We participated as two women.
We were the only Japanese participants, and although we couldn't speak Japanese, the staff's thoughtfulness and cheerfulness made us feel completely at ease and allowed us to enjoy ourselves.

The cruise to the snorkeling point offered a view of the Big Island from the sea, allowing us to see a different side of Hawaii. We were lucky enough to encounter a pod of dolphins!

The snorkeling experience was incredibly satisfying with the beautiful Hawaiian sea and fish! Even those who are not confident swimmers can borrow floatation devices, so there’s no need to worry.

The parking lot designated from the Hilton Hotel where we stayed was quite a distance away, but the traffic flowed smoothly, and we arrived without getting lost and with plenty of time to spare. After checking in at the counter, we enjoyed some delicious coffee that was prepared while we waited for departure.

Once we set sail, we moved along the blue sea (at quite a speed!) next to the lava fields. There were just over ten participants, and only two groups were Japanese, including us. When we arrived at the spot, the guide explained the swimming area, and everyone entered the water at their leisure.

My English is at a middle school level, but the guide explained things with gestures, so there were no problems. It was my first time snorkeling, and although I was a bit scared in the very clear water, I quickly became captivated by the colorful, beautiful fish, and time flew by.

After swimming at two spots, we enjoyed BBQ hamburgers grilled on the boat, which left us both satisfied in our stomachs and hearts. We also visited several sightseeing spots and took lots of photos. The restroom on the boat was spacious and clean, making it easy to change into our swimsuits, which I personally appreciated. This is a great tour where you can see various aspects of the Big Island in just a few hours. I would love to participate again when I go back to Hawaii!

出航すると溶岩大地と並走するように碧い海を（結構なスピードで!）進んで行きました。参加者は１０人ちょっとくらいで、日本人は私達入れて２組だけでした。スポットに着くと添乗員が泳ぐ範囲などの説明をして、各々好きな時に海に入って行きました。
私の英語は中学生レベルですが、添乗員の方がジェスチャーを交えて説明してくれたので問題ありませんでした。
初めてのシュノーケルで、しかもかなり透明感が高い海で怖さも少しありましたが、すぐに色とりどりの綺麗な魚に見入ってあっという間に時間は過ぎていきました。
２ヶ所のスポットで泳いだ後に船上で焼いたBBQのハンバーガーを頂き、お腹も心も大満足でした。
観光スポットにもいくつか回り、写真もたくさん撮れました。船上のトイレは広くて清潔感があり、水着の着替えをしやすかったのが個人的には嬉しかったです。数時間でいろいろなハワイ島の姿が見られるお得なツアーです。またハワイに行ったら参加したいです！！

Since it was a trip using a rental car, I had no trouble with transportation or exploring places. However, the meeting point at Keauhou Bay is located deep down a road, so it's advisable for first-timers to check a map in advance.

As for the English tour, there was absolutely no need to worry, as everyone pointed out. All the staff were friendly and spoke slowly and clearly, making it easy for me, who isn't very good at English, to understand even the jokes. They prepared the snorkeling gear before we boarded, and then we set sail.

At the designated spots, we were able to swim freely over the coral reefs in two bays suitable for snorkeling. The water clarity was high, probably around 30 meters. I was able to see various tropical fish, including butterfly fish. I had hoped to encounter sea turtles based on prior information, but unfortunately, that dream didn't come true. However, I did have an encounter with a large octopus about a meter long.

For lunch, we enjoyed freshly made big hamburgers and fruits, and I relaxed on the deck while sunbathing. The waves were gentle, so I don't think there was much worry about seasickness. Additionally, there is an option for a diving tour, but even just snorkeling and skin diving were thoroughly enjoyable.

On the return cruise, we were guided past the Captain Cook monument and the coffee belt area of Kona, as well as the nearby Pu'uhonua o Honaunau National Historical Park, allowing us to enjoy a bit of sightseeing of the Big Island from the sea. The English during that time was at a natural speed, and I could only grasp the content vaguely. It might be good to prepare in advance.

Most impressively, we were able to encounter wild dolphins and even saw dolphin jumps. It became a beautiful and joyful memory.

This is a highly recommended tour where you can fully enjoy the nature of the Big Island. However, when the weather is nice, don't forget to take measures against UV rays.

案内された目的地では、シュノーケリングに適した湾に２箇所ほどで思う存分サンゴ礁の上を泳ぐことができました。透明度も高く３０ｍほどはあったと思います。バタフライフィッシュをはじめ熱帯地区特有の様々な魚を観る事ができました。事前情報から海亀と出会えることを期待してましたが、残念ながら夢かなわず…。しかしながら、１ｍほどの大きなタコと遭遇することができました。

ランチには焼きたてのビッグハンバーガーとフルーツをおいしくいただき、日光浴をデッキの上で楽しみました。穏やかな波でしたし、船酔いの心配も特にないと思います。また、オプションでダイビングも１本楽しめるツアーですが、シュノーケリングとスキンダイブだけでも存分に楽しめるツアーです。

クルージングの帰路では、キャプテンクックの記念碑やコナ地区のコーヒーベルト地帯とその近くのプウホヌア・オ・ホナウナウ国立歴史公園の案内があり、海からのちょっとしたハワイ島観光も楽しめました。そのときの英語はナチュラルスピードで、なんとなくでしか内容の説明はわかりませんでしたが…。あらかじめ予習しておくといいかも知れません。

そしてなんといっても印象的でしたのが、野生のイルカと出会うことができ、ドルフィンジャンプも見ることが出来たことです。綺麗な嬉しく楽しい思い出となりました。

これぞハワイ島という程に自然を満喫できるお勧めのツアーです。でも、天気がいいときは、紫外線対策を忘れないように…。

My friend Nancy and I purchased this tour on the Fair Wind as a Father's Day gift for our husbands, Jay & Jim. Jay & I had taken a similar tour in Kauai last summer. We were expecting a similar activity this time, but were pleasantly surprised to find that it was so much more. The catamaran was so much nicer, the snorkeling was wonderful, the crew was so attentive to our every need and the food was great also. We all had a wonderful time and will definitely do the same thing the next time we are on the Big Island of Hawaii. It was also great that the departure place was only a five minute walk from the resort where we were staying. The crew was very helpful in instructing us as to where to snorkel and find the most fish. My husband got some great pictures with his underwater camera. The boat was not over crowded. The weather turned out to be beautiful that day. I would also like to mention that the ages of the four of us range from 65 to 73. We had no problem maneuvering aro

The meeting point was in a perfect location, just a five-minute walk from the Sheraton Keauhou Bay where we were staying. The catamaran was still new and very beautiful.

There were two of us and one other group of Japanese participants; everyone else was foreign. My husband is experienced with snorkeling, but I had only swum in a pool (where I could stand), so I was a bit scared at first. However, after being given a float, I was able to see many fish and was incredibly impressed! After seeing the lava tunnel, we dropped anchor in front of the Captain Cook monument, which apparently cannot be accessed by car. I was able to snorkel again. When we got out of the water, there was a wonderful smell...

It was the barbecue being cooked by the staff. We also enjoyed some wine, and the hamburgers were huge—probably three times the size of Japanese patties. It was a pleasant voyage with the sea breeze. Neither of us speaks English, but we had no trouble at all and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We would love to participate again.

スタッフが焼いてるバ−べキュ−でした。ワインもいただき、ハンバ−ガ−の大きいこと日本のパテの３倍はあると思います。潮風にふかれて気持ちのいい航海でした。私たち２人とも英語が話せないのですが、まったく不自由なこともなく、十分に楽しませていただできました。また、参加したいです。

I am nearsighted, so I usually wear regular snorkeling glasses, but I could hardly see anything. However, this time I was able to borrow glasses specifically for nearsightedness for the first time. Thanks to the captain who helped me find the right pair, my wife and I were able to dive (just floating in the waves) and saw amazing things. There were fish swimming right there! It was so moving!

While seeing the fish was great, the contrast of the catamaran sailing towards the horizon and the quiet navigation to the lava remnants (I didn’t understand the explanations since they were in English...) was wonderful. When the waves were calm, the feeling of racing at full speed across that sea made me feel exhilarated, and I think I forgot all about worldly matters.

Also, while the interaction with nature was nice, the barbecue prepared by the staff on the boat was very delicious. I definitely want to participate again next time!

This is my second time participating in the snorkeling tour organized by Fair Wind. Last time, I joined the morning cruise for snorkeling at Kealakekua Bay, but this time I decided to join the Flukes Deluxe Snorkel/Scuba Cruise, which I had been interested in for a while. Both tours take you to Kealakekua Bay, where the water is clear and you can encounter many fish. The Flukes cruise has a new and luxurious feel to the boat, and it takes you to the southern waters at quite a speed, so I think you can enjoy not just snorkeling but also the feeling of cruising at a resort. A trip to Hawaii Island without a rental car for two women. We arrived at the Fair Wind office after about a 15-minute taxi ride from Royal Kona Resort (including tip, it was $20). When we handed over the voucher at the check-in counter, we received our boarding passes. We just needed to present those when boarding.

The day before, I had severe seasickness during the manta night snorkeling, so I was quite hesitant about getting on the boat. However, it turned out to be a larger boat than I expected, and I didn't experience any seasickness. The cruise to the snorkeling spots was fantastic, with beautiful views and a refreshing breeze.

All participants, except for an elderly Japanese couple, were foreigners. Although Japanese was hardly understood, there was no problem as snorkeling gear in the right sizes was provided on the boat.

For breakfast, there were croissants, eggs, fruits, yogurt, and oatmeal. The carrot juice was refreshing and delicious. There were two snorkeling spots. The water was deep, but the visibility was high, and we could see many fish. The staff guided us even into the caves, which was very satisfying.

After swimming at the two spots, the hamburger for lunch was thick and filling. It was so delicious that I finished it all. We were thrilled to see dolphins both going and coming back. I was moved by their jumping and swimming around the boat.

On the way back, we stopped by Captain Cook and received a history lesson. (I only understood a little English, so I didn't grasp much, but it was amusing.) Among the optional tours I participated in during this trip (Atlantis, manta night snorkeling, Hawaii Island day tour), I think this was the best tour. If I have the chance to go to Hawaii Island again, I would definitely like to participate.

朝食はクロワッサンや、卵、フルーツ、ヨーグルト、オートミール等がありました。
にんじんジュース？がさっぱりしていておいしかったです。
シュノーケリングスポットは2箇所。
水深が深い所でしたが、透明度は高く、たくさんの魚を見る事ができました。
スタッフさんが洞窟の中まで案内してくれたりと、大満足でした。
2箇所泳いだ後の、昼食ハンバーガーはお肉が厚くて食べ応えあり。
おいしくて全部平らげちゃいました。
行きも帰りも、イルカを見る事ができ、大興奮。船の周りをジャンプして泳ぐ姿に感動しました。
帰りがけに、キャプテンクックへ寄り、歴史の説明を受けました。
（私は少ししか英語がわからないので、あまり理解できませんでしたが・笑）
今回の旅行でオプショナルツアーに参加した中で、（アトランティス、マンタナイトシュノーケリング、ハワイ島一日ツアー）一番良かったと思えるツアーでした。
もしまたハワイ島に行く機会があればぜひ参加したいと思います。

I enjoyed snorkeling at the famous Kealakekua Bay, known for its high transparency. Before leaving the country, I completed my reservation and payment online, and I was impressed by how convenient things have become.

On the day of the trip, my friend and I were the only Japanese participants, and I was worried since we couldn't speak English. However, the crew members were very kind, and their bright smiles reassured me even without words.

The boat was larger than usual, and the facilities, including fresh water showers, were excellent! Moreover, it was fantastic that the boat moved quickly over the water with minimal rocking. Watching the marine blue surface of the sea under the sun while feeling the sea breeze washed away my usual fatigue.

We were also lucky to spot dolphins from a distance along the way.

For lunch, we had a BBQ on board. The hamburger after a swim was delicious! I enjoyed it with my favorite drink until I was full.

When I encountered fish I didn't recognize, the staff kindly brought out a guidebook and showed me pictures.

今回は透明度が高くて有名なケアラケクア湾でシュノーケルを楽しんできました。出国前からオンラインで予約申し込み＆支払いを済ませ、世の中便利になったものだと感心したものです。
当日は日本人が私と友人の２人のみ、英語が話せないので心配になりましたが、乗船スタッフ皆さんがとても優しく、言葉が通じなくても明るい笑顔に安心しました。
船は一般的なものより大きく真水のシャワーなど設備もすばらしかったです！また、なによりも揺れが少なく高速で海上を移動できるのが最高です。太陽の下でマリーンブルーの海面を眺めながら潮風に吹かれると、普段の疲れが一掃されます。
途中からイルカの姿も遠目に見られ、とてもラッキーでした。
昼食は船上でバーベＱランチです。ひと泳ぎした後のハンバーガーはこれまた美味しい！好みのドリンクと一緒にお腹一杯いただきました。
わからない魚はスタッフさんが、親切に図鑑を持ち出し写真をみせてくれました。
またまた、ぜひ参加したいと思います。

On the first day of my arrival on the Big Island, I participated in this tour. I went to Hawaii Island for the first time and participated in snorkeling at Kealakekua Bay. The guidebooks say it's better in the morning, but I joined the afternoon tour and had plenty of fun. The crew is all foreign, so there might be some language barriers, but they are experienced, so there's no need to worry. The atmosphere was great, and I really enjoyed it. The sea was calm, and if you're lucky, you might catch some fish along the way, and there’s a chance of encountering dolphins while snorkeling. Unfortunately, I didn't see any when I went. We participated as two families. Since it was an English tour, I was a bit anxious, but with the voucher, there were no issues at the reception. Once on board, the staff was kind, which made me feel at ease. The boat anchored in about 8 meters of water. Although I started snorkeling feeling a bit overwhelmed at first, I gradually got used to it and began to see fish and even dive a little...

The kids boldly played by jumping into the sea from the second deck of the boat using a slide and diving from the deck (4-5 meters). The parents also returned to their childhood and jumped in as well.

There are two episodes related to the camera...
First, a friend's husband dove from the deck with a camera! When he came up from underwater, he had a cut on his forehead... the camera had hit him. Fortunately, the injury wasn't too serious, but the camera was broken. For some reason, we all ended up laughing... everything becomes fun when you're here.

Second, my husband came down the stairs from the deck with ease. However, he slipped at the end! The camera he was holding disappeared into the sea. But the staff dove in and found the camera for us. We were so moved. Thank you very much.

２家族で参加しました。英語のツアーなので不安でしたがバウチャーがあれば、受付で困ることはありませんよ。乗船してからもスタッフが優しいので安心でした。船は停泊したのは、水深８Ｍ位のところ。シュノーケルを始めたもののアップアップしてしまい始めは不安でしたが慣れてくるとお魚を見たりちょっと潜ってみたり・・・
子供たちは、船の２Ｆデッキから滑り台で海へ飛び込んだり、デッキ（４~５Ｍ）から海へ飛び込んだり、大胆に遊んでいました。親たちも童心に帰って飛び込んでみたりしちゃいました。
そこでカメラにまつわる２つのエピソードが・・・
その１．友人のご主人は、カメラを持ってデッキからダイビング！！水中から顔を上げるとおでこに血が・・・・カメラが当たってしまったのです。けがは、それほどでもなったのですかカメラが壊れてしまったのです。でもなぜか大笑い・・ここにいると何でも楽しくなってしまいます。
その２．私の夫は、軽快にデッキから階段を下りてきました。ところが最後にツル！
手に持っていたカメラが海のそこへ~~消えていきました。ところが、スタッフのかたが潜ってカメラを探してきてくれたのです。もう大感激でした。ありがとうございました。

Although it was an English tour, my family, who only speaks Japanese, had almost no problems.

Our family consisted of our youngest child, a 4-year-old girl, and two boys aged 13 and 15, along with my spouse. We had a decent time. I'm not sure if it was because it was a Monday, but there were about 30 participants in total. The breakfast pastries and fruits, as well as the ham and cheese sandwiches for lunch, were plentiful enough that there were leftovers at the end. I thought the flavors were quite American and a bit bland, but my son really enjoyed the breakfast muffins, and my wife loved the vegetables served at lunch and went back for seconds. The deck was not crowded with that number of people, which felt just right.

After about a 30-minute sail, we arrived at our destination and started snorkeling. The instructions were only in English, but I assumed that the safety information was all that mattered, so I think as long as you have some common sense, you should be fine. The only warning was that "fins should not be worn until just before entering the water," and there were no other particular issues. My 4-year-old daughter, who dislikes getting her face wet, was floating with a life jacket. The three men dove down to about 4 meters to see the fish, but unfortunately, the fish were scarce... (this might have been specific to that day?). This was the biggest downside. I don't know how Hanauma is these days, but I don't think there's much difference (the water wasn't murky like at Hanauma). There was one more thing: the man steering the boat was completely unfriendly. The other crew members were all nice (no worries there). The ham and cheese sandwiches after snorkeling might be heavy for some people... but I still felt like I wanted to participate again.

出航後、約３０分の航海で目的地に着きシュノーケルをスタートします。案内は英語だけでしたが、安全に関する話が全てだろうと思っていたので、ある程度常識が有ればOKだと思います。注意されたのは「足ひれは海に入る直前まで着けない」の１点で後は特にありませんでした。４歳の娘も顔に水がつくのが嫌いなくせに、ライフジャケットで浮かんでいました。男たち３人は４mくらいの所まで潜って魚たちを見に行きましたが、なにせ、魚影が薄い・・・（この日に限ってのことなのかも？）これが一番の欠点でした。最近のハナウマがどうか知りませんが、大差はないと思います。（ハナウマの様に水は濁ってませんよ）後もう一つありました。船の舵を取ってるおじさんが全く愛想がない。他のクルーはいい人ばかりです（心配なく）。それから船に弱い人は薬は飲んでおいた方が良い場合が有ります。シュノーケル後のハムやチーズのサンドは人に依ってはヘビーかもしれませんから・・でも、また参加したいという気持ちが沸いてきました。

It was the best day for me, as someone who loves snorkeling. The water wasn't as cold as I expected, and the clarity was great, allowing me to see various types of fish. There are quite a few species native to the Hawaiian Islands, so I recommend it to anyone who has experienced snorkeling in other countries.

Also, when entering the water from the boat, you can use stairs, so there's no need to jump off the boat, making it easy for beginners to get into the sea. While waiting to board the boat, I saw a small green turtle swimming by the jetty, so I was hoping to see more turtles, but since the snorkeling spot at Kealakekua Bay doesn't have a beach, turtles don't come close, which was a bit disappointing.

However, I was lucky enough to casually look up while floating in the sea and saw a White-tailed Tropicbird gracefully flying by. It's a bird that you don't often get a chance to see, so this was also a precious memory.

ボートへの乗船を待っている間、ジェッティで小さなグリーンタートルが泳いでいましたので、もっとカメを見られるかと期待していたのですが、シュノーケルをするケアラケクア湾はビーチがないので近くにカメはこないという事で、海の中ではカメにあえなかったのがちょっと残念でした。
ただ、ラッキーな事に、海でプカプカしながら何気なく上を見たら、シラオネッタイチョウ（White-tailed Tropicbird）が優雅に飛んで行くのが見えました。なかなか見るチャンスのない鳥なのでこれも貴重な思い出の一つです。

It was a wonderful tour that met my expectations. The clarity of the ocean was amazing, I got to see many fish, and the food was delicious. There were no Japanese staff, but they accommodated us without any issues. I would like to participate again. For those who dislike being around too many Japanese people in Hawaii, I recommend this tour as there were only a few Japanese participants.

I participated in the morning tour on May 22nd. The Fair Wind boat is located about 15-20 minutes south by car from downtown Kona at Keauhou Bay. The morning in Kona is incredibly pleasant, and driving while overlooking the Pacific Ocean is the best. After parking in the designated lot, I checked in. After showing my voucher and signing the waiver, I received my boarding pass and went to get my snorkel. There was a brief explanation before boarding, and then we set sail. Be sure to grab a seat on the second floor and soak up the sun. The sun in Kona is no joke, so make sure to apply sunscreen to avoid getting burned. I spotted a wild dolphin, but it seems that whales can be seen during the season. While enjoying a light breakfast of muffins, cake, Hawaiian juice, and coffee, we arrived at Kealakekua Bay in about 30 minutes. In the morning, the winds are light, so we mostly use the engine, but on windy afternoon tours, we can enjoy quiet sailing with the sails up. Once we arrived, the captain gave us safety instructions and explained how to use the snorkel before we entered the water. The sun was hot, so getting into the water felt like heaven. I was first amazed by the coral reef forest. Since it's a marine life conservation area, the water clarity is outstanding, and you can see the fish very well. What's particularly impressive is that the depth suddenly increases to about 10-20 meters from the coral reef to the inner bay, so when you go out, you can't see the bottom. The sensation of sunlight pouring down to the deep blue bottom is unforgettable. Kealakekua Bay is the famous place where Captain Cook landed, and it's a historically significant bay where white people "discovered" Hawaii in the 18th century. ５月２２日の午前ツアーに参加してきました。　コナのダウンタウンから車で１５~２０分南に下った所にあるケアホウ湾にフェアウィンド号はあります。　コナの朝は超気持ちいいし、太平洋を見下ろしながらのドライブは最高。　指定された駐車場に車を止めたら、チェックイン。　バウチャー見せてウェイバーにサインしたら、乗船券を渡されて自分のスノーケルを取りに行きます。　乗船前に簡単な説明があり、いよいよ出港。　ぜひ２階に席をとって太陽をガンガンに浴びましょう。　コナの日差しは洒落にならないので日焼け止めは必ず塗りって火傷しない様に。　野生のイルカを一匹見られましたが、季節にはクジラが見えるみたいです。　マフィン、ケーキ、ハワイアンジュース、コーヒーなどの軽い朝食を食べながら、ケアラケクア湾には大体３０分位で着きます。　午前中は風が弱いので大体はエンジンを使って行きますが、風の強い午後のツアーは帆を張って静かなセーリングを楽しめます。　いよいよ着いたらキャプテンから注意事項、スノーケルの使用法等の説明を受けて、水に入ります。　日差しが暑かったので水に入ると天国の気分。　まずは珊瑚礁の森に驚かされます。　海洋生物保護区なので水の透明度は超抜群で、魚達もよく見えます。　特に凄いのは珊瑚礁から内湾にかけて１０−２０m程は急に深くなっているので沖に出ると底が見えない事です。　太陽の光がディープブルーの底に注いでる感覚は頭に焼き付きます。　ケアラケクア湾はかの有名なキャプテンクックが上陸した場所で、１８世紀に白人がハワイを「発見」した歴史的な湾です。　キャプテンクックの船は上陸時、１０００~１５００ものハワイアンカヌーに囲まれたそうです。　彼らが上陸した季節は丁度「平和と回復」の時期で、幸運にも大変なもてなしを受けたそうですが、　３ヶ月後ハワイを離れ様とし荒海のため再びケアラケクア湾に戻った時は、ハワイは既に季節は変わっていて、３０００人もの戦士に迎えられたそうです。　彼らはアリイ（酋長ランクの王族）を誘拐しようとして失敗し、無惨にも殺害されました。　残念ながらキャプテンクックのモニュメントには上陸できません。一通りスノーケルを済ました後は、バーベキューを船上で頬張りながらくつろぎます。　ウォータースライダーやダイビング等を楽しめ、ハワイらしく遊べます。　大体お昼過ぎに出港し２０分位かけてケアホウ

A beautiful boat, American-style breakfast and lunch, and snorkeling in crystal-clear waters! Most participants were Westerners, and we were the only Japanese, but it was actually fun to communicate in broken English. However, I was quite disappointed that we didn't see the dolphins we were hoping for... The captain did his best to find them, but it's just luck, so there's nothing we can do about it. Since I do scuba diving, just being on the surface isn't quite enough for me (laughs).

I participated in the morning tour on August 19. Boarding started at 9 AM. As soon as we boarded and looked down at the sea, we saw a large school of fish. Chased by five big fish, we observed how the school changed shape, which heightened our expectations for this tour. After leaving the school of fish behind, the boat set sail and arrived at our destination in about an hour. The water clarity was outstanding! Even from the surface, we could see the shadows of many fish. Here, the crew provided explanations about snorkeling in English. And then, it was finally time to go into the water. Because the Fair Wind boat is large, the nearby water temperature was cold. However, it was warm in the shallows when we swam with fins, so it was fine. There were many tropical fish in yellow and black, and the coral was incredibly beautiful. I even found an eel hiding in the coral. After swimming for a while, when I started to feel tired, I noticed smoke coming from the boat. Yes, it was the smoke from grilling cheeseburger patties. Tempted by the delicious smell, I returned to the boat and enjoyed a burger before heading back into the water again. Alternatively, you could play on the boat's slide. Adults were jumping in with the kids too. The boat set sail around 12:20 PM for the return trip, but there was still fun to be had on the way back. They lowered about four fishing rods from the boat, and one of them caught a fish. However, I had left my camera on the second floor of the boat and couldn't capture them on film. Soon we reached the port, and as the waves disappeared, the dolphins swam away. Most people didn’t notice them. We probably saw them for about a minute. If you're lucky, you might see them, so be sure to bring your camera wherever you go. It was truly a highly satisfying tour. In Kona, the wind picks up in the afternoon, and the waves can get a bit rough, so I recommend the morning tour. The crew only speaks English. Besides us, there were two groups of Japanese families spanning three generations and two girls traveling together. Most participants were from Western countries. If you're concerned about sunburn and want to sit on the first floor during the boat ride, make sure to check in by 8:30 AM and line up.

8月19日の午前のツアーに参加しました。乗船開始時間９時。乗船早々に船から海を見下ろすと大きな魚の群れが見えました。大きな魚５匹に追っかけられて、群れがいろんな形に変化する様子が観察でき､がぜんこのツアーへの期待度が高まります。魚の群れを跡に船は出港し、１時間ほどで目的地に到着。海の透明度は抜群!！。海面からも濃い魚影がみえます。ここで船のクルーから英語にてシュノーケル等の説明があります。そして、いよいよ海の中へ。フェアウインドの船は大きいせいか、付近の海水温度は冷たいです。でも、フィンで浅瀬まで泳いでいくとぬくいので大丈夫。黄色とか黒の熱帯魚がたくさんいて､なんといっても珊瑚が大変美しかったです。私は珊瑚の隙間にうつぼもみつけましたよ。ひとしきり泳いで、疲れたなと思ったころに、なにやら船から煙がでています。そう、チーズバーガーのお肉を焼いてる煙なんです。いい匂いにつられて、船に戻り、バーガーをひとしきり食べたら､私たちはもう１度海に戻りましたが､そのまま船のスライダーで遊んでもいいかもしれません。大人も子供と一緒になって飛び込んでましたよ。12時20分頃船は出港。帰路につきますが､この帰路にも楽しみはありました。船から４本ほど魚を釣る竿をおろしているのですが、それに魚がかかりました。けっこう大物みたいで、俄然周囲は盛り上がりましたが､あがってきたのはいがいとしょぼいカマスの大きいバージョンみたいなスリムな魚でした。そして、船の１階で当日みんなを撮影したビデオの撮影会がありました。それが終了して、港も近くなったころ､船の作る波間を遊ぶように５頭の野生のイルカを発見！。が、カメラは船の２階におきっぱでカメラに収めることはできませんでした。ほどなく港につき、波が消えたため､イルカも去っていってしまいました。ほとんどの人が気付いてませんでした。時間にして１分ぐらい見れたでしょうか。運がよければみれるので、どこに行くにもぜひカメラをお供にすることをお忘れなく。ほんと満足度の高いツアーでした。コナは午後は風が吹き、波が少し荒くなるので､午前のツアーをお勧めします。船のクルーは英語のみです。私達のほかに日本人は３世代ファミリーが２組と、女の子同士２人が来ていました。参加者は欧米人が大半です。日焼けが気になり､船の移動中１階に座りたい人は8時30分には受付を済ませ､並びましょう。

I was really anxious about participating alone, but the staff was friendly and I had a great time. The sea was beautiful and clear, and I was able to see a lot of fish, which was wonderful. There was a slide, and both adults and children had a lot of fun jumping off the second level of the boat. I think this is a place where families and couples can enjoy themselves widely.

一人参加で凄く不安だったんですが、スタッフはフレンドリーでとても楽しく過ごせました。海はきれいで透明だし魚も沢山見れてとてもよかったです。滑り台はあるし、船の２階部分から飛び込みをしたりして大人も子供も凄く楽しんでいました。ここはファミリーからカップルまで幅広く楽しめるところだと思います。

This was my first time participating, and I was able to experience the cheerful and warm nature of the locals, as well as the beautiful underwater scenery of Hawaii Island up close. Additionally, the fact that there were few Japanese people added to the appeal. For those who are not good at English, I think they can still feel what others are saying through their intuition. Aside from our family of five, everyone else was from abroad. It was great to choose a tour with very few Japanese people. We were able to communicate in simple English with an elderly couple from America, honeymooning couples, the captain, and the crew, and the kids seemed to enjoy it too. Although not much Japanese was spoken, they provided explanations in Japanese for snorkeling precautions. The lunch sandwiches were delicious and very American. Since the age limit for children was up to 17 years old, my sons, who are 15 and 17 and quite big, could also enjoy it at a lower price. I didn't swim, but there was plenty of shade, so I wasn't troubled. The timing was just right, allowing us to enjoy our favorite activities in the afternoon as well. If I have the chance to go again, I will participate.

私たち家族５人以外は全員　外国の方です。あまり日本人のいないツアーを選んだのでとてもよかったです。アメリカからこられた老夫婦や　ハネムーンのカップル　キャプテン　クルーと楽しく片言の英語でコミュニケーションができ　子ども達も楽しんだようです。あまり日本語は通じませんが　シュノーケリングの注意事項は日本語の説明をくれます。ランチのサンドイッチも　アメリカ的でおいしく頂きました。子ども年齢の適応が１７歳まででしたので　１５歳、１７歳の大きな体の息子たちも安く楽しめましす。私は泳がなかったのですが　日陰もちゃんとあり　困りませんでした。時間が丁度良く　午後からも自分の好きなことが楽しめます。また行くことがあったら参加します。

We boarded the Body Glove boat from the Kailua Pier in Kona. Looking around, I noticed there were no Japanese people. Aside from our family of five and a family that seemed to be from the Middle East, almost everyone else was white. I tried to communicate with the white family sitting next to us and an elderly couple, but I could only catch fragmented words I learned long ago. From what I gathered, the husband had been to Osaka for business. They were on a trip from the mainland U.S. to Hawaii on a ship anchored offshore. I reflected that I need to take English conversation classes when I return home.

Before long, we arrived at our destination, Pawai Bay. We were lent masks and fins and entered the water. Floating on the surface and peering down, I saw a variety of beautiful fish and some delicious-looking sea urchins. It was amazing, and after drifting for a while, I returned to the boat and devoured a sandwich filled with ham and salad, feeling very satisfied.

It was my first time snorkeling, and it was an experience that I could easily get addicted to. By the way, I really want that stick-like float!

　そうこうするうちに，目的地のパヴァイベイに到着。マスクと足ひれを貸してもらって，海中へ。フロートに身を任せて，海中を覗き込むと，色とりどりのきれいな魚，魚，魚，それにおいしそうなウニ。これはすごいとしばらく海面を漂って後，船に戻ってハム，サラダを一杯はさんだサンドウィッチをほおばり，大満足。
　はじめてのシュノーケリングでしたが，やみつきになりそうな体験でした。それにしても，あの棒状のフロート，欲しい。

Since I went a bit out of season, there were relatively few guests participating, and I was able to relax comfortably on the boat. The boat was also clean, and having a shower was a nice touch. The sea was calm that day, and I could spend the whole day snorkeling and just lounging on the boat, allowing me to forget the hectic life in Japan and unwind.

少し時期はずれに行ったので参加してるお客さんも割と少なく船の中快適に寛げました。船もきれいでシャワーもついてるのがありがたかったです。この日は海が穏やかで一日中シュノーケリングと船の上でボーっとすごせて日ごろのせわしない日本の生活を忘れてのんびりできました。
