Best Horseback Riding Experience so far
Reviewed by: Alina X., 2022/01/10My sisters and I all enjoyed this horseback riding and waterfall tour. The tour guide is very knowledgeable and nice. He gave us clear riding instructions and an interesting introduction about the valley and the plants. The waterfall and the view of the whole valley are awesome. We got the chance to taste the oranges picked from the valley. The horse I was riding kept eating or drinking while walking on the road or in the creek and was still under control. Thanks to the tour guide for helping us take some nice pictures. Overall, this is my best horseback riding so far.

Amazing experience!

Thanks for taking care of the special request on our food as well. Food wise- it was very well organized and catered. Breakfast and coffee at the coffee plantation was very apt. Wine tasting and Lunch was very well paired. Snacks and soda at the waterfalls was cool! Raincoats and umbrella was very helpful when it started raining while heading to the volcano view point. Superbly planned and catered to everyone’s needs. We will definitely recommend our friends and family.

Beautiful surroundings and luxury delivery down the valley to the beautiful horses. I am a very inexperienced rider and I felt very comfortable from the drive down the steep terrain to leading my horse on the trail. My horse was very responsive and this made taking in the scenery a easy, enjoyable and unforgettable experience! Simba was a great horse!

心が洗われた。
Reviewed by: Emi oc, 2021/09/10コロナ禍もありマスク着用でのツアーとなりましたが乗馬時にはマスクを外して大丈夫でした。ガイドさんが前後に1人ずつ付いてくれて後ろの方でも説明を聞くことが出来ました。途中で車が来た時には道の端に馬を誘導するのですが結構上手に出来たり小川でお水を飲ませてあげたりとちょっとお世話してる感もあって楽しかったです。ワイピオキャニオンの素晴らしい景色は忘れられないものとなりました。

Reviewed by: Sue, 2021/08/16Didn’t have any expectation beyond seeing incredible scenery in our visit to Waipio Valley. We were not disappointed with the views and were totally surprised with the stories told by an Hawaiian youth resident of the valley of how the valley was occupied and its history through the centuries. We’re so glad we chose this tour while visiting the big island. We were three generations traveling and our youngest - a 3 year old - managed quite well. Anyone interested in this tour should be aware that the four wheel drive vehicle will travel down and up the 1300 feet steep drop into and out of the valley. Not for the faint hearted although a person can easily close their eyes to ensure they will not miss this historical and sacred valley.

Ultimate Hawaii Circle Island Sightseeing, Kilauea Volcano & Waterfall Tour
Worthwhile tour
Reviewed by: Sophia, 2021/08/06Pros: It was worthwhile to do this tour to see the entire Big Island all in one day, without having to do any driving. Adam was very informative and shared many Hawaiian mythical stories along the way. Enjoyed the extra stops at the bakery for Malasadas, the driver got us all plain ones, and the fruit stand we stopped at, at the end.
Cons: many errors due to the fact that Veltra books the tour, through the Hawaii Activities, but they don’t run the tour. So the lunch options were not the options listed when we booked. They called to clarify the meals for our group and still got the lunches completely wrong. No chicken on the salads, not enough sandwiches and too many plain veggie salads. Also, we booked a private tour. We booked a private tour. The website said private tour up to 10, we had 9, so we were under the impression we would be the only group on the tour. This was not the case! There was a group of three in the van when it arrived to pick us up. And the other group had much better looking lunches than ours for some reason. Another disappointing thing was that it was rainy and cold for the volcano portion of the tour. Our tour guide informed us that rainy weather is very very common at the volcano park and near Hilo. We were all dressed for warm weather and we were all freezing for a large part of the tour. Our van had 6 rain jackets, but 12 passengers. It would have been very helpful if the person that called to confirm the tour would have told us there is a chance it might be rainy. One last thing, we accidentally left some candy purchases on the tour bus, we called the company, but have not heard back about retrieving these purchases.

They LOVED the tour from the very minute they met our guides, Chico and Tracy. We got the best of everything that day: weather, horses, views, guides and Hawaiian experience. We appreciated the high spirited personalities and the great knowledge Chico and Tracy, valley residents themselves, shared with us of life in the Valley of the Kings from times past to the life of today’s Hawaiian families. I don’t want to give any more details so it will be your own special experience. I guarantee you’ll have FUN and if you don’t, well then, you just don’t know how to have fun!

I threw up because of road sick and maybe too much caffeine and food coma in the morning (I assumed - I ate my bf&coffee b4 the tour started and ate their bf & tasted their coffee again). The lady guide took care of me well. Other people in the trip were nice too. Some lady gave me a motion sickness pill and some lady asked me how I was feeling. Thanks!
We went to 6-7 places. I like the black sand beach the most. Walking through the volcano tube was fun. But another volcano attraction was not I expected because we couldn’t get too close to the volcano. It was dangerous Lol. So I couldn’t get a clear pics of the crater.
Big island is a black island (in my opinion) because of dry black lava spreading all over the island.
They picked me up in the morning and dropped me off at the Kona airport in the evening. I flew for a day trip. Call them when you arrived at the airport. They need a reminder. I think my tour guides were Gary and Gabbie. I bought this trip to celebrate my bday. Great serviceThank you!

Memorable horseback riding in a uniquely Hawaiian setting
Reviewed by: tweist, 2021/05/17We greatly enjoyed our morning horse ride in the Waipio Valley. Our guides are local residents of the valley who are very proud of the history and the culture. The horses were calm and very sure footed. The lack of in depth introductions about the history and culture of the valley and the unpredictable weather in the valley were largely compensated by the hospitality of the guides, the almost mystic atmosphere of the majestic valley, and arrays of exotic flora of the fertile valley floor. I wish the black sand beach was part of the tour. I might be asking too much but horse riding on the black sand beach could be the highlight of a perfect tour!

A very special experience
Reviewed by: Andrea from Hilo, 2021/05/08Pete and Kiera were outstanding guides for this sweet stroll through the back roads of the sacred land of Waipio Valley. I am a former horse owner and have ridden for years, and found my horse well cared for and responsive.
My friend loved the experience too! He is an intermediate rider and the guides did an excellent job of helping all levels feel safe. The ride down and back up to the valley is part of the fun too!
Don't pass up an opportunity to take this ride while you are on this beautiful Island!
