I thought it would be about two hours, but it ended up being close to three hours, which was enjoyable. However, for the first two hours or so, the host's talk and performances delayed the start of the actual Hawaiian show. It might be a reminder to take it easy and enjoy Hawaiian time. The show itself wasn't much different from what I've seen outside of Hawaii.

I stayed at the King Kamehameha Hotel and participated because I am learning hula. As others have mentioned, I don't think reconfirmation is necessary. When I arrived around 5 PM, there was a long line. Most of the people were foreigners. Arriving by canoe from the sea was something unique that other luau shows don't have, and it was very lovely. The food was quite tasty. The show was exciting and enjoyable. It would have been even better if there had been a modern hula show as well.

Our first family trip with my spouse and our parents, a total of six people! There wasn't a specific dress code, but many people wore dresses or collared shirts.

Just before the reception, there was a shell lei gift. If you want a lei that looks like a black stone, there is an additional charge. Further ahead, there was a photographer who took pictures and came around to sell them during the show. We declined the photo session and proceeded to the reception.

Unless you pay a special additional fee, you will be guided to seats in front of the stage in the order of reception. Since we arrived just before 5:30 PM, the front seats were already taken, and we ended up in the back. When going to get food, they also guide people to the front seats first. The only soft drink available was fruit punch, and the only other option was lemon water. Since I can't drink alcohol, I would have preferred a more varied drink menu. Our parents enjoyed buying various beers and had a great time drinking.

The food was delicious, and we were all full. The show took place at the beginning and end of the meal. It was a dinner show that was longer and more substantial than we expected, and the whole family was very satisfied.

However, there were very few drink options for the all-you-can-drink, and it took an astonishing amount of time to reach the buffet. Everyone entered early, so it felt like we wasted hours. (Originally, the meal was supposed to start an hour after the drinks, but there were delays and waiting in line.) This was surprising to the point that it couldn't just be brushed off as "because it's overseas."

The crowd was mostly Americans, and everyone seemed to be waiting reluctantly. An American lady next to me shouted, "I'm hungry!"

I went with my husband at the end of July, and since it was a venue that could hold hundreds of people, we left with a wry smile, thinking they must be making quite a profit. The seats I bought were $100 per person. The reviews were quite good, so it was baffling.

Staying at Royal Kona was very convenient. I lined up early after reading the reviews and was able to get a spot relatively close to the front. As it started, the sunset was beautiful, and I was captivated by the stunning view. The meal was served in a way where we went to get it in order of seating, so it wasn't too crowded. The taste was good as well. The song "Number One Day of Christmas" was amusing and stuck in my head, and my family and I found ourselves humming it.

There were interesting parts, like digging up the pig, but the prices felt too high. The fire dance at Fukushima's Hawaiians is much better. The food wasn't delicious. Also, it rained during our visit, and we got soaked. The hotel parking is only free for three hours. If it were around 5,000 yen, I could somewhat recommend it.

I previously experienced a luau at Hilton Hawaiian Village. There isn't much difference in the size of the seating or the stage. The performances and proceedings are similar, and the announcements are only in English, which made the excitement among the few Japanese travelers, including myself, somewhat lacking.

This time, my spouse and I used the premium seats, located in the second row from the front center of the stage (my wife's head is in the photo), while I was in the third row. These seats are right up close and provide an impressive view. After check-in, we were welcomed with leis and were guided to our seats, where we picked up our favorite drinks along the way. I went with a Mai Tai again this time. At the long table, about six people share taro chips, edamame, and jerky, allowing us to enjoy some time before the meal began. Additionally, this seating includes butler service (they frequently take drink orders), and drinks are all-you-can-drink, including alcohol. I ordered four cocktails, including Blue Hawaii, using a photo menu with Japanese explanations on the table. The glasses are large. The buffet food is also satisfying, on par with what you would find in Honolulu. The desserts here are especially recommended; the variety, taste, and presentation were all excellent. I planned to arrive 15 minutes before the opening, as I heard that this show tends to get quite crowded. However, the "Kamehameha Court" is located beyond the "Lagoon Tower," which is the farthest from the "Ocean Tower" where I'm staying. Even using the tram, it's best to allow at least 15 minutes for the journey.

Thanks to arriving early, I was able to secure a seat right in the middle, which offered the best view. (By the way, I booked a standard seat.)

I believe the show is the "Tropical Show" held at "Spa Resort Hawaiian," which I saw in a TV commercial before.

If you don't have a relaxed attitude of "enjoying the show while having a meal," some people might end up disappointed. 私は、『何れにせよ食事も摂るのだし、家内にぐだぐだ言われすにお酒が飲める！』との考えでした。
参加費用も高いので、各々のスタイルにより変わってくると思います。

This was our first trip to Hawaii with my husband and his parents. We made a reservation here to experience the Hawaiian atmosphere on our first day. It's a buffet style, and it gets a bit crowded at first, but it's manageable after a short wait. The ahi poke was delicious. There are two drink stations: one at the back of the buffet line and another to the right of the stage. If you go further back from the drink counter on the right side of the stage around sunset, you can see a wonderful sunset. (There are also ashtrays in that area.) Overall, I thought it was a bit pricey, so I gave it three stars. I felt it would cost around 10,000 yen based on my experience in Japan.

As mentioned in the experience, when I went to the reception after 5 o'clock, there was a huge line. On the day of check-in at the hotel, I watched a show. I had a standard seat, but since I lined up right after the reception started, there were only about 15 people ahead of me, so I was guided to a spot near the front of the standard seating, and I could see the show well. However, I think the back of the standard seating is still a sufficient distance to see everything.

The meal was in buffet style, with options like meat dishes and poke. Alcohol was also available. The show lasted about two hours and was performed intermittently. After a long flight, I felt it was a bit too long for me, but the climax with the fire show was stunning and woke me up.

For those who find it troublesome and stressful to arrange meals on the first day of arrival, I think it would be a good idea to book this plan where you can eat to your heart's content while watching the show.

ショーは約2時間に渡って断続的に行われ、長時間フライト後でとても疲れていた私にとっては少し長すぎかなと思いましたが、クライマックスの火のショーは圧巻だったので目が覚めました。

到着初日に食事の手配をするのが面倒だし不安だなという方は、ショーを見ながらお腹いっぱい食べられるこのプランを予約しておくのもありだと思います。
