I was anxious about whether I would really encounter wild dolphins, but our guide Daisuke was already smiling and pointing to the sea in the car on the way to the port, saying, "I have a feeling they might be around here," which greatly increased my expectations.

Then, just after we set sail, without even having time to prepare myself, we were instructed to "get in!" and as soon as I entered the water, a lot of dolphins were swimming right in front of me. Among them was a small baby dolphin, and I learned it was about a week old, so it seems we encountered a very lucky pod.

My daughter was the youngest participant, so Daisuke stayed close to her, and thanks to that, dolphins came close, and she was thrilled to see them up close. It seemed like we hit the jackpot that day, as we saw the pod multiple times in the water, along with dolphins jumping and spinning, and others surfing on the waves; we were able to witness various scenes.

Additionally, Daisuke and the boat operator, Nawata, made a wonderful team, and it was impressive how they took care to ensure all participants enjoyed themselves on board. I plan to sign up for this tour again the next time I come to Hawaii. Thank you very much.

野生のイルカに本当に出会えるのか不安でしたが、ガイドのダイスケさんが港に向かう車中で既に「あの辺に居そうな気がする」と海を指しながらニコニコだったので、一気に期待が膨らみました。
そして、出港直後、心の準備をする間もなく「入って！」の指示で海に入るとたくさんのイルカが目の前を泳いでいました。その中に小さな赤ちゃんイルカもいたのですが、生後1週間くらいかな、というお話でとてもラッキーな群れに遭遇したようです。
娘は参加者の中で最年少だったのでダイスケさんが側にいてくれたのですが、おかげでイルカが近寄ってきてくれて至近距離で見たと喜んでいました。
この日は当たりだったようで、何度も何度も海中で群れを見せてもらいましたし、ジャンプして回転するイルカや波に乗ってサーフィンするイルカ、色んな場面を見ることができました。
また、ダイスケさんとボートの操縦士の縄田さんがとても素敵なコンビで、参加者全員が楽しめるようにボード上でも色々と気配りしてくださったのが印象的でした。
次にハワイに来る時もまたこちらのツアーに申し込むつもりです。ありがとうございました。

I was moved by both the sunset and the starry sky. I took many wonderful photos and showed them to people around me after returning home. It became a great memory for my family. I also want to thank our guide, Shin. He had a friendly conversation with my daughter, who initially wasn't very enthusiastic, but she seemed to enjoy herself. The miso soup we received was warm and comforting. I thought it might be expensive when I signed up, but it was definitely worth it. Thank you very much.

I encountered a lot of dolphins! The guide mentioned that it's rare to meet so many dolphins, so I was glad to dive at such a great time. It was my first time snorkeling, but I was able to swim without any issues. I'm grateful for this wonderful experience and the great memories made in Hawaii.

と言うくらい良いタイミングで潜れてよかったです。

The round-trip boat ride felt like rafting, which might be risky for those prone to seasickness, but my children actually enjoyed it like an attraction. Upon arrival at the point, we saw countless dolphins and watched baby dolphins jump multiple times. They even let us try snorkeling ahead of the pod's movement, which was very satisfying. My parents, around 70 years old, also enjoyed themselves while holding onto floats. The staff was very kind as well. Thank you very much.

往復のボートはラフティングような感じで、酔いやすい方は危険かもしれませんが、我が家の子供達はアトラクションのようで楽しいとむしろ喜んでいました。 ポイントに到着すると、数えきれないイルカのむれ、子供イルカのジャンプを何度も見られましたし、群れの移動を先回りしてシュノーケルのトライをしてくれて、大満足でした。70前後の両親も浮きにつかまりながら楽しんでいました。スタッフの方もとても親切でした。ありがとうございました。

We participated as a group of four, including three children. Our guide, Daisuke, had a wonderful love for dolphins. He was kind and funny, keeping everyone entertained during the drive to the port. His desire for everyone to see many dolphins was evident, and we indeed saw a lot.

Captain Hitomi was also fantastic, communicating the direction of the dolphins to everyone in the water and anticipating their movements to position the boat ahead. Her genuine intention to ensure everyone was satisfied was clear.

I'm really glad we participated.

　3人の子供の計4名で参加しました。ガイドのダイスケさん、イルカ愛が素晴らしかった。優しく、面白く、港に着くまでの車中も皆を楽しませてくれてました。沢山のイルカを皆に見てもらおうという気持ちが伝わりました。実際たくさん見れました。
　船長のヒトミさんがまた素晴らしく、船上からイルカのくる方向を海の中の皆へ伝えたり、イルカの方向を読んで船の先回りをしたり、商売っ気がなく、皆に満足して貰おうという気持ちがこれまた伝わってきました。

A fun guide and a cheerful captain took us by boat to see the dolphins. They predicted the dolphins' movements, and as soon as we spotted a pod, we jumped into the water. Even my 10-year-old was able to chase and swim around with the dolphins while snorkeling. We were allowed to swim freely, but if we stayed close to the guide, they would pull us right next to the dolphins. Of course, they always kept an eye on everyone's safety, allowing us to enjoy ourselves. It was so much fun to swim while predicting the dolphins' movements as they headed to the surface! Thank you!

楽しいガイドさんに、陽気な船長さんがボートでイルカのところまで連れて行ってくれます。イルカの動きを予測して、群れを見つけたら即海へ。10歳の子も十分シュノーケルでイルカを追っかけて泳ぎ回ってました。自由に泳がせてもらいながらも、ガイドさんの近くにいればほんとイルカのすぐ横まで引っ張ってってもらえます。もちろんみんなの安全も常に気を配ってくださって、自由に楽しめました。イルカが海面へ向かう動きを予測して泳ぐのはとっても楽しかった！ありがとうございました！

We were able to meet Manta Ray as soon as we entered the water. ~ I was surprised at the big size but it was a very enjoyable experience. I would like to enjoy Manta Ray by diving after winning the scuba diving certificate

This time, during our two-week stay, the only tour was this stargazing! I was really looking forward to it, but unfortunately, the sky was cloudy and the moon was out. We could see the large moon, but the stars we were hoping to see were much better viewed back in Japan. It was disappointing.

If you have flexibility in your schedule, it's better to consider the moon phase and the time the moon rises when making a reservation. We didn't think about it at all.

I'm really disappointed. However, we were able to see a beautiful sunset.

今回、2週間の滞在で、ツアーはこの星空観測のみ！
これだけは、と期待していたのですが、あいにく、曇り空、月も出ている。大きな月のカサは見えましたが、お目当ての星は、普通に日本で見た方が、ずっと良く見えました。残念でした。
日程に余裕があるなら、月齢、月の出る時間等も考えて、予約をした方が良いです。
私達は、全然考えていませんでした。
がっかりです。
但し、夕焼けは、キレイに見れました。

The coral is beautiful, and the sea is clear. It was fun, but even though it's August, the sea felt a bit cold for a morning swim. It might be better to participate wearing a wetsuit.

楽しかったですが、8月なのに、さすがモーニングのためちょっと海が寒く感じました。
ウェットスーツなどを着て参加の方が良いかもしれません。

I was thrilled to get up close to the manta rays! It was a lot of fun. I participated in August, and it wasn't cold at all. I highly recommend it.

This August, I participated in the Mauna Kea Summit Sunset & Stargazing Tour. Unfortunately, we couldn't see the stars from the summit due to the weather, but we did catch glimpses of the sunset peeking through the clouds, which was quite dramatic! Also, our guide, J IN, really wanted to show us the stars and took us to various spots to try and catch a view! The stories during our travels were enjoyable, and I had a great time! I definitely want to participate again!

今年、８月にマウナケア山頂サンセット&星空観測ツアーに参加しました。残念ながら山頂からの星空は天候の関係で見れなかったけれど、時々雲の合間から夕陽が少し見えて結構ドラマチックでした！また、ガイドのJ INさんはツアー参加者になんとか星空を見せてあげたいと色々と場所を変えて見せてくれました！移動中のお話も楽しくとっても楽しかったです！またぜひ参加してみたいです！

The sea was wonderfully blue. I was very satisfied to see dolphins.

I was a bit worried about kayaking with my 8-year-old child, but our guide, Noni, was very attentive, so we had no problems. It was a shame that the dolphins swam away during snorkeling, but I was more than satisfied with the many fish and the blue sea.

This was definitely a tour I would like to experience again.

8歳の子連れでカヤックが少し心配でしたが、ガイドのノニさんが丁寧に対応してくれたため問題なく過ごせました。
スノーケリング時にイルカが離れてしまったのは残念でしたが、多くの魚と青い海で十分に満足できます。

是非、また体験したいツアーでした。

We participated as a couple. It was both of our first time snorkeling, but since the other participants were experienced, our two guides were almost constantly there to support us. We were able to see many dolphins swimming up close, and I got to see a dolphin resting underwater for the first time while snorkeling. My wife had some seasickness and couldn't swim much, so I recommend that anyone who is prone to motion sickness take some medication beforehand.

夫婦２人で参加しました。２人ともスノーケリングは初めてでしたが、他の参加者が経験者だったこともあり、２人のガイドさんが、ほとんどつきっきりでフォローしてくれました。たくさんのイルカが泳いでいる姿を間近で見ることができ、スノーケリングでは、海中で休んでいるイルカを初めて見ることができました。妻は船酔いもあって、あまり泳げませんでしたので、乗り物酔いしやすい人は、あらかじめ酔い止めを飲んだ方がいいです。

Since it was a catamaran, I didn't have to worry about seasickness, and I enjoyed a lot of snorkeling. The food was also delicious. Everything was prepared except for bringing a towel, so it was easy to participate.

双胴船なので船酔いの心配もなく、たくさんシュノーケルを楽しんできました。お食事も美味しかったです。タオルを持参するくらいで他はすべて用意されているので気軽に参加できました。

On the way to the destination, it rained and there were many clouds, making it impossible to see the sky, which was quite nerve-wracking as we headed to the summit. Although there were many clouds, the sunset peeking through them and the evening glow that turned the clouds red was wonderful.
I don't have any photos, but the starry sky was also amazing. I may have realized for the first time just how many stars there are.
Our guide, Macchan, was also very enjoyable and made the experience memorable. He was the person who left the biggest impression on me during this trip.

現地に向かう途中は雨が降ったり，雲が多くまったく空が見えなかったり，ハラハラドキドキで山頂に向かいました。雲は多かったものの雲間からのサンセットと雲を赤く染めた夕焼けが素晴らしかったです。
写真はありませんが，星空も最高でした。こんなにたくさん星があることを初めて知ったかもしれません。
ガイドのまっちゃんもとても楽しいガイドをしていただきました。今回の旅行で一番印象に残った人でした。

The sunset and the starry sky were very beautiful, and the tour was enjoyable with easy-to-understand explanations of the constellations.

I received various precautions to avoid altitude sickness, but I think it would have been helpful to add what symptoms to watch out for.

We were lucky enough to see a considerable number of dolphins, including a group. After spotting them at the first location, we continued searching for more spots, and in the end, we were able to see many wild dolphins at all four spots we visited, which was thrilling. During the journey, the discussions about dolphins were engaging, and the fun atmosphere made for a satisfying experience.

大当たりで群れ含めてかなりの数のイルカを見ることができました。最初のスポットで見れた後も、更なるスポット探しに余念がなく、結局回った4スポット全てで多くの野生のイルカを見ることができ、感激でした。移動中もイルカにまつわるトークはもちろんのこと、楽しい雰囲気で盛り上げてくれ、満足いく時間を過ごすことができました。

I'm sorry for the late review. My child wanted to see the stars on the Big Island, so we booked this tour. Since I had previously climbed Haleakalā on Maui, I didn't worry too much about altitude sickness. The guide took photos for us and shared fun stories during the drive, making the time fly by. The moonlight made it a bit difficult to see the stars (though it was still much better than back home), so next time we visit, I'll check the lunar calendar and will definitely book this tour again.

遅い体験談ですみません。子供がハワイ島で星を見たいと言っていたのでこちらのツアーを申し込みました。以前マウイ島のハレアカラに登ったことがあるので高山病の心配はそれほどしないで済みました。ガイドさんが写真を撮ってくれたり車中も楽しい話をしてくれてあっという間でした。月明りで星が見えづらかったので（地元よりはそれでも全然見えます）次に訪問する際は月暦も見てまたこちらにお世話になります。

On the way to the summit, we gradually acclimatized to prevent altitude sickness, but when we reached the top, a few people seemed to be suffering from it. It seems that if you sit and watch the sunset without forcing yourself to move, you'll be okay. We observed the starry sky from a point much lower than the summit, where the symptoms of altitude sickness had subsided, and we were able to enjoy stargazing. It was the best tour, as we got to see a starry sky that we usually can't see.

山頂に向かう途中で高山病対策で少しずつ体を慣らしていくのですが、山頂につくと数人高山病にかかり辛そうでした。無理に動かず座ってサンセットを見ていれば何とかなるようです。星空観測は山頂からだいぶ降りた所で観測したのでそこでは高山病の症状は治まっており楽しく星空観測出来ました。
普段見れない星空を見ることが出来最高のツアーでした

I apologize for being a bit late, but I was told to "please come calmly." My daughter was at the very edge of the age limit to participate, but she quickly got along with the older kids and seemed to have a great time meeting the dolphins. Thank you for taking care of her!

Mantas were flipping in front of me, 5 or 6 of them.
I could see them up close!
At first, it was scary to see their mouths so clearly, but they would never attack.
I never expected to see them this close.
It was super fun!

マンタが5～6枚、かわるがわる目前で宙返り。
目前って、カスッテますよ！
最初は口の中がハッキリ見えて怖かったけど、決して襲わえれる事はない。
こんな近くで見えるとは思ってもいませんでした。
超楽しいです。。

Among the various tours available, I chose this one based on the reviews. The wetsuit rental is an additional $10, but it’s a fantastic tour. As mentioned in someone else's post, this tour lights up the water, attracting plankton, and many mantas come to visit! I spent about an hour right in front of the mantas! According to the tour guide, there were supposedly 11 mantas!

Other tours seemed to encounter mantas nearby, but this tour allows you to see them up close. It became a lifelong memory!

It can get a bit cold, so warm clothing is essential!

いろいろのツアーがある中、口コミの内容でこちらを選びました。
ウエットスーツ10ドルが別になりますが、素晴らしいツアーです。
どなたかの書き込みにもありましが、このツアーか灯を照らし、そこにプランクトンが集まります。そこにマンタがたくさん来てくれました！目の前で約一時間、マンタとの時間を過ごせました！ツアーの方曰く、11匹のマンタだったらしいです！

他のツアーは、このツアーの側にきて、マンタとの遭遇のようでした。
でも、一番側で観れるのはこのツアーです。
一生の思い出になりました！

少し寒くなりますので、防寒は必須です！

The land lesson before going to the sea was thorough, and they were considerate of the children who were there for the first time, which made it enjoyable. It was a bit disappointing that there were few waves, and we spent almost all our time just floating... but it can't be helped.

海に行く前の陸のレッスンも丁寧で、
海でも初めての子供に配慮してくださり、楽しめました。
波が少なくて、ほぼ浮かんでる時間だったのが残念でした…。仕方ないですけど。

I got seasick. The scenery was really beautiful and it was the best. Be careful of sunburn and seasickness. Thank you.

I had been repeatedly turned down by dolphins in Oahu, Guam, Saipan, and Bali. I signed up for my first dolphin tour on the Big Island, but my family gave me cold looks, saying, "You won't see any dolphins anyway." Deep down, I was filled with a sense of foreboding that I wouldn't see them. (Just in case I didn't see any dolphins on this tour, I booked a stay at Hilton Waikoloa Village, planning to participate in a dolphin program with my kids if all else failed...)

When I mentioned this, our guide Daisuke said, "Let's end that unfortunate record today! Don't worry! You'll see them!" His encouraging words gave me hope. As I boarded the boat, I silently prayed, "I believe!" Just one minute in, I heard, "Oh, there are dolphins!" and when I looked out at the sea, there they were!!! I had never seen them before, but I recognized them immediately! The dolphins were swimming with their dorsal fins breaking the surface repeatedly. And then, we quickly went into the water! There were dolphins everywhere; I was amazed at how many there were. At that moment, I was truly moved...

However, the ocean is vast, and when they dive deep, we just had to wait. But Daisuke dove down to the dolphins. Strangely, they were drawn to him and came up to the surface near us! Incredible, just incredible!

According to Daisuke, "Today, the dolphins are really in a good mood; if I call them ten times, they'll respond every time." (Daisuke can tell the dolphins' moods... that's amazing...) When a dolphin swam past me over my shoulder, I was just overwhelmed with emotion. A regular participant (who has joined this tour about 50 times) said that the dolphins are attracted to Daisuke, and he has never failed to see them.

What I found most wonderful about this tour, especially as a family participant, was when Daisuke said, "Parents, please focus on yourselves. I'll take care of the kids." He actually helped the children who were struggling to get to the dolphins in the water. Thanks to him, I was able to chase the dolphins freely and enjoy myself without worry. I believe families can participate with peace of mind, and it's clear why there are so many regulars; it was a fantastic tour.

We encountered a large group of dolphins just one minute after boarding, but on average, it takes about 50 minutes to find a pod of dolphins.

Once my children's exams are over, I want to go back to the Big Island and join the tour again!

オアフ島・グアム・サイパン・バリ・・・と何度も何度もイルカにフラれ続けた私。
ハワイ島での初のイルカツアーをこちらに申し込みましたが「どうせイルカには会えないって」と家族からも冷たい視線を送られる私。
内心、会えない予感でいっぱいでした。
（今回のツアーで会えなかった場合に備えて、ヒルトンワイコロアビレッジに宿泊。最悪子供とドルフィンプログラムに参加するつもりでした・・・。）

その話をすると、ガイドのダイスケさん、「その不名誉な記録は今日で終わりにしましょう！大丈夫です！会えます！」と力強いお言葉。
「信じてますよ～！！」と心の中で祈りつつ、乗船して一分。
「あ、イルカいますよ～」と言われ、目を海にやるとイルカちゃんが！！！
今までに一度も見たことないのに、すぐに分かりました！
イルカちゃんが何度も何度も海面に背びれを出して泳いでました。
そして、早速海の中へ！
います、います、イルカちゃん達。本当に一体何匹いるんだろうと驚くばかりのイルカの群れ。もうこの時点で私は感動。。。。

ただ海は広いので、深いところへもぐってしまうと、ただ待つことになるのですが、ダイスケさんが素潜りでイルカちゃん達のもとへ。
不思議なことに、それに誘われてイルカちゃんが海面に上がってきて私たちの近くまでやってきてくれるのです！すごい、すごすぎる！

ダイスケさん曰く、「今日は本当にイルカちゃんみんな機嫌がよくて、10回誘ったら10回応えてくれる感じです～」とのことでした。
（イルカちゃんの機嫌がわかる、ダイスケさん、、、すごすぎる。。。）
誘われてきたイルカが私の肩越しにすれ違った時は本当にただただ、感動してしまいました。
常連の方（いままでこちらのツアーに50回くらい参加されている）曰く、ダイスケさんにイルカちゃんはひきつけられてくるんで、一度も会えなかった事はないです～とのことでした。
何より家族で参加した私が一番このツアーで素敵だな～と思ったのは、
「お父さん、お母さんは自分のことをしっかりやってください。子供のことは僕が見ます」とダイスケさんがおっしゃってくださり、実際うまく海の中でイルカのところへ行けな子供達を適時面倒見てくれたこことです。
おかげで、私は本当にのびのびイルカを追いかけまわして、心置きなく楽しむことができました。
家族連れの方も安心して参加していただけると思いますし、常連さんがいらっしゃるのがよくわかる、素敵なツアーでした。

今回私たちは乗船して1分でイルカの大群に出会うことができましたが、平均的にはイルカの群れを見つけるためには、50分くらいかかるそうです。

子供の受験が終わったらまたハワイ島に行ってツアーに参加したいと思ってます！

I never expected to meet so many wild dolphins, so it was truly a wonderful experience. I was nervous because I'm not good at swimming, but they held my hand the whole time and checked in on me frequently, which helped me relax and enjoy it. ♡ It became the best honeymoon!

野生のイルカにあんなたくさん会えるなんて思ってなかったので本当に素敵な体験が出来ました。泳ぐのが苦手で不安だったんですが、ずっと手を引いてくれて声かけもこまめにしてくださってリラックスして楽しめました♡

The sunset from the 4200m summit was wonderful. I was thrilled to see the observatory with the Subaru Telescope. The stargazing from 3500m was also great. I was worried about altitude sickness, but I was able to enjoy it without any issues. I am grateful to our guide, Jin.

4200mの山頂からの夕日は素晴らしかったです。スバル望遠鏡のある天文台が見られ感激しました。3500mからの星の観賞も良かった。高山病を心配していましたが、そのようなこともなく楽しめました。ガイドの仁さんに感謝します。

Rather than swimming with the manta rays, it feels more like observing them from above while holding onto a board on the surface of the water. It seems that touching the manta rays is prohibited and comes with a hefty fine, so no one reaches out to them. As a result, the manta rays appear completely unafraid and even come surprisingly close, making me think they might be curious enough to wonder if I could be food!

マンタと一緒に泳ぐというより、海の上でボードにつかまって上からマンタを観察する感じです。マンタを触ったりするのは禁じられており高額な罰金があるそうで誰も手を伸ばさないので、マンタは全く危険を感じない様子で、こちらが食べられるんじゃないかと思うくらい近くまで来てビックリでした！

We were able to enjoy over 100 dolphins just one minute after departure! Captain Nawata and Daisuke taught us a lot, and we had a wonderful snorkeling experience two years later! Highly recommended.

出港から１分で100頭以上のイルカと楽しむことができました！！船長の縄田さんや、だいすけさんに色々と教えていただき2年後しの楽しいシュノーケリングができました！とてもおすすめです。
