At first, they received lectures about sea turtles in a space next to the lagoon. After that, they had a lecture to interact with dolphins, followed by a hands-on experience in the lagoon.
So, while the time is stated as 20 minutes, that is the time spent interacting with the dolphins; in reality, I think we spent about an hour and a half to two hours in total.
The experience activity is quite pricey, but in return, you receive thorough lectures, and the satisfaction level is high. Since the age range for Kids Quest is 5 to 9 years, I felt it was the last chance for my child at this age, and I'm glad we participated.

All lectures and instructions are in English, but they explain things clearly with gestures, so even children can understand well.

My wife wanted to play with dolphins, so she participated alone. I didn't join and just watched from the side, but opportunities to interact closely with dolphins are rare. It looked like she was having a great time just watching. When I asked her later, she said it was really fun, and I thought to myself that I should have participated too. We participated in a snorkeling tour with our 5-year-old child. We often sign up for snorkeling tours when traveling, but this was our first time on a large boat, as we usually take speedboats.

Since the meeting point was local, we needed to park our rental car at the tour company's parking lot, but we were a bit confused about the location, so be careful with that. (It takes just under 50 minutes from Waikoloa.)

In this tour, we were the only Japanese participants, and the rest were Westerners, but they spoke in quite clear English, so we could get the gist of things from the atmosphere. Right after departure, there was a breakfast buffet, and soft drinks were available for free if you asked at the bar counter; our child enjoyed drinking juice. The waves were calm, so there was no spilling of drinks, and the stability was definitely different.

The snorkeling spot was quite deep (about 10 meters?), but the water was very clear, allowing us to see the bottom. While we weren't surrounded by a large number of tropical fish like at the Great Barrier Reef, we did encounter some colorful fish, which was enjoyable. The boat also had a slide and a diving board, but we didn't challenge ourselves with those... (The Westerners were diving in a lot, though!)

シュノーケルスポットは水深は深い(10m弱くらいかな？)ですがかなり海の透明度が高く、底が見えます。グレートバリアリーフのような大量の熱帯魚に囲まれることはありませんが、カラフルな魚には割と出会えるので楽しめるかと。
船にはスライダーや飛び込み台もありますが、さすがにこちらは挑戦せず…(欧米人の方はめっちゃ飛び込んでました笑)
昼食は今はハンドメイドのハンバーガーです。パティやバンズ、野菜など、自分で取って組み合わせて食べるスタイルです。さすがはアメリカ、パティの肉感がとても良く美味しく頂けましたし、常時飲み物は頂けるので、快適に寛いで過ごすことが出来ました。


小さいお子さん連れだとハワイ島のシュノーケルツアーは12歳から等の年齢制限があるものも多く参加出来ないこともありますが、こちらは大丈夫です。
私たちはイルカには残念ながら会えませんでしたが、とても楽しい思い出となりました！

According to reviews, it didn't seem like there would be many participants, but on the day we went, I think there were over 50 people on board. The second floor was almost full.

We saw dolphins right after we set off. There were several of them, which was a great start.

It takes about 40-50 minutes to reach the snorkeling point. Once we arrived, we received a safety briefing before heading out to snorkel. The water was clear, and we could see fish and sea urchins. My 4-year-old daughter also put on the fins and goggles we borrowed and swam. The waves were high, so just swimming was quite challenging.

After snorkeling, we enjoyed a waterslide from the boat. It was thrilling but fun.

We had breakfast and lunch on the boat, and the lunch burgers were delicious.

It took about 30 minutes to reach the snorkeling point, where we had about 2 hours for snorkeling and lunch. After that, we cruised around Kailua Bay in search of dolphins. I can't speak English, but the crew was very kind and friendly, providing explanations in Japanese.

We were able to see dolphins and managed to experience snorkeling, but the intense rocking created some memorable moments in a way, haha. This time we traveled in late February, but next time, if the weather is milder, I would like to participate again.

I stayed at the King Kamehameha Hotel right in front of Kailua Pier, so it was easy to walk there for the 7:30 AM meeting. Once on the boat, there was a buffet area with bread and fruit, and coffee and water were also available for free.

After about 40 to 50 minutes of traveling along the bay, they provided explanations about various buildings and scenery, all in English. I just enjoyed the atmosphere. The Kanoa II is a large catamaran, but the swaying in the open sea was quite significant. There were about 40 passengers, and it seemed that around 20% of them looked a bit green. I recommend taking motion sickness medication about an hour before boarding.

When we arrived at the snorkeling point, all passengers were gathered on the first floor for about 10 minutes of safety instructions, also in English. For lunch, the staff grilled hamburgers and vegetables on the spot, and you can make your own cheeseburger at the buffet. It was quite delicious! If you're not feeling seasick, definitely give it a try (laughs).

On the way back, it takes about another hour to return to Kailua Pier.

Among the participants, we were the only Japanese, but the handsome and beautiful staff frequently checked on us, so we were able to relax without worry. The sea water is cold, but the wind on the way back is also quite chilly. If you're in a wet swimsuit, you're bound to catch a cold. I recommend bringing something to wear over it, like a windbreaker.

船に乗り込むと、ビュッフェコーナーにパンとフルーツが置いてあり、コーヒーやお水も含め、取り放題です。
出発して40分～50分ほど、湾に沿って移動をし、その間いろんな建造物や風景の説明をしてくれるのですが、すべて英語です。雰囲気だけ楽しみました。
カノアII号は大きな双頭船ですが、外洋の揺れはかなり大きく、乗客は40名ほどいたでしょうか、そのうち2割ほどはグロッキーになっていたように見えました。乗船する1時間ほど前には酔い止めをしっかり飲んで参加されることをお勧めします。

シュノーケリングポイントに着くと、乗客全員が1階に集められ、注意事項の説明が10分ほどあります。これもすべて英語です。
緊急の時はホーンを5回鳴らすからすぐに船に戻ってね、サンゴの上には立たないでね、船からあまり離れないでね、後いろいろ言ってたと思うのですが、まぁ周りの人とあまり異なる行動をしなければOKかと思います。
シュノーケリングポイントは、深さ15メートルぐらいあるでしょうか。さすがに澄んでいてとてもキレイです。お魚もそこそこいます。ただ、水が冷たい！！
有料でウェットスーツも貸し出しているようなので、自信のない方は借りた方がいいかも。私も20分ほど泳いで寒さと波の高さにギブアップです。早々に船に引き上げました。
船はここで1時間ほど停泊しています。ずっと揺れてますのでつらい人にはつらいかも。

ランチはスタッフがその場で焼いてくれたハンバーグや野菜がビュッフェコーナーに並び、自分でチーズバーガーを作って食べます。かなり美味しかったですよ！酔ってなければぜひ召し上がってください（笑）。

そして帰りはまた小一時間ほどかけてカイルア桟橋に戻る感じです。

船は大きくてトイレも水洗、どなたかが書いていましたがそんじょそこらのトイレよりよっぽどキレイです。
バーコーナーがあって、ソフトドリンクは無料のようです。スタッフが各テーブルを回って飲み物いらないか？と聞きに来てくれます。スムージーやカクテルは有料のようです。

参加者のうち、日本人は私達だけでしたが、美男美女のスタッフがしょっちゅう様子を見に来てくれるので、気にせず過ごせました。
海の水も冷たいですが、行き帰りの風もかなり寒いです。濡れたままの水着だと漏れなく風邪をひきそうです。ウィンドブレーカーなど、上に羽織るものを持参される事をお勧めします。

I wanted to swim with dolphins and was looking into various tours, but I hesitated because I was scared of floating in deep water with just a life jacket and snorkel. That's when I found this tour! With this option, I could keep my feet on the ground the whole time, which made me feel safe, and I could definitely interact with the dolphins, so I decided right away! They also took a lot of photos, and although there was an extra charge, I think it was great to have those moments of interacting with the dolphins captured in pictures.

The staff spoke only English, but we had the boat to ourselves with just the two of us. On the way to the snorkeling spot, they stopped at sightseeing spots visible from the boat. Unfortunately, we only saw the dorsal fins of the dolphins. It was a watching tour, not a swimming with dolphins tour, so that's understandable.

Please make sure to print out your reservation and bring it with you; confirmation screens on smartphones are not accepted. Also, since you will be sitting on the edge of the boat and traveling for about an hour, it's a good idea to take motion sickness medication beforehand.

The water temperature is low, and it gets quite chilly after snorkeling, so please bring a jacket and a bath towel. We snorkeled at two locations and had light snacks twice, which was great!

It was a great snorkeling experience. They did a great job all around. Seeing Dolphins is a guarantee. They hang out just off the coast on the way to and from the snorkeling location. The food they served was great and included (breakfast/lunch). They provide some drinks for free with the food. Any smoothies or alcoholic drinks you must pay for and there is a bar on the boat for that. They provide rash gaurds, towels, fins, snorkels, various floatation devices (noodles, boards, etc...). I did start feeling a little sea sick and missed out the last 15 min of water time before we headed back. So I would recommend taking some Dramamine if you get motion sickness.

Absolutely amazing experience! Swam with so many dolphins; loved every moment. We were the only ones booked on to the boat so we literally had our own private tour! Our guide was lovely and gave us great information and stories about the island. We also got lots of time to snorkel and even saw two white tip reef sharks! Would definitely recommend this tour!

My 10-year-old son had an experience there. As mentioned in other reviews, the language barrier and budget are issues. I've been interested in Dolphin Quest for a while and thought I would let him participate if the opportunity arose. My son, who doesn't speak much English, joined a group with other foreign families and seemed to enjoy touching the dolphins. My wife and I, who did not participate, watched from the sidelines. While the pricing may be set based on costs for caring for the dolphins and labor, I thought it would be easier to participate if there were more discounts available. The photo prices are also high.
