My wife and I did not have a car for the week but wanted to see the Island for what it had to offer. This tour came to our Hotel and picked us up as well as brought us back and gave a view of the Island most people would not be able to see. Our driver Nathan was excellent and gave us a relaxed and informed trip and even gave us some extra insights that a book would not give. The views were amazing and gave you an option if you wanted to come back and stay for more indepth viewing. I would recommend going with a tour to really get the flavor of the Island.

I participated in a two-and-a-half-hour morning course. There were a total of four participants, including us and a foreign family. The guide spoke only in English, but spoke slowly and clearly, so there were no particular difficulties. The horses were well-trained and even did canter. The weather was great, and I thoroughly enjoyed horseback riding in the beautiful scenery, which was very healing.

Had a relaxing and fun day with the Kahua Ranch horseback group! Went with my husband and two teenage sons. My youngest son has high functioning Autism and was given a gentle sweet horse. The ranch is beautiful and has many types of terrain to ride across. The ranch is a working ranch with cattle and cows with calves. There are also sheep spread around the property. The guides are knowledgeable and fun and support the guests with instruction and help throughout the ride. This is a gentle relaxing ride for all skill levels. I would recommend this excursion for folks wanting a calm relaxing ride threw the pastures of Big Island! (The cows get all the best views on Big Island!)

Deluxe Captain Cook Snorkeling Tour at Kealakekua Bay - Fair Wind Cruises

Knowledgable, respectful, fun captain and crew.

It is hard to know which cruise to book--well this is the one I would go with each time! The crew were knowledgable and respectful! As we came into the bay, their were a pod of spinner dolphins; we kept a respectful distance but we all got to take photos. Then when we pulled into anchor and snorkel, they made sure we knew to keep our distance from where the dolphins were swimming, since the dolphins come to the bay to rest it is even more important for people to give them their space--so impressed with the crew.

The snorkeling was beautiful. The coral was amazing and at many different levels with sooo many different species of fish!! Fabulous!

I participated in a 150-meter parasailing tour. It was my first experience. I parked my rental car in the public parking lot of the Kamehameha Hotel, where the reception office is located! (After checking in, if you hand over the parking ticket, you can get a discount on parking fees for up to three hours. Don't forget your parking ticket if you park there.)

All communication with the reception staff was in English. The instructions for how to ride and safety guidelines were in Japanese, though. After completing the check-in, I was informed of the meeting time and took a little break.

We headed to the pier, boarded the boat, and set off! The parasailing goes up to about 40 meters high. I thought it would be more windy, but it felt like I was floating gently, and it wasn't scary at all. My friend, who has a fear of heights, was able to ride normally too.

I decided on this tour/adventure package because it’s something that really interests me. From the coffee, to the excellent bbq picnic, the solar view of the sun setting, and of course the stars! Todd was our guide and he was so professional and was beyond knowledgeable in each area of the tour. He made everyone feel comfortable and was very engaging. I would HIGHLY recommend this to anyone wishing to do something that feels laid back, but covers a lot of ground.

As for the whales, I was able to see their tails and spouts, although it was from quite a distance. I think there were quite a few of them. However, I couldn't see them as close as it was mentioned on the reservation site, so that was a bit different from my expectations.

We were the only Japanese people with an English guide. I communicated to our guide, Emi, in English that I didn't understand the language and needed support before boarding. Throughout the trip, she frequently checked in on our health and meal preferences, which made us feel at ease. It was unfortunate that there were guides in the Captain Cook area that I couldn't understand due to the language barrier. However, I was able to enjoy snorkeling at my own pace and had a meaningful experience seeing various fish and corals in two different locations. The meals were served buffet-style, and the hamburger patties were grilled live! The location and delicious aroma were fantastic, and the food was very tasty. Breakfast is provided, but since we gathered at 9 AM and arrived at the first point after departure, I felt a bit nauseous from hunger... In fact, one guest had to return to the port and disembark before heading to the second point due to feeling unwell after entering the water. It might be better for participants to have a little something in their stomachs beforehand.

My mother, who is not fond of water, stayed on the boat the whole time, but she seemed captivated and said, "If they lend out floatation devices in places like this, I think I’ll try going into the sea next time." Emi's voice was very pleasant, making the cruise enjoyable. Since we were staying at the Sheraton Kona, it was also great that we could walk to the meeting point.

水が苦手な母はずっと船上でしたが、「こういう所で浮き具も貸してもらえるなら次は海に入ってみようと思う。」と海中を実際に見てみたいと魅了されたようです。ガイドのエミさんの声も大変耳心地よく気持ちよくクルーズできました。
シェラトンコナに宿泊していたので、徒歩で集合場所まで行けたのも良かったです。

My family and I greatly enjoyed this experience! Even my in laws who just stayed on the boat and watched from above enjoyed the view. These creatures are majestic and beautiful! We saw 8 rays and almost all of them got within a foot of me! I would recommend doing this activity for anyone just remember to take motion sickness meds as sometimes the water is choppy....

The reason for meeting on-site was that it overlapped with other options we considered. The navigation system we borrowed kept saying to turn left onto a narrow forest road after entering Waipio! It looked like a path overgrown with grass. Since I had gone another route before, I ignored it and went through the town to the valley. (On the way back, it also instructed a right turn onto a suspicious forest road.) After that, once we got closer to the valley, we followed the signs and turned right to reach Artworks. Please be careful not to be misled by the navigation. The reception starts at 9 AM, so if you arrive early, there won't be any staff around, just the shopkeepers. There is road construction on the way here, causing traffic jams, but in the afternoon, it might take 10 to 15 minutes longer than in the morning (the worst is in the evening). They mentioned the construction would last for two years. It's not too serious, so there's no need to rush.

The horses had various personalities, which was interesting. Sometimes the English was fast, making it hard to catch everything, but we managed. The explanations were natural, especially about the trees, but they weren't very detailed, so I wondered if it would be more enjoyable with a Japanese guide, as my daughter, who is nearly native-level, remarked. Along the way, we crossed a small stream and encountered wild horses, making for a relaxed horseback riding experience. There's no need to worry. Just keep in mind that since you'll be on the horse for a long time, those with weak hips might find it uncomfortable later. Also, the helmet we borrowed could really use some Febreze! 現地集合にした理由は他のオプションで立ち寄ったところとかぶってしまうのでこれにしました。うちでお借りしたナビがワイピオに入ってから狭い林道に左折と言うのです！どう見ても草ぼうぼうで道？と言う感じ。一度別のオプションで行ったことがあるので、無視して町の中を通って渓谷へ行きました。（帰りも怪しい林道へ右折と指示）あとは渓谷近くなってから標識に従い右折していくとアートワークスへ行けました。皆さんはナビに惑わされないように進んでください。受付は９時からですので前についても係りの人がおらず、お店の方だけでした。ここヘ行く途中道路工事で渋滞していますが、午前よりは午後が１０から１５分かかるときがあります（ひどいのは夕方ですが）。工事は２年と言っていました。あまり大したことがないのであせらないでくだいね。
馬もいろいろな性格があって面白かったです。英語がはやくて聞き取れないこともありましたが、なんとかなりました。説明は自然、とりわけ樹木とかですが大した説明でないので、日本語ガイドさんだったらもっと楽しいのかな。とネイティブ並みの娘が呟いておりました。途中小川を横断したり野生の馬に出会ったり、のんびりした感じの乗馬です。心配はいりません。ただ馬にまたがるので、股関節が弱い方は長い時間なのであとでお辛くなるかな。それから、お借りしたヘルメットがファブリーズしてー！と言いたくなるほど。（泣）自然満喫アクティビティなんだから仕方ないですね。（笑）荷物は本当に最小限に。また運動靴は新しいのは避けたほうがいいですね。帰りにお勧めランチをしながら帰りました。時間を有効に使えて楽しかったです。

The horses were a bit young and sometimes didn’t listen, but it wasn't a problem; if I pulled the reins a bit harder, they would respond. The puppies walking alongside the horses were adorable, and all the participants enjoyed themselves. Riding was fun too, but getting to the horses involved a steep slope, and we went down a cliff with four horses, which was thrilling.

I was looking for activities that even a one-year-old child could enjoy, and this was perfect for us! The colorful fish were clearly visible through the beautiful glass bottom of the boat, and luckily, we even encountered a pod of dolphins. The dolphins came right up next to the boat, which was so much fun.

The guide was very knowledgeable about the fish and was a wonderful person with a great sense of service. The explanations were in English, so those who understand English will enjoy it more, but even if you don't understand, the beauty of the sea itself means you won't be disappointed.

The boat ride lasts about an hour. The sea was calm, and the boat didn't rock, but since you tend to look down at the glass bottom, I think it's a good idea for those who are prone to seasickness to take some motion sickness medication. The meeting point was easy to find, and I think you'll spot the boat with the blue and yellow flags right away.

I definitely want to use this service again next time!

カラフルな魚が、キレイなボートのグラス越しによく見えますし、ラッキーなことに、イルカの群にも遭遇できました。イルカたちは、ボートのすぐ側まで来てくれてとても楽しかったです。
ガイドさんは魚の知識が豊富で、サービス精神の溢れた素敵な方でした。説明は英語なので、英語が分かる方が楽しめますが、仮に分からなかったとしても海そのものが美しいので困るということはないと思います。
乗船時間は１時間ほどです。海は穏やかで船は揺れませんでしたが、うつむいて船底のガラスを眺めるので、船に酔いやすい方は酔い止めを飲まれた方がいいと思います。集合場所もわかりやすく、青と黄色の旗をつけたボートをすぐに見つけられると思います。
また次回も利用したいと思います！

The manta rays really swirl right in front of you. You can almost touch them if you reach out, and they even bump into your underwater goggles or the camera you’re holding. It was an incredibly thrilling tour. The downside was the language barrier. My husband and I were the only Japanese people there, so we didn’t understand most of the explanations, but it was still manageable. Also, it was quite cold. The ocean at night gets chilly. The people around us didn’t seem to mind as much, so if you’re not sensitive to the cold, you should be fine.

While looking at the voucher at the hotel, I realized I had overlooked the part about confirming by phone at 4 PM. We were supposed to check in at a store in the shopping center at 6 PM and gather at the local port at 6:30 PM. We originally planned to have an early dinner near the shopping center, and since I wasn’t confident in my English skills, I went directly to the store before 4 PM, and they helped me with the check-in process then. For those staying at the Sheraton, you can depart from the port, which is just a short walk from the hotel, so you don’t need a car.

本当にマンタが目の前でぐるぐる回ります。手を伸ばせば触れるくらい、というか、水中メガネや手に持っていたカメラに、マンタからぶつかってくるくらいです。大迫力のツアーでした。難点は英語。日本人は私たち夫婦のみで、説明はほぼ分かりませんでしたが、それでも大丈夫、何とかなります。それと、結構寒いです。夜の海は冷えます。周りの人たちはそうでもなかったので、寒がりじゃなければ大丈夫でしょうか。ホテルでバウチャーを見ていると、16時に電話で確認というのを見落としていましたのに気付きました。18時にショッピングセンターにある店にチェックイン、18時半に現地の港に各自集合となっていましたが、元々ショッピングセンター近くで早めの夕食をとる予定で、電話は英語力に自信がなかったため、直接16時前に店に行き、その時にチェックイン手続きもしてくれました。シェラトンに宿泊している人は、ホテルから歩いてすぐの港から出発しますので車がなくても大丈夫です。

Its a great experience to go out in the Pacific. We were on a 2 people Kayak and made our way through the ocean while checking out Lava Tube caves, snorkeling and cliff jumping (30 ft).

During my stay on the Big Island, I saw parasailing and wanted to try it, so I made a last-minute reservation two days prior. Before boarding the boat, we confirmed safety instructions at the office, and there were also materials available in Japanese! Most of the communication on the boat was in English, but with gestures and body language, I was fine even though I don't speak English, so I think you don't need to worry. It's best to wear your swimsuit, as you will get wet. You can bring your own camera and hold it while flying, which is allowed. We did not have the best experience, but I think it's based more on our skill level than the tour itself. If you're not in good shape (physically fit) it can be difficult. Make sure you use sunscreen ahead of time. The instructions when we signed up said that you would be provided reef safe sunscreen, however, that was not offered. The rocks are difficult to climb up on and if you don't have proper foot wear you can be easily injured. I think the tour is probably great for more "fit" people... We don't know because we left halfway through. I would stress that there is risk involved in this activity and life jackets are provided but not mandatory (in my opinion should be mandatory).

Had a great time both the guides were wonderful. The only issues I had were that you don’t really get close to the waterfalls they are way off in the distance and while the guides were very knowledgeable about the area you couldn’t really hear what they were saying unless you were in the front or back of the line. Other then that we enjoyed everything else

The ride was awesome, the guides were energetic and super friendly, I felt so incredibly welcome, like family The scenery was GORGEOUS and the horses we're amazing!! I'd spend the money again in a heartbeat They matched all of us to horses according to our skill level, so that even I didn't feel like I was just on a pony ride (I've been on horseback many many times) We even got to see the resident heard of wild horses! Best afternoon spent in a LONG time
