I don't understand Japanese at all, so it's quite difficult if you can't speak English. Even on the bus, while everyone was laughing, I felt a strong sense of alienation. I didn't know how to enter, and before I could call out, they quickly moved on... I was anxious about what would happen. I finally made it to the ticket booth, and a kind person there took me to my seat, and I was saved by a friendly American who happened to be sitting right in front of me. The seat I was shown was right in front! I thought it was amazing, but during the dance, dust from the aisle flew up, and I got covered in it. I think sitting a little further back would be easier to see. The situation up to that point wasn't great, but the show was much, much better than any I had seen before. This is what I wanted to see, and the dinner was plentiful and quite tasty, so I was satisfied.

日本語は全く通じないので英語が話せないと結構大変です。バスの中でも皆が笑ったりしているのに疎外感たっぷりです。入場の仕方もわからず、呼び止める間もなく、さっさと先に行ってしまうし・・・どうなってしまうのかと不安でした。チケット売り場へたどり着き、そこの親切な方が席まで連れて行ってくれたのとたまたま席の前に座っていた親切なアメリカ人の方に救われました。案内された席は真ん前！すごい！と思っていましたが踊りの際に通路のほこりが舞い、しっかりあびてしまいました。席は少し後ろが見やすいと思います。ここまでの状況は良くなかったけど、ショーは今まで見たところよりずっとずっと良かったです。こういうのを見たかったし、ディナーも量がたっぷり、味もなかなか良かったので満足しました。

Good show, good food. Crafts were just OK. Some of the people working there were not really enthused about the whole thing. The food servers and performers were great. You can't use the Paradise Cove credit card at all booth's. Evidently some of the craft vendors are not directly connected to Paradise Cove and do not accept the card. If you just want to drink, then the card is great. The bar takes the card. I was here a few years ago, the show is better now, the food is better and the crafts are worse.

Our first Luau and it was a lot of fun. The bus picked us up at the hotel and brought us back. The gals that drove and entertained us on bus "W" were awesome. The activities were great as was dinner. We sat in the Royal Box. There wasn't a picture of it anywhere that I could find, so I am including one. You are sitting at approximately the same height as the stage but about 50-60 feet away from the stage. The show was great and all the people were really nice. The sunset was gorgeous and presents an opportunity for some amazing photos.

The entire experience was great. From the activities to the food and the show ! Took the hula classes, bowling and spear throwing. The show was very exciting and very fun. This is an interactive experience you need to see. The pick up service and return trip was outstanding to say the least

I can't understand Japanese at all.
The bus feels completely foreign.
I was worried if I could enjoy the rest of the trip, but even without communication, I had a great time.
It gets cold at night, so a jacket is necessary.
The show lasts a bit longer, so you might get cold.

I went with two of my other friends were about 25 yrs old. It was our first time in Hawaii and were skeptics of the luau, but we were in Hawaii might as well experience it. And it was great !!! The price was a little steep especially with the Canadian exchange rate. We got complimentary Mai tai at the door received our beautiful lei and shown our seats. The venue was amazing!! There was a lot of activity but we opt for getting drinks with our cards and watched the sun set!!! The food was great could go easy on the salt tho but the show was awesome I didn't think I would like it as much as I did. And the stars were out and overall all we had a blast. Added side note the dancers are veerrrryy good looking like wow!

The bus arrived about 30 minutes late in Hawaii time! However, the entrance where the optional tour people from Hyatt gather was filled with Westerners! I was impressed and waited, thinking these people must be going too. We gathered at what is called Paradise Cove and received cards to charge the $12 on-site. The bus only spoke English, but that was interesting in its own way. They told us which bus number to take, and since there were only about five buses, it was hard to make a mistake.

Upon arrival, I got a Mai Tai and entered the park. It seemed like they didn’t need ID, as my face clearly looks like I’m over 50! (laughs) We practiced hula together, climbed palm trees to scatter flowers, and some guests were made to do strange dances like a beach seine. (I felt safe since Japanese people probably wouldn’t be chosen! (laughs)) While doing various activities, the sun set, and when we got our food and drinks and sat down, the show began. It was standard but enough! It was amazing. It took a bit of time to buy drinks, so I didn’t think about drinking too much... (laughs) However, I got full quickly without taking too much food. The taste was decent, about the same as a plate lunch, and it felt sufficient.

I really felt like I was in Hawaii. Looking up at the sky, I was impressed by how beautifully Orion and Canis Major were visible! Of course, the dance and fire dance were also fantastic.

３０分くらい遅れてハワイ時間でバスは到着！しかし、ハイアットのオプショナルツアーの人が集まる玄関には欧米人だらけ！この人たちも行くんだろうなぁと感心して待つ。パラダイスコーブと呼ばれて集まって１２ドルを現地でチャージするためカードもらいます。バスではもちろん英語のみですが、それはそれで面白い。とりあえず何番のバスだと言われますし、バスも５台もないので間違えようがないです。到着し、マイタイをもらって園内に。身分証明とかどうみても５０歳の私の顔ではいらないみたいです。（笑　フラの練習をみんなでやったり、ヤシの木登って花を撒いたり、地引網みたいなことを一部の客にへんな踊りさせてやってもらったり。（日本人は当たらないだろうから安心して（笑））いろいろしている間に日が暮れて、料理を取って、飲み物をとって、席に着くとショーが始まります。スタンダードで十分！最高でした。酒は買うのに少し時間がかかるので、そんな飲もうと思わないように。。。（笑　しかし、食べ物もそんなにとらなくてもすぐにおなか一杯になりました。味はそこそこ、プレートランチ並みの味で、これで十分って感じでした。とにかくハワイに来たって感じかがしますね。そらを眺めるとオリオンと大犬座がきれいに見えたのが印象的でした！もちろん、ダンスやファイアーダンスも最高でしたよ。

My family and I enjoyed very much this luau. The staff made every effort to make us feel welcomed. Our leis were beautiful. Even though there had been a storm earlier and weather was not that great they still managed to provide us with a great show. The dancers were amazing the the fire performance was exciting. The only downside was that due to so much rain that had happened earlier we weren't able to experience watching the roasted pig being brought out of the pit.

The Luau was amazing. The views were beautiful, the activities were fun, and the food was delicious. Also My mother is handicapped and it was very easy for her to get around in her motorized scooter. My husband and 2 year old son also had a blast. Overall well worth it and I would go again.

Pretty good transportation to and from the luau. Lots of activities for both oldies and young ones. Having been to the same luau about 5 years ago, it was good to see that they changed their dinner program and made it still interesting.

Getting to the luau site early proved to be beneficial as you can enjoy games and other activities available. Food was substantial, although not much options for vegetarians. Dessert was also pretty subpar. Over-all though, pretty good value for your money.

Let me start by saying I've been to several tourist luaus in the last 25 years and have visited Hawaii over 30 times this one was an absolutely amazing event the food was really wonderful setting could not have been better right on the water just wonderful entertainment was great are only regret was that we did not upgrade to the box seats to have a better view a more intimate setting and better service

We attended a wedding celebration in Ko Olina with 14 family members. The sunset was so beautiful that it’s etched in my memory. The show was authentic. We were the only Japanese group there, but it felt great to be in a foreign land. Even though I didn’t understand the language, the atmosphere made it manageable. I definitely recommend it.

I recommend it as long as you have at least basic English skills. You can enjoy interactive activities. My husband also had a great time. The bus guide actively communicated while incorporating some Japanese, and I am grateful for that. (Please don't expect high quality food at this kind of tour buffet.)

First Trip to Hawaii

Let me start off by saying I NEVER leave reviews...which I need to work on because I am always checking them out before I do/buy things. So, this is my way of giving back.

My boyfriend and I went to Hawaii in the middle of Oct. This was our first trip to Hawaii so we were very excited! You can't go to Hawaii for the first time w/o attending a luau :-) They picked us up from our hotel at 3:30 pm. It was a long drive, took about 45 min. There is an entertainer on the bus to keep everyone awake. Once we got there we were given a mai tai & took a professional photo with a female & male dancer. Before the dinner you can walk around & play games, enjoy the scenery, etc. There were also small shows in between such as a hula lesson, the pig roasting, etc, Once dinner starts you enjoy the rest of the show that is on stage. It is very interactive as they ask for volunteers to come on stage. My favorite part was the fire juggler. The dinner was okay, but there are options for vegetarians & people who do not eat pork. The bar had really good drinks! My boyfriend had the paradise punch & I had the melon colada which was delicious! We did purchase the professional pic that was taken of us, which is a nice memory :-)

Overall, I would recommend especially if this is your first time in Hawaii. We returned to our hotel at about 10 pm, so round trip it is an all night event.

The welcome drink was made too early and got watered down with ice, making it taste bad. The bus guide kept saying "Everyone say" over and over. Unsurprisingly, we were the only Japanese people there. The show had too many songs and stories in between, and it was short, ending in no time. The Polynesian show is better. The Polynesian show is too long, so this one might be recommended for families with children. The buffet was just okay; it wasn't delicious, and the drinks were mostly sweet cocktails, which I can see wouldn't appeal much to Japanese people. However, the view is the best in Hawaii, and the sunset is very beautiful. Thanks to the scenery, I left without being angry. I won't be returning.

ウエルカムドリンクは早くから作りすぎて氷で薄まってまずい。バスガイドは、やたらと　エブリワン　セイ　って、何回も。ご他聞に漏れず　日本人は私達だけでした。ショーーはやたら合間に歌や語りが入り、ショー自体も短くて　あっという間に終わりました。ポリネシアンの方がよいです。ポリネシアンは長くすぎるので、子連れにはこちらがおすすめかも。ビュッフェも　まあこんなもんかと、美味しくはないです　お酒も甘いカクテルのようなものばかりだし、　日本人には　あまり受けないのがよくわかります。ですが、景色はハワイで一番です　夕日がとてもきれいです。景色のおかげで　まあ、怒らず帰りました。リピはないです。

My wife and I had a great time at the Luau. We booked early and mentioned that we were celebrating our anniversary. We had booked the Deluxe package. Well we were greeted and received a lei and then escorted to our seats. He informed us of the activities and presented us with drink tickets and vouchers to buy at their store. We then took a canoe ride, took pictures with the exotic birds, checked out the Lei making. By this time we went to get drinks and noticed the marque scrolling and saw our names wishing us a Happy Anniversary it made my wife happy. They then called everyone over and the pig was dug up for everyone to see and smell as they paraded it by everyone. We then sat down and had dinner served to us. What a great meal and then the show began it was a great show even the audience members were picked and got envolved. All in all a good time had by all.

The best time ever!

As our first time in Hawaii, we couldn't have asked for a better host/guide than Cousin Mo! He kept us laughing and entertained the whole way there and back! As soon as we arrived we were greeted with a flower lei and a kukui nut lei. As we entered we were offered a Mai Tai and the option to take a photo with a hula girl/fire dancer. As you go in you see this breathtaking view overlooking the ocean. And there's so many activities to do, so you're never bored. Than right before the meal you're entertained by hula dancers while two men pull the feast pig from underground who than walk around displaying the pig. As recommended we mixed the "Poi" with soy sauce and ate it with the pulled pork; So delicious! During the meal we were entertained with music, dancers and a fire show. The ride back home was just as entertaining, as I said, thanks to Cousin Mo I will always think of him when i hear Whitney Houston. Definitely would recommend the Deluxe package! The best time ever!

I participated again this year, just like last year. There are hardly any Japanese people here, so I don't understand the language, but it really makes me feel like I've come to a foreign land. The show is impressive. I recommend it if you want to see a Hawaiian show. Unfortunately, the food is disappointing...
