A good introduction to the island of Lanai

Everything ran smoothly from our ferry ride to Lanai, to meeting our guide at the island harbour. We saw Shipwreck Beach and the Garden of the Gods, both worthwhile stops, and were introduced to the main beach park, some of the lovely expensive hotels, and a good look at Lanai City. We enjoyed our guide’s stories about growing up on Lanai, and we loved our free afternoon snorkelling on the excellent reef at the beach. The ride home in the ferry was pretty rough, but that’s to be expected on the afternoon rough and windy waters between Lanai and Maui. It was a very expensive day, in our opinion, and our guide sometimes repeated himself, just to keep the patter going. Nevertheless, we had a good day, and would recommend it to anyone with deep pockets, and a desire to experience Lanai.

Schoenbrunn Palace was a wonderful place to spend Christmas Day; we enjoyed every part of the excursion, and felt it was money well spent. All of the arrangements made through City Discovery worked perfectly.

The Vienna Pass is definitely the best way to experience all the sites in Vienna; it is most definitely worth the money, both because it is so easy to use, and it gets you into so many of the places that tourists want to visit. The Hop On / Off option is also the easiest way to get around the city, although everything inside the RingRoad (the old part of the city) is easily walkable. We felt this tour combination was money and time well-spent. Vienna is truly a GEM, and all arrangements made with City Discovery worked out perfectly.

The line-ups to enter the Vatican Museums are very long; it was definitely worth while having skip the line tickets! The local guide was excellent, and the tour was very worthwhile. We had no problems finding our tour group, and appreciated City Discovery's detailed instructions for finding this location.

Most unfortunately, this tour was cancelled on the morning we arrived, because the guards at the Colosseum were on strike that day! We did walk around outside the Colosseum and the Forum, and still enjoyed our time there, but were certainly disappointed to be unable to enter these historic sites. We trust there will be no problem in getting our tour costs refunded!
