ARE YOU IN SHAPE TO HAVE FUN????

Posted on: 2013/11/25

What a terrific experience. PROVIDED, you are in reasonably good shape. Perhaps there could be oxygen bottles at all the takeoff platforms or maybe add elevators as the climb to the platforms was the most strenuous part for this 64 year old.
BUT WHAT A CREW!!!! First, Melissa in the office. Then, I must say to Ariel, Lionel and FP (She says Forest Princess and I say Forever Patient), you really made the tour enjoyable and special. There are ziplines everwhere but you three are unique.
This crew was not only very professional and safety conscious, they were FUN. Serious about their jobs with plenty of humor to lighten the mood and make me feel they really enjoy their work. My special thanks to FP, because in spite of my physical limitations, she allowed me all the time I needed for the physically challenging parts.
All three seemed genuinely concerned that everyone enjoyed themselves.
Given the opportunity, I'll be back!

What a way to spend a day !

Posted on: 2013/11/25

So we took a catamaran instead of a jet boat. WHO CARES. A much more relaxing way to travel.
Of course, having the right crew can sure make a big difference. Especially if you have Yoshi (skipper), Mark (aquatic expert) and Koma (terrific, knowledgeable guide) who are all very professional and seasoned sea-salts (sailors, for you landlocked unfortunates).
Of course, there's the delicious Hawaii style breakfast and the barbeque lunch all served ON-BOARD.
Can anyone say 'where are the dolphins'? Are you kidding me. You know, pictures really are worth thousands of words. Check them out.
Not once, but twice during our adventure.
Naturally, there is snorkeling in Shark Fin (Hummm) Bay. You'll just have to take the tour to find out.
Then, for the landlubbers, there's a wonderful tour of the very scenic, quaint privately owned island (Does the name Ellison ring a bell?) of Lanai with no traffic lights and only one gas station. No traffic cameras either. All orchestrated by none other than 'Auntie Mo' who is truly quite a lady and guide.
Then, the grand finale on the return voyage by raising the sail. Take the tour and see the sail totally unfurled.
What a way to spend a day!

  • Anyone for relaxing over the water?

  • What a crew !

  • Look what we have here.

  • Words seem inadequate,

  • Snorkeling anyone?

  • Barbeque. Hawaii style.

  • Seconds anyone? You guessed it, a second group.

  • Looks pretty scenic to me. What do you think?

  • Me and 'Mo". Auntie Moana until you meet her.

  • Hoist the sail. You'll just have to take the tour to see the end result.

A Real VIP...Very Impressive Performance

Posted on: 2013/11/24

The VIP package is the only way to go. Not only tremendously entertaining with great seating, but you get to share with the cast after the show. Such a deal!
Here's what I told the cast. 'I am nearing the end of a 14 hour travel day, but if I did nothing else on Maui, THIS SHOW WAS WORTH THE TRIP'! Actually, 2 shows in one. Often, I caught myself looking at the amazing musicians whose talent and energy were terrific.
What the heck. The talent and energy of the entire cast is worth the price of admission.
If you are in Maui, this show is a must see!!!!!!!

AHOY MATIES, ARRRR!

Posted on: 2013/11/23

There be amazing sights beneath the waves. What a wonderful experience for someone with bad claustrophobia (spelling it is the toughest part). You heard right you land lubbers, this terrific tour is truly for everyone. The crews are pleasant and very accommodating. Every part of the trip is safety first, and the underwater views are, well take a look. Enough said!
