The luau show seems to be quite popular, and when I arrived 30 minutes early, there was already a line. Before it started, a beautiful rainbow appeared, which was lucky. Unfortunately, there was some rain during the show, but it was just a passing shower, so I managed. I wore the poncho they handed out to enjoy the performance. The food was buffet-style, and drinks were all-you-can-drink. The dishes had a distinctly Hawaiian flavor. Before the show, we could see the whole pig being brought out and learn some simple hula dance moves. Since we were seated with people from various countries, I made friends with a Canadian next to me and had a great time.

The weather on the day was mostly cloudy with some sunny intervals, which I think was just perfect for kayaking on the sea. It was my first time kayaking, but the boarding instructions were explained carefully in Japanese, and although the main guide was a foreigner, there was a Japanese support staff present, which made me feel safe and allowed me to enjoy the experience. The kayak was a two-person one, and the person sitting in the back becomes the leader, so they might have to paddle more often. It felt great to glide over the sea while feeling the wind. The snorkeling was also delightful, as I found the fish swimming around to be quite cute.

I was a bit anxious about having a guide in English, but they demonstrated everything from how to paddle the kayak to how to get in and out. They communicated with gestures, so I hardly had to use English at all.

From the meeting point at the port, we paddled the kayak for about an hour until we reached the snorkeling point, where we had a light snack (like crackers). After enjoying snorkeling for about 40 minutes, we paddled back to the port. It was a lot of fun.

One challenge was finding the meeting place, but in the end, it was at the port in front of the public restroom (the place to launch the kayak).

I arrived early, but along the road, there were locals fishing, and I could only park one car at a distance. When we gathered near the sign at 6:40 AM, we were asked to sign the usual disclaimer stating that they do not guarantee anything and that we are responsible for ourselves.

After that, there was a brief explanation of kayaking, some stretching exercises, and the distribution of life jackets before we quickly entered the sea. There were five of us in total, but without any options, two-person kayaks were provided. Some participants were paired with a guide.

As someone in my 40s and this being my second kayaking experience, I found it challenging to make progress once we were out in the open sea due to the waves, and I kept getting left behind. If you're going on a tour that takes you into a cave, I think you need to be quite prepared for a significant distance to kayak.

In the morning, Mount Farahrai was clearly visible, and the scenery was absolutely stunning. After kayaking, we returned and were lent snorkeling sets, but it felt like we were just told to explore the bay on our own, which isn't suitable for beginners. There weren't many fish, and the water depth was about 5 meters, which was disappointing.

At night, manta rays come to the same spot. The explanation was given by a Japanese woman, but her condescending attitude left a less than favorable impression. The tour was short, ending by 8:30.

洞窟の中まで行くツアーの場合はかなりの距離をカヤックで移動するので相当の覚悟が必要だと思います。
朝はファラライ山がくっきりとキレイに見えて景色は最高に良かったです。
カヤックが終わると一度もどりシュノーケルセットを貸し出してもらい勝手に湾内へどうぞという感じのため初心者には向きません。
魚もあまりおらず、水深も5mくらいはあるためがっかりでした。
夜は同じ場所にマンタが来ます。
日本人女性の説明でしたが、上から目線で印象今ひとつでした。8:30には終了の短いツアーでした。

There were few Japanese people, and many locals... The show that starts with the entrance of Kamehameha was quite good. It wasn't very large, but it was compactly organized, and we could see well. The food was Hawaiian, and it was delicious. The show featured hula dances that told the story of humans being born from taro, hula dedicated to Kamehameha, and hula from various islands like Tahiti and New Zealand... all were skillful and full of highlights. I highly recommend this luau when visiting the Big Island.

This was my first trip to the Big Island of Hawaii, and I participated in the much-talked-about night manta ray tour. I chose this particular tour among several options because the price included a wetsuit and was relatively reasonable, the boat ride to the snorkeling point was short, and there was a 7-day guarantee in case we didn't encounter any manta rays.

On the day of the tour, I went to the office to check in and then traveled to the boarding point, which was about a 5-minute drive away. There, I was able to rent a wetsuit and snorkeling gear. My husband borrowed prescription goggles. We set sail during sunset and quickly arrived at the snorkeling point. Aside from us, everyone else on the tour was from abroad, with about 30 participants in total. The instructions were given only in English, but it wasn't a problem at all. The staff members were very friendly and made the experience enjoyable.

The night ocean was incredibly mystical. Holding onto the floatation device and looking down, manta rays soon appeared. Over the course of about 50 minutes, 5 to 6 manta rays came by, showcasing their graceful movements. They were so adorable that I lost track of time, and everyone was super excited! My husband seemed ready to get out, but I wanted to keep watching forever. We returned to the dock in about 5 minutes, and I didn't feel the cold I had worried about at all. 夜の海はとても神秘的です。浮き具につかまり下を覗くと、すぐにマンタがやってきてくれました。50分程の間に5〜6頭やってきては、華麗な舞を披露してくれました。可愛くて、時間の経つのも忘れ、みんな大興奮‼︎ 主人はそろそろ上がりたかったみたいですが、私はいつまでもいつまでも見ていたかったです。帰りも5分程で船着場に到着。心配していた寒さも感じず、大満足の夜でした。

We participated as a family of three: my 7-year-old son, my 11-year-old son, and their father. The price was high, so their mother decided not to join... but since she could film from the observation area, it turned out to be better for her not to participate!

We started with a 15-minute lecture about dolphins at the learning center, and then we went to the pool. They provided life jackets and goggles. There were two families of three, making a total of six people in our group. There were a few times we had to wait, but overall, we spent about 30 minutes in the pool, which was longer than we expected, and the kids were satisfied.

Compared to snorkeling tours to see wild dolphins, I think the price is indeed high. We were able to take a lot of photos, but the cost for purchasing the data was $55 for two photos and $155 for all, which is quite expensive. However, I felt it was a good choice since I was scared to take small children out into the ocean.

The fire dance was the only good part.

However, there were very few drink options for the all-you-can-drink, and it took an astonishing amount of time to reach the buffet. Everyone entered early, so it felt like we wasted hours. (Originally, the meal was supposed to start an hour after the drinks, but there were delays and waiting in line.) This was surprising to the point that it couldn't just be brushed off as "because it's overseas."

The crowd was mostly Americans, and everyone seemed to be waiting reluctantly. An American lady next to me shouted, "I'm hungry!"

I went with my husband at the end of July, and since it was a venue that could hold hundreds of people, we left with a wry smile, thinking they must be making quite a profit. The seats I bought were $100 per person. The reviews were quite good, so it was baffling.

7月末に主人と行きましたが、何百人も入る開場なので、相当の儲けだね～と苦笑いしながら帰ってきました。私が買った席は1人100ドルでした。口コミはなかなか良かったので、意味不明でした。

The dancers in the luau show seem to rotate among the hotels, as I have seen them in other shows as well...

PLEASE READ, IT WILL HELP! Truthfully I was skeptical when the tour started, we were the last boat to the area and the last in the water and you could see everyone getting a little edgy seeing other groups experiencing the odd Manta whilst we were still on deck. The staff kept telling us to relax, it would be great. When we finally got in the water we waited a short while for the first Manta and it is exciting, however we didn’t know what was to come. Their plan worked a treat, the other boats all started to leave as they are
On strict timeframes (although we didn’t realise this with our heads down) and we were swarmed by Mantas. The crew counted 7, I thought there were more but perhaps that was my excitement. These giants come so close you can’t believe they don’t touch you belly to belly as they barrel roll. THIS IS AN UNBELIEVABLE EXPERIENCE. The crew are very careful not to damage the environment with their anchor placement and so respectful of the Mantas. I cannot recommend this experience or this operator enough.

Wonderful time. Had Kevin and Andre as our guides. They were wonderful and knowledgeable about the area. We were in very good hands. I didn’t listen and left my Apple Watch on when cliff jumping and sure enough it came off. I was sad but it was really my own fault. Kevin took pity on me and was able to find it!! Absolutely above and beyond what I would have expected. Great excursion, lots of fish, fun facts. We felt safe and well looked after the whole time. 10/10 would recommend.

In the summer sea, you can enjoy the sunset and stay in the water for 45 minutes without it being too cold. They keep the lights on in the water, so many manta rays swim close by. They spin around right in front of you, showing off their playful spirit. On the boat, there are light snacks available, such as drinks, fruits, and chips. It's all in English, but it's easy to understand and fun. If you're prone to seasickness, taking motion sickness medication is a must. Before it started, there was a lecture about marine life. The instructor explained in simple English, but since my second grader and kindergartener weren't very familiar with English, they seemed quite confused. I think it would have been better if the explanation was given at a slower pace, perhaps with a picture book or something to show. We managed to get through that time, and then it was off to the Dolphin Lagoon. The dolphins were really smart and interacted in various ways. We could touch their bellies, faces, pectoral fins, and tails, and the photographer was ready to capture each child's best shot. We enjoyed it for over 20 minutes, and the kids were very satisfied. We were also able to freely take videos and photos, and of course, we could purchase the snapshots and image data taken by the staff. I thought it was great that the program was designed specifically for the kids, focusing on their perspective. Both of my children agreed that the most fun part of our trip to the Big Island was the Dolphin Quest! We truly had a wonderful time.
