Big Island Divers - Kona Night Scuba Diving with Mantas

Manta night time

Reviewed by: Bill

The Manta experiences one of the greatest things I’ve ever done in my life you need to recommend this all of your friends. The crew was the greatest they were attentive of all your needs. They did everything that they could do to put you in full view of the mantas and they were truly wonderful . I hope that I will be able to return To Kona someday and do this again with the same crew.

Great Dive company and experience

I would go into the Manta Ray dive but the other reviews are right on the money with the description. The only thing I would add is that we saw more Mantas than 28, I think they said there were about 40, but I don't know how they can tell when the water is so filled with them and they are doing that awesome dance above our heads. I have done some really cool dives all over the world and this is a really unique experience and should not be missed if you are on the Big Island.

I wanted to also re-assert how awesome this dive company was, and specifically Colin and Janine. I have paid big money to go on live aboard trips in the Caribbean and Thailand, Mexico and Hawaii, and the professionalism of the crew, the boat, and the care given to the divers was above and beyond anything I would have expected. They have a first class boat and they don't get greedy and over crowd the vessel, and the snacks were great too. And best of all they made this whole thing a lot of fun with humor

Kona SNUBA Diving Cruise (from Honokohau Harbor)

Always wanted to Scuba...

...but I was always too scared, but Snuba was the perfect alternative. Not only was I able to go into the water, being able to go down and see the different kinds of fish is something that I will never forget. Perfect!!!!

Kona Scuba Diving Adventure (from Honokohau Harbor)

Great dive for 1st timers

Overall:
Had a great experience overall. Was excited to find a two tank discovery dive. One of dive areas had fish, but the number of fish was slightly disappointing after having been diving in the Caribbean.

Positives: Our dive crew was very friendly and helpful. Our instructor was the owner of the company, Lynn, which was nice. The boat operator was "Q" and he was friendly and did a good job. Overall both of the crew gave lots of good information about starting to scuba dive, tips on what we could do better, and what to do in the Kona area. Beautiful coral in our dive areas.

Negatives: Pricey! (But what do you expect in Hawaii?)

Scuba dive

Reviewed by: Eric

Scuba diving here is great! Visibility was excellent. Water temp was warm. The staff was friendly, funny, and informative. Recommended whether you've never scuba dived or you're a regular pro. The octopus was a nice suprise! My wife and I petted it! It was probably the softest thing we've ever touched. Keep your eyes out for the eels. They blend in well with the coral, but can be seen if you look for them. Lots of tropical fish. We saw a sea turtle as we were leaving the dock. Didn't see any sharks!
Good Times!!!
