This is a 5-hour activity.
The day before, I received a notification that the meeting time would be 2 hours earlier than planned due to bad weather. It was helpful to get this notice, as sometimes there is no communication about time changes.
The activity involves going out to sea on an engine-powered rubber boat. The boat jumps over the waves, which adds quite a thrill and makes it enjoyable.
(Safety measures are in place, so there's no risk of falling into the sea.)
During this time of year, we encountered dolphins and whales, and the boat stopped each time we spotted them. We saw schools of dolphins multiple times and witnessed whale jumps as well. Since I was considering a dolphin and whale watching tour, I felt it was a great deal. We also got to see the Big Island from the sea and got close to the lava cliffs, with the guide providing information, making the trip to the snorkeling spot very satisfying.
The main part of the tour, snorkeling, took about 2 hours in a calm cove. The waves were gentle, and the water was clear, allowing us to see corals, tropical fish, and small turtles swimming. Just floating was pleasant, and they provided boards to help with floating. They also prepared sandwiches, fruits, snacks, and drinks, so if you get tired, you can take a break on the boat with some light refreshments.
The other participants in the tour were mostly international travelers, aside from my friend and me, but we had no issues and enjoyed ourselves. It seems that many Japanese tourists also participate, and the guide spoke to us in Japanese that he knew.
The weather was not very good, with the sun coming out and then clouding over, so sunscreen was not absolutely necessary, but I think sunscreen, a hat, and sunglasses are essential for the tour.
After the activity, we could enjoy delicious seafood at a restaurant near the harbor, which also increased our satisfaction.
It was a packed and enjoyable experience. I think this is a tour I can recommend.

時期的にイルカやクジラに遭遇し、その度に船を止めてくれました。イルカの群れも何度も見ましたし、クジラのジャンプも何度の目にすることができました。イルカやクジラをウォッチするツアーも検討していたので、すごくお得感を感じました。また海からのハワイ島も見ることができ、溶岩の岸壁にも近づいてくれガイドをしてくれますので、シュノーケリング場所へ行くまでも大満足です。
ツアーのメインであるシュノーケリングも、波の穏やかな入江で2時間ほどの時間を取ってもらえます。波が穏やかで水の透明度も良く、サンゴ、熱帯魚、小さな亀が泳いでいるのを見ることができます。浮いているだけでも気持ち良く、浮く為のボードなども貸してくれます。サンドウィッチ、フルーツ、スナック、ドリンクを用意してくれているので、疲れれば軽食と一緒にボートで休むこともできます。
ツアーの参加者は、友人と私以外は皆海外の方でしたが、問題なく楽しく過ごすことができます。日本人ツアーも多く参加しているようで、ガイドさんも知ってる日本語で話しかけてくれたりしました。
太陽が出たり、曇ったりと天候があまり良くなかったので日焼け止めを必須ではありませんでしたが、ツアーには日焼け止め、帽子、サングラスは必要だと思います。
アクティビティ後は、ハーバー周辺のレストランで美味しい魚介類も食べることができ、これも満足度をアップさせてくれます。
盛りだくさんで、楽しめました。お薦めできるツアーだと思います。

To start, the water was pretty rough, they should have considered canceling. Of the 7 people in our group, 2 got sick. We were unable to go ashore at all because the ocean was so rough, and with my parents in the group there was no way they could get back in the kayak from the water if they were to have gotten out to snorkel. All we did was paddle out to the sea caves, which we couldn't enter due to rough water, and paddle back. It was a short, disappointing trip. They did offer for us to take rental kayaks out later in the week, however that didn't fit into our schedule.

This tour started out great. Once we were into the waters, we were told we won't be able to snorkel or go into the caves due to the water being to choppy.. So I guess it depends when you do this tour, out of the whole tour we accomplished maybe 2 hours before heading back. I probably will not do this tour again..

I parked at what seemed to be a nearby parking lot and changed there.
We were the only participants from Japan. We rode on a rubber boat and listened to the guide and captain's stories while we sped across the sea. I could only understand about half of what was said. The boat was fast, and there was no rocking that made me feel seasick. When we reached the snorkeling point, we spotted dolphins and whales along the way and quietly approached to observe them. We were able to see many dolphins and whales. For those who have experience snorkeling in various places, this was somewhat lacking. The visibility was poor, and there were few types of fish, so I felt like I wasted the one hour of snorkeling time. Since it was snorkeling in a cove-like area, it might be suitable for those who are not used to it. As for the caves, just going nearby was disappointing. In any case, if it's a tour to see dolphins and whales by speedboat, I think I could recommend it for around $50.

参加者は、我々のみが日本からでした。ゴムボートに乗りガイド兼船長のお話を聞きながら、ひたすら海上を走ります。お話は半分くらいしか理解できませんでした。船のスピードが速く、船酔いするような揺れはありませんでした。シュノーケルポイントまで行くと途中で、イルカやクジラを見つけてそっと近くによって眺めていました。イルカ、クジラはたくさん見ることができました。シュノーケリングは、いろいろなところで経験している人にとっては、いまいちです。透明度はなく、魚の種類も少なく、1時間のシュノーケリング時間をもてあましました。入り江のようなところでのシュノーケリングなので、慣れていない人には適当かもしれません。洞窟に関しては、ただ近くに行ってみるだけで、期待外れでした。とにかく、スピードボートに乗ってイルカ・クジラを見るツアーとしてであれば、50ドルくらいだったらおすすめできると思います。

I stayed in Hilo, and I participated on this tour on the way to Waipio. It's only 20min drive from Hilo, and the place was beautiful. I loved the casual walk in the natural rain forest, and it was like being in the Jurassic Park movie. The waterfall was secluded and awesome. I'd recommend this to anyone and especially the ones with small kids.

I did this tour on my 60th birthday. It was the best experience of my life! The helicopter pilot, Marko, was knowledgeable as well as entertaining. We saw the amazingly varied terrain of the Big Island but the best was seeing the Kilauea Caldera and lava pool as well as places where the lava was slowing flowing. The Kohala area was unbelievably beautiful. A bonus - the great coffee made by Marko at the midway stop. I would highly recommend this tour especially if your time in Hawaii is limited and you want to see it all in comfort.

4 of us flew from oahu for this helicopter flight. You need to check what is happening with the volcano first as we were expecting to see some sort of action. The flow had obviously been active for sometime recently but what we saw was not what we were lead to believe was happening. Flight was good but dont take any notice of the pictures in advertising as they are deceptive. I k now this is a nature based activity and the company has no control over the volcano,but to over promise and under deliver is allways a recipe for disaster. The pilot Tim was excellent but the ground crew organinzation was lacking.Had us stand around in the sun for 30 minutes while they organised 5 flights at the same time.So dont expect to leave on the timeyou have booked,doesnt work that way.We hired a car and went to Volcano national park,fantastic and highly recommend that instead of this trip at only a fraction of the cost.The couple we shared with whilst disappointed could not speak more highly of the Maui trip they had with this company, so maybe consider that option

As everyone mentioned, the sunset was magical and wonderful. Additionally, we were lucky that it coincided with the new moon, so the stars were truly beautiful. We could see artificial satellites, shooting stars, and even the distant Kilauea volcano's crater glowing red in the darkness! I'm really glad I participated! In Masashi's tour, the bento provided was not in the usual takeout containers but in a traditional layered box, and instead of disposable chopsticks, we had real ones, and the miso soup was served in a bowl, which showed great thoughtfulness. Also, our guide, Konno, took some stylish photos that became wonderful keepsakes. Thank you!

It was my first time reaching the summit in February, and the conditions for stargazing were perfect, so I was blessed with great timing and weather.
The travel time is long, but Stefan's entertaining talk makes the journey enjoyable.
Stargazing, one of my goals on the Big Island... it's something you should see at least once in your lifetime!

It was my first time in Hawaii, and since there was no Japanese-speaking guide on the tour, I was initially anxious. However, all the participants were fun people, and I had a great time! From the reception, I couldn't communicate in Japanese, but a very pleasant woman explained things using gestures. After checking in, I used the restroom, applied sunscreen, and waited until it was time for the tour. If you don't apply sunscreen here, you could end up with a bad sunburn after about seven hours. We boarded the rubber boat and headed out to see dolphins. We encountered many that day, and they were so cute as they chased after the boat! From there, we went to the snorkeling point. It was my first time snorkeling, but I was able to enjoy it thanks to the Japanese instructions provided. Along the way, we were served soft drinks, snacks, sandwiches, and fruits. The weather was great, making it even more special. On our way back, we were lucky enough to encounter a whale!!! It seems that this doesn't happen very often! It was a fun day spent with cheerful people.

On the day of my arrival in Hawaii, I was feeling jet-lagged and didn't have the energy to move around, so I decided to stay at the King Kamehameha Hotel. At first, it was enjoyable, but as the evening progressed, it got a bit chilly for the beach show, and the food was just average. I started to get bored with the show. The dancing was beautiful, but the time spent listening to the host talk while the dancers changed backstage was very dull. I guess it really is a language barrier...

On the day of our arrival, we booked a manta ray tour and were so impressed that we immediately requested a dolphin tour for the next day. Our guide, Daisuke, had a wonderful love for dolphins, and I was completely immersed in that world. I want to swim with the dolphins just like Daisuke does!

When I go back to the Big Island, I will definitely ask for your services again.

It's been six months, but I still can't forget that amazing experience.

My husband wasn't too excited about coming to Hawaii but his one request was to fly in a helicopter to see the volcanos. His choice was the open door option. Neither having been in a helicopter before I at least had some trepidations. It was a blast! Our pilot, Rhys, a Kiwi, was very knowledgeable and a good pilot. Thank you!
And yes, you can feel the heat from the lava. Good times!

Amazing creatures. Definitely a must see activity if you are in Hawaii during the right time of year. I liked the fact that this tour allowed to you return until you actually see whales. I was fortunate to see my first time out, but nice to know I could have returned if I needed to without additional expense.

Definitely do this during your holiday! The sunset and scenery at Mauna Kea is out-of-this-world and impressive. The stargazing afterwards is fun, as well as amazing to see so many stars so brightly.
The tour was excellent too, with well-informed guides and an un-rushed feel. Dinner was decent too.

I participated in a tour called "Ocean Rafting & Lava Cave Adventure with Snorkeling at Kealakekua Bay" by Captain Zodiac.

Overview of the activity:
First, we boarded a rubber boat and headed out to sea. Despite being a lightweight rubber boat, it had two engines, so it was quite fast. The day was a bit windy with high waves, and we were told we might bounce around, but it was better than I had imagined. Shortly after setting off, we encountered a pod of dolphins. The dolphins, being curious, approached the boat and swam alongside us. We had time to take photos, and I managed to capture many pictures of the dolphins. As we continued, we encountered a whale next. Although the whale was cautious and we couldn't get too close, we were thrilled to see it breach!

At this point, I was already quite satisfied, but the boat continued to a calm cove where we enjoyed snorkeling. We had over an hour for snorkeling, which was fantastic. The water was clear, and there were plenty of corals, so we saw many tropical fish. After lunch, we returned to the port, and along the way, the guide showed us various sightseeing spots that could only be seen from the sea, including the site where the fire goddess Pele is said to have descended.

Positive points:
For the price, the activities were abundant, and I was very satisfied. Dolphin watching, whale watching, and snorkeling all in one tour is a great deal! The guides and the captain were very friendly, making for a fun time. The other passengers were also nice, which added to the enjoyment. Additionally, for water protection, they provided a large container for our mobile cameras. If you ask, they will take it out for you as many times as needed. They also kept our bags in a place where they wouldn't get wet, so there was no need to worry.

Negative points:
The tour is primarily in English. The guides and captain can speak a little Japanese, but since all the other passengers were English speakers, the main language was English. They can speak some basic Japanese, but communication might be difficult. My husband and I have studied abroad, so we had no issues with English, and we were very satisfied with the tour, but it might be tough for those who are not comfortable with English (I don't think this was mentioned on the website. Even if it was, it wasn't emphasized, so many might overlook it). Also, this tour is not suitable for those who get seasick. The boat is small, accommodating about ten people, so while it's fine when moving, it can sway a lot when stationary, which might be tough for those prone to seasickness. Taking motion sickness medication is essential.

Furthermore, although the tour title mentioned a lava cave adventure, we did not visit a lava cave. Also, since the boat has no roof, don't forget sunscreen and sunglasses. They provide an explanation at the beginning, but it's in English.

Overall, I am very satisfied. I recommend it for those who are okay with English (even if you don't understand everything, it's fine), but I cannot recommend it for those who absolutely need Japanese. Considering the price, it is a great value tour. I would definitely recommend this activity to my friends.

アクティビティーの概要。
先ずはゴムボートに乗って海に出ました。船体は軽いゴムボートなのにエンジンが二個付いてるのでスピードはかなり出ます。
当日は風が強めで波は高いので跳ねるかもと言われていましたが、想像してたよりは大丈夫でした。
船を走らせて直ぐにイルカの群れに遭遇しました。
イルカは好奇心旺盛なので船に近づいてくれて並走してくれました。
ゆっくりと写真を撮る時間を設けてもらえ沢山のイルカの写真を撮れました。
また、さらに船を走らせてると次はクジラに遭遇しました。
クジラは警戒心が強いのか近くで見ることはできませんでしたが、ブリーチを見ることができて迫力満点で興奮しました！
これの時点で、かなり満足していましたが、船はさらに走り、波の穏やかな入江に行きシュノーケリングを堪能しました。
時間も1時間以上取ってもらえたので大満足です。
水の透明度は良くて珊瑚もたくさんあるので熱帯魚も多く見れました。
その後昼食を取り港に戻ったのですが途中に岸壁にある火の女神ペレが降臨したという場所やその他沢山の海からしか見れない観光スポットを案内してくれました。
良かった点。
値段の割にアクティビティーが盛りだくさんで大満足です。
イルカウォッチング、ホエールウォッチング、シュノーケリング。
単発のツアーもありますがこの値段で全てを網羅できるのはお値打ちです！
またガイドさん、船長さんも凄く気さくな方で楽しい時間でした。また同船者もいい方ばかりでとても楽しかったです。
また、水対策として、携帯カメラは大きいタッパに入れてくれます。
必要な時に伝えれば何度でも出してくれます。バッグも水のかからない場所に置いてくれるので心配ないです。
悪かった点。
基本、英語のみのツアーです。ガイドさん、船長さんも若干日本語を話せますが同船者が皆英語なので基本英語です。片言、単語レベルで日本語を話してくれますがコミュニケーションはとれません。
私たち夫婦は留学経験もあるので英語は問題なく、ツアー自体は大満足ですが、英語が苦手な方は少し辛いかもしれません。（ホームページにも書かれてなかったと思います。書いてあったとしても全面に出てないので見逃す方が多いと思います。）
あと、船酔いをする人には向きません。ボートが10人乗りぐらいの小さなものなので走ってる間はいいのですが停泊中は大きく揺れるので船酔いのきつい人は辛いかもしれません。酔い止めは必須です。
あと、ツアータイトルに溶岩洞窟アドベンチャーとありましたが溶岩洞窟は行きませんでした。
また、船に屋根が無いので日焼け止めやサングラスセットもお忘れなく。
最初に説明はされますが英語です。
総合評価は大満足です。しかし、英語でも大丈夫（分からなくても気にしない）という方にはお勧めですが絶対日本語じゃなきゃだめという人にはお勧めできません。
それを差し引いても値段面を考慮するとお値打ちなツアーなのではないでしょうか。
私は友人に是非とも勧めたいアクティビティーです。

On the day of the tour, the weather was clear with a blue sky, but unfortunately, we couldn't reach the summit due to strong winds. However, we were able to see a beautiful sunset just below the Mauna Kea Visitor Center, and later, we enjoyed stargazing until the moon rose. Despite the challenging conditions of strong winds and the bright moon making it hard to see the stars, it was wonderful to look up at the night sky with the other participants, listen to interesting explanations, and enjoy warm tea and biscuits. Although it was disappointing not to reach the summit of Mauna Kea, I had a fantastic time and created lovely memories!

ツアー当日、天気は晴れで青空も広がっていたけれど、山頂が強風で残念ながら登ることができませんでした。しかし、オニヅカビジターズセンターの少し下あたりで綺麗な夕日をみて、その後月が上がるまで星空を見ることができました。強風だけじゃなく、月が明るくて星が見えずらいという悪条件が重なったものの、星空をツアーの参加者の方々と見上げて、面白い説明を聞いて、暖かい紅茶を飲んだりビスケットを食べたりと、最高でした。マウナケア山頂に登れなかったのは残念でしたが、非常に楽しめましたし、素敵な思い出になりました！

I was a little leary about swimming with Manta Rays at night in the ocean....but I knew I would regret not doing it. WHAT an experience!! The highlight of our trip. It was amazing to float on the water with those gigantic rays swimming literally inches from your body. I would highly recommend this to anyone!

I participated with my wife and our middle school son, and we were extremely satisfied with the tour as we were able to see not only dolphins but also the whales we had dreamed of.

Since we were dealing with wild dolphins, we first had to search for them, but right after departing, we quickly spotted a pod of dolphins. Our excitement was palpable. Captain Nawata and Daisuke, who was in charge of snorkeling, accurately assessed the points and, following their signals, we entered the water to find an unexpected number of dolphins right in front of us. They didn’t forcefully approach the dolphins; instead, they read their movements and positioned the boat where the dolphins were likely to pass. We were able to see over 100 dolphins up close. At times, they swam joyfully just 1 or 2 meters away from us, which was an incredible experience.

This time of year is suitable for whale watching, and while searching for dolphins, we also got to see whales spouting quite close by. Whales are strictly protected, so we couldn’t approach them, but again, the professionals did a great job. We were able to see the whales up close. The highlight was hearing the sounds of the whales while snorkeling. It was such a lovely sound!

There seem to be similar tours available, but I’ve heard that some groups have poor manners, and on the day of our tour, the Coast Guard was conducting inspections. Aloha Kona Tours, the company we participated with, gave the impression of having a solid policy and experience in this regard, which made us feel very safe and able to enjoy ourselves.

However, my son had a tough time with seasickness. Fortunately, there were no other groups that day, so they were able to take breaks according to my son's condition, which helped him recover. I think it’s best for those who are prone to seasickness to take medication beforehand. My son looked quite uncomfortable, but he managed to hang in there until the end thanks to the sight of the dolphins and whales and the warm support from the staff.

We would definitely love to participate again.

妻と中二の息子と３人で参加しましたが、イルカだけでなく夢だったクジラも見ることができ、とにかく大満足のツアーでした。

相手は野生のイルカですので、まずどこにいるのかを探すことになりますが、出港直後すぐにイルカの群れを発見。期待がいやがおうにも盛り上がります。ツアーに同行してくれたキャプテンの縄田さん、シュノーケリングを担当するダイスケさんが的確にポイントを判断し、合図に合わせて海に入ると想像以上のイルカたちの群れが目の前に。決して無理やりイルカに近づくのではなく、彼らの動きを読んであらかじめ彼らが通ると思われる位置に船を止め、海に入ったところをイルカたちが通過していくのですが、やはりプロですね。合計100頭以上のイルカたちを間近に見ることができました。近い時は1、2mという距離まで近いところを楽しげに泳いでいくイルカたち、最高の経験でした。

この時期はホエールウオッチングに適した時期ということもあり、イルカを探す間にもかなり近くでクジラが潮を吹く姿が観れました。クジラも厳しく保護されていますので、こちらからクジラに近づくことはできないのですが、やはりプロですね。かなり近くでクジラを見ることができました。圧巻だったのはシュノーケリングの時にクジラの声が聞こえたことです。すごく愛おしい声でしたよ！

同じようなツアーは他にもあるようですがマナーが悪い団体もあるらしく、当日もCoast Guardが取り締まりを行っていました。今回参加したAloha kona Toursさんは、その点しっかりとしたポリシーと経験をお持ちという印象で、とても安心して楽しめました。

ただ、息子が船酔いで大変でした。今回は幸い他のグループがいなかったので、息子の状況に合わせて途中で休憩をとっていただけたので持ち直しましたが、酔いやすい方はやはり酔い止めを飲んでいかれた方がよいと思います。息子もかなり辛そうでしたが、イルカやクジラの姿とスタッフの方々の温かい対応で最後まで頑張ることができました。

また是非、参加させていただきます。

Two years ago, I was so moved during my first participation that I wanted to meet the dolphins again, so this is my second time.

This time, they mentioned that the waves were rolling and the sea's transparency wasn't great, so if we could see the dolphins at all, it meant they were quite close. However... it was incredible! There were so many dolphins, and they were super close. They are just so cute... it was the best.

It seemed like the dolphins were enjoying themselves, as if they understood our guide, Daisuke. The photos he took of us from underwater turned out beautifully, and I was really touched.

Last time was in October, but this time in January, we also had the chance to see whales, and even though they were far away, we did spot some... Thank you to Captain Nawata for searching so hard for them.

I will definitely go back to be healed again. Of course, I will also go to see the manta rays.

２年前の初参加で感動して、またイルカちゃんに会いたくて２回目の参加です。

今回は、波がうねっているということで、海の透明度がいまいちなのでイルカちゃんの姿が少しでも見えたらかなり近くにいると思ってくださいね。ということでしたが・・・
とんでもない、めちゃめちゃ近くにたくさんのイルカちゃん。やっぱりかわい～・・・最高です。

ガイドのダイスケ君のことをわかっているようで、イルカちゃんも楽しんでいるようでしたよ。海の中からダイスケ君が撮ってくれた私たちの写真も素敵に撮れていて感動です。

前回は１０月でしたが今回は１月でクジラちゃんに会うこともあるということで、遠くでしたがクジラちゃんの姿も・・・キャプテンの縄田さん一生懸命探してくださってありがとうございました。

また癒されに行きます。もちろんマンタちゃんにも会いに行きます。

I highly recommend the tour of the botanical garden. I opted for the in-person tour and it was well worth the cost. I got a private tour, with far more information than just being told about the plants. "Doc" was very knowledgeable about the plants and their origins. I learned a great deal and got to taste and smell many different varieties. As an added plus, your admission lets you come back for a week and walk around, see the waterfall, picnic, etc.

Although we received a notification that the meeting place had changed, our Wi-Fi router ran out of battery on the way, and we couldn't arrive on time. Feeling quite upset, we were lucky enough to meet a staff member who happened to be there after the boat had already departed, and they helped us rebook for the next day. We were not charged any fees and received kind assistance, which was a relief.

The next day, our group consisted of my husband and me, along with an American family of six, including elementary and middle school children. We set off together. The boat moved at quite a speed, jumping over the waves, and my husband, who easily gets seasick, didn't have time to feel nauseous (laughs). I think the distance was long. As someone who loves roller coasters, I found it exhilarating.

The waters of Kealakekua Bay were filled with beautiful tropical fish, and dolphins swam close by, which made for a very satisfying experience. We also had time to enjoy snacks and drinks on the boat, and the captain's light jokes created a friendly atmosphere. During this time, I was a bit worried about my husband's seasickness due to the boat's rocking, but fortunately, he didn't get sick.

On the way back, we visited various caves, but we didn't go inside; instead, we got close enough to see the rock faces and areas worn away by the waves. However, seeing the grandeur of the Big Island from the sea was exceptional, and I believe it was a wonderful experience.

集合場所が変更になった連絡をもらっていたものの、途中Wifiルーターの充電が切れ、迷って集合時間に到着できなかった私達・・。泣きが入る気分でいると、運よく船が出港後に、たまたま居たスタッフの方と出会えた為、翌日に再予約を入れてもらえることになりました。手数料も取られず、親切に対応してもらえて、助かりました。
翌日は、私達夫婦と、小学生と中学生位の子供のいるアメリカ人ファミリー計６人で乗り合って出港。かなりのスピードで海原をジャンピングしながら進む船に、船酔いしやすい主人も、酔う暇がない位（笑）距離も長かったと思います。ジェットコースターが大好きな私は、気持ち良かったです。
ケアラケクア湾の海は、きれいな熱帯魚があちこちに沢山いて、ちょうどイルカもすぐ近くまで泳いできたりと、大満足でした。船の上で、スナックやジュースを飲食する時間もありました。船長の軽いジョークになごやかな雰囲気。この時間の方が、船の揺れを感じて主人の船酔いを心配した感じです。（でも酔わずに済みました）
帰りはあちこちの洞窟？をまわってくれましたが、洞窟の中にはいるのではなく、目の前まで
いって岩肌や波で削られた場所を間近にみるというものでした・・。
でも、海側からみるハワイ島の雄大さも格別で、とても良い体験ができたと思っています。
