Staff was very knowledgable and friendly. We did the afternoon cruise and were amazed by how many people they fit onto the boat...it was huge. The snorkling was great and it was easily modifed for all ability levels from small (2 yr old) children, to the elderly. They do not provide life vests, but you dont need them. They do have waist floats if you would feel more comfortable. Great time

After two weeks on Island and doing many things, we reflected on our wonderful adventure with the Fair Wind gang. From the Wahines at the check in to the crew on board an awesome time was had by all. We made friends along the way and had a much needed adventure you can't get unless you get aboard. The island is so beautiful from off shore and should be checked out by everyone in need of some true fun. The boat is clean and comfortable. The crew was really up for giving everyone what they needed and smiles and laughter where the results all around. We saw more dolphin on this trip than we did on an actual dolphin trip we went on. A win win in our book. We have a condo in Kona and go quit often. Fair Wind adventures have made a return client out of us on our future trips. Mahalo nui loa for all the le'ale'a (fun)!!!!

The crew was knowledgeable, informative, and willing to accommodate every skill level. They provided a narrative about the Captain Cook Monument and a quick review of how to snorkel for the experienced participants. For those with little or no experience they provided further assistance. The waters were clear and the coral was beautiful. We spotted several different types of fish too. The fresh oranges and pineapples provided as snacks were quite delicious after being in the water for so long. All in all this was a very pleasant excursion.

This was the best snorkel experience I ever had. The crew is very nice. I saw many amazing things, such as coral, beautiful fish, and sea turtles. I even got extremely close to about 20 dolphins. The boat is also nicely equipped with a water slide and diving board, which are a lot of fun. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to have a great snorkeling experience.

First of all I would like to coment how easy it was to book this trip. Even so I made a mistake on the date, Fairwind Cruises had no problem what so ever to correct MY mistake and honor my booking for the right day and time. No hassels what so ever. when do you ever hear about that!!!
The day of our trip we arrived at Kaehou Bay and where greeted and welcomed in the most proffessional manner.Everybody was fitted with sanitized snorkel gear once boarded.Safty intructions where clear and to the point.Refreshments and snacks where plenty.
Staff was helpfull and informative. One of the guys even retieved a $100 dollar bill for a passenger that flew into the water. I hope he got a good tip, lol
The boat took us to Captain Cook Monument where there was incedible snorkling.
The ship had also a highdive and a huge slide. Kids had a ball.
One the way back to the bay delicious mai tais where served.(no host bar)
What an afternoon...............

Kayaking was fun -Cave was not quite what I had expected (much smaller, but impressive all the same) and I didn't think about the fact that I could not see while snorkeling due to not being able to wear glasses. Otherwise, tour guides were great and this was a very enjoyable way to spend time in the sun.

Wow is really all I can say... the boat was a good size a little rocky so if you get motion sickness you will definatley need to something. The snacks were fruit & a cracker mix, the fruit was very good. The drinks besides water & juice are I believe 50 cents a piece. The Boat had a diving platform & slide, so that was pretty fun. They do have prescription goggles if you need those & flotation devices if you need those as well. One of the best things is there are parts that are anywhere from 2 to 7ish feet from the reef it was so beautiful & at times I was literally swimming with the fish. Awsome place I'll have to go back now with my boyfriend.

Although we really enjoyed the beautiful setting and being on the water it would have been much more enjoyable if they had provided fins. The water was a little choppy and we weren't able to snorkle as long as we wanted because we were just too tired after all the paddling. Also, we weren't able to enter the sea cave because of the waves. I was hoping to see dolphins or turtles but I guess it wasn't our lucky day. The staff were very nice and helpful but I think there are better sites for snorkling.

It was a dance show and fire dance performed by Polynesian people. There was a person cracking coconuts, and between the shows, the host introduced the upcoming show, but since I don't understand English, it was all gibberish to me. However, I was able to enjoy the show itself regardless of the language barrier. As for the food, my impression was, "Is this all there is?" By the way, the day we saw it was sunny, so it was outdoors, but it seems that the next day it was rainy and held indoors. I wonder if they can't do the fire dance indoors?

I had never been snorkeling before and didn't know what to expect, but everything was easy and fun! To my great relief they had prescription masks so I could actually see the gorgeous fish and coral underwater. It was wonderful, with plenty of time to enjoy it. The motor raft ride to the dive site was very exciting and very fast--bring a hat but make sure it ties onto your head--with stops along the way to look at caves, lava tubes, etc. Lots of playful dolphins surrounded the raft at one point. Highly recommended!

Two Virginians loved this excursion! We're so glad that we rode on a tandem kayak so we could switch on paddling. You need to be somewhat physically fit so you can keep up with everyone. We were soo lucky to see an off-season whale, as well as a pod of dolphins. I know it's up to mother nature to see these incredible creatures, but i would have still enjoyed the tour without seeing them. Highly recommended.

We had a great time at Island Breeze. The location is excellent and the weather was perfect when we were there (April). The Mai Tai's were perfect and so was the food. Gotta try the poi!! Before the show started there was several interactive demonstrations that were fun. The show itself explained well the history and varied cultural influences of the Hawaiian islands. Overall a great evening.

We enjoyed the show, and the MC was really funny and had a good voice. Before it started we ended up waiting in several different areas for them to set up. The cups for the drinks were too small, even for water and soda. I can understand having small cups for the alcohol, but it was difficult to drink enough water. It would have been more comfortable with the tables and chairs set up on the grass, instead of sitting on concrete (too hot!)Also, a bigger selection of vegetarian options would be good. Overall, as first timers to the Island, we really enjoyed the show. Thanks!

This was our first trip to Hawaii, and we thought the luau was a great value! The food was great, and since our room looked over the luau area, we got to see the pig being put in the imu pit early in the day, and then experienced how great it tasted hours later!
Unfortunately our luau was rained out just as the show started, and though we got a raincheck for the show, we had another event planned for luau nights and could only come late into the show. I think we missed a good portion of the fire dancers as we only saw one guy. What we did see was great though!
I'd definitely do it again.

It was definitely a unique experience, and having it depart from the pier in downtown Kona was great. We saw some marine life, though I guess we expected a bit more variety of fish (mostly yellow ones). Guess the fish don't come when it's sub time though! We loved looking at the coral and seeing a whole different world under the surface.
We did buy the CD that was offered for $20 with your picture, thinking it would have a variety of marine life pictures from previous trips, but on first inspection, it doesn't appear to have much. We did get our picture on the CD plus pictures of everyone else on the ride ... Don't think it was worth the $20.
Overall, a great and unique thing to do and I'd definitely recommend it to first-timers and those with kids, but not something I'd do again I don't think.
