I participated with my 5-year-old daughter, so there were three of us. The boat was almost entirely private. Although my child was small, the guide was very attentive and took great care of her, which was a huge help. We had a very rare experience swimming close to dolphins and being surrounded by them. It was the best experience to swim with so many dolphins multiple times. The hospitality was excellent, as they even looked after my daughter when she got tired and fell asleep. Parents also enjoyed dolphin swimming and snorkeling to the fullest. I highly recommend it! One thing to note is that a tip for the captain is required when disembarking. It seems to be about 10% of the payment amount. I didn't have much cash on me, so I couldn't tip much... Please be aware of this. It would be helpful if such information was included at the reservation stage. The experience was fantastic!

We chose this tour after seeing a feature on TV about the staff member Daisuke.

I usually don't give perfect scores, but to put it simply, choosing this tour was definitely the right decision. It became the best memory. It’s worth more than five stars.

When we entered the sea, Daisuke and Captain Nawata coordinated to predict the dolphins' path and guided us to the pod of dolphins.

We were able to swim with the dolphins several times during one dive. You can really swim close to them.

Even when searching for dolphins from the boat, they kept the conversation enjoyable, so I never felt bored.

I wanted to go snorkeling, so I joined this tour. I was a bit worried because I brought my 85-year-old mother, but the cruise staff prepared various swimming equipment so that anyone, regardless of age, could enjoy themselves. My mother was able to see tropical fish and coral reefs for the first time without getting her face wet, and she was very moved. I felt it was worth bringing her along, and I'm really glad I participated. I was also concerned about seasickness, but it turned out to be completely fine. In fact, my husband took motion sickness medication and ended up feeling sleepy, and I later thought I shouldn't have given it to him. At 60 years old, my spouse and I participated. It was our first time snorkeling, and I was worried about our age, but we signed up after being encouraged by comments from those with experience. We were the only Japanese participants, but the staff and other participants were kind, so we managed even without understanding English.

We received a Japanese instruction manual in advance for the history and location, as well as how to use the snorkel and goggles, but we left without having time to read it. The snorkeling experience was sufficient with just a brief lesson from the instructor. Apparently, Kealakekua Bay is the best snorkeling spot on the Big Island, and there were so many types of fish and coral that we could have watched them forever. I was surprised by the size of the purple sea urchins and the black sea urchins. We were also able to see dolphins perfectly. The rafting on the military rubber boat was thrilling, and I was very satisfied. We made wonderful memories.

However, you really need to be careful about sunburn. Once you get on the rubber boat, you can't let go of the ropes, so it's essential to apply sunscreen all over your body before boarding. I forgot to apply it on the underside of my feet and ended up with a bad sunburn on my unprotected calves. I brought a cream-type sunscreen from Japan, but all the foreign participants were using spray sunscreen. There are super strong sprays with SPF 100 available, so I recommend buying sunscreen locally. 歴史や場所について、シュノーケルやメガネの使い方は、日本語の説明書を事前にくれましたが、読む間もなく出発。シュノーケリングは、インストラクターのワンポイントレッスンだけでも十分でした。アラケクア湾はハワイ島で一番のシュノーケリングポイントらしいですが、魚も珊瑚も種類が多く、いつまで見ていても飽きません。ムラサキウニやバフンウニが大きいことにびっくり。イルカもバッチリ見ることができました。軍用ゴムボートでのラフティングもスリルがあり、大満足。楽しい思い出ができました。

しかし、日焼けには本当に注意が必要です。ゴムボートに乗ってからは、ロープから手を離せなくなるので、乗船前に日焼け止めを全身に塗ることが必須です。私は、足の裏側に塗り忘れ失敗しました。シュノーケリング中に、無防備だったふくらはぎがひどく日焼けしてしまいました。私の日焼け止めは日本から持参したクリームタイプですが、外国の参加者は皆さんスプレー式の日焼け止めを使っていました。SPF100という超強力スプレーもあるので、日焼け止めは現地で買うのがお薦めです。説明書を読み、日焼け止めを完璧に塗る時間を考え、早めにチェックインするのが良いですね。また、ハワイ島に来たら参加したいと思います。

It was my first time snorkeling, but with the support of Daisuke and Yuko, I was able to challenge myself with confidence. We kept encountering groups of dolphins, and I was constantly amazed by the wild dolphins I was seeing for the first time. We participated as a couple in our 30s with our 4-year-old son. This was our first time on the Big Island, and we were looking for activities to fully enjoy the ocean there. Since this activity allowed children aged 4 and up, we made a reservation right away.

Before getting on the boat, I was a bit worried about whether my 4-year-old would be safe and not fall off, but he was able to sit on a platform in the middle of the boat, resting his feet on my wife's legs, so there was no worry of him being thrown off. (He did bounce around a bit when the boat hit waves, but it seemed like he enjoyed that!) The captain, along with a female staff member and her child, was very attentive to our son throughout the trip. During snorkeling, my wife and I initially took turns looking after our son on the boat while the other snorkeled, but at one point, the captain said, "I'll watch the child, so you two go ahead," which allowed my wife and me to enjoy snorkeling together, and we were very grateful for that. They also provided a child-sized float (with a transparent center so he could see underwater), but our son didn't want to go into the water and didn't use it. I think even those with small children can participate without too much worry.

The sandwiches were truly delicious (I ended up eating two after the captain recommended them). The snacks made our son very happy, and thanks to that, he waited patiently on the boat without fussing. We had about an hour and a half of snorkeling time, which was very satisfying.

Afterward, we returned to the harbor while touring the magnificent cliffs shaped by volcanic activity and ocean waves, with the captain providing explanations. During this time, he also entertained us with sharp turns and jumps of the boat.

Here are some points to note based on our experience. All conversations were in English. Even with limited English, we could communicate our needs and understand the captain, so there were no issues participating in the activity. However, the explanations about the ecology of dolphins and whales, as well as about Captain Cook and the cliffs (which I believe were about the goddess Pele) were all in English, so I couldn't catch everything with my limited understanding. Personally, I was very satisfied with the experience even without the explanations.

Also, to take photos, a waterproof camera is essential. When boarding the boat, we had to gather our belongings at the front, and it wasn't easy to grab them quickly when we spotted dolphins or whales. One couple brought their iPhone in a waterproof pouch hanging around their neck and also had an underwater instant camera. We regretted not bringing ours as well.

I truly believe that the content we received for this price offers excellent cost performance. We had an amazing time!

ボートに乗るまでは4歳の子供だとボートから振り落とされないかな？と不安もあったのですが、ボートの真ん中の台のような場所で、妻が伸ばした足の上に乗るかたちで座らせてもらえ、振り落とされる心配もありませんでした。（ボートがバウンドする際はぴょんぴょん跳ねてましたが笑、それも楽しんでいたようです）
また、キャプテン（と同乗の女性スタッフとそのお子さん）も、子供のことを終始気にかけていただき、シュノーケリングの際には、最初は私か妻がボート上で子供の世話をし、順番にシュノーケリングしていたのですが、途中でキャプテンが「子供を見ていてあげるから二人で行っておいで」と言っていただき、妻と二人でシュノーケリングを楽しむことができ非常に助かりました。子供用のビート板状の浮き具（真ん中が透明になっていて海の中が見える）も出していただいたのですが、子供が海に入るのを嫌がり使いませんでした。小さいお子さんがおられる方でも、比較的心配なさらずに参加いただけると思います。

今回参加した際のアクティビティの内容です。
同乗の方はアメリカ人のご夫婦二組（40代くらい？）と私たちの計7名でした。
港を出発してまずは港近くのポイントでイルカの群れを見ました。数え切れないくらいのイルカを間近で見ることができこの時点で感動！です。その後、ボートを沖まで走らせ鯨の観察スポットまで移動します。ハワイ島の雄大な景色を横目に見ながらのラフティングは最高に気持いい！の一言。その後、5回ほどボートを走らせている途中で鯨の群れを発見して間近で観察しました。これには長男も「鯨さんの顔が見えた！」と感動していました。後ほど、現地の方に聞いたところでは今年は鯨の当たり年だそうです。そして、ボートを南へ走らせ、キャプテンクック碑のある湾へ移動してシュノーケリングです。ここは有名なシュノーケーリングスポットらしく、他にも何隻かシュノーケリングのボートがすでに停泊していました。かなりの種類の熱帯魚を間近で観察することが出来るので、シュノーケリングスポットになっているのも納得！です。ボート上でのランチは手作りのチキンサンドイッチとスナック、ジュースでした。サンドイッチは本当においしかったです（キャプテンに勧められるがまま２つも食べてしまいました）。スナックは子供が大喜びで、これのおかげかボート上で待っている間もグズることなく大人しく待っていてくれました。シュノーケリングの時間は1時間半くらいはあって大満足です。
その後、火山の活動と海の波が作り出した洞窟のように削られた雄大な岸壁をキャプテンの解説付きで巡りながら港まで戻ります。その間もボートを急旋回やジャンプさせたりして楽しませてくれました。

以下、参加した上での注意点です。
基本的に全ての会話は英語です。片言レベルでもこちらの要求を伝えることや、キャプテンとの意思疎通は出来るので、アクティビティへの参加という点では問題ありませんが、途中、イルカやクジラの生態の解説、キャプテンクックや岸壁（火神ペレのことだったと思う）の解説は全て英語ですので、片言レベルでは聞き取ることができませんでした。個人的には解説がなくても体験だけでも大満足でした。
あと、写真を撮るためには、防水対策をしたカメラが必須です。荷物はボートに乗り込む際にボート前方に纏めておくのですが、イルカや鯨を発見したときにすぐに取り出すことができません。同乗したご夫婦は、iPhoneを防水パックにいれて首からぶら下げておられ、また水中用のインスタントカメラを持参されておられました。我々も持参すれば良かった、と少し後悔しました。

この価格でこの内容は本当にコストパフォーマンスが高いと思います。

This is a 5-hour activity.
The day before, I received a notification that the meeting time would be 2 hours earlier than planned due to bad weather. It was helpful to get this notice, as sometimes there is no communication about time changes.
The activity involves going out to sea on an engine-powered rubber boat. The boat jumps over the waves, which adds quite a thrill and makes it enjoyable.

当日は風が強めで波は高いので跳ねるかもと言われていましたが、想像してたよりは大丈夫でした。
船を走らせて直ぐにイルカの群れに遭遇しました。
イルカは好奇心旺盛なので船に近づいてくれて並走してくれました。
ゆっくりと写真を撮る時間を設けてもらえ沢山のイルカの写真を撮れました。
また、さらに船を走らせてると次はクジラに遭遇しました。
クジラは警戒心が強いのか近くで見ることはできませんでしたが、ブリーチを見ることができて迫力満点で興奮しました！
これの時点で、かなり満足していましたが、船はさらに走り、波の穏やかな入江に行きシュノーケリングを堪能しました。
時間も1時間以上取ってもらえたので大満足です。
水の透明度は良くて珊瑚もたくさんあるので熱帯魚も多く見れました。
その後昼食を取り港に戻ったのですが途中に岸壁にある火の女神ペレが降臨したという場所やその他沢山の海からしか見れない観光スポットを案内してくれました。

必要な時に伝えれば何度でも出してくれます。バッグも水のかからない場所に置いてくれるので心配ないです。
悪かった点。
基本、英語のみのツアーです。ガイドさん、船長さんも若干日本語を話せますが同船者が皆英語なので基本英語です。片言、単語レベルで日本語を話してくれますがコミュニケーションはとれません。
私たち夫婦は留学経験もあるので英語は問題なく、ツアー自体は大満足ですが、英語が苦手な方は少し辛いかもしれません。（ホームページにも書かれてなかったと思います。書いてあったとしても全面に出てないので見逃す方が多いと思います。）
あと、船酔いをする人には向きません。ボートが10人乗りぐらいの小さなものなので走ってる間はいいのですが停泊中は大きく揺れるので船酔いのきつい人は辛いかもしれません。酔い止めは必須です。
あと、ツアータイトルに溶岩洞窟アドベンチャーとありましたが溶岩洞窟は行きませんでした。
また、船に屋根が無いので日焼け止めやサングラスセットもお忘れなく。
最初に説明はされますが英語です。
総合評価は大満足です。しかし、英語でも大丈夫（分からなくても気にしない）という方にはお勧めですが絶対日本語じゃなきゃだめという人にはお勧めできません。
それを差し引いても値段面を考慮するとお値打ちなツアーなのではないでしょうか。
私は友人に是非とも勧めたいアクティビティーです。

I participated with my wife and our middle school son, and we were extremely satisfied with the tour as we were able to see not only dolphins but also the whales we had dreamed of.

This time of year is suitable for whale watching, and while searching for dolphins, we also got to see whales spouting quite close by. Whales are strictly protected, so we couldn’t approach them, but again, the professionals did a great job. We were able to see the whales up close. 相手は野生のイルカですので、まずどこにいるのかを探すことになりますが、出港直後すぐにイルカの群れを発見。期待がいやがおうにも盛り上がります。ツアーに同行してくれたキャプテンの縄田さん、シュノーケリングを担当するダイスケさんが的確にポイントを判断し、合図に合わせて海に入ると想像以上のイルカたちの群れが目の前に。決して無理やりイルカに近づくのではなく、彼らの動きを読んであらかじめ彼らが通ると思われる位置に船を止め、海に入ったところをイルカたちが通過していくのですが、やはりプロですね。合計100頭以上のイルカたちを間近に見ることができました。近い時は1、2mという距離まで近いところを楽しげに泳いでいくイルカたち、最高の経験でした。

この時期はホエールウオッチングに適した時期ということもあり、イルカを探す間にもかなり近くでクジラが潮を吹く姿が観れました。クジラも厳しく保護されていますので、こちらからクジラに近づくことはできないのですが、やはりプロですね。かなり近くでクジラを見ることができました。圧巻だったのはシュノーケリングの時にクジラの声が聞こえたことです。すごく愛おしい声でしたよ！

同じようなツアーは他にもあるようですがマナーが悪い団体もあるらしく、当日もCoast Guardが取り締まりを行っていました。今回参加したAloha kona Toursさんは、その点しっかりとしたポリシーと経験をお持ちという印象で、とても安心して楽しめました。

ただ、息子が船酔いで大変でした。今回は幸い他のグループがいなかったので、息子の状況に合わせて途中で休憩をとっていただけたので持ち直しましたが、酔いやすい方はやはり酔い止めを飲んでいかれた方がよいと思います。息子もかなり辛そうでしたが、イルカやクジラの姿とスタッフの方々の温かい対応で最後まで頑張ることができました。

Two years ago, I was so moved during my first participation that I wanted to meet the dolphins again, so this is my second time.

On January 9th, my friend and I participated in a Captain Zodiac tour. We were the only two Japanese among 16 foreigners, and I was anxious because I had heard there wouldn't be a Japanese guide. We took a boat to Kealakekua Bay, and at first, I was scared because the boat was moving at such high speed that I felt like I might be thrown off. But gradually, it became fun. シュノーケリングでは珊瑚がすごく綺麗で、魚も人に慣れているのか近くまで寄っても逃げず、じっくり観察できました。シュノーケリングの時間を多く取ってくれているので、疲れて一度ボートに上がって休憩した後、もう一度海に入ることができ、ゆっくり楽しめました。ただ私達は前日にシュノーケリングを経験していたので問題なかったですが、初めての人だと説明が全て英語なので、その点が少し不安かなと感じました。でもキャプテンがすごく優しく、色々と身振り手振りでしてくれるので、大丈夫な気もします。
洞窟体験では洞窟近くにボートに近づいて、洞窟について説明してくれるという感じだったので、洞窟探検かな？という印象でした。でも帰りにイルカの群れや海亀に会えて、大満足の内容でした。
日本では体験できないようなアクティビティだと思うので、ハワイ島に来たらぜひ参加することをお勧めします！

We participated as a couple. Since we had a rental car, we joined the local meeting plan. I mistakenly went to the wrong meeting place, but it seemed to be a common issue, and they came to check on us, so we arrived safely.

I usually get seasick easily, but for some reason, I was completely fine this time. Before swimming with the dolphins, we spotted whales two or three times, and one of those times, we were able to see them incredibly close.

We found the main group of dolphins! Everyone quickly got ready, and they were really close!! We could swim within reach of them, and we did so multiple times. There were participants who weren't great swimmers, but our guide, Daisuke, escorted them. Since we could swim relatively freely, those who were good at swimming could enjoy themselves.

It was truly a fun tour, and I felt like I could swim forever! Captain Nawata and guide Daisuke are both very knowledgeable about the ocean, whales, and dolphins. If I visit the Big Island again, I will definitely participate again.

すぐ船酔いする私ですが、このときはなぜかまったく平気でした。

メインのイルカも群れで発見!すぐにみんなで準備をして、ほんとに間近!!
手を伸ばせば届く範囲で泳ぐことができました。それも何度も。
泳ぎの苦手な参加者の方もいらっしゃいましたが、ガイドのダイスケさんがエスコートしてくれます。ある程度自由に泳げるので、泳ぎの得意な方はそれぞれ泳げます。
ほんとに楽しいツアーでいくらでも泳いでいたい気持ちでいっぱいでした！
船長の縄田さん・ガイドのダイスケさんも海・クジラ・イルカちゃんを知り尽くしている方々です。
またハワイ島を訪れたら、必ず参加すると思います。

私はシュノーけリングやダイビングは何回か経験していますが

すぐに慣れて楽しんでいました。

イルカって本当にかわいいですね。愛おしくなりました。

後日、いろんなツアーのガイドさんや、レストランなどでも
縄田さんのイルカのツアーに参加したとお話ししたら皆さん全員、
”縄田さんがハワイ島で一番のイルカのエキスパートだからね！”と
おっしゃっていました。
また次回も絶対に縄田さんのツアーに参加します。

あと、この日キャプテンのタカさんがスキューバダイビングもしていらっしゃるとのことで、こちらのツアーの後にタカさんと電話でお話ししました。
日程が合わず今回は残念でしたが、次回はタカさんにスキューバダイビングをお願いします。

Since it was our first time in Hawaii with the whole family, we were looking for activities that we could enjoy all day long. My mother found this activity online and wanted us all (five people) to participate. What she liked about it was that the boat looked fun, we could go snorkeling, and we could see caves!

When we arrived on the day of the activity and went to the office to check in, I thought my mother, who doesn't speak English, would have trouble understanding since it was English only. However, there was a guide paper in Japanese, and they spoke slowly and clearly, which made me feel relieved.

Since we didn't wear swimsuits, we were told to change in the restroom as there were no changing rooms, so I recommend wearing your swimsuit from the hotel. There were only eight people in our group, so the boat felt spacious, and perhaps because of the private atmosphere, everyone felt like friends, taking pictures and looking for dolphins, which was a lot of fun.

For snorkeling, there were life jackets and some kind of floatation aids available, so even those who are not good swimmers could enjoy snorkeling safely, and the kids had a great time too.

One disappointing thing was the cave. I found myself wondering, "Is this it?" Since it was labeled as caving, I had high expectations. However, if you think of it as just a fun activity with dolphin watching and snorkeling, it was a worthwhile experience, and we had a meaningful time.

初めて家族全員でのハワイなので一日中遊べるアクティビティーを探していた所、母がこのアクティビティーを希望し全員(5人)で参加させていただきました。
　母がネットで見て気に入った所は、まずボートが楽しそうでシュノーケリングまで出来て洞窟も観られる！でした。

　当日現地に着いて受付を済ませるためオフィスに行くと英語オンリーでの対応だったので英語の話せない母には理解出来ないだろうなぁ～なんて思っていたら日本語のガイドペーパーがあり、ゆっくり分かりやすく話してくれたので安心しました。
　私達は水着を着ていかなかったので現地で着替える際、更衣室は無くトイレで着替えるよう言われたのでホテルから着込んで行く事をおすすめします。
　私達が参加した回は8人しかおらずボートが大きく感じプライベート感覚の為か船上ではみんな友達の様になって写真を撮り合ったりイルカを探したりしてとても楽しかったです。
　シュノーケリングではライフジャケットをはじめ浮き棒？みたいな補助具が積んであるので泳ぎが不得意な人も安心してシュノーケリングが出来て子供たちも一緒に楽しみました。
　一つ残念だった事は洞窟？これが？って思ってしまう所です。cavingと書いてあるから期待してるだけでボートに乗ってイルカ観てシュノーケリングだと思えば楽しいアクティビティーで、有意義な時間を過ごせました。

My first time in Hawaii, only speaking Japanese, and it was my first time snorkeling in over 20 years. I was quite anxious participating alone, but thanks to Daisuke's wonderful Japanese guidance, I was able to see many spinner dolphins and, lucky me, I also encountered a banded sea snake and a manta ray! (^o^)

Next time I have the opportunity to participate, I definitely want to bring an underwater video camera. (^^)

It’s about a one-hour boat trip to Kealakekua Bay. For breakfast, we had bagels, papaya, melon, and coffee. Once we arrived at Kealakekua Bay, we started our first snorkeling session. For lunch, we enjoyed burgers, hot dogs, fruits, and drinks like cola and coffee, followed by our second snorkeling session. The joy of chasing fish in the clear, calm bay is exceptional. There were about 40 participants, but only three groups of Japanese, including us, totaling seven people, while most were Westerners. We borrowed floatation devices to swim, and even if you’re confident in your swimming, having a floatation device makes it easier. I thought I had applied enough sunscreen, but my shoulders got sunburned. Sunscreen is definitely necessary. It was a tour I would like to join again.

ケアラケクア湾まで約１時間の船旅です。朝食はベーグルとパパイア、メロンとコーヒー。
