We booked a Hawaiian show at the request of my elderly father, who wanted to see it during our three-generation family trip, thinking that the young grandchildren would enjoy it as well. Since it was my second time attending, I chose a seat in the back, but being in the last row made it hard to see the cast's expressions, and I ended up not really understanding it. Therefore, I highly recommend sitting in the front.

There have been many posts saying the food was good, so I had high expectations, but I felt it wasn't that great.

I participated with my husband and our children, who are in the first year of middle school and fourth grade. After arriving at the culture center, we spent about 30 minutes sightseeing. We took a light walk and took some photos before hurrying to the buffet for our meal. Well, it might not have been a very leisurely dining experience. You can also go straight to the restaurant without sightseeing, so that's flexible. The crab legs were salty and disappointing, but the juice was delicious!

The show was story-driven, and at one point, I felt overwhelmed with emotion. There were many wonderful dancers, and the stage was impressive! Even the kids, who didn't understand the language, said they enjoyed it, and as a mother learning hula, I was happy too! They seemed to be overwhelmed by the fire dance, which was their first time seeing it.

I'm glad we chose the mini bus for transportation. I considered renting a car, but with being in an unfamiliar place, jet lag, driving on the left, at night, and about a 50-minute one-way trip... it would have been impossible to drive, as I discussed with my husband on the way back. Quite a few people were sleeping on the way there.

If I have the chance to go again, I definitely want to take a daytime tour next time. I was envious of those who had baskets and leis they made at the experience corners in each village!

夫と中1、小4の子供とで参加しました(^^) カルチャーセンターに着いてから、30分位を観光に使いました。軽く歩いて写真を撮ったりしてから、急いでビュッフェに行き食事をしました。まぁ、あまりゆっくりした食事時間ではなかったかもしれません。観光せずにすぐレストランに入ってもいいので、その辺りは自由です。カニ脚は塩っぱくて、期待外れでしたが、ジュースは美味しかった！

ショーは、ストーリー仕立てになっており、途中胸がいっぱいになりました。たくさんの素晴らしいダンサーが並び、圧巻のステージでした！言葉のわからない子供達も楽しかったと言っており、フラを習う母としても嬉しかった♪初めて見るファイヤーダンスには圧倒されたようです。

またミニバスでの送迎にして良かったです。レンタカーで行く事も考えましたが、知らない土地、時差ボケ、左ハンドル、夜、片道50分ほど…運転は無理だったね、と夫と話しながら帰りました。結構な方々が往きの道のりから寝ていらっしゃいました。

もしまた行くチャンスがあれば、今度は是非昼間からのツアーで行きたいです。各村での体験コーナーで作ったカゴやレイなどを持った方々が羨ましかった〜！

This time, since we were in Hawaii, we decided to enjoy this fun show. I made a reservation through Veltra, which offered a plan with some nice perks. At first, I was a bit worried about using Veltra, but on the day of the reservation, I headed to the venue and had no trouble checking in at all. I've already used Veltra for various activities and shows about five times during my two trips to Honolulu, and there have been no issues!

For this Rock-a-Hula show, I enjoyed the VIP dinner that came with the special reservation. We started with the meal, and I had the impression that the food at these types of shows is usually not very good, but I thought the food here was quite decent.

Next up was the start of the show. First, there was an Elvis Presley impersonator, followed by a female singer, and then a Michael Jackson impersonator. All of them had great singing abilities, and I really enjoyed watching Michael's dance. The fire dance was also impressive and enjoyable.

Since the dinner package can be a bit pricey, I would recommend just attending the show without the meal.

既にホノルル2回の旅行の内5回程ベルトラ利用で色々なアクティビティ、ショーを予約しましたがもう無問題です！
今回のロックアフラショーですが、嬉しい特典予約あるVIPディナー付きで観覧しました。
最初にお食事を頂きますが、この手のショーのお食事は大した物が出ない印象が強く有りましたがこちらのお食事はまぁまぁ良かったと思います。
お食事の次はいよいよショーの始まりです。
最初にエルビスプレスリーのそっくりサン次に女性シンガーサン続いてマイケルジャクソンのそっくりサン、どの方も歌唱力が有りマイケルのダンスも楽しく拝見できました。
ファイヤーダンスも迫力が有りよかったですよ。
お食事付きだと少し料金がかさみますのでショーのみの鑑賞をオススメしたいですね。

After eating the dinner buffet outside, everyone moved to the theater in their own time, but the seating inside the theater was first-come, first-served. If we had taken a little longer to enjoy dessert, there would have only been seats at the edges. I attended with my colleagues on August 15. We had diamond seats, but we arrived a bit late, so we had to wait in line for a little while, but we really enjoyed the show. The food had limited options and wasn't very tasty, but the show was truly great. The male dancers were quite impressive, and each of them did something secretly funny, which kept us laughing the whole time. The female dancers were also very lovely, and it seemed like the men from our company were quite captivated (laughs). I would like to go again, but since the food was lackluster, next time I want to just watch the show.

I had to wait quite a long time to exchange my tickets. However, there was a slight sense of superiority as only those with Diamond Seats were allowed to enter at the last moment.

Benefits of the Diamond Seats:
The central front row is indeed central, but the show also faces the sides, so I didn't feel much of an advantage. They say dinner is prioritized, but those without Diamond Seats were the first to be ushered in for meals, and the staff said nothing about it. The crowd was mostly from Southeast Asia. We participated as a family of four. This was our fourth trip to Hawaii, but it was our first time at the Polynesian Cultural Center.
On the bus ride there, we enjoyed the scenery as we passed along the east coast of the island. The guide's commentary was also great.
Since it was a tour that included only dinner and the show, we didn't get to explore much of the center, but I felt it was a very beautiful and pleasant-themed park.
The show was story-driven and entirely in English, but I was able to understand it well enough. Above all, I was overwhelmed by the scale of it. The final fire dance was spectacular, and the crowd was really excited.
Next time, I definitely want to go during the day.

On the third day of our five-day stay in Hawaii, we attended the Rock-a-Hula show. There is a dedicated venue for the Rock-a-Hula show inside the Royal Hawaiian Center in the heart of Waikiki, making it easily accessible from any hotel in the downtown area. The traditional hula dance in Hawaii was filled with well-known dance songs, and I couldn't stop smiling from start to finish.

We used this for our honeymoon trip.
This was our first time experiencing the cast show.
Although most of the staff and cast members didn't speak much Japanese, the check-in and dining processes went very smoothly, and we had a wonderful time.
The facility was very clean and stylish. Especially in the waiting hall when we entered as VIPs, we were served very cute snacks, which made my wife very happy.
The show itself featured famous impersonations that even people in their 20s like us know, and it was so diverse that we were completely absorbed, with no time to catch our breath.

I definitely want to use this again on our next trip to Hawaii.

スタッフの方キャストの方殆ど日本語はあまり話せない様でしたが、受付や食事等とてもスムーズに進み大変楽しいひと時を味わえました。
施設内はとても清潔でおしゃれな空間でした。特にVIPで入場した際の待合のホールではとても可愛らしいおつまみを提供して頂き妻も満足しておりました。
ショー自身は20代の私達でも知っている有名な人のものまねショーとなど客席をMAXまで使用したショーなど多彩で息をつく暇も無いほどに見入ってしまうほどでした。

又、次回ハワイへ旅行の際は利用したいと思った一つでした。

We participated as a family with children. First of all, I was satisfied with the buffet, but I felt the time was too short. Right at the start, the kids were called to participate in games. 家族にはショーの間に眠くなったものもおりました。
ただ、最後の方にファイヤーダンスが見られて、時間はかなり短かったですが見ごたえがあり楽しかったです。
トータルとしては、やはりせっかくのハワイなので、せめてフラはちゃんと見たかったため「少しがっかり」を選びました。
