We were on the same boat with four groups: two older, plump American women, a newlywed American couple, two Japanese women, and our family. I felt a bit scared, but my husband and son were excited from the start. If we can go to Hawaii again next year, I definitely want to try parasailing again. Also, I accidentally lost my hat, but a cool guy (the one who was explaining things) jumped into the sea and retrieved it for me! Thank you! It was a moment that improved my impression of Hawaii after 27 years.

I'll write about the things I wanted to know in advance!

I went with my middle school daughter to enjoy the 130m deluxe slide. We signed up for the 11 AM pickup. There were six pairs (12 people) along with two staff members on the boat, and off we went! Right after boarding, there was a quick explanation in English, and since we were the only ones who didn’t understand, I felt a bit anxious. However, they showed us a written explanation in Japanese. The two staff members seemed accustomed to Japanese guests and were cheerful, chatting with us in broken Japanese, which made it a lot of fun.

Everyone else on the boat spoke English, so they laughed and chatted happily with the staff. The boat did sway a bit, but since I took motion sickness medicine beforehand and was enjoying the scenery, I was totally fine. We took turns jumping off (we were fourth), and as someone who is a bit afraid of heights, watching was scary! But once I jumped... it was amazing!! Up in the sky, it was quiet, and I really felt relaxed. (Everyone said this.)

When we jumped and came back down, we splashed into the sea, which was also a lot of fun! The drop was slow, so even those who aren’t fond of roller coasters would be fine (it doesn’t feel like your insides are dropping). The water was cool and refreshing, just up to my feet or waist, so there was nothing to be scared of.

I couldn’t tell the difference between 110m and 150m jumps just by looking, as I didn’t understand the English and couldn’t see how high others were jumping. The staff offered a photo service for $30, and everyone seemed to order it. Based on reviews, opinions were mixed, but I thought it was great! The photos included shots of the sea, waiting, jumping, and staff photos. Since they took pictures of all six pairs doing the same movements, I think everyone’s photos looked similar.

Payment is made when you get off the boat. I had no idea how much to tip, so I paid $30 plus $10, totaling $40. I still don’t know if that was good, haha. (Three out of the six pairs paid by card.)

I only brought one phone because I thought it might get wet, but it was totally fine on the boat (nothing got wet), and everyone was taking pictures freely. I was wondering what to do with my wallet and valuables, but it didn’t feel like something to worry about. Everyone just put their bags in the storage under the seats.

After finishing, there was no place to change, but the driver was waiting for us to take us back to our hotel, so we just wiped off a bit and hopped on the trolley in our swimsuits. When we dried off a bit, we put on the dresses or shorts we had brought. The trolley was almost empty, so it was totally fine.

The pickup bus was on time, and even without understanding English, everything went smoothly. Overall, it was a lot of fun! The foreigners who rode with us tried to communicate with gestures, saying things like, “Looks scary!” When my daughter said the seats were hot, one of them offered their towel to put down. The two staff members and the driver were all kind, and it was just wonderful! I definitely want to go again! The parachute design is cool with a pirate theme!

船はもちろん少しは揺れるけど 事前に酔い止めを飲んでいたし 景色を見ていたら全然大丈夫でした。
順番に飛んでいくのですが(私たちは4番目)高所恐怖症気味の私は見てると怖い！でも飛んだら……最高でした！！
空の上は静かで本当にリラックス出来ました♪♪(これみんな言ってました)
飛び上がって行く時や 戻って来る時に海にぽちゃんと落とされたりするのですがそれもとても楽しかったです！ゆーっくり落ちるのでジェットコースターとか苦手な人でも全然大丈夫だと思うし(内臓ひゅーっみたいにはなりません)海に浸かるのも足？腰？くらいまでで冷たくて気持ちいいので怖いとかは全くありませんでした。
高さは 英語がわかんないし 見ただけでは他の人が何m飛んでるのかわからなかったので 110mや150mとの違いはわかりませんでした。
スタッフの人に30ドルで写真を撮ってもらうサービスがあったのですが みなさん頼んでいました。体験談を見ると賛否両論ですが 私は良かったです☆基本的には海の写真 待ってる時の写真 飛び上がる時から飛んでる時の写真 スタッフの写真等です。6組分いつも同じ動きで写真を撮っていたので みんな同じ感じだと思います。
お金は降りる時に払います。チップは幾ら払えば良いのか全く分からなかったので 30ドルプラス10ドルで全部で40ドル払いました。これは今でも良かったのかわからない 笑
(6組中3組はカード払いでした)
携帯やカメラは濡れるかなと思って1コだけしか持って行かなかったけど 船の上では全然平気で(濡れるようなことはない)みんな好き好きに写真を撮っていました。
お財布や貴重品はどうするんだろうと思っていたけど そんなこと心配するような感じではありませんでした。普通にカバンに入れて 座席下の収納にみんな入れている感じです。
終わって船を降りたらどこかで着替えるとかではなく 私たちのホテルの方面は運転士さんがお迎えに来て待っててくれたので そのまま適当に拭いて 水着のままトロリーに乗り ちょっと乾いた頃に着てきたワンピースとかショートパンツを着ました。トロリーは殆ど貸し切り状態だったので それでも全然平気でした。

お迎えのバスも時間通りだし 英語がわからなくても 勝手に進んでいくなんてことはないし 全体を通してとても楽しかったです♬
一緒に乗った外人さんも私たちに
ジェスチャーとかで 怖そうだね とか話そうとしてくれたり 船の座席が熱くて娘が 熱っ！って言ったら 自分の持ってるタオルを 敷いたら良いよって貸してくれたり スタッフの2人も優しかったし 運転士さんも優しかったし めちゃめちゃ良かったです♬
またぜひ行きたいなー！！

Thoroughly enjoyed our parasailing experience, i was quite nervous about doing it as i'm not great with heights but the guys on the boat really looked after us and made you feel very relaxed and at ease. We went up first, 1200ft line and as soon as we lifted up and away from the boat, any fear that i had disappeared! The views over Waikiki beach and surrounds were spectacular from up in the air, and it was so quiet and peaceful. The 12 minutes went really fast, i didn't want it to end. We got dunked at the end which was so much fun, we also opted for the photos and we got over 50 of them which were hilarious! Overall a fantastic experience, totally worth the purchase price and i highly recommend Veltra Hawaiian Parasail to all!

We participated in a company trip with eight people in the 120m and 150m groups. Although we registered by height, we were able to travel on the same bus and board the cruiser together. We were a bit anxious arriving late due to Hawaii time, but it was amazing!

We went up like on a lift, and then smoothly landed on the boat with just our lower bodies. The scenery and the cruise along the way were delightful, and the photos I took from up in the sky turned out fantastic (since I took them myself). We talked about wanting to do this again next time! I'm not good with heights! Plus, there was nothing beneath my feet, and the height I chose was a maximum of 180 meters! However, it felt great. The view of Waikiki and Diamond Head spread out below was breathtaking. The sensation of floating up on the updraft was something I had never experienced before.

The splash into the sea at the end was perfectly timed, and even though the crew couldn't speak Japanese and half of the guests were American, I had no problem enjoying myself without speaking English. I definitely recommend going for a higher altitude with a longer flight time.

いや、しかし、気持ちよかったです。眼下に広がるワイキキの街とダイヤモンドヘッド。上昇気流に乗ってふわっと浮き上がるような感覚は生まれて初めてでした。
終わり間際の海ポチャも絶妙のさじ加減で、クルーは日本語を話せずゲストも半分アメリカ人でしたが、英語を話せなくてもまったく問題なく楽しめました。

We participated as a family of three. We took a boat out to sea, and from there, we started parasailing. There were three groups on the boat, including us. We were the first to fly, and since two of us were going together, I thought I would be alone, but surprisingly, we ended up flying together as a group of three. Since there were three of us, the balance was a bit off, and we had to hold onto the rope. However, flying at 180 meters was high, and it was thrilling with amazing views, so it was great. The jet took all six groups out to sea. Then, one by one, they pulled up the parachute with the jet. If you go first, you will be on the jet for the duration until the remaining five groups finish. If you go last, you will have to wait for all five groups to finish. Either way, the time spent on the jet remains the same.

The waiting time can be a bit tough, but when you are actually experiencing it, you are enveloped in your own world, quietly enjoying the moment. It was a lot of fun!

In addition to the application fee, I paid $30 for DSLR photography and $20 for tips.

潜水艦はこどもと、２人。こどもも、僕も大興奮。亀も見れ、時間があっという間に過ぎました。因みに、潜水艦は殆ど、揺れなかったと思います。

船酔いが気になる人はデッキに行かない事をお勧めします。

個人的にはまた、乗りたいです。ハワイ島のは鯨見れるみたいなので、そっちも気になります。

This time, I successfully rode all the waves! Yay! The staff were incredibly helpful, and I realized once again that this school is the best. They give you a little push at the moment you catch the wave, which makes you feel like you've really "caught it!" After that, all you need to do is stand up calmly, and you're good to go! Riding the waves was a success. Of course, paddling is tough, but my sister, who joined me, is also a woman in her late 40s. If you have the motivation, you can definitely do it, so I highly encourage everyone to give it a try. Surfing in Hawaii is the best memory for a trip!

By the way, I also tried surfing on the Gold Coast, but I couldn't ride a single wave. I wonder if the waves in Hawaii are better or if the staff are just that good, as it felt surprisingly easy to stand up.

今回は波乗り全部成功しましたよ。ヤッター！スタッフの方に大変助けてもらって、やはりここのスクールでなくっちゃと改めて思いました。波乗りの瞬間、ひと押し入れて下さるんですよ～。これで「乗った！」と実感できるので、あとは落ち着いて立てばＯＫ！波乗り成功です。もちろんパドルはしんどいですが、私も一緒に参加した妹も４０歳後半女性です。やる気があれば、がんばれますので是非是非皆さんも体験して下さい。「ハワイでサーフィン」なんて旅の思い出として最高です！
（ちなみにゴールドコーストでもサーフィンに挑戦しましたが１度も乗れませんでした。ハワイは波が良いのか、スタッフが良いのか不思議と簡単に立てます）

時々、書き込みで「放ったらかし」とあったので、「７～８年前は凄く良かったけど変わってしまったのかな？」と心配していましたが、全然そんなことなく、素敵な笑顔で励ましてくれたり、力強く助けて下さったり、本当に最高のスタッフでした。一生懸命パドルしてるけど力不足で進まない、行きたい方向に行けないなんて時にはしっかりサポートしてくれます。

最後に一番面倒を見てくれたスタッフと写真を撮りたかったのですが、取り損ねて残念。後片付けを一生懸命されてるので声をかけるのが申し訳なくて。あのレッスンの後に後片付けもなんて、本当にパワフルなスタッフです！
またハワイに行ったら、絶対レッスンに参加します。その時、私５０歳超えかもですが。。。（笑）

It was after a once-in-a-decade hurricane hit Hawaii, so I was worried about the strong winds and whether my 8-year-old could participate. However, the weather was great on the day of the event, and we were able to enjoy the wonderful scenery. My child was thrilled and said, "It was the best!" We opted to have dinner as well as the show. We had a great dinner along with a pre-show of hula dancers. After dinner, we were escorted to the show room. These performers were the best. At one point, I had to remind myself that these were impersonators. We saw Elvis, who was one of the best that we had ever seen. Lady Gaga was fantastic and Michael Jackson would have given the real Michael Jackson a run for his money on the moon walk. If you are in Waikiki, don't miss this show. Well worth it!

Surf HNL - Waikiki Surfing Lessons at Ala Moana Beach

I expected a stand up paddle board group lesson but ended up with a solo surf lesson and had a great time. Chris was a good instructor and got me out into the water and riding the waves in hardly any time at all. He was also close by and attentive to my safety and form. It was great fun and I plan on doing it again the next time I'm in Hawaii....
