The first time was in mid-June last year, and the venue was fully booked, so we had to wait in line to get in. Our seats were standard and located at the back. This time, since it was January 3rd, I was prepared for even more crowds than last year, but it was quite empty. I booked good seats, so we were able to see the show right in front of us, and my daughter danced on stage, creating wonderful memories. I was very satisfied.

An elderly American couple from the mainland celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary and came on a commemorative trip with their daughter and her husband. The husband raised his hand to report this to the host, and everyone congratulated them—typical of America! But I think there were only about two other Japanese couples besides us? We forgot that we were foreigners (laughs).

Had a great time at the Royal Hawaiian luau this week. It was much more than simply hula dancing and a fire show. The performances were short acts telling the story of the Hawaiian culture and history through song and dance. I could feel the passion for Hawaii in the host of the evening as he was setting the scene for each act. Interestingly, he was one of the actors in the original Hawaii 5.0!

Before the show started, it was fun to learn and actually see the process of how Hawaiian people made the material for their clothing. It was actually made of out sticks!

Food was plentiful and tasty with lots of variety. Highly recommended experience. The setting was beautiful on the lawn with the beach and an amazing view of Diamond Head in the background. A very special evening!

My friends and I had a great time at the Waikiki Starlight Luau!
The location is very convenient and we could just walk from our our hotel. Once we arrived the check-in was fast and we had a friendly staff greeting us with a Hawaiian lei and a welcome drink, nothing better than start the night with a Mai Tai! The food was very delicious and I love the variety of the food, specially the salads. It's great that they have a station specially for the kids.
The show was wonderful, full of delightful performances. My favorite part was the fire knife dance and to learn more about the other Polynesian cultures like Tonga, New Zeland, Samoa and Tahiti.
I would for sure come back to the this luau!

What a wonderful evening. Perfect location, beach front right at the heart of Waikiki, with a beautiful views from Diamond Head. The Royal Hawaiian Hotel is the most tradition hotel in Waikiki, the staff is very friendly and always ready to help you.
Before the dinner and the show start you can learn more about Hawaiian traditions. The buffet has a big variety of dishes and the food was very tasty. The drinks were very good too.
The storytelling of the show is very interesting they talk about Hawaiian history starting when the first Polynesians arrived, passing by the Royalty time and until it became the 50th state. The dancers and the singers are fantastic!
Great evening under the starts, good food and friends. I would definitely come back again and I I recommend Aha Aina Luau to everybody!

If you're not proficient in English, it might be tough. Over 90% of the participants are American tourists. This isn't specific to this tour, but many American travelers who don't live in Hawaii have some resistance towards Asians (especially older couples), and there are those who openly dislike being around them. If you can't communicate well enough to make jokes, dining at the same table can feel awkward. For someone like me, who struggles with English, the show felt too long and I got bored halfway through. It's a genuine luau show, but if you just want to experience the atmosphere a bit, I recommend a different tour.

We participated as a family of four, and while the food was delicious, I felt it was a bit expensive for the content of the dishes. Also, the venue was hard to find, and it took a while to reach the elevator! The show was in the front row, so it was powerful and truly impressive. I still enjoy watching the video. My grandchild was thrilled to have their favorite turtle tattooed on their arm. We had a wonderful night in Hawaii!

As soon as we came upstairs to the luau, we were promptly met by the luau staff and directed to our table. On the way there, the dancers greeted us with leis and we received welcome Mai Tais. They have regular and virgin Mai Tais, which were good! Our drinks were never empty and the buffet line went smooth. Try the salad, chicken, and the poi - an excellent combination! The best dessert was the haupia and I also tried some bread pudding - both were very tasty. The show started with the MC singing a beautiful rendition of an American melody in Hawaiian verse. The dancers were excellent and the whole show is well worth seeing if you are in Waikiki.

I understand that it's difficult for small children to sit still. Dining out can be challenging, but here, the spacious grounds with grass and sand allow the kids to run around freely for about an hour after the tour bus arrives and before the buffet starts!

Above all, you can enjoy the unique "sunset over the ocean" that the west side offers. Adults can relax with a drink in hand while soaking in the beautiful sunset, feeling like they've traveled to another island.

The show is also enjoyable, and when it gets dark during the fire dance, looking up at the sky reveals a breathtaking starry night!

Our family was very satisfied!

小さな子供がいるのでじっと座ってられないのは承知の上。外食も難しいところですが、ここなら芝生や砂など敷地が広くツアーバス到着後、ビュッフェまで1時間ほど時間があるので子供たちが思いっきり走れます！
何と言っても西側特有の「海に沈むサンセット」が楽しめます。大人もドリンク片手にキレイな夕日に浸れ他島に来た気分も味わえます。

As it was a traditional show, there were a lot of people watching. I'm not sure if reservations are absolutely necessary, but I think the day we went it was fully booked. The show was quite impressive, and I believe it's worth seeing at least once. However, being outdoors, it is very much affected by the weather, which is a downside. We watched it in the rain, which was quite disappointing. That said, there's nothing we can do about the weather, so for those interested, I definitely recommend it!

The content of the show was very good. The host was entertaining and it was lively. However, as everyone has mentioned, it wasn't exactly a smooth dining experience. The buffet style is nice, but there was a long line. The quality of the food isn't terrible, but it's best not to have high expectations.

I participated with two friends from Brazil in their 60s, two mothers in their 60s, and my husband. Thanks to the lively guide on the bus, everyone was in high spirits.

We were the only Japanese people on the bus and at the venue. I was surprised to find a place in Hawaii with so few Japanese visitors.

There are various paid and free activities before the show starts, and they are all very exciting. Even if you don't participate in the activities, watching the sunset over the ocean is truly magnificent, and seeing the hula in that setting is very moving.

Everything is in English, and I didn't encounter any staff who spoke Japanese, but you can still enjoy it with simple English.

The food was just okay.

The bus ride was about 40 minutes long.

As mentioned in everyone's experiences, they did not understand Japanese when ordering alcohol. However, I enjoyed it enough, and the food was delicious. I think it's definitely worth a visit for those staying at hotels in the Ko Olina area. I felt that even the cheapest seats were sufficient.
