It was the first time for my husband and me to go to the sea in a long while and to try sea kayaking. Since both of us are over 50, we were a bit worried about our physical stamina and felt a little nervous about participating, but we had a great time thanks to the careful instruction on how to operate the kayak.

The guide spoke very clear and fluent Japanese, having experience living in Japan, so we had no worries about the language barrier.

We placed our valuables in waterproof bags attached to the kayak, but other belongings were left on the shore (we left ours in Kevin's car), so I think it's best to keep your luggage to a minimum!

As for the tour, we progressed while watching the waves crashing against the cliffs. We were able to see wild goats as well.

The cave exploration, which I was most looking forward to, allowed us to see the waves crashing at the cave entrance, but due to high waves, we couldn't go inside this time. It was quite disappointing, but we can't go against nature... Still, it's a shame! We enjoyed snorkeling in a beautiful coral area, surrounded by colorful fish, floating and diving as we pleased. I might have overdone it here, as I felt a bit tired on the way back.

Also, being someone who gets cold easily, I couldn't stop shivering after getting out of the sea. I think I lost body heat since I paddled back while still wet, so I recommend that those who are sensitive to cold have something warm to put on right after getting out of the water.

We participated from Kailua-Kona, but since we didn't rent a car, we took a taxi to the meeting point. It took about 15 to 20 minutes and cost around $30 including tip (though I'm a bit unsure about the exact amount...). On the way back, we took the trolley bus from the nearby Sheraton Hotel. The ride took about 35 to 40 minutes and cost $2 per person. The bus runs every two hours, so I think it's a good idea to check the schedule in advance.

夫婦そろって久しぶりの海に初めてのシーカヤック。
二人とも50歳を超えているので体力的なことも心配で、ちょっとドキドキしての参加でしたが、操作の方法など丁寧に指導していただき、楽しい時間を過ごせました。
ガイドさんは日本にお住まいの経験もあるということで、とても聞き取りやすい、上手な日本語を話され、言葉の不安はありませんでした。

貴重品は防水バッグに入れてカヤックに取り付けますが、その他の荷物は岸に置いていくので（私たちはケビンさんの車に置かせていただきました）、荷物は極力少なく！！！がいいと思います。


ツアー内容ですが、シーカヤックは波が岸壁に打ち付けられる様子を見ながらどんどん進んでいきます。
野生のヤギも見ることができました。

今回、一番楽しみにしていた洞窟探検、洞窟の入り口に波が打ち付けるところを見ることができたのですが、今回は波が高く中に入ることはできませんでした。かなり残念でしたが、自然には逆らえません・・・。けど残念！！！！
サンゴのきれいなところでシュノーケリングは楽しむことができました。
色鮮やかな魚もたくさんで、自分たちの好きなように浮かんだり潜ったり。
ここではしゃぎすぎたか、帰りは少し疲れました。


あと、寒がりの私は海から上がった後震えが止まりませんでした。
濡れたままカヤックを漕いで帰ってきたので体温が奪われたのだと思いますが、寒がりの方は岸に上がった後、すぐに羽織れるものがあったらいいかなと思います。

私たちはカイルア・コナからの参加だったのですが、レンタカーは借りていなかったので、集合場所へはタクシーで向かいました。
時間は15分～20分、チップも含めて＄30くらいだったと思います。（ちょっと金額はあやふやです・・・）
帰りはすぐそばのシェラトンホテルからトロリーバスで帰りました。乗車時間35分～40分、一人＄2です。バスは2時間に1本とかなので、事前に調べていかれるといいと思います。

Didn't see anything at the first spot unfortunately.
Saw a few mantas at a second spot which was cool.
It was great that the group has a significant discount for doing another outing with them so we also did the day snorkel adventure a few days later.

I was a bit scared when they said there were no life jackets, but surprisingly, I floated just fine. I was so moved to see a pod of dolphins, and then… a big shark was slowly swimming along the bottom, and I was told to get back on the boat quickly. Wait, seriously? That silhouette was definitely a shark. It was huge. I heard that sharks eat dolphins.

So, I might have spent less time in the water, but I made it back safely, so it’s a good memory.

ライフジャケットなしって言われて、ちょっとびびったけど、意外と浮くので、なんとか。
イルカの群れに会えて感動と思ったら…大きなシャークが、水底をゆーっくり泳いでて、早く、ボートに上がってって。えっ、まじか。
確かにあのシルエットは、サメに間違いない。大きい。サメは、イルカ食べるらしい。
そんな感じで、水中にいる時間、少なめかも、だけど、無事帰れたので、良い思い出。

Night snorkeling with Manta Rays was definitely one of the highlights on our trip to The Big Island!
You get the opportunity to see these huge, gracious creatures up close under the water but no fear, they are not dangerous at all. The SeaQuest crew did an excellent job, making sure everyone felt safe and comfortable on the boat, in the water and with the snorkeling gear.
The crew were very knowledgeable and caring about the Manta rays safety too. After the tour, everyone was served hot chocolate and cookies. Tip: bring warm clothes.

Our family attended the dinner cruise on Thanksgiving and we were not disappointed. The food and scenery were both excellent, and the tour guide was very knowledgeable and was able to answer questions. The music was also very good, and there was even some dancing during the return trip. Would highly recommend this trip during your stay on the Big Island.

I participated because I wanted to see manta rays up close. The boat ride was fine, but while we were searching for the manta point, the boat was stopped and it was really rocky, causing more than half of the people to get seasick. I felt so nauseous that it was tough to get into the water.

I did see the manta rays, but the seasickness was so painful that it diminished the enjoyment...

マンタを近くで見てみたくて参加しました。
船で移動中は大丈夫でしたが、マンタポイントを探す間、船が止まっていたんですが、揺れが凄くて半数以上の人が船酔いしていました。
気持ち悪くなり過ぎて、海に入るまでが大変でした。

マンタは見れましたが、船酔いが辛すぎて楽しさが薄れました。。。

Overall, great and once in a lifetime experience to see manta ray(s) up close. We also saw a reef shark and lots of schooling fish. Seaquest provides you with everything you need (wet suit, snorkel gear, etc.). You may leave your dry items on the boat (ie. valuables, phones). All you really need is a towel since it can get chilly after.

We saw one manta ray up close which was spectacular. The remainder of the snorkeling experience was a lot of waiting around and viewing other wildlife. Staff were kind and willing to help out with all our needs.

This was an experience of a lifetime. The guys and girls and SeaQuest we're so helpful and made the night so much fun. They even called as we got a little turned around on the way there. Everything from getting aboard the boat to dropping off afterwards and everything in between was really easy. When in the water we had lots of Manta Ray sightings. They are enormous beautiful creatures! The crew was very knowledgeable and their passion shows! We would definitely do this night snorkel again on our next trip.

Great way to spend a day and learn about the Big Island. If you are lucky enough to have Keith Mowibski as your guide the tour gets better by 10X. He is knowledgeable about the history of the island like no ones business. Can’t say enough good things about this tour.

On the day of check-in at the hotel, I watched a show. I had a standard seat, but since I lined up right after the reception started, there were only about 15 people ahead of me, so I was guided to a spot near the front of the standard seating, and I could see the show well. However, I think the back of the standard seating is still a sufficient distance to see everything.

The meal was in buffet style, with options like meat dishes and poke. Alcohol was also available. The show lasted about two hours and was performed intermittently. After a long flight, I felt it was a bit too long for me, but the climax with the fire show was stunning and woke me up.

For those who find it troublesome and stressful to arrange meals on the first day of arrival, I think it would be a good idea to book this plan where you can eat to your heart's content while watching the show.

ホテルチェックイン当日にショーを観ました。
スタンダード席でしたが、受付開始時間直後に並んだところ15人ほどしか並んでいなかったので、スタンダード席の前の方に案内してもらえ、ショーがよく見えました。
ただ、スタンダード席後ろの方でも充分見える距離だと思います。
食事はビュッフェ形式で、肉料理やポケなどが食べられます。
アルコールも飲めます。
ショーは約2時間に渡って断続的に行われ、長時間フライト後でとても疲れていた私にとっては少し長すぎかなと思いましたが、クライマックスの火のショーは圧巻だったので目が覚めました。

到着初日に食事の手配をするのが面倒だし不安だなという方は、ショーを見ながらお腹いっぱい食べられるこのプランを予約しておくのもありだと思います。

I am here working and my son came to visit. It was a great way to experience the waterfalls. Perfect for any age. Employees were very nice and helpful. The guides were great made you feel very comfortable and safe. I would definitely recommend this as an activity to see parts otherwise impossible.Hope to be able to visit again.

From the start of this tour we knew it was going to be great. The staff are friendly & engaging. Admittedly it was only our family of 4, which was really nice. The whole afternoon was filled with tuna jumping around us, checking out caves, snorkelling in what I can only describe as one of the best snorkel locations I have ever been to, finishing with dolphins swimming with us on our way back! If I was here for longer I would go again.

What an amazing experience!!  Not only are you able to see the beauty in a fun adventurous manner but there is time and places to capture pictures in between some of the ziplines. The views are stunning and you’ll see waterfalls, rainforest, the ocean and so much more. The staff does a great job of getting everyone to open up and have a great time. They take the time to give you tips on how to do things so you get the most out of your experience. You are sure to laugh the entire time! It was great to also see so many kids on our tour who had an amazing time!
There is a little store before you start where you can get some things like souvenirs, treats, and bug spray.  If you go on a rainy day I would note you could get some mud onto yourself but it is minimal. It may also be helpful to consider the equipment when dressing.  Many on our tour thought it would be cooler because of the rain to start but the equipment keeps you a bit warm so many had rain coats they didn’t want. They do have some video and picture packages you are able to purchase of your tour and I recommend waiting to purchase these extras until the end of your tour to see if you like them.  If you go with the GoPro camera option then you will want that ahead of time.

The whole experience was amazing! We arrived late due to road closures, our guide Kevin was so patient & kind. We set out in hopes of finding dolphins, you never know if they’ll show up. Boy did they! We were the only people out there so we had them all to our selves. The dolphins swam & played with us for an hour. Stunning & thrilling, an experience we’ll cherish forever!!! Thank you so much Kevin for sharing your passion!
My suggestion, bring your underwater camera!

I love dolphin swimming and have been to Mikurajima in Japan and the Bahamas in the past.

During my first visit to the Big Island, I participated in tours with your company and another local American company led by a captain with a small group. If I have the chance to come again, I would like to request Aloha Kona Tours. (^^)

The tour guide provided clear instructions, and the captain was attentive to observing the dolphins.

I believe both first-time dolphin swimmers and experienced ones can feel at ease.

The dolphins I encountered this time were often resting or moving around, so I hope to have the chance to communicate joyfully with them again someday. ♬

The sight of the wild spinner dolphins jumping was breathtaking.

ドルフィンスイムが大好きで、過去に日本の御蔵島やバハマへ行きました。

初のハワイ島では御社と他社(アメリカのローカルの方がキャプテンの少人数ツアー)に参加しましたが、次回また来ることがありましたら、アロハコナツアーズさんにお願いしようと思っています。(^^)

的確な指示をくれるツアーガイドさんと、ドルフィンのことをしっかり観察されているキャプテン。

初めてドルフィンスイムに挑戦される方も、経験者の方も、安心して頂けると思います。

今回私が出逢ったイルカちゃんたちは休養中や移動が多かったので、またイルカちゃんと楽しくコミュニケーションがとれることをリベンジ出来る日が来ると良いなと思いす♬

We went to see a cave a little away from the bay by sea kayak, dropped anchor nearby, snorkeled, swam for a while, and then kayaked back the same route. The kayak ride took about an hour one way. Since we didn't go ashore, it might be a bit hard for beginners. However, the instructor was very kind, and it didn't matter if you couldn't speak much English. Also, we took a route where there was a chance to see sea turtles, mantas, dolphins, and whales, so I think it would be a great experience if you time it with the season! By the way, I only saw a sea turtle.

シーカヤックで、湾から少し離れた洞窟を見に行き、その付近でアンカーを落とし、シュノーケリング、しばらく泳いで、またカヤックで、また来たルートを戻ります。
カヤックは片道１時間でした。
陸に上がらないので、ビギナーには少しハードです。
ただ、インストラクターは、とても優しくて、英語もそこまで話せなくても問題ない感じです。
そして、ウミガメやマンタ、イルカ、クジラに会えるチャンスのあるルートを通るので、季節を合わせるといい経験になると思います！
ちなみに私は、ウミガメにだけ会えました。

I was able to enjoy my time with a wonderful guide. Although I couldn't see any sea turtles, I was able to see many beautiful fish.

The team at Sea Quest was excellent! The crew was very informative and they really went out of their way to ensure we saw manta rays the whole time we were out on the water. It was such an amazing experience. I highly recommend this tour. It's a real life Blue Planet experience.
If you're nervous about being close to the mantas, don't worry! They are beautiful gentle giants! I recommend grabbing a drink at Rays on The Bay before to calm your nerves.

Our tour was initially rescheduled due to inclement weather. Sea Quest was really professional and gave us a free GoPro rental to make up for the inconveniences. On the day of the tour, they prepped us with all the necessary gear (prescription snorkels, wet suits, regular snorkels, etc.) And gave us a brief overview of what to expect before we headed into the waters.
We saw about 5 mantas that night. They swam close by and it was a really cool experience. There were 2 sea Quest employees in the water with us helping us each step of the way whether it be to adjust the snorkels or retrieve a noodle. They also kept giving us information about the mantas to make the trip more enjoyable.
After about 45 min in the water it was a short ride back to shore where they had hot chocolate and bags of cookies waiting for us.
Over all a very fun experience. Would definitely recommend.

The tour was amazing, scenic and very informative. Our tour guide, Ryan was very friendly and considerate and we enjoyed the tour a lot. Would definitely recommend to a friend.

Since it was a "budget trip," I participated in the afternoon plan and thoroughly enjoyed it.

The weather was nice, and I had fun sailing on the yacht. We even encountered a pod of dolphins in Kealakekua Bay. There was also plenty of time for snorkeling. On the way back, we had a bit of rain, but thanks to that, we were able to see a beautiful rainbow.

The staff only spoke English, but they were very friendly and went around offering drinks and cookies. I think it’s a sufficient tour unless you’re looking for meals or other extras.

「貧乏旅行」だったのでアフタヌーン・プランに参加しましたが、堪能しました。

天気が良かったこともありますが、ヨットでのセーリングを楽しみ、ケアラケクア湾ではイルカの群れにも遭遇。シュノーケリングの時間も十分にありました。帰りは一雨ありましたが、そのおかげで綺麗な虹まで見ることができました。

スタッフは英語のみでしたが、非常にフレンドリーで、飲み物やクッキーを配ってまわっていました。食事やその他のプラス・アルファを求めるのでなければ、十分なツアーだと思います。

I made a reservation for the afternoon session, but I received a message the day before suggesting that it would be better to start earlier due to the weather. It's best to answer calls from unknown numbers.

Kevin was in charge, and he was really great, especially with his excellent Japanese! The kayak experience was wonderful; the horizon was beautiful, and I wanted to keep looking at it. The snorkeling was thrilling too, especially when a shark passed by, but I really enjoyed the great outdoors!

It's important to take measures against seasickness and sunburn, but since they speak Japanese, they quickly consider any health concerns if you communicate them. They also took photos for us as a service and sent them the same day.

I was very satisfied!

The team where good and provided for a fun filled evening. The rays are beautiful and we got a few spin moves and seen about 6 animals. I highly recommend the experience and the ocean is lovely and warm. The only downside my wife had never snorkel before and required some extra guidance and assistance that wasn’t given so I did my best to help. Better instructions would have helped.

Drew was exceptional at telling story and being flexible with peoples preference. The lunch provided was good and the scenery was beautiful with highlights everywhere including Turtles, waterfalls, rainbows and Waipo Valley.

I was initially anxious about the meeting place since there were no buildings, but the guide arrived by truck, pulling the kayaks to the entry point to the sea. Accompanied by two pairs of beginner couples, including us and a Dutch couple, the guide adjusted to our slower pace and provided thorough explanations at various spots visible from the sea.

At the sea cave (which wasn't very deep), it was enjoyable to watch the Dutch man and the guide jump from the cliff (we declined to participate). Even when we capsized and fell into the sea, the guide calmly helped us back onto the kayak.

Since both pairs were beginners, we didn't go snorkeling but were simply informed about suitable spots. Although there was a bit of wind and waves, it was a fun first experience with enthusiastic and humorous explanations from the guide, all from a sea-level perspective.

集合場所が建物もなく不安でしたが、海へのエントリー場所に、積んだカヤックを引っ張ってトラックでガイド登場。
我ら初心者老夫婦とオランダ人カップルのふた組引き連れ、遅れがちの我々のペースに合わせ、海から見える場所場所で、丁寧な説明。
海中洞窟(それほど奥行きは無かったが)では、上の崖から飛び込み(オランダ人男性とガイドさんで、我々は辞退)も見ていても楽しいイベントでした。
転覆して海に落ちても、慌てず丁寧に、カヤックに引き上げてもらいました。
ふた組ともカヤック初心者のためか、シュノーケリングはしませんでしたが、てきせつな場所を教えてもらうだけでした。
風、波が少しあり疲れましたが、ひょうきんながら熱心な説明で、海から目線の楽しい初体験でした。

I was able to meet six manta rays! The Japanese instructor was very considerate of me, as I’m not good at swimming, and I had a really enjoyable time! Next time, I hope to swim with dolphins.

6枚のマンタに会えました！日本のインストラクターの方も泳ぎが苦手な私を気遣ってくれてとても楽しい時間を過ごせました！今度はイルカと泳げればと思います。

I had participated in a similar dolphin tour on Oahu, and it was great because we could see them from a very close distance and there were many of them. The beauty of the ocean was also wonderful, and it became a great memory. If you want to encounter dolphins with a high probability, I recommend this tour.

オアフ島で同様のイルカツアーに参加したことがありましたが、かなり近い距離で見られたのと、数多く見られたのですごくよかったです。海の綺麗さも素晴らしく、良い思い出になりました。イルカに高い確率で遭遇したい方はこのツアーがおすすめです。

My husband and I went on the snorkel experience and it was the best! We saw about 15 manta rays, including one with a 12 foot wingspan, and probably close to 10 barrel rolls where they came within a few inches of us. Our crew worked hard to make sure we were comfortable and that we had a good time (even made us hot cocoa after we got out of the water). I can't say enough great things about Ocean Encounters- you might find a cheaper manta ray swim, but you won't find a better one.
