
もし、ハワイ島に行く予定がある方は、絶対にマウナケアのツアーに参加したほうがいいと思います。この旅で一番の思い出になりました。本当にありがとうございました！
