I was able to enjoy a world I've never seen above the clouds! The stars were so numerous when it got dark that I couldn't even recognize the constellations, which was very moving. Our Japanese guide explained about the observatory and the stars in a way that was easy to understand, and they patiently helped us until we could find the constellations.

The road to the summit was bumpy, and I felt a bit of discomfort at the top, but having the tour guide with us made me feel at ease.

I'm really glad I participated in this tour!

雲の上の見たことのない世界を堪能できました！
星は暗くなるとたくさん見えすぎて星座がわからなくなるほどで、とても感動しました。
日本人のガイドさんで天文台や星についての説明が分かりやすく、星座を見つけられるまで丁寧に付き合ってくださいました。

山頂まではガタガタ道で、山頂では少し苦しさを感じましたがツアーガイドさんがいてくれたので安心できました。

このツアーに参加してとても良かったです！

Last time I participated in the Sunrise tour, and this time I joined the Sunset tour. I arrived on time for the meeting. Although the instructions were in English, I was grateful that I could communicate in Japanese when I got off the bus. I apologize for not understanding much of the information provided during the ride.

The sunset viewed in the clear air was truly beautiful. It might have been the first time I focused solely on the "sunset" without needing to think about anything else. It was simply beautiful. The stunning scenery before and after the sunset allows for a wonderful time that lasts longer than expected. Additionally, I was able to see the Venus Belt when I looked back, but this time, due to volcanic gas, I couldn't see the green flash. I would like to participate again the next time I visit the Big Island of Hawaii.

澄んだ空気の中見る日没は本当に美しかったです。
何かを考える必要のない中で「日没」に集中したのは初めてかもしれません。ただただ美しいものでした。
日没の前後で美しい景色は広がっているので、想定よりも長い間、素敵な時間を過ごせると思います。
また、振り返るとビーナスベルトが見れましたし、今回は火山ガスの影響でグリーンフラッシュは見れませんでした。
次回ハワイ島を訪れるときはまた参加したいと思います。

While the weather was fortunate, both the sunset at the summit of Mauna Kea and the starry sky were truly magnificent. We had plenty of time for stargazing, and I was able to fully enjoy it. I highly recommend it for those who love the night sky.

天気に恵まれた部分もあるでしょうが、マウナケア山頂の夕陽、星空共にとても素晴らしいものでした。星空鑑賞も十分に時間を取っていただき、堪能する事ができました。星空が好きな方にはお勧めできます。

Loved this tour - our tour guide was very accommodating and knowledgeable and we saw some beautiful spots of the island. Definitely recommend this trip as you get to see a lot in one day. My favourite places were the black sand beach with the sea turtles and the Volcanoes National Park (but to be honest, I loved all the sites).

This tour was highly recommended! The view from the summit was amazing, and the experience of watching the sunset and stargazing really lifted my spirits. Additionally, the guide covered the challenging parts, which made it much easier on both my body and mind.

The tour takes half a day, but during the travel, I listened to the guide's explanations, and at each spot, we took our time to thoroughly explore Mauna Kea, making for a fulfilling experience. I think preparing to go on your own would be quite difficult, but this tour takes care of altitude acclimatization, time management for descending, providing warm clothing and telescopes, as well as sandwiches and hot cocoa. Plus, I could rely on them for the long drive, making it a very convenient experience.

Being able to drive to this altitude is rare worldwide, and this tour minimizes the burden while maximizing the experience. Overall, it was fantastic, and there were no inconveniences at all.

頂上からの眺めは素晴らしく、日の入りも星見も気分が上がる体験です。
そして、大変な部分をガイドさんがカバーしてくれて、心身の負担が少なかったです。

ツアーは半日を要しますが、移動ではガイドさんの説明を聞き、各スポットではそれぞれ時間をとって、マウナケアをしっかりと見て回り、充実した時を過ごせました。
個人で行くには準備が大変だと思いますが、このツアーでは高地順応な下山の時間管理、防寒着や望遠鏡の準備、サンドイッチやホットココアの用意もしていただき、また長距離の運転もお任せできるので、とても手軽に体験ができるようになっています。
そもそもこの高度に車で行ける事自体が世界的に稀ですが、さらに負担を少なく、体験を最大化してくれているツアーです。
総じて素晴らしく、何も不便がありませんでした。

This evening offered stunning sunset views over Kealakekua Bay, with live entertainment that added a festive, relaxing vibe!

We got to explore the upper slopes of Hualalai Volcano, exploring ancient craters and crawling through a lava tube!

The guides shared geology, Hawaiian history, and local plant life in a way that felt really genuine. The group was also small so it never felt rushed.

Loved this tour! We saw so much of the Big Island in a single day. And the guide shared really interesting facts along the way.

A fantastic way to see the islands highlights in one day like the Volcanoes National Park, Waipio Valley (our favorite), black sand beaches, and gorgeous waterfalls.

The tour guide was super knowledgeable and kept a smooth pace, making it easy to enjoy every stop. Highly recommend for a comprehensive island experience.

The Mauna Kea volcano tour is a great balance of nature, science, and culture.

Such a great day - from the black sand beach to the Waipio Valley lookout and multiple waterfalls, of course with visiting Volcanoes National Park as the standout!!

As expected, the air was thin, so I needed to take deep breaths due to my physical age. However, the sea of clouds at 4,200 meters, the setting sun, and the dazzling starry sky were truly wonderful. Next time, I will bring my family along.

やはり空気が薄いので、肉体年齢的に深呼吸が必要でしたが、４２００メートルからの雲海と沈みゆく太陽、そしてまばゆい星空はやはり良かったです。今度は家族を連れて行きます。

Our guide, Shoutarou, was amazing!! At the summit, he took some fun photos with the sunset as a backdrop, and he had a wealth of knowledge about the starry sky, making the tour enjoyable without a dull moment. He also looked out for the guests to prevent altitude sickness (it seems that falling asleep during the journey can make you more susceptible to it), demonstrating great leadership as he guided us. Staying at an altitude of 4,200 meters is an activity you absolutely must experience when you come to the Big Island, something you can't do while in Japan!

ガイドのショウタロウさんが最高でした!!山頂ではサンセットを背景に面白い写真を撮ってくださったり、星空についての知識も豊富で、一瞬も飽きることなくツアーを楽しむことできました。高山病にならないようにツアーのお客さんに声がけをしたり(道中で眠ってしまうと高山病になりやすいようです)リーダーシップを取って引率されていて、頼もしいガイドでした!!日本に居たら経験できない標高4200ｍでの滞在はハワイ島にきたら絶対するべきアクティビティです。

The weather forecast for the day was cloudy with rain, and it was noted that the cloud cover at the Onizuka Center around 8 PM was 80-100%, which made me feel anxious and a bit resigned. However, in the end, I was able to see the most beautiful sunset and a sky full of stars, making it a truly wonderful and memorable day. Our guide, James, was very kind and attentive, and he took many photos for us. It was really a fantastic day and a great keepsake. Thank you very much.

当日の天気予報は曇り雨で、オニヅカセンターにも午後8時の曇り率は80-100%と記載されていたので不安と少しの諦めがありましたが、結果最高の夕陽と満天の星空を観ることができ大変素敵な思い出に残る1日となりました。ガイドのJames さんは人柄が良くとても気に掛けてくださり沢山写真も撮っていただきました。

The sunset and starry sky were absolutely beautiful, it was the best experience! Although the sunset and starry sky tour was conducted in English, our guide was very kind and helped us navigate using Google Translate, so we could participate without any issues. I definitely want to join again when I visit the Big Island of Hawaii.

The "BLT sandwich" and "hot cocoa" we received along the way were shockingly delicious. It became the best memory of our honeymoon!

It was truly a wonderful experience.

We were blessed with great weather and were able to see a sunset like no other.

Just after the sun set, the weather seemed to turn bad, and it looked like we wouldn't be able to do any stargazing. However, thanks to the guides who didn't give up and persevered, we were able to see a beautiful starry sky! It definitely ranks among the top three starry skies I've seen in various places.

The guides were very kind, and luckily, one of them spoke Japanese, so they explained everything in both languages. I was very impressed by their hospitality.

If I have the opportunity again, I would definitely want to join this tour.

お天気に恵まれ、これまでにないサンセットを見ることができました。

日が沈んですぐに天気が崩れて星空観測ができなさそうな状況だったのですが、ガイドさんたちが諦めずに粘ってくださったおかげで、無事美しい星空を見ることができました！これまでにいろんなところで見た星空のベスト3には絶対入ります。

ガイドさんもとても親切で、ラッキーなことに日本語も話される方だったので、両方で説明してくださいました。そのホスピタリティにもとても感激しました。

もしまた機会があるなら、絶対にこちらのツアーに参加したいです。

I was fortunate to join a tour with a guide who spoke Japanese, which made it easy to understand the important information and schedule. I had a great time! Both the sunset and the starry sky were breathtaking.

The sunset viewed from near the summit of Mauna Kea, followed by stargazing under a sky full of stars, was a fulfilling tour. After acclimatizing to the altitude at the visitor center, we drove up to the summit, where we were amazed by the sea of clouds below and the size of Mauna Loa. At the summit, after seeing various observatories from different countries, we enjoyed the main event: sunset viewing. We watched the setting sun from a quiet spot a little away from the crowded area filled with tourists. It was a magnificent sunset, even more grand than what we see from the ground. After that, we descended slightly for stargazing. The sky opened up 360 degrees, revealing the Milky Way, various constellations, Polaris, Saturn, and stars that are not visible from the ground, all clearly visible. The tour guide was perfect both on the way there and back, taking plenty of photos and ensuring we had a comfortable experience. If I have another opportunity, I would definitely like to use this service again.

マウナケア山頂付近から見る夕陽とその後の満天の星空観察は充実したツアーでした。
ビジターセンターで体を高地に慣らした後、車で山頂を目指すのですが、眼下に広がる雲海、そしてマウナロアの大きさに驚きます。山頂では各国の天文台を見た後に、本番の夕陽鑑賞です。たくさんの観光客がいる場所から少々離れた静かな場所で、沈みゆく夕陽を見ました。地上で見る以上の雄大な夕陽でした。その後、若干下った場所で星空観測。３６０度に広がる空に天の川をはじめ、様々な星座、北極星に土星など、地上では見えない星がはっきりと見えました。
ツアーガイドの方が行き帰りともに、パーフェクトなガイド、写真もたくさんとって頂き、快適に過ごさせて頂きました。
またの機会がありましたら、ぜひ利用させて頂きたいと思います。

I couldn't go on my own, and I didn't have much opportunity to study beforehand, so it was great to have a guided tour that was easy to understand. The guide was also very kind.

自力で行けないし、事前知識もあまり勉強できなかったのでガイド付きで分かり易くて良かったです。ガイドの方も大変親切でした。

I was torn between the sunrise tour with a Japanese guide and the sunset tour with an English guide, but I chose the sunset tour. There were no other Japanese participants besides us, and although we are not fluent in English, the guide helped us by speaking in Japanese at times, which was very helpful. The hot cocoa during the cold was also comforting!

Since we participated on a day close to the full moon, I heard that more stars are usually visible. However, we were able to see plenty of stars!

日本語ガイドの日の出ツアーか英語ガイドの夕日ツアーかで迷ったのですが、こちらの夕日ツアーを選択しました。
自分達以外は日本人の参加者がいなくて、英語も堪能ではない自分達ですが、ガイドさんが伝わりやすいように所々、日本語で話してくれ助かりました。
寒いときのホットココアも安らぎましたよ！

満月に近い日の参加だったので、ホントはもっと星が見えるそうです。でも十分、星みれましたよー！

My husband, who loves stargazing, has always wanted to visit the Subaru Telescope, and that dream has come true. He was happily and contentedly watching from a spot where we could see the sunset and the Subaru Telescope. Seeing him like that made me happy as well. As for me, I love looking at the sky, and on this day, the combination of the sea of clouds, colorful clouds, and sunset created a wonderful scene. The orange sunset and the pink sunset were beautiful. The guide took photos frequently from the best spots.

Although the conditions for stargazing were not ideal, being the second day after a full moon, we were still able to see a sky full of stars, the Milky Way, and shooting stars, which made me very satisfied. They showed us Saturn through a telescope and provided a lecture on the stars using a laser pointer. The photo with the Milky Way was a first-time experience and became a memorable shot. Our guide, Shotaro, was very friendly and spoke Japanese well. Although he is not Japanese, he explained everything in both English and Japanese since half of the participants were Japanese. I felt really lucky! Understanding the language added depth to the experience.

The sandwiches and hot cocoa under the starry sky were delicious, making it truly the best experience.

星をみるのが好きな夫がずっと行きたかったすばる天文台。その夢が叶いました。夕日とすばる天文台が見える場所で嬉しそうに満足気にずっと見ていました。そんな夫をみてわたしも嬉しくなる時間を過ごすことができました。わたしはというと普段から空をみるのが大好きで、この日は雲海と彩雲と夕日とがセットで素晴らしい光景でした。オレンジの夕日にピンクの夕日。ガイドの方が最高のポイントでこまめに写真を撮ってくださいました。
また星空については満月になって2日目という悪条件でしたが、満天の星に天の川・流れ星もみることができて大満足です。天体望遠鏡で土星をみせてくださったりレーザーをあてて星のレクチャーもしてくださいました。なんといっても天の川と一緒の写真は初体験で記念になる1枚となりました。そんな至れり尽くせりのガイドさんは日本語が上手で気さくなショウタロウさん。日本人ではないのですが参加者の半数が日本人だったこともあり、車の中でも着いてからもすへて英語と日本語で説明してくださいました。本当にラッキー！言葉がわかったので体験に深みがでたと思います。
サンドイッチも星空でのホットココアもおいしくて、本当に最高の体験でした。

The sunset from an elevation of 4,000 meters, higher than Mount Fuji, was simply amazing. The beauty created by the clouds and the setting sun is something I will never forget.

Although the starry sky was slightly clouded and the conditions weren't perfect, I was still able to see countless stars and the Milky Way. This is a tour I would recommend everyone experience at least once in their lifetime.

富士山よりも高い標高 4000 メートルからの夕日はただただ最高でした。雲と沈む太陽が織りなす美しさは一生忘れないと思います。
また星空は少し雲がかかっており完璧とは言えないコンディションでしたが、それでも無数の星と天の川が見れました。一生に一度は行くことを勧めたいツアーです。

I was moved to be able to visit the summit of Mauna Kea, renowned as a sacred mountain. On the way, as soon as we arrived at the mountain, it started to rain, and there were moments when thick fog made it hard to see, which made me anxious about reaching the summit. However, in the end, I was able to see the sunset through a gap in the clouds.

I felt grateful to witness both the harshness and gentleness of nature.

I also want to thank our guide, who explained everything in Japanese using Google Translate, as I can hardly speak or understand English.

神聖な山として名高いマウナケア山頂に行けて感動しました。
道中は、山に着いた途端に雨が降り出し、途中濃霧で周りが見えなくなるなど山頂まで行けるかヒヤヒヤしましたが、最後は雲の隙間から日の入りを見ることができました。
自然の厳しさと優しさを見ることができたような気がして、感謝が溢れました。

英語がほとんど話せない&聞けない私に、Google翻訳を駆使して日本語で説明してくれたガイドさんにも感謝。

星はほとんど見れなかったけど、本当に行って良かったです。ありがとうございました！
