I wanted to see the sunset and starry sky from the summit of Mauna Kea to celebrate my mother's 60th birthday, but all the sunset tours were fully booked. Just when I was about to give up, I found this site offering a starry sky and sunrise tour, and only Masashi Nature School had availability, so I joined immediately. With guidance from Masashi, who is not the president, we had a clear explanation of the starry sky using a laser pointer at the Onizuka Visitor Center, and we were able to see Saturn through a telescope (we could see the rings!). I was thrilled because my own camera couldn't capture the stars. The starry sky is truly beautiful—it's so stunning that words and photos can't do it justice. After enjoying warm drinks and sandwiches, we all climbed a nearby hill to watch the sunrise. I was moved by the sunrise emerging from the white sea of clouds. Although the road to the summit of Mauna Kea was closed due to snow, I was able to see the snow-covered Mauna Kea from the hill, which became a wonderful memory. For cold weather preparation, they provided thick jackets, pants, gloves, and hats, but since I'm sensitive to the cold, I wore two layers of Heattech, a fleece, a down jacket, a jumper, leggings, ski socks, and pants, which was just right. I was worried about altitude sickness, but thanks to Masashi's thoughtful care, we all had no issues, as we stopped to see the stars along the way and were allowed to take a nap near the visitor center. A person from the OP tour company who sat next to me on the flight from the Big Island to Honolulu mentioned that the sunset tour is also great, so I would like to participate in the sunset and starry sky tour next time.

母の還暦祝でマウナケア山頂からの夕日＆星空が見たかったのですが、夕日のツアーはどこも一杯で取れず諦めていたらこちらのサイトで星空＆朝日のツアーが、しかもマサシネイチャスクールさんだけ空いており即参加。社長さんではない方のマサシさんの案内でオニヅカビジターセンター側でレーザーポインターを用いて分かりやすい星空の説明と望遠鏡を使って土星(輪が見えました！)を見せて頂いたり、写真を撮って頂きました。持参したカメラでは星空が取れなかったので嬉しかったです☆星空は本当に綺麗です。写真や言葉では表現出来ないくらい綺麗です。温かい飲み物とサンドウィッチを頂いた後、近くの丘に全員で登り朝日を見ることが出来ました。白い雲海から出てくる朝日に感動しました。マウナケアは積雪でロードがクローズしており山頂からの朝日は見れませんでしたが、丘から雪で真っ白なマウナケアも見る事が出来たのでそれはそれで良い思い出になりました。防寒対策ですが、分厚い上着とズボン、手袋や帽子まで貸して頂けますが、寒がりなので中にヒートテック２枚、フリース、ダウン、ジャンバー、スパッツ、スキー用靴下、ズボンをはいて丁度良いくらいでした。心配していた高山病も途中車を降りて星空を見せて頂いたり、ビジターセンター近くまでは仮眠させて下さったりとマサシさんの気配りで全員問題ありませんでした。ハワイ島からホノルルまでの飛行機で席が隣だったOPツアー会社の方が夕日ツアーも良いと話されていたので次回は夕日＆星空ツアーに参加したいと思います。

The summit was closed due to strong winds, so we did the sunset and stargazing at the Onizuka Visitor Center. However, I was very satisfied. Our guide, Matsuzaki, was great. He mentioned that he studied hard for this tour, focusing on constellations and photography. While it's expected for a guide to study constellations, his photography skills were a huge help. He took a two-shot photo of my wife and me with Orion in the background and uploaded it online. My friend, who had climbed to the summit the day before, was really envious of this service. It seemed that his guide only provided standard explanations. The sunset photo I posted was also taken with a small digital camera, and I learned how to shoot in backlight conditions.

山頂は強風の為、道路が閉鎖されてまして、サンセットも星空観察も
オニズカヴィジタセンターで行いました。しかし、十分満足しました。
ガイドの松崎さんが良かったです。このツアーのガイドになって、
星座と写真撮影を懸命に勉強したと言ってました。ガイドだから星座の
勉強は、まあ当たり前だろうと思いますが、写真は大助かりです。
オリオン座を背景にした家内とのツーショット写真を撮ってくれて、
ネットにアップロードしてくれました。
前日に山頂まで登れた友人に、このサービスをすごく羨ましがられました。
友人たちのガイドは、とおり一遍の説明だけだったようです。
投稿したサンセットの写真も小さなディジカメで撮りましたが、
逆光の際の撮り方を教わって撮りました。

At the end of January, I participated in a tour for my honeymoon. The staff, tour content, and meals were all extremely satisfying, just as the reviews said. Usually, I purchase photos, but the staff took pictures with their own DSLR camera, which we could download for free online, so that was great. I will definitely join again when I visit the Big Island. Thank you very much.
P.S. The choice of background music in the car was nice (laughs).

The admired Subaru Observatory, with the sunset sinking into the sea of clouds and the starry sky, was wonderful. I hadn't considered the moon phase, so the moon was dazzling, but it looked beautiful in a different way than usual.

Along the way, we combined with another group, and two drivers/guides prepared and explained everything, allowing us to spend our time efficiently.

The miso soup we had at the Onizuka Center was unexpectedly served in a bowl, but it was delicious. On the way back from the Big Island, I visited the Onizuka Museum next to the airport, as recommended. Thank you, Ha-kun!!

The deciding factor for this tour was that I couldn't find any other organizer that offered transportation to my hotel, but I am satisfied with the content, the guide, and the lunch.

憧れのスバル展望台、雲海に沈む夕日も、星空も素敵でした。
月齢を考えていなかったので月が眩しかったですが、月もいつもと違って綺麗に見えます。

途中２台合同になり、２人のドライバー兼ガイドさんが準備と説明をしてくれて時間も無駄なく過ごすことが出来ました。

オニヅカセンターで頂いたお味噌汁、まさか、お椀で頂くとは思っていなかったですが美味しかったです。ハワイ島の帰りには教えてもらった空港脇のオニヅカ博物館に行ってきました。
葉くんありがとう!!

今回のツアーの決め手は、宿泊先のホテルへの送迎がこちらの主催しか見つからなかったという消去法ですが、内容・ガイド・お弁当ともに満足しています。

As the night sky darkened, I was disappointed because I had hoped to see a sky full of stars. But thanks to changing locations and being persistent, the clouds gradually cleared, and I was thrilled to see a sky full of stars! Next time, I will join a stargazing and sunrise tour.

Unfortunately, during this tour, there was a lot of gas at the summit of Mauna Kea, and we could only see Venus. However, our guide searched for a spot on the way back where we could see stars, and we were able to hear a bit about the stars.

Since it was close to a new moon, I was looking forward to using my DSLR and tripod, but this also turned out to be a good memory.

I plan to come back for a revenge tour.

The quality of the trip depends on the guide.

今回のツアーでは残念ながらマウナケア山頂ではガスが多く金星しか見れなかったですが、ガイドの方が帰路途中で星が見えてる場所を探して星のガイドを少しですが聞けました。
新月に近かったので一眼と三脚持参で楽しみにしてたのですが、これもこれで良い思い出になりました。

またリベンジする予定です。

旅の良し悪しはガイドできまります。

ここのガイドさんのおかげで本当に良い思い出ができました。

I am deaf and participated with my friends, and I was very happy and greatly helped by the staff who were very considerate and kind! The summit of Mauna Kea had breathtaking views and was very moving. I was glad to see the sunset and the starry sky beautifully. I learned how to take pictures of the starry sky from the staff, and I was able to take beautiful photos, which made me the happiest.

I was worried about the bad weather since the day before, but somehow I made it to the summit. I was moved to see a white rainbow before the sun set. Although there were many clouds, I was able to catch a glimpse of the sunset. However, on the way down, there was a snowstorm! Is this really Hawaii?! The guides desperately searched for a spot to observe the starry sky, and we descended quite a bit, but we were able to see a beautiful starry sky.

Since this tour is heavily influenced by the weather, if you expect too much, you might feel a bit unsatisfied. Next time, I want to see the sunrise.

前日から天気が悪く心配しましたが、どうにか山頂まで到着。太陽が沈む前に白い虹を見ることができ感動。雲が多かったものの、どうにかサンセットを見ることができました。ただ、下山中吹雪！これがハワイ?!って感じで。ガイドさんたちが星空観測できる場所を必死で探してくれてだいぶ下まで降りてきましたが綺麗な星空を見ることができました。
天気に左右されるツアーだけにあまり期待しすぎると物足りないかもしれません。
今度はサンライズを見てみたいな。

I participated with my husband. About eight years ago, I joined the same tour, and there was stargazing with telescopes, but that was not included this time, which disappointed my husband. I think it was due to the weather, but it would be disappointing for first-timers. The sunset was wonderful. However, it was extremely cold, so my previous experience was helpful. I think it's a good idea to bring Heattech or similar clothing.

Thank you for participating in the tour. On this day, the entire Big Island was covered in thick clouds, and we only had about ten minutes of sunset at the summit.

As for the stargazing, we couldn't see any stars at 3,600 meters. Normally, we would set up the telescope at this point, but there were no visible stars. We descended to the Onizuka Center, where we were able to see about 50% of the stars through a brief clearing. Additionally, we enjoyed stargazing at the junction on Saddle Road on our way back.

Unfortunately, due to the weather conditions, we were unable to set up the telescope. I sincerely apologize for this.

この度はツアーご参加ありがとうございました。この日はハワイ島全体が厚い雲に覆われ、山頂での夕陽も１０分程度でした。
その後の星空観賞ですが、まず３６００メートルで星が見えず、いつもでしたらこの時点で望遠鏡を出しますが見える星がなく、オニズカセンターまで下山し、
少しの晴れ間で５０％の星を見ることができました。また帰りながらサドルロードのジャンクションでの星の鑑賞をさせていただきました。
あいにくの天候での星空観賞でしたので望遠鏡がだせませんでした。大変申し訳ございませんでした。
またハワイ島にお越しの際はぜひツアーにご参加いただきますようよろしくお願い致します。

We participated as a couple, and it was amazing. First of all, our guide, Mr. Konno, was great. There were 13 participants, which was the maximum capacity, but he was attentive to each person, providing explanations during the transfers, suggesting photo spots and poses, and even timing for bathroom breaks, making everyone feel like a VIP.

The tour was well-structured, with warm drinks when it got cold and cookies when we felt a bit hungry—services that really hit the spot. The only downside was that the cold weather gear could have been a bit cleaner; I wish they had washed it beforehand.

Despite the forecast predicting "90% chance of rain" that evening, we were lucky as the clouds cleared up in the afternoon. By the time we left the hotel, it was said to be "probably okay," and along the way, we saw a rainbow near a mountain, a herd of wild sheep at the foot of the mountain, a sea of clouds, the peak of Mauna Loa peeking through the clouds, a beautiful sunset, and a sky full of stars, even enjoying the red glow of Kilauea volcano.

All the tour participants were wonderful, and we had a great time together. This is a well-planned, highly recommended tour!!!

夫婦で参加しましたが、最高でした。まず、ガイドの今野さんがよかった。定員一杯の13名参加でしたが、移動途中の説明や、写真撮影のスポットやポーズ、トイレのタイミングまで、一人ひとりを気遣ってくれて、全員VIP気分になれたと思いますよ。
ツアーの構成も、寒くなったら暖かいお飲み物、小腹が空いたらクッキーと痒い所に手が届くサービスでした。
ただ一つ、防寒具がちょ～っと…、洗濯しておいて欲しかったけど…

その日は「夜は90%雨」の予報だったのに、ラッキーなことに午後からどんどん雲が流れ去って行き、ホテル出発するころには「たぶん大丈夫でしょう」とのことで、道中すぐ近くの山には虹、山麓に野生の羊さんの群れ、一面に広がる雲海、雲海から顔を覗かせるマウナロアの頂、夕焼け、そして一面の星空、そしてキラウエア火山の赤い光までも楽しむことができました。
ツアー参加者全員とても素敵なメンバーで、仲良く楽しく過ごせました。
上手にプランされた、お勧めのツアーですっ！！！

In my childhood, I often looked at the stars. It was during the times when I would get scolded by my father for being mischievous. The guides who showed us around this time had a wealth of knowledge about the stars, which was wonderful. When they asked about the participants' constellations and pointed them out, I thought, "That's clever." Thank you, Yamachan. I'm already getting older. I'm okay with becoming a star anytime, but before that, I want to go on my third star observation tour. It was a day full of charm.

It became my best memory on the Big Island of Hawaii.

At first, it was cloudy, and I wasn't sure if I would be able to see the stars clearly, but it gradually cleared up!

I was able to see a beautiful sunset, and above all, the starry sky was amazing.

With the new moon, I was able to see the Milky Way and shooting stars, which was the best!

Perhaps the timing of our visit was unfortunate. The summit was shrouded in clouds. We gave up and descended to the Onizuka Visitor Center, waiting for the weather to improve, but without seeing any clear skies, we had no choice but to return home in tears. It was supposed to have a 90% chance of clear weather, so we never expected this.

Still, the guide that day did not give up until the end and tried to show us the stars. They explained the few stars we could see and made great efforts to take creative photos.

Ten years ago, I was moved by the sunset and the star-filled sky at the summit, and I really wanted to show it to my 70-year-old mother. I wanted her to know that such a wonderful place exists in the world. I would like to try again.

諦めてオニヅカビジターセンターへ降り、天候回復を待ちましたが、晴れ間が見れることもなく、泣く泣く帰るしかありませんでした。

When the shadow of the Earth rose above the summit right after sunset, it was so mystical that it gave me goosebumps. Thank you for the wonderful memories!

It's hard to see the starry sky in urban areas of Japan, but I was glad to be able to see it while being shown various constellations and the Milky Way. I was worried about getting altitude sickness at a higher elevation than Mount Fuji, but I was completely fine. The sunset over the sea of clouds was also beautiful. On the way down the mountain, I was able to see a white rainbow as well.

日本の市街地ではなかなか星空を見ることができませんが、銀河やいろんな星座を指し示してもらいながら見られて良かったです。富士山より高い標高で高山病になりはしないかと心配しましたが、全然大丈夫でした。雲海に沈む太陽も良かったです。山から下りて行く途中で白い虹も見ることができました。

It was a day close to the new moon, but thin clouds covered the sky. Still, I was able to see the Milky Way. The guides, Mr. Yamamoto and Mr. Matsuzaki, were lively in their storytelling, which allowed us to relax and enjoy the experience throughout. The thin air made it a bit tough, but I managed as long as I stayed still. The sunset was truly fiery, and I thought to myself, is this what heaven is like?

The thermal suit was great. I'm sensitive to the cold, so I wore a sweater and bought a hot pack at the Onizuka Center. Thanks to this thermal suit, I was able to observe the starry sky at a higher altitude than other tours, but on this day, the view was clearer when we descended to the Onizuka Center due to the clouds. Still, since all tours watch the sunset from the summit, I think wearing the suit was the right choice.

せっかく新月に近い日でしたが、薄い雲がかかってしまいました。それでも天の川は見えました。ガイドの山本さんと松崎さんのお話も軽快で、終始リラックスして楽しむことができました。酸素が薄くて少し辛かったですが、じっとしていればなんとかしのげました。夕焼けはまさに燃える様で、天国ってこんなところかしらと思いました。

This was my first time participating. I thought that because a front was coming in, there would be clouds both above and below, so while the sunset would be nice, I didn't expect much from the stars. However, I was quite surprised to see them clearly. Mauna Kea really does have great weather. Conversely, in Japan (I live in Osaka), the air might be so polluted that it's always cloudy.

Our guide, Matsuzaki, mentioned he was in his third year, but I was impressed by how much he had studied. He continuously provided various explanations during the drive and even lay down on the ground to take photos, showing his dedication.

【A few notes】
- You can borrow a set of thermal clothing, including a jacket. I brought a thick thermal outfit, so I ended up feeling quite bulky. Thin, warm items like Heattech underwear are preferable.
- The women's restroom at the Onizuka Center gets crowded due to bookings with other tours. You can get your bento and miso soup here, so it's best to change as early as possible.
- Since we had an early dinner, I was a bit hungry as a big eater and bought a late-night snack at a shop we stopped by on the way back. My companions are also big eaters, but perhaps due to a bit of oxygen shortage, they didn't seem to want to eat much.
- Dinner consisted of a simple bento and miso soup. Other tours had Hawaiian sushi and lasagna, as shown in the photos for reference.
- The way they took commemorative photos was quite creative, as expected. My photo lacked a bit of flash power but had a nice silhouette. It's great that we can also download the guide's photos.

I've experienced sunsets from the summits of various mountains in Japan many times, but in Hawaii, the air clarity is unmatched. Additionally, the thrill of driving up to such an elevation all at once is unique to the Big Island. You reach the top so quickly that you don't really feel the height, but it's a height that would have been a life-threatening challenge in the past. One should truly appreciate this altitude. (What was I doing back then, climbing with heavy loads in the mountain club?)

I believe the tour is worth the price alone. You can't reach the summit by rental car, and the knowledge you gain is on a different level of impact. I highly recommend a Japanese guide for those who are not confident in their English.

はじめての参加。前線が来ていたため、上空にも下層にも雲があって、夕陽にはいいが星には期待できないだろうと思っていたのに、けっこう見えて驚きました。マウナケアって、ホント天気がいい所なんですね。逆にいうと、日本（私は大阪在住）はいつでも雲の中というくらい空気が汚いのかもしれません。ガイドの松崎さんは３年目との事でしたが、色々勉強されていて感心しました。車中でも途切れずいろんな説明をされたり、地面にねころんで写真をとって下さったりして、一生懸命なのが伝わってきました。

【ちょっと一言】
・つなぎと上着セットの防寒着を貸してもらえます。
　　私は分厚い防寒着を持参したので、モコモコになっちゃいました。
　　ヒートテックの下着など、薄くて暖かいものがいいです。
・オニヅカセンターの女性用トイレは、他ツアーとブッキングするので、
　　行列になります。ここでお弁当と味噌汁をもらうのですが、
　　できるだけ早い目に着替えたほうがいいです。
・早い夕食で、大食いの私はちょっとおなかがすいて、
　　帰りに立ち寄ったお店で夜食を買いました。
　　同行者も大食いですが、ちょい酸素不足になったためか、
　　すかなかったようです。
・夕食は簡単幕の内と味噌汁。他ツアーはハワイ寿司やラザニアなどでした。
　　写真、ご参考に。
・記念写真の撮り方は、色々工夫されていて、さすがでした。
　　私の写真はフラッシュの力がちょっと不足でしたが、いいシルエット。
　　ガイドさんさんの写真もダウンロードできるので、ありがたいです。

日本の山は色々登って山頂からのサンセットは何度も体験しましたが、ハワイは空気のぼやけがない。また、これだけの海抜を車で一気に登る豪快さはハワイ島ならではです。あっというまに頂上に行ってしまうので、高さの実感がわかないのですが、昔なら命がけで挑戦した高さ。心してこの高度を味わうべきです。（山岳部で重い荷物を背負ってヒーヒー言いながら登っていたのは何だったんだ・・）

ツアーは料金だけの値打ちはあると思います。レンタカーで行っても頂上まではのぼれないし、いろんな知識を与えてもらえるので、感動のボリウムが違います。英語に自信のない方はぜひ日本語ガイドを、とオススメします。

The guide was very kind. It was really cold, and this tour company provides warm clothing for both the upper and lower body, so I think we were able to observe much warmer than those who participated in other tours (only the upper body). However, my toes were quite cold, so I think having thick socks would be good. On the day I participated, the sunset was wonderfully beautiful, but the moon was too bright, and I couldn't see the stars well. That was disappointing, so I give it a ☆-1. Other than that, I was very satisfied!!

本当に寒くて、こちらのツアー会社は防寒着を上下貸してくれるので他社のツアーに参加されていた方々よりは(上着のみ)遥かに温かく観測できたと思います。
ただ、足先もかなり冷えてるので厚手の靴下があるといいと思います。
参加した日は、夕焼けは素晴らしく美しかったけど月が明る過ぎて星はよく見えませんでした。それが残念だったので☆-1で。あとは大満足!!

My first time on the Big Island of Hawaii, and I participated alone. At first, I was anxious about being alone, but as I ran through the vast Big Island, surrounded by lava on both sides, all my worries disappeared. To acclimatize to the altitude, I took breaks about three times along the way. I encountered wild goats, donkeys, and turkeys. The lunch at the Onizuka Visitor Center, which included miso soup with green onions, was delicious. Here, I put on warm clothing and aimed for an even higher point. I took breaks a couple of times during this part, so I was fine regarding altitude sickness, which I had worried about. At the summit, a magnificent sunset awaited me above the sea of clouds. Perhaps because I was so captivated by the view, I didn't feel the cold. After that, we enjoyed stargazing. I could see the Milky Way, artificial satellites, the red crater of Halemaʻumaʻu, and the lights of Hilo. The photo taken with the Milky Way and the starry sky is a treasure for life. The guide also explained a lot about the charms of the Big Island, the stars, and constellations. The other participants in the tour were friendly, and I was able to have various conversations, making for a fun time. I was completely enchanted by the allure of the Big Island. Thank you for the wonderful memories!

初めてのハワイ島、一人での参加でした。
一人参加なので、最初は不安でしたが、右も左も溶岩だらけの、広いハワイ島を走っていると、そんな不安も一気に吹き飛びました。
高度に慣らすため、途中で３回程休憩しました。
野生のヤギ、ロバ、七面鳥に会えました。
オニヅカビジターセンターでのお弁当に、ネギのお味噌汁、おいしかったです。
ここで防寒着を着て、更に上を目指します。この途中でも２回程休憩を取ったので、心配していた高山病は大丈夫でした。
山頂では雲海を下に、素晴らしいサンセットが待っていました。その光景に夢中になっていたからか、寒さは感じませんでした。
その後は星空鑑賞。天の川に人工衛星、ハレマウマウの赤い火口、ヒロの街明かりまで見えました。
天の川と満天の星空と一緒に撮っていただいた写真は、一生の宝物です。
ガイドさんもハワイ島や星の魅力、星座をたくさん説明してくれました。
ご一緒したツアーの方も気さくな方で、色々お話ができて、楽しい時間を過ごすことができました。
ハワイ島の魅力に、一気に取り憑かれました。

This time, I went to Hawaii for the first time. When you think of Hawaii, you think of Oahu, but my goal was to see the starry sky, so I stayed on the Big Island for five days. I planned my trip over two months in advance, choosing a new moon day, and signed up for the "Mauna Kea Summit Sunset & Stargazing Tour <Reflecting Telescope> by Masashi Nature School."

To prevent participants from getting altitude sickness, we took several breaks while driving up Mauna Kea and enjoyed a lunch box made by an American, complete with miso soup, at the Onizuka Center.

Once we exceeded 3000 meters, we were warned that sleeping was prohibited, and off we went to the summit!

At the summit, we were lent warm clothing, resulting in a strange orange army look. It seems that other tours also offer warm clothing rentals, but this tour is the only one that provides both top and bottom! Fortunately, the day I participated wasn't extremely cold, so I found the temperature quite comfortable, but my wife, who is sensitive to the cold, was fully equipped with Heattech, patches, and disposable hand warmers in front and back. Warm clothing is essential in extreme cold.

At the summit, we watched the sunset above the clouds, and it was incredibly beautiful and moving! However, at over 4000 meters, the air is thin, and I felt dizzy; just moving a little made me out of breath! After that, we did stargazing! The moment we got out of the car, I was amazed by the starry sky. I'm so glad I participated on a new moon!

The constellation lecture by guides Mr. Yamamoto and Mr. Matsuzaki, along with their explanations using a powerful laser pointer, was very interesting, and I was thrilled to take commemorative photos with the constellations in the background!

Additionally, they carefully taught us how to photograph constellations with a DSLR camera, including shutter speed and aperture, allowing us to take many memorable photos of the constellations. Thank you! (A tripod is essential for constellation photography!)

Moreover, those photos can be downloaded from the Nature School's blog, making for great keepsakes.

I would like to recommend this tour to acquaintances who are going to the Big Island.

今回、初めてハワイに行きました。ハワイと言えばオアフ島ですが私の目的は満天の星空を見てみたいでしたのでハワイ島のみ５日間滞在しました。２ヶ月以上前から新月の日を選び旅行計画を立てオプショナルツアーを「マウナケア山頂サンセット＆星空観測ツアー＜反射望遠鏡＞ by マサシネイチャースクール」に申し込みました。

参加者が高山病にならないように車でマウナケアに登る途中数度休憩をしてオニズカセンターでアメリカ人の作ったお弁当・みそ汁付をいただきました。

3000mを超したら居眠り禁止ですと注意事項を受けいざ山頂へ！

山頂で防寒着か貸し出して頂き変なオレンジ軍団の出来上がりでした。このツアー以外も防寒具の貸し出しがあるみたいですが、上下を貸し出して頂けるのはこのツアーだけみたい！
偶然参加した日は極寒ではなかったので私はちょうど快適な気温でしたが、寒さに弱い妻は、ヒートテック・パッチ・前後に使い捨てカイロで完全防備でした。
極寒の時は防寒具上下必需品ですね。

山頂でサンセットを雲上から見て、とても綺麗で感動的！
でも、やはり4000m越では空気が薄く頭がクラクラして少し動くだけでゼイゼイしますよ！
その後、天体観測！車降りた瞬間満天の星ビックリしました。新月に参加して良かったな～！
ガイドの山本さんと松崎さんの星座講座、強力レーザーポインターでの星座の説明はとても面白く同時に星座をバックに記念写真まで撮っていただき感激！

合わせて、一眼レフカメラの星座の撮影の仕方およびシャッタースピードや絞りまで丁寧に教えて頂き記念になる星座の写真を何枚も撮影することができました。ありがとうございます。（星座撮影には、三脚は必需品ですよ！）

また、その写真は、ネイチャースクールのブログ内よりダウンロードでき記念写真を何枚のダウンロードでき記念になりますよ。

知り合いがハワイ島に行く時には、このツアーを薦めたいと思います。

I went on September 9th. Thanks to our guide Yamamoto's engaging talk, the car ride was enjoyable! While other tour participants looked cold at the summit, we were perfectly warm in our ski suits! We were able to fully enjoy the sunset and starry sky! Thank you for kindly answering our questions about recommended souvenirs as well. I would love to participate again in a different season.

It's been four years since my last trip to Hawaii, and this was my first time on the Big Island! I only knew about "Kilauea," so I spent months reading guidebooks and websites to plan my trip. My style is to create the best original plan and explore efficiently and freely by rental car. However, I was worried about the unpaved roads to "Mauna Kea," so I looked for a tour.

I found the "Mauna Kea Summit Sunset & Stargazing Tour <Reflecting Telescope> by Masashi Nature School." I was attracted by the very reasonable pricing, the Japanese-speaking tour, and the high ratings in reviews.

Our guide, Mr. Yamamoto, was kind and fun. He had a wealth of knowledge, and I found the stories about constellations, which I usually don't pay much attention to, very interesting. The interactions with my junior, Mr. Konno, were also entertaining. It's no surprise that there were several repeat customers.

The "Japanese bento made by Americans" we had at the Onizuka Center (as mentioned by Yamamoto) was also very delicious! I was happy that the "miso soup" made by other tour participants was homemade instead of instant.

The big jump over a 4,000-meter mountain felt like I accomplished something truly amazing, and it became a memorable experience.

Speaking of memories, I have a special one! The day before, I went to Kilauea by rental car and enjoyed the night view of the crater from the Jaggar Museum overlook. While I was there, an unfamiliar foreigner approached me and handed me an iPhone. They were confused about what to do with a found iPhone that was made in Japan. When I called the top contact, it turned out to be "Masashi Nature School Office"! Huh? I've heard that name before…!!! It's the tour I was scheduled to join the next day! What a coincidence! The following day, I was able to return it safely in exchange for a lovely souvenir.

Next time, I want to go with my family. Thank you again!

　４年ぶりのハワイ。初めてのハワイ島！　「キラウエア」くらいしか知らなかったので、何か月も前から、ガイドブックとWebサイトを熟読？してプランを練りました。オリジナルのベストプランを作り、レンタカーで効率よく＆気ままに回るのが私流でした。でも、「マウナケア」は途中の道路が整備されていないことが心配だったので、ツアーを探しました。
　そして見つけたのが、「マウナケア山頂サンセット＆星空観測ツアー＜反射望遠鏡＞ by マサシネイチャースクール」です。とてもリーズナブルな料金設定と日本語ツアー、口コミ情報の評価の高さに惹かれました。
　ガイドの山本さんは、親切で楽しい方。いろいろな知識も豊富で、普段あまり関心の持てない星座のお話もとても興味深く聞くことができました。後輩の紺野さんとのやり取りも面白かったです。リピーターも何組かいらっしゃったのもうなずけます。
　オニヅカセンターでいただいた「アメリカ人が作ったジャパニーズ弁当」（山本：話）もとてもおいしかった！　ほかのツアーの方たちがインスタントで作っている「お味噌汁」が手作りだったのも嬉しかったです。
　４０００メートル級の山を飛び越える大ジャンプ！も、なんだか本当にすごいことをやってのけた感じがして、思い出になりました。
　思い出といえば、私には特別な思い出も！　前日、レンタカーでキラウエアに行き、ジャガー博物館展望台で火口の夜景を楽しんでいたところ…。見知らぬ外国人に声をかけられ、iphoneを渡されました。拾ったiphoneが日本製でどうしたらよいか、困っているとのこと。連絡先の一番上にかけてみると、そこは「マサシのネイチャースクール　事務所」！　ん？　聞いたことがあるぞ…？　！！！明日参加予定のツアーだ！　なんという偶然！　翌日、素敵なお土産と引き換えに？無事お返しすることができました。
　今度は家族で行きたいと思っています。またよろしくお願いいたします。

The weather on the day of the tour was really nice, and the starry sky was perfectly visible! The explanations of the constellations were very easy to understand, and the guide was lively and fun. The silhouette photos of the sunset were also very beautiful. It was impressive to see the red glow of Kilauea Volcano during the stargazing, and being able to download the photos taken later was one of the reasons for my great satisfaction.
