See the Big island's most famous attraction after sunset, heading to the Pahoa area to safely see the mesmerizing orange glow of lava at night. The recent eruptions ongoing since June 2018 have reshaped Volcanoes National Park and the surrounding area. Fissure 8 in Kilauea's East Rift Zone is now a hotbed of volcanic activity, including active lava flows, growing volcanic cones, and new land being formed as molten lava meets the ocean in what was Kapoho Bay.
