The scenery is fabulous and the guides have a huge and amazing knowledge of the valley, its inhabitants whether human or animal, as well as the plentiful edible plant life. They really made the trek perfect. Highly recommend whether a first timer or an experienced rider, you will not regret it.

初めての乗馬体験
Reviewed by: Misae, 2016/12/25ワイピオ渓谷の下まで行ってみたくて、ツアーを探していました。乗馬もしたことがなかったので不安でしたが、日本人で参加している方がいるのならと思いツアーを申し込みました。背の高い女性がガイドで集合場所まで迎えに来てくれて、チェックイン後に4×4と馬が描かれた大きな車で厩舎まで向かいましたが、そのときに日本語は分からないからと言われました。不安になりましたが「あぶない！」だけは言えるから、よく聞いてねと。乗馬の説明は英語とジェスチャーで、日本語の注意書きや簡単な説明文は貼り出されていました。英語が分からなくても馬がよく調教されているので大丈夫ですが、ガイドさんの途中での説明も聞き取りたいのであれば中級以上の英語力が必要かとおもいます。馬は一列に勝手に並んでくれて、歩いてくれますし手綱も簡単な動きだけでした。川の中をどんどん進んだり、川を渡ったり、草を食べに道から外れたこともありましたが、すぐに列に戻ってくれる賢い馬たちでした。渓谷の下のタロイモの畑や滝もゆっくり観られて、1時間半はあっというまに過ぎました。午前のツアーであれば、午後から出かけられるので楽しめますね。天気にも恵まれ、参加してよかったです。写真を写す余裕がなかったのですが、途中でガイドさんが写してくれました。また、参加したいです！

貴重な体験

ただ、本当に蚊が多く、長袖長ズボンでもたかってきたので気を付けてください。

ハワイ島の秘境！？

普通では見れない、昔ながらのハワイを感じることが出来ます。
参加者は我が家の他は、欧米の家族の二組でした。
説明は全部英語ですが、問題ないです。
川を馬に乗って渡ったり、タロイモ畑のわきを通ったりしました。

変わり果てたツアー内容
Reviewed by: Kahala, 2016/10/264～5年前に参加した際とはコースも時間配分も全く変わっていました。
集合場所からワイピオの谷底までに乗車するワゴンの中の異臭が酷過ぎて、
メンバー皆気分が悪くなってしまいました。
ワゴンにはエアコンが付いておらず、扉を開け放って走行するのですが、
後部座席には風が入って来ないので悪臭＆熱気でキツイ状態でした。
以前なら谷底の庭園で写真撮影時間を取ってもらい、その後馬車に乗換えてゆっくりと村を巡ったのですが、
今回は道端でバタバタと乗換え、スル～っと一周しただけで、
写真スポットでの停車もしてもらえず、乗客全員が日本人だったにも拘わらず英語の案内を早口でまくしたててさっさと済ませた感で非常に残念でした。
メインのヒイラヴェの滝が見える箇所でも止まってもらえなかったのはあんまりだったので、
帰りのワゴンに乗換えた後に頼み込んで撮影させてもらいました。
以前のツアーに比べるとこの金額でこの内容は酷過ぎると感じ、
メンバー全員もう二度と参加することは無いですしオススメも出来ません

楽しめました

なかなか言うことの聞かない馬でしたが、それも愛嬌でした。
小川を上って行ったりして、１時間半ほどがアッと言う間でした。
鞍に掛ける貴重品入れの袋を貸してくれますので、カメラやペットボトルも
それに入れることができました。

英語力はそれほど必要ありませんが、ある程度は理解できないときついと思います。
英語に自信のない方は日本人のツアーが最近できたので、高いですがそちらの方が良いかも。
(ずーっと現地の人しかガイドができなかったらしいのですが、やっと日本人がガイドをやることを許されたらしいです。)
ツアーは2時間たっぷり乗馬します。
ずーっと乗りっぱなしです。結構疲れます。
馬はきちんと調教されている子達なので、乗馬経験がほぼない私でも安心して乗れました。
ワイピオ渓谷の中をぐるぐると乗馬して回ります。
川の中をじゃぶじゃぶと進んでいくのがとても楽しかったです。
オアフでも乗馬したことあるのですが、断然こちらがおすすめです！！
ただ、コバエのような虫が結構いるので虫が苦手な方はきついかも。。

緑たっぷりの自然

バンで馬小屋まで向かうドライブが、これでもか！というぐらいの坂を下り、ハラハラドキドキでした 笑
川を車や馬でジャバジャバ渡る体験は、今までなく、とても満足できました。
私の馬は、少しジャジャ馬君でしたが、かえって楽しかったです。
レンタルのヘルメットの匂いケアをしてくれれば、尚良し。（覚悟していったがやはり臭い）
総じて、素晴らしい体験ができ、夫婦共々、大満足です！

アドベンチャー気分を味わえます
Reviewed by: こにー, 2016/09/27深い渓谷の底まで降りて行き、ジャングルの中を馬で進んでいきます。
車で狭く曲がりくねった急な道を降りていくのは、遊園地のアトラクションに乗り続けているかのようですが、車窓からは美しい渓谷と黒砂海岸を楽しめます。
馬上の散策は、途中、何度か川を越えたり、アドベンチャー気分を味わうことができました。
馬に乗るのは初めてでしたが、説明の英語は難しくないですし、訓練された馬なので勝手に列を形成して付いて行ってくれる感じでした。
ガイドも列の前後に一名ずついて、様子を見て何かあればサポートしてくれるので、安心して楽しめました。

地図が違いました
Reviewed by: かすみん, 2016/09/19待ち合わせ場所の地図を参考にして現地に向かいましたが、その地図が間違っていたようで、ずいぶんと迷いました。早急に地図を差し替えたほうが良いと思います。ツアー自体は、それなりに面白かったです。蚊はたくさんいたので、虫よけなどの注意書きは大変助かりました。うちは6歳の子どもと一緒だったので、やはり乗馬よりも馬車でのツアーが良かったと思います。

川を行く馬上での貴重な体験

そしてお待ちかねのお馬さんに乗ります。
説明は全部英語でされるのでなんとなく心配（というかなんといっているか聞き取れない）でしたが、一緒のツアーの在米の日本人の方が通訳をしてくれて助かりました。ありがとうございました。そしてその方の息子さんが中学生くらいなのにかわいくて気遣ってくれました。
うまく馬に乗り移れるか心配だった私がうまく乗り移れると「さすが～」とか言ってくれたりして・・
乗馬体験はなんどかしているいて、そのたびにかちんこちんで疲れるのですが、今回は自然の中でゆったりと楽しめました。
なにしろワイルドな道なんですよ。乗馬そのものは安心して乗れますが・・
途中では滝が見られたり、川をざばざば行ったりとなかなかできない体験ではないでしょうか？
ワイピオ渓谷の乗馬体験は自然派にも、乗馬をしたい人にもおすすめのツアーだと思います。
英語が堪能でなくても、十分楽しめますよ。ただし、道すがらの説明は聞こえません。英語だからではなく離れると聞こえないんです。なので日本語でも英語でも同じかもしれません。

I booked for 8-29-2016 with the voucher confirmation for the 29th of August but was contacted by the host stating that we are schedule for 8-31-2016. We have already left the Condo, on our way to the tour which is a 1 1/2 hrs away when I got a call from the host of the tour!!!! We have already been driving for about 1/2 hr at that point. So then the tour was cancelled for 8-31-2016 due to the Hurricane threat and was told that I will be refunded. So I am back in my home town without doing any of the things I wanted to do!!!!!

Breath taking tour back in time

His humour and eagerness to share his vast knowledge of Hawaii history, as well as the flora and fauna of the valley made the tour quite memorable. However the ability to rid beautiful beautiful ,well mannered horses in such a magical historical setting made the the rid unforgettable. My hats off to Jaime
and the rest of the wonderful staff that made this the
best Horse back ride that we have ever exprienced. This is definately some
thing that everyone should experience at least once in their lifetime.

Reviewed by: Joan, 2016/08/22I have wanted to experience Waipio Valley since I moved here three years ago and so was looking forward to this trip that one of my friends found online and organized. It was fine. We three were surprised that the tour on the wagon was as short as it was. The gal driver was great in her enthusiasm and information. I would have thought we would have seen more and spent more time in the valley. If you do not want to walk up or down (which we were very glad we did not have to do), then this trip is an option since they take you down and up in a van. The van was older without AC and the driver left the sliding door open for air. Not sure I would want to get back in that vehicle since great brakes are the most important feature and I did not have confidence that this was that up-to-date.

スリル満点&陽気なおじさんの解説付き！
Reviewed by: ハワイ最高！, 2016/08/20事前申し込みの上レンタカーを飛ばして集合場所へ、それらしき店はあるものの閉店しており人の気配なし！集合時間を過ぎても誰も現れず…不安になり店舗横にあるツアー事務所(トイレ有り)らしき場所の電話(携帯圏外です)から連絡すると名前を聞かれ「ドライバーが向かっているからしばらく待って」との事、他グループの日本人の方と「ハワイ時間だね〜」などと話していると10分遅れでおじさんが四駆のワゴンで登場、ほいほいと車に乗せられいよいよ谷底へ！谷底という言葉がズバリで日本ではまず見かけない「帰りに車が登れるの？」みたいな超急斜面をのそりのそりとワゴンで下ります、途中渓谷についての色々な話や見事な滝が見れたりと恐怖心も和らぎます(^ ^)谷へ下ると「ちょっと待ってて〜」ワゴンを降ろされ小川で遊びながらしばし待っているとおじさんが馬車で再登場！馬車に乗り換えガタガタ道を進みます。
途中マンゴーやアボカド、バナナ等に歓声をあげながら小川を越え渓谷のビューポイントを案内してくれます、途中写真のリクエストにも快く馬車を止めてくれたりお話は全て英語ですが気さくなおじさんの案内にとても楽しいひと時を過ごせました。

大自然の中での乗馬は最高！ ですが…

が、このツアーはナチュラルスピードの英語が聞き取れ、しっかりと英語で意思表示できるくらいの中級英語力は絶対必要なツアーだと思いました。
30分前に集合場所に到着し、受付場所がよくわからないのでチェックインは必要なのか？頑張って英語で聞いたところ、NO。時間ギリギリで別の日本人ツアー参加者に聞いたところ、奥で手続しましたと言われ慌てて手続き。すると、英語であまりにも遅いとケンカ腰でまくしたてられました。
ツアーが始まってから途中までは何事もなく、楽しく過ごしていたのですが、妻の馬が後ろの馬にぶつかられて驚き暴れだしてロデオ状態になり、妻は半泣き状態になりましたが、ここでも妻の乗り方が悪いと叱責する始末。
素人が普通に乗って馬が暴れるようなリスクが一定の可能性であることも、頭に入れて申込みを検討された方がいいと思うツアーです。
ツアーの内容自体は大満足でしたが、妻はとても怖く、不快な思いをしました。せめて馬が暴れだしたのは自分のせいじゃないとしっかり英語で話せたらとも…
何もなければ、見よう見まねで楽しめますが、記載したリスクがあることは皆さんにお伝えしたいと思います。チップを受け取るときだけでしたよ、我々に笑顔だったのは…

乗馬と景色を堪能！
Reviewed by: Mie, 2016/07/27カイルアコナから集合場所まで車で約1時間半、地図を頼りに迷うことなく到着。お店のバンでワイピオ渓谷の急坂を下り乗馬のスタート地点に到着。コースの途中では川を渡ったり、幾つかの滝を見たり、脇道に自生する植物や果物を見たりしながら進みます。馬も大人しく、危険を感じることもなくあっという間に楽しい1時間半ほどが過ぎてします。歩いては簡単に行けないところへ行けるお勧めのツアーです。

This was a Great Time
Reviewed by: Steve C, 2016/07/24This was one of the top highlights of our trip. The van ride into and out of the valley is an adventure all of it's own. The guides were just awesome. The family of one had lived in the valley for generations and he was very knowledgeable about the area. The other one was just a riot. The horses also had more spunk than your average trail horse, too. Some of them had been wild horses not too long ago. I don't know if these guys do a longer ride, but I would definitely sign up for it if they did.

美しい渓谷と静寂

冷たいビールを少々飲む、幸せな気分をまんきつできました。馬とのふれあいも癒されます。海岸線の美しさにかんどうしました。

これに参加したくてハワイ島へ

まったく初心者の私でも十分に参加できました。
先頭と最後尾にゲストがついてくれます。
私たちのチームではないのですが、すれ違った別のチームには小学生くらいの子供もいました。
ただ、日本語は一切通じませんので、ご注意を。
とっても素敵・雄大な景色の中を馬に乗って散歩・森林浴するという素晴らしい体験となりました。
ちなみに本当かどうかわからないのですが、午後の方が雲が集まりやすいと聞いたので、
午前中の会参加しました。
前日は近く（このツアーの集合場所から車で10分ほど）のWaipio Wayside B&Bに宿泊しましたが、このB&Bは本当におすすめです。また宿泊したいです。

初体験

Great first time horseback riding!
Reviewed by: Jenny, 2016/06/04The tour guides were very nice and skilled at their jobs: driving down the rocky, curvy road to the horse barn and then helping everyone enjoy their time on their horses. Although my horse was not the most obedient, the guides always tried to help me keep up with the group and have patience with me and the horse. I definitely enjoyed my first time horseback riding especially since the walk around the area was very beautiful. After this experience, I definitely learned how to ride a horse (lead it, understand its needs, etc) and also appreciate how beautiful Waipio valley is.

Horseback Riding Fin
